Abstract

Bulubonggu Village is one of the villages that is often affected by floods, this is proven in 2020 the flood height reached an average of 1-2 m. The village is close to the watershed and has a flat land topography. This flood disaster caused several people's houses and agricultural land to fail crops. This happened due to the lack of understanding of disaster information literacy by the people of Bulubonggu village. This research uses qualitative methods with a spatial approach. The research subject of the Bulubonggu village community. Data collection techniques and instruments are carried out through observation, and interviews. Qualitative descriptive data analysis techniques. The results are a total of 29 people or 36.25% of understanding of disaster information literacy in the Bulubonggu village community was in the medium category, a total of 32 people or 40% had an understanding of disaster information literacy in the community in the low category, and a number of 35 people or 43.75% had an understanding of disaster information literacy in the very low category in the Bulubonggu village community

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease characterized by elevated blood glucose levels and is the most common disease encountered by the wider community. The most common complication in patients with diabetes mellitus is diabetic foot ulcers. The level of knowledge in people with diabetes mellitus has an important role in preventing diabetic foot ulcers. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of diabetes mellitus patients on the prevention of diabetic foot ulcers at the Kassi-Kassi Public Health Center, Makassar City. The research design used in this study is a correlation design and uses a cross sectional approach. The determination of the sample was carried out by purposive sampling technique with a sample size of 43 people. The correlation test was performed using the Fisher Exact Test statistical test with a significance level of < 0.05. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and the prevention of diabetic foot ulcers (p = 0.20 < 0.05). The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between the level of knowledge and prevention of diabetic foot ulcers in patients with diabetes mellitus at the Kassi-Kassi Public Health Center Makassar City.

Abstract

Brakes are an important component in a vehicle unit, so it is necessary to have proper planning in the design and manufacture process. The purpose of this study is to design disc brakes on a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) car with consideration of the results of the calculation analysis based on the specifications of the reference car. The resulting design is in the form of main components which include calipers, pistons, discs, pads, rivets, pins and bolts. Based on this design, the calculation results show the braking process when a car traveling at a speed of 245 km/h can stop at a braking distance (s) of 42 m with a braking time 4 seconds. The next research is to make a mathematical model to optimize the dimensions of the brake components needed at the ideal braking distance.

Abstract

Research Aims: This study aims to investigate the factors influencing brand switching behavior among streaming service subscribers in Indonesia, specifically focusing on the impact of consumer variety-seeking, dissatisfaction, and service quality on the decline of Netflix subscriptions. Design/Methodology/Approach: Conducted as a quantitative research endeavor, this study employs multiple linear regression analysis through the utilization of SPSS software. The research sample comprises 220 former Netflix subscribers who have transitioned to other streaming services. By examining the relationships between consumer variety-seeking, dissatisfaction, service quality, and brand switching, the study seeks to provide a nuanced understanding of the dynamics influencing subscriber preferences in the competitive streaming landscape. Research Findings: The findings of this study reveal compelling insights into the key drivers behind brand switching among streaming service subscribers in Indonesia. Consumer variety-seeking behavior, dissatisfaction with Netflix services, and perceived service quality emerge as significant factors contributing to the observed decline in Netflix subscriptions. The study underscores the importance of these variables in shaping consumer decisions and preferences in the increasingly competitive streaming market. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: This research contributes to the existing literature by shedding light on the intricate interplay between consumer behavior and brand switching in the context of streaming services. The study's originality lies in its exploration of the unique factors, namely variety-seeking, dissatisfaction, and service quality, influencing the migration of subscribers from one platform to another. By uncovering these dynamics, the research provides valuable theoretical insights that can inform both academia and industry stakeholders, offering a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the evolving landscape of streaming services in Indonesia.

Abstract

The development of modernization is always changing, especially the culinary business has created intense competition to attract buying interest from consumers. This research aims to determine the influence of social media marketing, price and brand image on interest in buying. The sample obtained consisted of 100 respondents. The method used is quantitative by obtaining data from questionnaires via google from. This research uses a multiple linear regression analysis model to analyze the data. The respective research results show that social media marketing has a positive and significant partial influence on interest in buying. Price partially has a significant negative influence on interest in buying. Brand image has a positive and significant partial influence on interest in buying. The results of social media marketing, price and brand image simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on interest in buying. The results of the R Square value are empirically proven to be 67.7% by the variables in this research.

