Abstract

ABSTRACT Stunting, a result of chronic malnutrition characterized by relatively short stature for the age of the child, remains one of the most common nutritional problems found in poor and developing countries and is closely related to the incidence of recurrent infections and inadequate psychosocial stimulation. As the prevalence of stunting reaches 31% in 2022, the Government of Indonesia targets to reduce the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia to 14% by 2024 through various programs involving various elements of government. This study aims to assess the implementation of stunting prevention and management programs in Tebing Tinggi. This qualitative study with a cross-sectional approach was conducted in Tebing Tinggi City in December 2023. The informants in this study consisted of three key informants, namely the Head of the Public Health Division of the Tebing Tinggi Health Office, the Primary Nutritionist of Puskesmas Satria, and the Nutrition Executive Officer of Puskesmas Teluk Karang, and six regular informants, namely parents with stunted children. The data was collected through in-depth interviews with informants with the help of in-depth interview guidelines. The implementation of the stunting prevention and management program in Tebing Tinggi has routine communication between implementation actors and program targets, has adequate human resources, funds, facilities, and infrastructure, positive disposition of implementation actors even without incentives, and has standard operational procedures and clear distribution of responsibilities. The implementation of the stunting prevention and handling program in Tebing Tinggi was good; however, it should be noted that there are still shortcomings in the aspect of communication with program targets. Keywords: Stunting, Implementation, Policy, Program  ABSTRAK Stunting, yaitu kondisi malnutrisi kronis yang ditandai dengan badan yang relatif pendek berdasarkan usia anak, masih menjadi salah satu permasalahan gizi yang paling sering ditemukan di negara-negara miskin dan negara berkembang dan berkaitan erat dengan kejadian infeksi berulang serta stimulasi psikososial yang tidak adekuat. Dengan prevalensi stunting yang mencapai 31% di tahun 2022, Pemerintah Indonesia menargetkan mampu menekan prevalensi stunting di Indonesia menjadi 14% pada tahun 2024 melalui berbagai program yang melibatkan berbagai elemen pemerintahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai bagaimana implementasi program pencegahan dan penanganan stunting di Kota Tebing Tinggi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan potong-lintang yang dilakukan di Kota Tebing Tinggi pada Desember 2023. Informan pada penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga informan kunci yaitu Kepala Bidang Kesehatan Masyarakat Dinas Kesehatan Kota Tebing Tinggi, Nutrisionis Ahli Pratama Puskesmas Satria, dan Petugas Pelaksana Gizi Puskesmas Teluk Karang dan enam informan biasa, yaitu orang tua dengan anak stunting. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan wawancara mendalam dengan informan dengan bantuan pedoman wawancara mendalam. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa implementasi program pencegahan dan penanganan stunting di Kota Tebing Tinggi memiliki komunikasi rutin antar aktor implementasi dan terhadap sasaran program, memiliki sumber daya manusia, dana, serta sarana dan prasarana yang adekuat, disposisi aktor implementasi yang positif walaupun tanpa insentif, dan memiliki standard operational procedure dan distribusi tanggung jawab yang jelas. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa implementasi program pencegahan dan penanganan stunting di Kota Tebing Tinggi berjalan dengan baik; namun perlu diingat bahwa masih terdapat kekurangan dalam aspek komunikasi dengan sasaran program. Kata Kunci: Stunting, Implementasi, Kebijakan, Program

