Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of religious coping in dealing with multiple role conflict among student-santri at Pondok Pesantren Al-Mushlih Karawang. The study employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design to explore the lived experiences and subjective meanings constructed by participants. Participants were selected through purposive sampling, consisting of santri who were actively pursuing higher education while residing in the pesantren. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings indicate that student-santri experience multiple role conflict due to the simultaneous demands of academic responsibilities and pesantren obligations, resulting in time-management difficulties, emotional pressure, and psychological fatigue. Religious coping emerged as the primary strategy used to address these challenges through practices such as dhikr, prayer, Qur’anic recitation, voluntary prayers, spiritual meaning-making, religious social support, and tawakal. These practices not only helped participants reduce stress and achieve psychological calmness but also enabled them to reinterpret role conflict as a test, learning process, and means of personal and spiritual growth. The study concludes that religious coping functions not only as a mechanism for psychological adaptation but also as a process of meaning-making that transforms the way student-santri understand and respond to multiple role conflict.

Abstract

The modernization of data governance through the Education Management Information System (EMIS) has become a key strategy for improving public service quality within the Ministry of Religious Affairs. However, its implementation often faces technical and system integration challenges. This study aims to analyze the quality of EMIS-based data services, coordination workflows, and the obstacles encountered by Islamic Education Teachers (GPAI). A descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach was employed at the Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Karawang Regency. Data were collected through document analysis and in-depth interviews with Islamic Education teachers, EMIS operators, and the Head of the Islamic Education Section. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that EMIS has contributed significantly to the transformation of administrative processes from manual to integrated digital services. The system has improved transparency, data accessibility, and the validity of teacher certification and personnel records. Effective coordination among stakeholders has also supported the implementation of EMIS-based services. Nevertheless, several challenges remain, including central server congestion during peak usage periods, extended system maintenance, unstable internet connectivity, and data synchronization issues with the Basic Education Data System (Dapodik). These obstacles occasionally affect the efficiency and reliability of data management services. In conclusion, EMIS has enhanced bureaucratic efficiency and strengthened educational data governance. However, continuous technical improvements and stronger system integration are required to ensure consistent, reliable, and high-quality data services for all users.

Abstract

Facilities and infrastructure play a strategic role in special education because learning services for students with special needs require accessible, adaptive, and functional environments. This study aims to analyze the availability, utilization, constraints, and development efforts of educational facilities and infrastructure at SLB C Tunas Harapan Karawang. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach. The main data were obtained from interview results and were analyzed through data reduction, thematic presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the available facilities have supported classroom learning and skill-development activities. The school uses existing facilities not only for academic instruction but also for functional learning, independence training, and practical activities. However, several facilities still need further development because special education requires more specific learning spaces, adaptive media, accessibility support, and continuous maintenance than general schools. The school responds to these limitations by optimizing available resources, adjusting learning activities to students' characteristics, and prioritizing practical skill activities. The study concludes that facilities and infrastructure at SLB C Tunas Harapan Karawang have been used productively, but their quality and adequacy should be strengthened through need-based planning, stakeholder collaboration, and periodic evaluation.

Abstract

Students' interest in reading stays low, which is a big problem in education because it can lower the quality of learning and the results students achieve. To tackle this problem, SMAN 3 Karawang started the Friday Literacy Program as a way to build a stronger reading culture and boost students' interest in reading. This study was done to explain how the Friday Literacy Program was carried out, find out what helped and what slowed down its implementation, and look at how much it helped improve students' interest in reading at SMAN 3 Karawang. This study used a qualitative method and followed a descriptive approach. The study included the school principal, teachers, and students, who were chosen using purposive sampling. Data was gathered by watching, talking to people, and keeping records. The data analysis was done using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which involves steps like reducing the data, presenting it in a clear way, and then making final conclusions based on it. The data's accuracy was checked by using different sources and different methods. The study showed that the Friday Literacy Program was carried out in a planned and organized way.It involved reading activities done before regular classes, backed by school rules, with teachers actively taking part and having access to reading materials. The program helped students develop a stronger interest in reading, shown by better reading habits, more excitement about joining literacy events, and improved understanding of what they read. The program still faced some difficulties, like students not being very motivated, not having enough interesting books to read, and not managing their time very well. So, keeping the Friday Literacy Program moving forward with new ideas and having everyone like schools, teachers, students, and parents work together really well is important to keep and improve the school's focus on reading and learning.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze new student recruitment strategies through the New Student Admission System (SPMB) in vocational schools. The issue is important because vocational schools face increasing competition, changing public preferences, and stronger demands for transparent and accountable admission services. This study used a literature study method with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data sources were selected from previous studies and theoretical references related to educational management, school marketing, student recruitment, and SPMB. The data were analyzed through identification, classification, comparison, and synthesis of findings from relevant literature. The results show that an effective recruitment strategy through SPMB requires four integrated stages, namely planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation. Planning includes target setting, quota analysis, admission criteria, promotional design, and preparation of the SPMB committee. Implementation includes school promotion, information services, registration, document verification, selection, announcement, and re-registration. Evaluation is needed to measure the achievement of admission targets, service quality, media effectiveness, and barriers during the admission process. The study also found that school reputation, program quality, digital promotion, community support, facilities, and government policy influence recruitment success. Therefore, SPMB should not be viewed only as an administrative procedure, but as a strategic instrument to strengthen school competitiveness and public trust.

