Abstract

 Ecotourism is an alternative form of tourism, which is formed as a reaction to various negative impacts of traditional tourism by making a trip to a natural or conservation area that supports environmental sustainability. Development of mangrove ecotourism is very important for humans and mangrove forests itself to prevent the damage of coastal areas. With the existence of ecotourism, it is expected to encourage the development and preservation of mangrove forests that have high value. The development of the ecotourism along with the local community can develop tourism objects while preserving mangrove forests. Mempawah Mangrove Park (MMP) is a tourist site for mangrove forests in Desa Pasir, Kecamatan Mempawah Hilir, Kabupaten Mempawah.This study aims to determine the impact of mangrove ecotourism on the socio-economic aspect of Desa Pasir Mempawah Hilir society. The method that will be used in this research is descriptive. Data collection techniques that will be used are observation, interview, and documentation. The data collection tools that will be used in this research are the observation guide, interview guide, and documentation. Data analysis will be data reduction, data display, and verification.

Abstract

Multiculturalism is a reality in Indonesian society that students must be aware and understand early on. An understanding of multiculturalism aims to enable students to respect their own culture and the culture of others, which includes differences in religion, ethnicity and race based on Pancasila and unity in diversity (Unity in Diversity). Education has an important role in instilling multicultural knowledge in students so students can apply their cultural values and respect other cultures in their daily lives in society. Whatever form the school must contain multicultural education in every learning. Although there are currently many faith-based schools such as Islamic Schools or Christian schools, which have homogeneous students in religion but the most important is how students remain aware of how to promote tolerance and respect for others in their surrounding environment. This paper will distcuss how faith-based schools such as Madrasah schools based on Islamic schools or Christian Schools build multicultural awareness in their students at school.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the social integration of multiethnic communities in a functional structural perspective in Durian Village, Sungai Ambawang District. The research method used is descriptive in the form of qualitative research. The source of this research data is obtained by observation, interview and documentation. The results showed that the process of social integration of multiethnic communities occurred because of the existence of individual sociolinguistic abilities, ethnorelativism attitudes, mechanisms for problem solving, especially persuasively and the application of customary sanctions and the strength of local leadership. Meanwhile, the results of social integration are the creation of social stability because of the acculturation of local wisdom values and the development of a high sense of tolerance resulting in inter-ethnic cooperation and interdependence.

Abstract

The quality and the success of learning is strongly influenced by the ability and the accuracy of the teacher in choosing and using the learning models, there are various methods that can be used by teachers to deliver the subject matter, among others, problem solving learning model. Problem solving learning model is learning model that emphasize a logical problem. This learning model encourages students to think systematically by confronting problems related to the life in the community. This problem solving learning model is more appropriate to be used in sociology subjects, by solving social problems that exist in society. By seeing the low interest in learning, the students tend to be passive and just fixated on the book. These make the students have a low learning interest. Because the learning model used by the teacher influence the quality of the teaching process. By this learning model the teacher can improve students' learning interest in the learning process.