Abstract

Drinking water waste in plastic cups is increasing every year, which has an impact on environmental sustainability, so there is a need for equipment solutions for processing this waste. The aim of this research is a formulation to determine important aspects in the design of ring-cutting tools for plastic cup bottled drinking water. The method used is Quality Function Deployment (QFD) by considering user aspects through Voice of Customers (VoC) with 10 needs. This data is converted into 9 technical data which is analyzed with the House of Quality (HoQ). The results show priority improvements for the development of these tools, namely: manual cutting tool design (46,318), intuitive cutting tool design (45,227), adjustable tool holders and cutters (43,636), portable cutting tool design (33,591), components using standard parts (25,136 ), steel material (25,091), affordable tool manufacturing costs (20,455), non-corrosive material (17,955) and cylindrical and non-slip handle shape (12,273). This data is used as a basis for further research to design this tool. Keywords: Plastic Cups, QFD, Ring Cutting

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate use of finger protection PPE in process of sorting plastic glass at SiHatin Waste Bank. The waste sorting process with high risk is the process of cutting plastic cup ring. This research uses qualitative method with case study approach, interviews, and observations to identify problems and find solutions to improve comfort and safety. PPE used for three months was proven to increase safety officers by 80.95%. However, there is discomfort experienced by 18 out of 20 officers due to several factors, namely: precision movements difficulty by 90%, sweat on fingers by 60%, inappropriate size by 45% and skin irritation by 35%. The proposed solutions include using more comfortable materials and ergonomic, setting break times, and training use of PPE to increase its effectiveness. In addition, development of cutting ring tool was developed to reduce the risk of injury and increase worker productivity.

Abstract

The increase in consumption of bottled drinking water (AMDK) reached 54.11% from 2018 to 2020, which has a negative impact on the environment. SiHatin Waste Bank is a community formed to manage the waste. Waste Bank officers face the risk of injury and infection, especially to the hands, due to the lack of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during the processing of plastic glass AMDK waste. This condition creates new problems for Waste Bank officers, the purpose of this activity is to implement education on the use of finger protection in sorting and cutting plastic glass AMDK. The method of implementation of the activity involves observation, preparation of educational materials, direct training at the Waste Bank location, and evaluation of the impact through monitoring changes in officer behavior. The implementation of education on the use of PPE succeeded in increasing staff understanding by 41%, which is expected to reduce the incidence of injury and infection in the process of cutting plastic bottled water. It also contributed positively to the overall operations of the Waste Bank. In the next stage, there is a need for comprehensive monitoring by involving stakeholders to support the implementation of education holistically in an effort to manage sustainable waste.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out whether there is a relationship between emotional maturity and consumptive behavior among female students at the Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo. This study used a quantitative approach, with a population of 1,323 female students, with a sample of 250 female students. The sampling technique used is the probability sampling technique, the measuring tool used is the Likert scale, which is to measure the scale of emotional maturity and consumptive behavior and the reliability test results on the emotional maturity scale with a total of 27 items, the Cronbach Alpha is 0.785. thus, the emotional maturity scale can be stated as consistent or reliable because the Cronbach Alpha value obtained is greater than 0.60. While the results of the consumptive behavior scale with a total of 21 items, the Cronbach Alpha is 0.863. so, the consumptive behavior scale can be declared reliable because the Cronbach Alpha value obtained is greater than 0.60. the results of the Pearson Correlation value between emotional maturity and consumptive behavior -0.145 > 0.05, with sig. (2-tailed) 0.023 <0.05 which means there is a significant correlation between emotional maturity and consumptive behavior. The conclusion from this study is that there is a negative relationship between emotional maturity and consumptive behavior in female students at the Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo. By using a measuring tool for emotional maturity and consumptive behavior with the help of SPSS ver. 16 for windows. This can be proven from the results of the analysis which shows a correlation coefficient of -0.145 with a significance of 0.023 <0.05. Thus, it can be explained that the higher the emotional maturity, the lower the consumptive behavior of female students at the Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the description of emotional regulation in working mothers who experience dual role conflict where there is a conflict between work outside the home and household work conflicts. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of emotional regulation by working mothers who experience dual role conflict and to determine the factors that influence emotional regulation of working mothers who experience dual role conflict. The researcher uses a qualitative approach by focusing on a phenomenon, where mothers experience a dual role conflict between working and being a housewife. The respondents of this study were 3 mothers who worked as employees and had also become housewives who had children and significant others or informants from each respondent amounted to one person. Data collection was done by structured interviews. The results showed that the three respondents could bring up aspects of emotional regulation including aspects of situation selection, situation modification, attention deployment, cognitive change and response modulation. While the factors in the regulation of emotions include gender, cognitive and social support.