Abstract

School libraries need competent librarians to turn automation into accurate and responsive services. This study examined the relationship between librarians’ competence in managing INLISLite and library service quality at SMAN 4 Karawang. A quantitative correlational survey involved 189 Grade XI students selected from 357 students through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a valid 30-item four-point Likert questionnaire, observation, and documentation. The instrument obtained a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.968. Descriptive statistics, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, and Spearman rank correlation were processed using SPSS 27. Both variables were in the good category. Management competence achieved the highest mean of 3.0095, while Affect of Service reached 3.0053. The data were non-normal. Spearman’s rho was 0.947 with p < 0.001, indicating a positive, significant, and very strong relationship. Effective INLISLite services therefore require managerial, organizational, information-service, and digital competence.

Abstract

This article synthesizes evidence on how leadership styles improve employee performance in public organizations. A structured literature review was conducted using 15 verified academic sources on transformational, transactional, participative, ethical, servant, change, and public leadership. Sources were selected through keyword searches and analyzed thematically by leadership mechanism, employee outcome, contextual condition, and implementation risk. Transformational leadership consistently supports contextual performance, commitment, innovation, and mission alignment through vision, inspirational communication, intellectual stimulation, and individualized support. Transactional leadership remains relevant for task clarity, discipline, monitoring, and contingent rewards, but is insufficient alone where innovation and adaptation are required. Participative, ethical, and servant practices strengthen trust, fairness, employee voice, and organizational citizenship behavior. In public organizations, these effects operate through mission valence, public service motivation, leader-employee relationship quality, and commitment to change. An effective approach integrates transformational direction, participative decision-making, ethical conduct, and proportional transactional control.

Abstract

This study examines how the school environment influences students' learning motivation through a structured library review. Fifteen verified references published between 1998 and 2024 were selected from peer-reviewed journals and an OECD report. The literature was classified into physical, social, academic, safety-discipline, and institutional dimensions and analyzed descriptively. The findings indicate that a positive school environment is consistently associated with stronger interest, persistence, participation, belonging, and academic engagement. Comfortable learning spaces reduce distraction; supportive teacher-student and peer relationships strengthen psychological safety and relatedness; clear expectations, fair discipline, informative feedback, and autonomy-supportive instruction reinforce competence and the perceived value of learning tasks. These dimensions operate interactively rather than independently. Therefore, schools should evaluate facilities, relationships, instructional practices, safety, and student voice as one integrated motivational system. Because much of the evidence is correlational, the term influence should be interpreted as a theoretically supported relationship rather than a single causal estimate.

Abstract

This study examines how the principal of SLB Negeri 1 Karawang Barat implements strategies to create an adaptive learning environment for students with intellectual disabilities, viewed from four aspects: planning, implementation, evaluation, and the supporting and inhibiting factors. The focus is directed at the implementation stage, in which formulated policies are translated into concrete actions through the placement of teachers according to expertise, curriculum adjustment, teacher competency development, and school-parent collaboration. A descriptive qualitative approach with a case-study design was used. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with the principal, the vice-principal for curriculum, teachers, and parents, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results show that strategy formulation was carried out through participatory vision and mission setting and a needs assessment of students. Implementation was carried out through placing teachers according to their field of expertise, applying an adaptive curriculum through Individual Learning Programs, and developing teacher competence through In-House Training and learning communities. Evaluation was carried out periodically through teacher performance appraisal, academic supervision, and monitoring of student development. Supporting factors include principal leadership, teacher competence, and parental support, while inhibiting factors include limited facilities, the diverse characteristics of students, and limited teacher time for individualized services. The study concludes that the principal's strategy has been implemented systematically in accordance with the stages of strategic management, although continuous improvement of facilities and technology-based learning innovation is still required.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of the Qur’an Tahsin Program on strengthening students’ religious values at an Islamic junior high school in Karawang. The study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method and a descriptive correlational design. The sample consisted of 81 students selected through saturated sampling. Data were collected using a validated and reliable Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through normality and linearity tests, simple linear regression, the coefficient of determination, and hypothesis testing using SPSS. The findings indicate that the Qur’an Tahsin Program had a positive and significant effect on students’ religious values, with a significance value of 0.004. The program contributed 9.8% to the development of religious values, while the remaining 90.2% was influenced by factors outside the model. Regular Qur’an reading, teacher guidance and correction, motivation, and reinforcement supported the development of discipline, responsibility, Qur’an-reading habits, and awareness of practicing Islamic values. The novelty of this study lies in providing quantitative evidence of the contribution of the Tahsin Program to the religious character of junior high school students based on B. F. Skinner’s behaviorist theory.
