Abstract

One indicator of the quality of service to patients is patient safety, where hospitals have an obligation to create a system that reduces or even prevents incidents that threaten patient safety. Surgical safety checklist or abbreviated as SSC is a patient safety procedure in the form of a checklist created by WHO as the basis for the actions carried out by the surgical team in the operating room. The aim of this research is to analyze the factors that influence nurses' compliance in implementing the Surgical Safety Checklist (SSC) in the Central Surgical Installation (IBS) of RSU Imelda Workers Indonesia. This type of research is quantitative research that uses a correlational design. The method used in this research is a cross sectional approach. In this study, the population was 25 nursing staff who worked at the Central Surgical Installation (IBS) of RSU Imelda Workers Indonesia. Sampling in this research was carried out using a non-probability sampling technique with a total sampling approach, which refers to sampling by taking all members of the population as samples, namely 25 respondents. The data analysis used is univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis. The research results show that there is an influence of knowledge, work stress and workload on compliance with the implementation of the Surgical Safety Checklist (SSC) in the Central Surgical Installation (IBS) of the Indonesian Workers' Imelda Hospital. There is no effect of length of work on compliance with the implementation of the Surgical Safety Checklist (SSC) in the Central Surgical Installation (IBS) of RSU Imelda Workers Indonesia. The independent variable in this study that has the most influence on compliance with the implementation of the Surgical Safety Checklist (SSC) in the Central Surgical Installation (IBS) of RSU Imelda Workers Indonesia is the workload variable (X3).

Abstract

Hypertension causes high morbidity (sickness) and mortality (death). Hypertension occurs as a result of interactions and various risk factors that a person has. Multiple studies have linked various risk factors to the emergence of hypertension. The research aims to determine the Essential Hypertension strategy through a risk factor approach at the Asy-Asyifa Clinic. The research design used was an analytical study with a case-control study design by selecting cases who suffered from essential hypertension and controls who did not suffer from essential hypertension. Primary data collection was carried out directly by researchers using research instruments in the form of questionnaires. In fact, the results of this study determined that age is related to the incidence of hypertension. The higher the age group, the more often the incidence of hypertension. The results of the Chi-Square statistical test with a value of p = 0.06 mean that there is a significant relationship between obesity and the incidence of hypertension. The results of the Chi-Square statistical test with a value of p = 0.048 mean that there is an essential relationship between people who smoke and the incidence of hypertension. In this study, there was no significant relationship with the Chi-Square statistical test with a value of p = 0.020, meaning that there was a meaningful relationship between people who consumed much salt and the incidence of hypertension. The variables influencing essential hypertension are obesity, salt consumption, and age. The dominant variable that influences essential hypertension at the Asy-Asyifa Clinic in Medan is the obesity variable. Regular exercise and a balanced diet are crucial to maintaining a healthy weight.

Abstract

This study delves into the formulation of a lotion using different concentrations (0.5%, 2%, and 5%) of Moringa oleifera leaf ethanol extract, aiming to address the constant exposure of the skin to a prooxidant environment. In Indonesia, the rising interest in exploring natural plants for traditional skincare formulations is attributed to their perceived lower side effects compared to chemical substances. Employing an experimental research approach with a pre-test and post-test control group design, the study focuses on observing and controlling the formulation and effectiveness of Moringa oleifera leaf extract lotion in various skin-enhancing aspects. The research findings reveal that the formulated lotions exhibit distinctive aroma, soft texture, ease of spread, and semi-solid or gel consistency without stickiness. Physical homogeneity suggests a well-blended composition, and the pH values (6.32 for 0.5%, 6.30 for 2%, and 6.28 for 5%) fall within the ideal range, ensuring skin compatibility. Spreadability tests show the 5% concentration has the highest spreadability, while adhesive strength analysis indicates all concentrations meet the criteria for good cream adhesive strength.Furthermore, the efficacy of the lotion is assessed for moisturizing, smoothing, pore-shrinking, wrinkle-reducing, and collagen fiber density-increasing properties. Results indicate the 5% concentration is the most effective across these parameters. In conclusion, the ethanol extract lotion formulated from Moringa oleifera leaves holds promise for enhancing skin health, with the 5% concentration demonstrating the highest efficacy. This research contributes valuable insights to the development of natural skincare products with potential applications in dermatology and cosmetology, aligning with the growing interest in sustainable and effective skincare solutions.

Abstract

Every woman wants her birth process to run smoothly and normally. The birth process can be normal (normal parturition), but there are also birth processes that have problems so that an operation called a caesarean section is required. In the past and to this day, sectio caerasea is a scary procedure. But currently the number of cesarean sections is increasing and there are even pregnant women who want to give birth by surgery. The aim of this study was to analyze the factors that influence the increase in the choice of caesarean section delivery at Permata Hati Kisaran Hospital in 2024. Quantitative type of research and cross-sectional design. The sample for this study was 83 women giving birth at Permata Hati Kisaran Hospital using the chi square test and multiple logistic regression analysis. The results of this study show that the most dominant variable is complications during pregnancy (p= 0.00; Exp(B)=31.3). It is recommended that women giving birth with pregnancy complications for both mother and baby should decide on caesarean section because caesarean section be a decision taken immediately due to an emergency situation. So that pregnant women can avoid complications during pregnancy and childbirth later and it is recommended that midwifery staff carry out more precise anamnesis and examinations of pregnant women because this will have an impact on the type of delivery.