Abstract

ABSTRACT Indonesian government official reports in 2022 found that more than 543.100 people living with AIDS live in Indonesia, but only 79% of them know their HIV status and only 41,7% took ART drugs. To achieve the United Nations and World Health Organization's 95-95-95 goals, the Indonesian government collaborates with local governments, and local, national, and international organizations, and actively involves the general public. This study aims to assess the implementation of HIV/AIDS prevention and management programs in Tebing Tinggi. This qualitative descriptive study was carried out in the city of Tebing Tinggi and involves ten informants consisting of five key informants (Health Departments’ Communicable Disease Abatement Manager and person in charge in four government-run VCT clinics) and five regular informants (people living with HIV). Data in this study was collected through an in-depth interview with each informant with the help of interview guidelines and constant cross-checking of information among the informants. This study found that implementation of the HIV/AIDS prevention and management programs in Tebing Tinggi was with effective, clear, and consistent communications, adequate staffing and facilities, high compliance and suitable competency, and the existence of SOP and clear hierarchal responsibilities. However, the implementation of these programs remains hampered by inadequate funding, the absence of incentives, and the public reluctance to participate due to the negative stigma. It can be concluded that overall implementation of the HIV/AIDS prevention and management in Tebing Tinggi is relatively good; with some room for improvement for better implementation in the following year. Keywords: AIDS, HIV, Implementation, Policy, Program  ABSTRAK Laporan resmi pemerintah Indonesia pada tahun 2022 menemukan jumlah ODHA di Indonesia mencapai 543.100 jiwa, namun hanya 79% yang mengetahui status HIV-nya dan hanya 41,7% yang menerima ART. Untuk mencapai target 95-95-95 yang ditetapkan Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa dan Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia, pemerintah Indonesia bekerja sama dengan seluruh tingkat pemerintahan, organisasi lokal, nasional, dan internasional, serta aktif melibatkan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi program pencegahan dan penanganan HIV/AIDS di Kota Tebing Tinggi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang dilaksanakan di Kota Tebing Tinggi yang melibatkan lima informan kunci (Pengelola Pemberantasan Penyakit Menular Langsung Dinas Kesehatan Kota Tebing Tinggi dan empat penanggung jawab program di klinik VCT milik pemerintah); dan lima informan biasa (ODHIV yang berada di Kota Tebing Tinggi). Data pada penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui wawancara yang mendalam dengan bantuan alat panduan wawancara. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa pelaksanaan program pencegahan dan penanganan HIV/AIDS di Kota Tebing Tinggi memiliki komunikasi yang efektif, jelas, dan konsisten, sumber daya manusia dan sarana dan prasarana yang adekuat, kepatuhan yang tinggi disertai kompetensi yang sesuai, serta adanya SOP dan distribusi tanggung jawab yang jelas. Namun, pelaksanaan program-program ini masih dihambat oleh keterbatasan anggaran, tidak tersedianya insentif, serta keengganan masyarakat untuk berpartisipasi dikarenakan stigma negatif terhadap ODHIV. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelaksanaan program pencegahan dan penanganan HIV/AIDS di Kota Tebing Tinggi berjalan dengan cukup baik dan masih terdapat ruang untuk peningkatan pengimplementasian yang lebih baik lagi. Kata Kunci: AIDS, HIV, Implementasi, Kebijakan, Program

Abstract

In the digital era, the integration of quality and routine data is key to transforming healthcare services. The utilization of information technology continues to grow, spanning from planning to providing individual and community health data. One of the innovations implemented is the transition from manual medical records to electronic medical records (RME), which despite its many benefits, still faces various challenges. RSU Royal Prima Medan started this transition process at the end of 2023 until early 2024, with the main obstacles being infrastructure limitations, suboptimal system integration, and adaptation difficulties that impacted the efficiency of patient services.  This study aims to analyze the efficiency of the RME transition in improving patient service speed at RSU Royal Prima Medan. The method used was descriptive qualitative with an exploratory approach, involving in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results showed that the implementation of RME has achieved about 80% effectiveness in improving service efficiency. The data retrieval process became 50% faster than the manual system, while the RME utilization rate reached 85%. Patient waiting time was also reduced by an average of 15 minutes per consultation. Despite this, obstacles such as network instability and technical issues were still encountered. In conclusion, the transition to RME at RSU Royal Prima Medan has improved service efficiency and patient data management. However, continuous system development, more comprehensive integration, as well as infrastructure improvements are needed to optimize the benefits of RME in improving healthcare quality

