Abstract

Objectives: This study aims to investigate how brand authenticity influences purchase decisions and its effect on brand trust within the digital marketplace. In addition, the research seeks to determine whether brand trust serves as a mediating factor in the relationship between brand authenticity and purchase decisions.Methodology: A quantitative research design was employed through a survey approach, gathering responses from 267 Indonesian consumers who had previously made purchases via digital platforms. The study used a purposive sampling technique, ensuring that participants met specific criteria relevant to the research focus. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test both direct and indirect effects among the study constructs.Findings: The analysis revealed that brand authenticity has a significant positive effect on purchase decisions, reflected by a path coefficient of 0.995. Moreover, brand authenticity exerts a strong influence on brand trust (path coefficient = 0.863). While brand trust also positively impacts purchase decisions, its effect is comparatively smaller (path coefficient = 0.131). The mediation test further shows that brand trust partially mediates the link between brand authenticity and purchase decisions. Conclusion: This study shows how being genuine with a brand authenticity in building costumer trust and encouraging purchase decisions in the digital marketplace. The findings suggest that marketers should prioritize authenticity-driven branding strategies to reinforce consumer trust, promote brand loyalty, and enhance purchasing outcomes in competitive online environments.

Abstract

Science instruction in junior high schools often faces challenges in explaining abstract topics such as the Earth's Revolution, while failing to meet the demands of 21st-century skills due to conventional media. This problem was addressed through research focused on developing innovative Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based instructional videos for the Earth's Revolution, specifically designed to support the 4C skills. This research applied the ADDIE Research and Development (R&D) model, but its key stages were limited to the development stage. This process included analyzing student needs and the curriculum, designing video scenarios that adopted the PBL flow, and producing media that was then validated by material and media experts. The main findings showed that the resulting instructional video was declared "very feasible" with an average validation score of 85%. This finding indicates that the video excels in visualizing abstract concepts and encouraging active learning. It was concluded that this video product is a valid and potentially innovative learning resource to support 21st-century skills, although its empirical effectiveness cannot be confirmed because the research did not reach the implementation stage in a real classroom.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of arrowroot flour (Maranta arundinacea L.) substitution on the physical properties and sensory quality of peanut rempeyek. The research was conducted at the Food Processing Laboratory, Culinary Education Study Program, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, from April 2025 to October 2025. The method used in this study was an experimental method. The research samples were peanut rempeyek with arrowroot flour substitution at levels of 20%, 35%, and 50%. The physical test included oil absorption measurement using oil paper, carried out in three replications for each sample. The hypothesis testing for physical properties was analyzed using ANOVA followed by Duncan’s test. The results showed that arrowroot flour substitution at 20%, 35%, and 50% significantly affected oil absorption, with the lowest oil absorption found in the 50% substitution treatment. The sensory evaluation was conducted with 45 semi-trained panelists. Based on the Kruskal-Wallis test, the results indicated that arrowroot flour substitution at 20%, 35%, and 50% did not significantly affect the sensory attributes of peanut rempeyek across all evaluated aspects. Sensory quality assessment revealed that all three products had comparable quality. The conclusion of this study is that the 50% substitution sample was the best treatment in terms of oil absorption. Therefore, peanut rempeyek with 50% arrowroot flour substitution is recommended to optimize the utilization of arrowroot flour as an alternative to rice flour.

Abstract

This study applies a semi-Markov model to assess earthquake occurrence in the South Java coastal region. The main objective is to forecast earthquakes in this area, considering three key factors: geographic location, timing, and seismic magnitude. The South Java coastal region is chosen for this study due to its proximity to the island of Java, the economic hub of Indonesia. The study divides the South Java coastal region into five distinct zones and categorizes earthquakes into three magnitude groups. The results predict that earthquakes will occur in the South Coast regions of East Java, Central Java, or West Java between December 26, 2022, and November 20, 2023. Additionally, projections suggest that earthquakes are likely to occur in East Java, West Java, or Banten between November 21, 2023, and December 31, 2030. The estimated magnitudes range from 5 to 6 Mw. The findings also indicate that no tsunamis are expected along the South Java coast until 2030. Model validation using the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) results in a value of 4.224\%. This confirms the high accuracy of the predictions. Although no tsunamis are forecasted, the public must remain alert and prepared for the anticipated earthquakes. These findings provide important insights for disaster mitigation and emphasize the need for ongoing monitoring, early warning systems, and community preparedness to minimize potential risks

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in Indonesia’s economic development; however, many food-based MSMEs face competitiveness challenges due to limited product differentiation, weak brand identity, and inadequate marketing strategies. This community service program aimed to enhance the competitiveness of a peanut chip MSME through integrated product innovation, logo rebranding, marketable packaging design, and digital marketing optimization under the brand “PICA” (Rich-Flavored Peanut Chips). The program was implemented through several stages, including field observation and problem analysis, product formulation and processing trials, visual identity redesign, packaging development, digital promotional media creation, and monitoring and evaluation. Product innovation focused on transforming conventional fried peanuts into thin, crispy peanut chips with multiple flavor variants to increase sensory appeal and market differentiation. Rebranding activities involved redesigning the logo, selecting appropriate color schemes and typography, and creating a consistent brand identity aligned with modern consumer preferences. Packaging was upgraded from simple transparent plastic to premium standing pouches with informative and visually attractive labels to improve product perception and shelf competitiveness. In addition, digital marketing was strengthened through the use of Instagram and WhatsApp Business to expand market reach and enhance consumer engagement. The results demonstrated improvements in product quality, visual attractiveness, brand recognition, and promotional effectiveness. Overall, the integration of product innovation, rebranding, marketable packaging, and digital marketing proved effective in increasing the competitiveness and growth potential of peanut chip MSMEs. This program highlights the importance of comprehensive innovation strategies in supporting sustainable MSME development in the increasingly competitive food industry.
