Abstract

Drosophila melanogaster is a member of the insect class that is used to prove the truth of Mendel's monohybrid and dihybrid crossing theory. Fruit flies were chosen as the object of the experiment because they are easy to find, have many offspring, have various phenotypes, have many mutants, and male flies do not crossbreed. This experiment aims to practice making monohybrid and dihybrid crosses and calculate the phenotype ratio of F1 and F2 offspring. The method used in this experiment is to make a medium for the fruit flies, inoculate for transferring fruit flies, and conduct monohybrid and dihybrid crossing methods. The results obtained will interpret the phenotype ratio in F1 and F2 offspring. This experiment concludes that the factors that control each character will separate at the time of gamete formation, and the factors that determine different characters are entered freely from each other.

Abstract

This study examines the factors that contributing to Generation Z's difficulties in securing employment. This research uses secondary data obtained through literature review in the form of previous research articles, information on mass media and social media. The data were analyzed to obtain a comprehensive picture in understanding the factors that influence Generation Z's difficulties in getting a job. Based on the findings, unemployment among Generation Z in Indonesia is a significant issue, driven by three main factors: lack of motivation, low employee well-being, and limited opportunities for self-development. Generation Z's work motivation is influenced by alignment with personal interests, clear goals, and a supportive environment. However, challenges such as weak work ethics, poor communication, and high salary demands without corresponding performance contribute to higher turnover intentions. Additionally, the lack of work-life balance and career development opportunities leads to dissatisfaction among generation Z.

Abstract

This study aims to predict product sales at CV Pelumas Murni Keluarga using the Random Forest method to overcome sales fluctuations that impact stock management and production planning. Uncertainty in sales forecasting can cause excess or shortage of stock, thus hampering the company's growth. This method was chosen because of its advantages in handling complex data and producing accurate predictions. The study was conducted quantitatively through observation and collection of automotive lubricant sales data from January to June 2023. Data was analyzed using the Google Colab application to implement the Random Forest model. The process involves data preprocessing, model building, and evaluation using out-of-bag data. The results of the study show that the Random Forest method is able to significantly increase the accuracy of sales predictions, providing a stronger foundation in developing sales strategies and inventory management. Thus, this study is expected to help CV Pelumas Murni Keluarga in optimizing operational efficiency and increasing profitability.

Abstract

In the era of information technology advancement, educational institutions, including Ketapang State Polytechnic, are increasingly relying on innovation by implementing information systems to maintain the smooth running of academic services and learning processes, especially in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the extent to which the information security of these innovations has been maintained is still a question. This research aims to analyse the gap by conducting an assessment using the Information Security Index (ISI) 4.2, referring to the ISO 27001 standard, at Politeknik Negeri Ketapang. Although information technology has been integrated into operations at Politeknik Negeri Ketapang, the lack of in-depth analysis of information security brings uncertainty regarding the level of compliance with information security management standards. This research provides an in-depth analysis of governance, risk management, technology management, infrastructure, information security technology, and data protection. The results of this study not only provide an overview of the maturity level of information security at Politeknik Negeri Ketapang, but also provide concrete recommendations to improve the identified weaknesses. Analysis results based on KAMI Index 4.2 Ketapang State Polytechnic achieved a score of 16 with a high category out of a total of 50 in the use of Electronic Systems, signifying significant integration in business processes. The overall evaluation of the KAMI Index reached 453 out of 645, at level II-II+, indicating fulfilment of the Basic Framework for information security. Although compliant with information security management, there is a need for improved security measures, better supervision, and increased awareness of responsibility on the part of managers. Urgent improvements are required.

Abstract

The integration of digital tools in academic writing has significantly enhanced students' writing proficiency across various educational levels. Tools such as grammar checkers, citation managers, plagiarism detectors, and collaborative platforms help students produce more structured, academically compliant writing. These tools support technical skill development while also increasing educational accessibility, providing students from diverse backgrounds with greater opportunities to improve their writing abilities. AI-based writing assistants, in particular, help reduce grammatical errors and expand vocabulary, while multimodal technologies encourage creativity by enabling students to integrate visual and audio elements into their work. This literature review, using PRISMA and bibliometric analysis, synthesizes studies from 2019 to 2024, examining how digital tools impact writing clarity, adherence to academic standards, and structured argumentation. The review reveals that while digital tools significantly enhance writing skills, their overuse can result in a dependency that impairs the development of critical thinking and creativity—key components of strong writing. The implications of these findings stress the importance of digital literacy training within curricula, ensuring that students use digital tools responsibly and complement their writing skills with analytical and creative thinking. Additionally, professional development for educators is essential, enabling them to guide students in effectively integrating these tools. Ultimately, a balanced approach to digital tool use can enhance academic writing while contributing to the broader goal of fostering well-rounded, digitally literate learners.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effects of systematic and unsystematic risks on the optimal portfolio return in Global Stock Indices during the 2016–2023 period using the Single-Index Model. The findings reveal that systematic risk, measured by stock beta, has a significant and positive influence on expected return (regression coefficient = 0.37; t-statistic = 8.018; p-value < 0.05), explaining 65% of the portfolio return variance. Conversely, unsystematic risk is statistically insignificant (regression coefficient = 0.37; t-statistic = 5.546; p-value > 0.05) due to its reduction through diversification. The constructed optimal portfolio yields an expected return of 12.5% with an 8.3% risk level. These results align with Modern Portfolio Theory and the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM), emphasizing the importance of systematic risk management and diversification in optimizing portfolio performance. These findings provide actionable insights for investors to design investment strategies tailored to their risk tolerance. Keywords: Expected Return, Systematic Risk, Unsystematic Risk, Optimal Portfolio
