Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to determine food consumption patterns, eating habits, and its effect on the density of nutrient intake in Kasepuhan Ciptagelar a traditional village community in West Java. Cross–sectional design was implied for this study. A total of 65 eligible households participated in the study. Household’s food consumption data which were used to calculate nutrient density score and density of nutrient intake were collected using 24-hour recall. Nutrient density scores were calculated by using Nutrient Rich Food Index 9.3 to compare nutrient intake of food with Daily Value based on FAO standards. Stepwise linear regression analysis showed that socio-economic factors most affecting iron density was age of husband. Meanwhile, food habits factor significantly affecting protein density was meal frequency. Food preference significantly affected on calcium density. Other socio-economic factors including family size, household income, and the amount of rice in rice barn; and socio-cultural factors of food taboos have no significant effect on density of nutrient intake. Nutrient intake from more variety foods should be increased to fulfill nutrient adequacy of individuals, especially girl adolescent and pregnant mothers who observed food taboos in this community.Keywords: density of nutrient intake, nutrient density, traditional communityABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pola konsumsi pangan dan kebiasaan makan serta pengaruhnya terhadap densitas asupan zat gizi pada masyarakat Kasepuhan Ciptagelar di Jawa Barat. Desain penelitian ini adalah cross-sectional dengan total subjek sebanyak 65 rumah tangga. Skor densitas zat gizi pangan dihitung menggunakan metode Nutrient Rich Food Index 9.3. Analisis menggunakan regresi linear menunjukkan bahwa variabel umur suami berpengaruh terhadap densitas asupan zat besi rumah tangga. Salah satu variabel kebiasaan makan yaitu frekuensi makan rumah tangga berpengaruh signifikan terhadap densitas asupan protein rumah tangga, sedangkan preferensi pangan sayur-sayuran berpengaruh signifikan terhadap densitas asupan kalsium rumah tangga. Aspek sosial ekonomi rumah tangga lainnya meliputi besar keluarga, pendapatan perkapita, dan jumlah ketersediaan padi di dalam lumbung padi; serta salah satu aspek sosio-budaya pangan meliputi tabu makanan tidak berpengaruh terhadap densitas asupan zat gizi rumah tangga. Asupan zat gizi dari pangan lain sebaiknya lebih ditingkatkan untuk memenuhi kecukupan zat gizi individu, khususnya individu yang mempraktikkan tabu makanan pada masyarakat tersebut. Abstract

ABSTRACT Obesity is a condition of excessive fat accumulation in adipose tissue that occurs due to nutritional transitions in food consumption patterns by population that practices modern lifestyles, trend to higher consumption of energy-dense foods and low physical activity. Food consumption is the main cause of adult obesity 18+ years old. Based on UNICEF (1998) concept, food consumption is influenced by food security, including food access and food availability. The purpose of this study is to determine the obesity and food security modeling in West Java Province. This study used secondary data from Riskesdas 2013, SUSENAS 2013, and Daerah Dalam Angka2013-2014 from BPS. Unit analysis is 26 districts of West Java Province. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Square - Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results showed that ten percent increase in food availability could directly reduce 9.2 percent in food access, reduce 8.9 percent in food consumption as a result of food access changes, and reduce 0.4 percent of obesity as a result of food access and food consumption changes. Ten percent increase in food access could directly increase in 3.0 percent of food consumption, and increase 3.6 percent obesity as a result of food consumption changes. Ten percent increase in food consumption could increase 6.0 percent of obesity prevalence. Keywords: obesity, food security, partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) ABSTRAK Obesitas merupakan kondisi akumulasi lemak berlebih pada jaringan adiposa yang secara langsung disebabkan oleh transisi gizi, yaitu perubahan pola makan oleh populasi yang telah mengadopsi gaya hidup modern, yaitu kecenderungan pada peningkatan konsumsi makanan padat energi dan rendahnya aktivitas fisik. Penyebab utama obesitas orang dewasa 18+ tahun berasal dari konsumsi pangan. Berdasarkan konsep UNICEF (1998), konsumsi pangan dipengaruhi oleh ketahanan pangan, termasuk akses pangan dan ketersediaan pangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan pemodelan obesitas dan ketahanan pangan Provinsi Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder, yaitu Riskesdas 2013, SUSENAS 2013, dan Daerah Dalam Angka 2013-2014 kabupaten/kota Provinsi Jawa Barat. Unit analisis adalah 26 kabupaten/kota Provinsi Jawa Barat. Analisis menggunakan pendekatan Partial Least Square - Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan 10 persen ketersediaan pangan dapat secara langsung menurunkan akses pangan sebesar 9,2 persen, menurunkan konsumsi pangan sebesar 8,9 persen sebagai akibat dari perubahan akses, serta menurunkan prevalensi obesitas sebesar 0,4 persen sebagai akibat perubahan akses dan konsumsi pangan. Peningkatan 10 persen akses pangan dapat secara langsung meningkatkan konsumsi pangan sebesar 3,0 persen, serta meningkatkan prevalensi obesitas sebesar 3,6 persen sebagai akibat dari perubahan konsumsi pangan. Peningkatan 10 persen konsumsi pangan dapat meningkatkan prevalensi obesitas sebesar 6,0 persen. Abstract

