Abstract

The writing of the results of this study was carried out to assess the comparison of the effectiveness of the ethanolic extract gel of citronella leaves with concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15% of each extract on the diameter and thickness of the granulation tissue produced in second-degree burns induced in white rats. This study uses an experimental method with a post-test-only design and the sample is taken using purposive sampling. The effectiveness test was carried out by making IIA degree burns with an iron plate measuring ± 3cm which had been heated and then attached to the skin of rats that had been anesthetized and shaved, after that they were given treatment in the form of applying 5%, 10%, and 10% citronella ethanol extract gel. 15% for each treatment group. The results of the data obtained from this study were continued with the Oneway-Anova test which was continued with the Post-Hoc test, wherein the test results there were significant differences from each treatment given. The results of the measurement of the average diameter of burns resulting from the administration of ethanolic extract gel of citronella leaves given for 21 days with a concentration of 15% showed total healing of burns, while the concentration of 10% showed results of 1.12 cm and 5% of 1.59. cm. From the results of the calculation of the thickness of the granulation tissue, it was found that the administration of ethanol extract gel of citronella leaves with a concentration of 15% was 1074.067 m, a concentration of 10% was 1016,787 m and a 5% concentration was 478.38 m.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the acceleration of burn wound healing in rats given ethanol extract of turmeric rhizome (Curcuma Domestica Valet) gel and to see the granulation of the skin histopathology of rats. This research method is experimental with a post-test-only design. The research location is in the UNPRI Bio-Molecular Laboratory with 24 rat samples. Treated with Turmeric Rhizome Extract Gel with Concentrations of 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% and Silver Sulvadizine as Positive Control and Gel as Negative Control. The results showed that the effectiveness of the best Turmeric Rhizome Extract Gel for wound healing was a concentration of 100% on the 21st day of 15 mm. the worst diameter was the negative control on the 21st day of 20 mm. This happens in the healing of burns because of the content of tannins and flavonoids. Measurement of the granulation tissue diameter on the histopathological picture with the results of a concentration of 100% with a thickness of 863 m. Hypothesis test Ha is accepted There is Effectiveness of Ethanol Extract of Turmeric Rhizome Extract (Curcuma Domestica VALET) in Healing Grade IIA Burns. Suggestion It is necessary to do further research related to the factors that cause weak anti-inflammatory and antibiotic Kunit rhizome Extract Gel against second-degree burns.

Abstract

Inpatient medical records have an important role as a source of data and health information for inpatients related to treatment and care planning. The main factor that causes problems in inpatient medical records is the undisciplined factor of the person in charge who handles patients in filling out medical records. This can cause inpatient medical record management, not in accordance with medical record service standards. This study aimed to analyze inpatient medical record management based on medical record service standards. This research is a quantitative analytic study with a cross-sectional approach. The study was conducted at the Government Hospital in Medan. The research population was 126 people and all of them were used as samples. Sampling by means of total sampling. Data analysis used univariate, bivariate with chi-square test, and multivariate with multiple logistic regression at 95% confidence level (0.05). The results showed that inpatient medical record management implementation based on medical record service standards at the Government Hospital in Medan was influenced by work motivation (p = 0.001) and supervision (p = 0.000). While the variables that have no effect are length of work (p = 1,000), education (p = 0.848), teamwork (p = 0.241), and completeness of infrastructure (p = 0.760). The supervision variable is the most dominant variable or has the greatest influence with the value of Exp(B)/OR = 19,542. Medical record employees who state that supervision is carried out well by superiors will improve the implementation of inpatient medical record management well, compared to those who state that supervision is still not good. It is recommended that the leadership carry out inherent supervision (waskat) to all medical record employees and provide motivation through motivational seminars to improve the implementation of inpatient medical record management based on medical record service standards.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a major public health problem because of its short-term and long-term complications. Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a disease that involves pancreatic endocrine hormones, including insulin and glucagon. The main manifestations include disturbances of lipid, carbohydrate, and protein metabolism, which in turn stimulates hyperglycemia. This hyperglycemic condition will develop into diabetes mellitus with various forms of complications. Adherence is very important, especially in long-term treatment. In general, the level of compliance in each patient is described by the percentage of the number of drugs taken and the time of taking the drug within a certain period of time. This study aims to determine the relationship between controlled blood sugar in patients with diabetes mellitus with medication adherence at Balimbingan Hospital. The design of this study was cross sectional, with a quantitative approach with a sample of 56 patients. The data collection method in this study used a questionnaire and data on visits to patients with diabetes mellitus at Balimbingan Hospital.

Abstract

The water quality of the Babura River is increasingly worrying because of the pollution of domestic waste that occurs. The water condition of the Babura River is physically cloudy in color, looks oily and the river contains human feces. The use of polluted Babura River water can cause health complaints, including skin health problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the water quality of the Babura River, as well as the relationship between water use and skin health complaints in the community in the watershed. This research is an analytic survey using a Cross-Sectional design. There was 592 population in this study, living in the Babura River watershed in Petisah Hulu Village. The number of samples in this study was 86 households determined by the Slovin Formula where sampling was carried out by accidental sampling. Data analysis used Chi-square Test (α=95%). Sampling points were carried out at 3 locations namely Station 1, Station 2, and Station 3. The results showed that water quality had decreased in quality where the Dissolved Oxygen (DO), fecal coli, and total coliform parameters did not meet the river water quality standards according to Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 22 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Environmental Protection and Management. The statistical test showed that there was a relationship between the use of Babura River water and skin health complaints in the community in the watershed with a p-value of 0.000 (α<0.05). Of all respondents, 17 people experienced skin health complaints in the form of itching and dry, scaly, and peeling skin. It is recommended to the public to avoid using Babura River water directly for daily needs, to neutralize water before using it, and to related parties to try to prevent further pollution in the Babura River.