Abstract

Hipertensi adalah kondisi kronis dengan peningkatan tekanan darah yang berkelanjutan dan menjadi faktor risiko utama penyakit jantung, stroke, serta gangguan ginjal. Penatalaksanaan mencakup terapi farmakologis dan modifikasi gaya hidup, pengurangan natrium, penurunan berat badan, diet seimbang, aktivitas fisik teratur, dan teknik relaksasi. Rendahnya literasi kesehatan masyarakat memperburuk risiko hipertensi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini menggunakan metode sosialisasi dan metode diskusi. Proses sosialisasi diberikan secara langsung. Tim Peneliti mengumpulkan masyarakat di wilayah UPT Puskesmas Rantang, kemudian melakukan penyuluhan secara langsung serta memberikan leaflet tentang hipertensi, selanjutnya Tim memberikan kesempatan kepada masyarakat untuk bertanya. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilaksanakan di Puskesmas Rantang, Kota Medan, berupa edukasi preventif‑promotif. Intervensi ini diharapkan mendorong perubahan perilaku menuju gaya hidup sehat dan menurunkan kejadian hipertensi di tingkat keluarga dan komunitas.

Abstract

Moringa leaves are a rich source of protein, minerals and fiber. This extract has the potential to be used as an antioxidant, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic and antimicrobial. This systematic review was designed to effectiveness of Moringa Oleifera Leaves for wound healing. Databases were searched for relevant studies: ProQuest, ScienceDirect, Pubmed, Springer Link, and EBSCO to study screening tools used to identify effectiveness of Moringa Oleifera Leaves for wound healing that were published within 2018-2023. Information about study objectives, method, population characteristics, statistical techniques, main findings, and region. Research data analysis was assessed using the ANOVA statistical test. Data from identified studies were analyzed based on objectives, study design, and outcomes. Records identified from: databases (n = 1,375), screened records (n = 1,344), reports searched for retrieval (n = 25), reports assessed for eligibility (n = 17), studies included in the review (n = 9) full text articles in the systematic review. Eligibility of the 9 articles was based on key findings that had been carefully selected to meet the study inclusion criteria. Research with a systematic review of the effectiveness of Moringa leaves for wound healing is very important to provide additional information for patients with acute and chronic wounds who are treated at home or in hospital.

Abstract

One of the therapies used in wound care is the betadine plant to accelerate wound healing. It contains active substances, including flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and alkaloids, which act as antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, and antimicrobials. The type of research carried out was a literature review type. Literature search regarding the potential of betadine plant leaf extract (Jatropha multifida L) for wound healing using Google Scholar, Pubmed, Sci-Hub, and Science Direct. Articles were selected based on exclusion and inclusion criteria, resulting in a sample of 7 articles in Indonesian and English. The research results show that using betadine plants can heal cuts, post-tooth extraction wounds, and chemical burns. Administration is carried out two times a day with a treatment time of 1 to 4 weeks, and evaluation is done twice during the intervention. Wound treatment uses the betadine plant as an alternative therapy, which is helpful for wound healing. It is hoped that the betadine plant can be used as an alternative in wound care and can be applied by the community, especially for DM sufferers.

Abstract

Background: Aging is a natural process and no one can avoid it. The aging process is also a physiological process that will occur in all living things. This process covers all organs of the body including the skin which is one of the body tissues that directly shows the occurrence of the aging process Aim: This research aims to analyze ethanol’s antioxidant extract of pandanus leaves through DPPH method. Method: This type of research is using experimental research designs to determine the antioxidant activity affected by time, and temperature with the DPPH method, a formulation of the effects of the ethanol extract of fragrant pandan leaves (Pandanus amaryllifous Roxb). Findings: It has active antioxidant activity and IC50 extract of fragrant pandan ethanol on the 5th day with a temperature of 50° C and on the 3rd day with a temperature of 35° C which is the best antioxidant activity.