ABSTRACT Many indicators are used to measure food security. The most commonly used measurements are food recall, anthropometric indicators or health data, which have also been used in several studies. However, all these indicators have weaknesses such as data collection and analysis that are impractical and relatively expensive to implement. For this reason, a method that is easier, simpler, and cheaper to implement is needed. This study aims to analyze the validation of measures of food security with the HFIAS method to Maxwell's method in urban and rural households in South Sulawesi. This study used a cross sectional design. Sampling using purposive sampling with a sample size of 170 households. The data analysis performed is the gamma correlation test. The results showed that the results of the gamma correlation between the level of household food security using the HFIAS method for the Maxwell method obtained p = 0.000 with a value of r = 0.408. The conclusion of the study is that the HFIAS method can be used as a method of measuring food security because it is easier and more practical. Pengukuran yang paling sering digunakan yaitu recall pangan, indikator antropometri atau data kesehatan, yang juga telah digunakan dalam beberapa studi. Namun, semua indikator tersebut memiliki kelemahan seperti pengumpulan dan analisis data yang tidak praktis dan relatif mahal untuk diimplementasikan. Untuk itu, diperlukan metode yang lebih mudah, sederhana, dan lebih murah untuk diterapkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis validasi ukuran ketahanan pangan dengan metode HFIAS terhadap metode Maxwell pada rumah tangga perkotaan dan perdesaan di Sulawesi Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross sectional. Penarikan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dengan besar sampel 170 rumah tangga. Analisis data yang dilakukan adalah uji korelasi gamma. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil korelasi gamma antara tingkat ketahanan pangan rumah tangga menggunakan metode HFIAS terhadap metode Maxwell diperoleh p=0.000 dengan nilai r=0.408. Kesimpulan dari penelitian bahwa metode HFIAS dapat digunakan sebagai metode pengukuran ketahanan pangan karena lebih mudah dan lebih praktis. Abstract

Stunting remains a chronic nutritional issue in Indonesia. The prevalence of stunting has decreased from 30,8% in 2018 to 21,5% in 2023; this rate is still above the WHO threshold of less than 20%. Proper stimulation, affection, and parenting patterns influenced optimal growth in terms of height and weight. This study aimed to analyze the association between stimulation, affection, and parenting practices in stunting among children aged 24–59 months. This case-control study was conducted from March to April 2024 at the Made Health Center, Surabaya City, which consists of 50 toddlers, both stunting and non-stunting, selected using purposive sampling. Stimulation patterns were measured using the Home Observation of Measurement and Environment Inventory (HOME), affection patterns using the Child Adult Relational Experimental (CARE), parenting patterns using the parenting feeding style questionnaire, and nutritional status using anthropometric measurements. Data analysis was performed using the chi-squared test. The results showed that the stimulation patterns were significantly correlated with stunting (p=0,000; OR= 5,90). Affection patterns were also significantly correlated with stunting (P =0,000; OR=13,75). Parenting patterns were significantly correlated with stunting (P =0,000; OR=26,35). In conclusion, stimulation, affection, and parenting patterns were significantly correlated with stunting among children aged 24-59 months.

