Abstract

The current education system has adopted a 21st-century approach, emphasizing learning to know, learning to do, learning to be, and learning to live together. This shift has moved from a teacher-centered to a student-centered learning approach. 21st-century education demands the development of learning skills, innovation, information literacy, and digital literacy. The aim is to assess the extent to which variables such as Effort Expectancy (EE), Facilitating Conditions (FC), Hedonic Motivation (HM), ICT Usage Habits (IUH), Performance Expectancy (PE), Perceived Learning Opportunities (PLO), and Social Influences (SI) can influence Behavioral Intention (BI). Additionally, the study evaluates factors influencing the level of acceptance of web-based learning media usage among teachers in Indramayu Regency, using the UTAUT2 model.This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a questionnaire as the instrument. The population comprises all teachers in Indonesia, with a sample of 100 elementary school teachers in Indramayu Regency. The findings indicate that variables EE, FC, HM, IUH, PE, PLO, and SI collectively have an 81.1% influence on Behavioral Intention (BI), while 18.9% is attributed to other unexplored factors. The hypothesis test results reveal that EE, FC, HM, IUH, PE, and SI do not significantly impact Behavioral Intention (BI). However, Perceived Learning Opportunities (PLO) has a significant influence on Behavioral Intention (BI).

Abstract

The mathematical problem solving abilities of elementary school students still show variations in achievement at each stage of problem solving. This study aims to map the mathematical problem solving abilities of fourth-grade elementary school students based on the five stages of the IDEAL model (Identify, Define, Explore, Act, Look Back). The study used a quantitative descriptive approach with total sampling of 24 students. The instrument was a contextual problem solving test assessed using an analytical rubric on a scale of 0–4 at each stage. The scores were analyzed through average calculations and conversion of ability categories. The results showed that the Act (2.79) and Explore (2.54) stages were in the capable category, while the Identify (2.46) and Define (2.33) stages were in the sufficient category, and the Look Back (1.92) stage was the weakest aspect. Overall, most students were classified as capable, but weaknesses were still found in the stages of formulating information and verifying solutions. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening reflective strategies in mathematics learning. This IDEAL stage-based competency mapping can serve as the basis for more systematic problem solving learning planning in elementary schools.

Abstract

The concept of local wisdom has become a significant strategic basis for culturally based education in Indonesia, though the structure of intellectual form and the developmental course of research in this area have yet to be fully synthesized. The paper explores the development and intellectual architecture of local wisdom research in Indonesian education between 2010 and 2025 through an inter-woven bibliometric and systematic approach. Based on PRISMA procedures, 132 studies were selected from 575 records of Scopus-indexed journal articles. The growth of publications, most popular journals, institutional productivity, and international contributions were analyzed using bibliometric mapping, and qualitative thematic synthesis identified the prevalent research clusters and theoretical orientations. According to the findings, a significant growth trend can be observed in recent years, and scholarship is concentrated mostly in Indonesian institutions, with a predominance of the sociocultural and constructivist approaches. Five important thematic areas were identified, reflecting an inclination toward pedagogical application. The paper finds that although the field is growing very fast, it is nationally confined and theoretically fragmented. This study provides intellectual scaffolding and strategic pathways for more rigorous and globally active scholarship by mapping the intellectual architecture of the field.

Abstract

Abstrak Kurikulum merupakan bagian krusial dari sistem pendidikan, yang berfungsi sebagai pedoman proses pembelajaran dan menjamin keseragaman serta kualitas. Kurikulum mengatur berbagai aspek pendidikan, mulai dari tujuan pembelajaran hingga metode dan evaluasi. Kolaborasi antarnegara dan kawasan diperlukan untuk mengembangkan kurikulum yang memperluas perspektif internasional dan mendorong mobilitas siswa serta pertukaran budaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi peran kurikulum dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di era digital. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi dokumentasi dan wawancara sebagai teknik pengumpulan data utama., khususnya terkait akses dan kualitas pembelajaran digital. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kurikulum memegang peran sentral dalam menghadapi tantangan era digital dengan mengintegrasikan teknologi dan mengembangkan kompetensi abad ke-21 seperti literasi digital, berpikir kritis, kreativitas, serta kolaborasi. Abstract

