Abstract

E-commerce is an extraordinary example of an online market product that is a breakthrough for people in buying and selling activities, with a wider reach. Digital enables transactions and processes within a company, involving information systems under the control of the company. The role of social media also contributes to encouraging consumers to shop in E-commerce. Various promos and advertisements as a form of marketing strategy offered have an impact on people's interest in online shopping. With these various promos and advertisements, there is a contest to attract buyers. However, the level of public satisfaction with marketing on Shopee is not optimal, where the level of consumer trust in business owners is still low. This research aims to explain the relationship and influence of innovation in driving marketing strategies to improve the performance of business actors on Shopee. This study uses a quantitative descriptive technique with an exploratory survey approach for this study. The data used was sourced from offline surveys. The sample of this study is all Shopee Pematang Siantar E-commerce users who are classified as millennials totaling 99 people. This non-probability purposive sampling technique was chosen because there are no statistics that determine the size of the population. The data analysis technique used is the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Model used. Hypothesis testing was carried out with the results of innovation affecting marketing strategies, the second hypothesis was marketing strategies affecting the performance of business actors, The original sample value was positive which showed that the direction of the relationship between marketing strategies and the performance of business actors was positive, so it could be concluded that the second hypothesis was accepted. The marketing strategies implemented by Shopee in improving the company's performance are still not optimal. It is recommended that the selection of suppliers in providing products on Shopee is more selective so that the quality of the product, product variety and content in the application are in accordance with what is displayed. For the provision of discounts in the product distribution process to consumers so that it is clearly informed to each consumer account so that there is no misperception. Innovation needs to be improved by Shopee in terms of other payment services such as payments for the use of transportation services. So that consumers who have the SPayLater application can make their payments more conveniently. Shopee's performance still needs to be improved through the addition of suppliers from outside Indonesia so that consumers in Indonesia who want products from abroad can make purchases on the Shopee application so that the number of consumer purchases will increase.

Abstract

This study looks at how cultural intelligence (CQ) and green transformational leadership (GTL) influence employees' innovative behavior (EIB), with innovation climate (IC) playing a role in between, at private universities in Medan City. This study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory survey method. We conducted data analysis using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) through Smart PLS software. The results showed that GTL had a significant positive effect on IC and EIB. IC was also shown to have a forceful and significant effect on EIB. Conversely, CQ showed a significant negative effect on IC and EIB, indicating that cultural diversity that is not managed effectively can hinder innovation. Mediation analysis indicated that IC significantly mediates the effect of GTL and CQ on EIB. However, the way CQ affects EIB through IC is still negative, meaning that if the innovation climate isn't supportive, CQ can actually have a harmful effect. These findings emphasize the importance of environmentally oriented transformational leadership and innovative climate in encouraging employee innovative behavior. Theoretically, this study integrates individual, leadership, and organizational dimensions in understanding innovative behavior. Practically, these findings provide implications for the development of HR management strategies in culturally diverse higher education environments.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of statistics lecturer competence and teaching strategies on students’ interest in learning statistics at Universitas Murni Teguh PSDKU Pematangsiantar. Using a quantitative approach with a sample of 105 undergraduate students, data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that lecturer competence has a strong and significant positive effect on students’ interest (β = 0.684; p < 0.001), indicating that pedagogical skills, subject mastery, and communicative ability play a crucial role in motivating students to engage with statistical content. Conversely, teaching strategies showed a significant yet negative effect (β = -0.188; p < 0.05), suggesting a potential mismatch between current instructional approaches and students’ learning preferences. Validity and reliability tests confirmed that all constructs met convergent validity (outer loading > 0.70), internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha > 0.88), and model fit criteria (SRMR = 0.069; NFI = 0.830). The results highlight the importance of competent and engaging lecturers in fostering positive attitudes toward learning statistics, while also emphasizing the need for adaptive and student-centered teaching strategies. This study contributes to the growing body of knowledge on educational quality and student engagement in quantitative disciplines, and offers practical implications for improving teaching practices in higher education, particularly in contexts where statistics is perceived as a challenging subject

Abstract

Abstract

This study investigates the monetary transmission mechanisms influencing inflation and exchange rates across seven Southeast Asian countries (Myanmar, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam) over the period 2010–2023, with special focus on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The research addresses the problem of macroeconomic instability, particularly the volatility in inflation and currency values during crisis periods, and aims to identify the dominant monetary factors affecting these indicators. The study employs a mixed quantitative approach using Structural Vector Autoregression (SVAR), Panel Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL), and Paired Sample t-Test to analyze the short-term and long-term relationships among key variables: Gross Domestic Product (GDP), investment, money supply (M2), interest rates, inflation, and exchange rates. Findings reveal that GDP is the most influential factor impacting both inflation and exchange rates, followed by money supply and interest rates. The variance decomposition analysis confirms that these monetary variables significantly explain macroeconomic fluctuations in both pre- and post-pandemic contexts. The t-Test further indicates statistically significant changes in inflation and exchange rates before and after the pandemic, highlighting the disruptive effect of COVID-19 on economic stability. The results demonstrate that inflation declined significantly in most countries during the pandemic, while exchange rate behavior varied depending on economic resilience and policy responsiveness. The study concludes that maintaining macroeconomic stability requires not only monetary policy coordination but also effective public health crisis management. This research contributes to the regional policy discourse by offering empirical insights and evidence-based recommendations to strengthen economic resilience in Southeast Asia.