Abstract

Highlights: This article presents an understudied topic of nursing workloads in a hemodialysis unit and concludes that directly and indirectly productive activities occupied the majority of the nurses' working time. An analysis using the Workload Indicators of Staffing Need produced a general report that may prompt re-evaluation of nursing staff requirements and policy-making for workload distribution. Abstract The number of hemodialysis patients continues to increase almost every month, while the number of nurses in the Hemodialysis Unit at Rasyida Renal Specialist Hospital, Medan, Indonesia, remains constant. This situation has increased the nurses' workload and responsibilities. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the balance between the workload and the number of required nursing staff in the Hemodialysis Unit at Rasyida Renal Specialist Hospital. This study aimed to identify the optimal number of nursing staff required in the Hemodialysis Unit at the hospital in 2022. This study used a mixed-methods approach using the Workload Indicators of Staffing Need (WISN) method. This study included 44 nurses working in the Hemodialysis Unit at Rasyida Renal Specialist Hospital. Primary data included questionnaires, observations, and interviews during working hours, while secondary data included document reviews and staffing data. WISN calculations showed that the Hemodialysis Unit required a total of 65 nursing staff. In other words, an addition of 21 nursing staff was needed to meet the current workload. In conclusion, the current human resources available are not sufficient, and the workload is beyond the capacity of the nursing staff at the hospital.

Abstract

Hospitals should plan for drug needs using accountable methods to avoid empty drugs. Good drug planning can improve pharmaceutical stock control in hospitals. The purpose of this study was to find out about the application of consumption methods with EOQ, MMSL and ABC-VEN forecasting in the management of pharmaceutical supplies in hospitals. This study used retrospective mix-method data, quantitative data and qualitative primary data. The research was conducted at RSU Royal Prima Marelan. The results showed that drug supply control using the EOQ method of getting drugs reordered: cefixime 200MG ordered at 447, ondacetron 4MG 740, gabapentin 300MG 706, ranitidine 25MG 1467, novorapid flexpen / 5" 42. In the SS method, the number of drugs available at delivery, cefixime 200MG should be 627 drugs at the time of shipment, ondacetron 4MG should be 522, gabapentin 300MG should be 470, ranitidine 25MG should be 940, and novorapid flexpen/5" should be 26. In the ROP method the drug was reordered at cefixime 200MG it was reordered when the stock was 447 and the quantity ordered was 12027, ondacetron 4MG 740 and 10000, gabapentin 300MG 706 and 9020, ranitidine 25MG 1467 and 18040, novorapid flexpen 42 and 502. In the ABC method, group A as many as 59 types 70.59% with a total investment of 70.59% drug use and an investment value of IDR 606,511,106, group B 64 drug investment 20.33% investment 20.33% drug use investment 174,722,327, group C 146 types (9.08%) investment 9.08% drug use and investment 78,028,263.

Abstract

Kanker payudara merupakan salah satu penyebab kematian tertinggi pada perempuan, dan upaya promotif–preventif melalui deteksi dini perlu dilakukan sejak usia remaja. Rendahnya pengetahuan, sikap, serta praktik pemeriksaan payudara sendiri (SADARI) pada remaja menunjukkan perlunya intervensi edukasi yang efektif dan berkelanjutan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas remaja putri melalui pendidikan kesehatan dan pemberdayaan sebagai duta kesehatan berbasis pendekatan peer education. Kegiatan dilakukan di Desa Bukit Baling, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi, dan melibatkan 22 remaja putri. Metode kegiatan meliputi penyuluhan interaktif, pelatihan praktik SADARI menggunakan alat peraga, pre–post test, serta pembentukan duta kesehatan yang diberi pembekalan lanjutan untuk melakukan edukasi sebaya. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta, di mana 86,4% peserta mengalami peningkatan skor pengetahuan ≥20% setelah intervensi, dan 95,4% mampu mempraktikkan SADARI dengan benar. Selain itu, enam peserta terpilih telah diberdayakan sebagai duta kesehatan dan mulai melakukan kampanye edukatif dalam komunitas remaja. Evaluasi akhir menunjukkan bahwa 90,9% peserta menyatakan kegiatan ini meningkatkan kesadaran mereka terhadap deteksi dini kanker payudara. Program ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman, sikap, dan keterampilan remaja serta membangun jejaring edukasi berkelanjutan melalui model pemberdayaan duta kesehatan. Ke depan, pendampingan lanjutan dan integrasi program di tingkat sekolah serta layanan kesehatan direkomendasikan agar dampak edukasi bersifat kontinu dan lebih luas.