Objective: In modern education, assessment is often considered a tool to measure student learning outcomes. However, this approach often ignores the processes students go through to achieve these outcomes. This study aims to explore the impact of implementing process-based assessment in sixth-grade learning, specifically on enhancing students' abilities in communication, teamwork, and critical analysis. The approach taken in this research is a qualitative descriptive technique approach, involving data collection through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results show that the implementation of process-based assessment significantly increased students' active participation, which was reflected in their confidence when expressing ideas and contributing in groups. This study highlights an innovative shift towards process-oriented assessment, advocating for an educational paradigm that recognizes students' individual needs and promotes meaningful learning experiences. Recommendations for educators include designing inclusive assessment strategies and providing constructive feedback to foster important skills in early childhood students, ultimately improving educational outcomes in elementary schools.

Abstract

Culturally grounded instruction may strengthen civic character and social literacy by connecting learning with students’ cultural experiences. However, limited evidence has examined Deli Malay local wisdom integrated with the Seven Habits of Great Indonesian Children Movement (G7KAIH) compared with an active value-based approach. This study examined differences in civic character and social literacy between Ethnopedagogy-G7KAIH and Value Clarification Technique (VCT) conditions. A quantitative pretest-posttest control-group design with intact-class random assignment was conducted in two elementary schools in Medan, Indonesia. The sample included 73 fifth-grade students: 38 in the Ethnopedagogy-G7KAIH group and 35 in the VCT group. Data were collected using a civic character questionnaire and social literacy test and analyzed using MANCOVA with pretest scores as covariates. A significant multivariate difference was observed, Pillai’s Trace = .301, F(2, 68) = 14.658, p < .001, partial η² = .301. Adjusted mean differences favored Ethnopedagogy-G7KAIH by 15.94 points for civic character and 12.78 points for social literacy. Because students were nested within only two intact classes, the findings represent sample-specific differences between instructional conditions rather than definitive causal effects. Replication with multiple classes and schools is needed to establish broader effectiveness.

Abstract

Understanding students’ initial conceptions is a crucial step in designing effective science instruction at the elementary level. This study aims to analyze students’ initial understanding of elementary science concepts through the use of open-ended pre-assessment instruments. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed involving 29 fifth-grade students at an Sekolah Dasar Negeri Hegarmanah 1 Jatinangor . Data were collected through an open-ended pre-assessment administered prior to instruction on the topic “Why Does the Earth Change?”. The instrument consisted of five open-ended questions designed to elicit students’ conceptual understanding, reasoning patterns, and potential misconceptions. Students’ responses were evaluated using an analytic scoring rubric and analyzed using descriptive statistics, including mean, median, standard deviation, and percentage distribution across readiness categories. The findings indicate that the average scores were centered around the middle level, suggesting that most students possessed basic prior knowledge, although their understanding was not yet well developed. The distribution of scores revealed heterogeneous levels of readiness, with students classified into high, middle, and low initial understanding categories. These results highlight the effectiveness of open-ended pre-assessment in revealing variations in students’ prior knowledge and misconceptions, and underscore the importance of using pre-assessment data to support differentiated and adaptive science instruction in elementary classrooms.

Abstract

Amid the widespread dissemination of digital information, elementary school students' ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating information and making ethical decisions remains a critical challenge that is often overlooked in conventional curricula. This study aims to map students' judgment profiles in validating information, identifying information bias, and making ethical decisions in authentic real-life contexts. Using a descriptive-exploratory design with the Many-Facet Rasch Model (MFRM), this study involved 26 sixth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using an essay-based Situational Judgment Test (SJT) designed to measure the dimensions of information literacy, logical bias detection, and moral reasoning. Wright Map analysis revealed an asymmetrical developmental pattern: students demonstrated strong cognitive resilience in identifying health-related hoaxes and hyperbolic advertising, yet exhibited considerable vulnerability in detecting gender bias and information manipulation in digital marketplace contexts. Furthermore, students showed ambiguity in decision-making when confronted with peer pressure. These findings suggest that students' critical judgment remains fragmented by cultural hegemony and prevailing social norms. This study highlights the need for pedagogical transformation through the integration of case-based learning that explicitly develops students' capacity to deconstruct social biases, thereby fostering the development of critical, ethical, and responsible digital citizens.