Abstract

The primary nutritional problem of adolescents is the triple burden of malnutrition. Factors that trigger nutritional problems in adolescents include poor eating habits, low nutritional and socioeconomic knowledge, and sedentary activities. This study aimed to analyze differences in nutrition knowledge, diet quality, and their relationship with nutritional status among rural and urban school adolescents in West Aceh. This study used a cross-sectional design, involving 312 adolescent schools in West Aceh in 2023. Data on nutritional knowledge were collected using a questionnaire filled out by the subjects themselves, intake data using 2x24-hour food recall, and anthropometric measurements such as BAZ and Percent Body Fat (PBF) using BIA scales and microtoice. Data were analyzed using Mann-Whitney and Spearman rank tests. There were significant differences in family characteristics, nutritional knowledge, and diet quality between the rural and urban school adolescents (p<0,05). There was a significant positive relationship between nutritional knowledge and diet quality and BAZ and PBF (p<0,05) only among rural school adolescents. In conclusion, family characteristics, nutritional knowledge, and diet quality differed significantly among the adolescents by region. In rural areas, nutritional knowledge and diet quality were significantly associated with BAZ and PBF. School adolescents' knowledge and diet quality remain low; therefore, nutrition education related to balanced nutrition guidelines is required.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to analyze relationship of maternal height, nutrients intake and nutritional status in children under five years. The study design used was cross-sectional study with 90 children as subjects that consisted of 47 stunting children and 43 normal children. This study showed that short mothers (height <150 cm) were more prevalent in stunting children (74.5%) compared to normal children (60.5%). Energy and protein adequacy level of stunting and normal children were relatively severe deficient. There were no significant relationship between maternal height and energy adequacy level with nutritional status. However, there was a negative relationship between protein adequacy level with nutritional status (p<0.05; r=-0.223).

Abstract

The objective of this study was to analyze the intake of energy and nutrients, nutritional status, and anemia status in adolescent boys with drug abuse at boys penitentiary class IIA Tangerang. This study used cross sectional design. Subjects of this study were adolescent boys with drug addiction. Sampling method used was purposive sampling and the number of subjects was 40 people. Descriptive analysis showed energy (35.0%) and protein (27.5%) adequacy level were categorized as severe deficit. Mean energy from food provided by the penintentiary hadn’t met subjects’ daily requirement while mean protein had met subjects’ daily requirement. Iron adequacy level was categorized as adequate (82.5%) and vitamin C adequacy level was categorized as inadequate (100.0%). Most subjects had normal nutritional status (85.0%) and anemia (57.5%).

Abstract

Masalah gizi merupakan masalah yang masih memerlukan perhatian serius di negara berkembang. Pada tahun 2024, kasus stunting di Indonesia yaitu sekitar 19,8% (Kemenkes 2025), dengan kasus stunting di kota Bogor yaitu sekitar 18,7% sementara di Kabupaten Bogor 27,4% (Kemenkes 2025). Dalam rangka memenuhi target penurunan angka prevalensi stunting di Indonesia menjadi 14,2% pada tahun 2029 diperlukan pemahaman terkait faktor yang mempengaruhi asupan gizi keluarga. Salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi asupan gizi individu atau keluarga yaitu kondisi ekonomi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis asupan energi dan protein masyarakat di sekitar Kampus IPB Dramaga dan kaitannya dengan tingkat kemiskinan, ketimpangan, dan pendapatan riil pada tahun 2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder yang terdiri dari kecukupan asupan energi, protein, dan pendapatan. Dalam penelitian ini dianalisis tingkat kemiskinan berdasarkan indeks Foster-Greer-Thorbecke (FGT), Rasio Gini, dan korelasi pendapatan dengan tingkat kecukupan asupan energi dan protein. Garis kemiskinan yang digunakan yaitu garis kemiskinan BPS, Sajogyo, Bank Dunia, dan Gold Standard. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbandingan hasil dari persentase kemiskinan, kedalaman kemiskinan, dan keparahan kemiskinan sebagai berikut P0=0,15;0,5;0,48;0,86; P1=0,04;0,01;0,15;0,56; P2=0,02;0,01;0,07;0,39. Selain itu, diperoleh Rasio Gini sebesar 0,57 yang tergolong ketimpangan tinggi. Terdapat korelasi yang sangat lemah antara pendapatan dengan kecukupan asupan energi (r=-0,19;p=0,05) dan protein (r=-0,09;p=0,36) yang menunjukan bahwa kondisi ekonomi bukanlah faktor yang memengaruhi asupan gizi masyarakat di wilayah sekitar Kampus IPB Dramaga.

Abstract

Traditional foods are foods consumed by a certain ethnic group in a specific region. The habit of consuming traditional foods is usually inherited by the family members, including toddlers, of a respective generation. The study aimed to determine relationship of maternal knowledge, attitude, and practices in traditional food feeding with stunting and wasting of toddlers in the farmer families of the Central Bengkulu District. This study employed a cross-sectional design with a sample of mothers with children aged 12–59 months. The sample included a total of 115 farmer families. Data on nutritional knowledge, attitude, practices about traditional food, sex of children, and the number of family members were collected via interviews conducted with the mothers; stunting and wasting status data were collected via height and weight measurements. Data were analyzed bivariately using the chi-square test. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was also used in this study. It was found that there was a relationship between nutritional knowledge of traditional food and nutritional status of weight-for-age (p-value = 0.031), and there was a correlation between nutritional practices of traditional food and wasting incidence (p-value = 0.012). According to the height-for-age index, the nutritional status was related to the maternal knowledge of traditional food, whereas the maternal nutritional practice with traditional food had a significant relationship with the weight-for-age index.

Abstract

Sinar ultraviolet B adalah sumber utama vitamin D, tetapi wanita usia subur yang bekerja di dalam ruangan mempunyai vitamin D yang rendah meskipun Indonesia negara tropis. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengevaluasi peranan paparan sinar matahari pada wanita usia subur terhadap status vitamin D dan tekanan darah. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen tanpa kelompok kontrol pada 21 wanita sehat. Penelitian ini membandingkan status vitamin D dan tekanan darah sebelum dan setelah mendapat paparan sinar matahari pada wajah dan lengan tiga kali seminggu selama 12 minggu. Analisis data menggunakan uji t-berpasangan. Paparan sinar matahari dapat meningkatkan vitamin D. Serum 25(OH)D meningkat 15,9% dari 15.7 ng/dL menjadi 18,2 ng/dL. Paparan sinar matahari menurunkan tekanan darah sistolik (nilai p = 0,004) dan diastolik (nilai p = 0,011). Ultraviolet B dari sinar matahari 30 menit tiga kali seminggu selama 12 minggu dapat memperbaiki status vitamin D dan tekanan darah. Ultraviolet B sunlight exposure is a primary source of vitamin D, but women of childbearing age who worked in room every day had low serum vitamin D despite Indonesia is a tropical country. The objective of this study was to evaluate the role of sun exposure in women of childbearing age on vitamin D status, and blood pressure. An intervention before-after study without group control was conducted on 21 healthy women. This study compared vitamin D status, and blood pressure before and after receiving ultraviolet B (UVB) from sun exposure on the face and both arms three times a week for 12 weeks. Anthropometric parameter and blood pressure were measured, were determined at baseline and after 12 weeks of sun exposure. The effect of sun exposure can improve vitamin D. Serum 25 (OH)D increase 15.9% from 15.7 ng/dL to 18.2 ng/dL. Sun exposure significantly reduced systolic blood pressure (p value = 0.004), and diastolic blood pressure (p value = 0.011). Ultraviolet B from sun exposure for 30 minutes, 3 times a week for 12 weeks improves the vitamin D status, and blood pressure.
