Abstract

This study aims to examine how the concentration of heavy equipment in industrial classes contributes to the work readiness of Vocational High School graduates, particularly in terms of meeting the demands of Industry 4.0. This research employs a literature review approach by analyzing relevant studies, reports, and publications on vocational education, work readiness, and competencies in the digital era. The findings indicate that the heavy equipment concentration industrial class program enhances graduates' work readiness through the integration of up-to-date technology in the curriculum and a practice-based learning model that develops both technical and soft skills. Graduates are expected to possess technological literacy, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability to digitalization and automation in modern industries. However, this study is limited to secondary data analysis and lacks empirical field data, which should be addressed in future research. The findings have broader implications not only for education but also for the social and economic dimensions of vocational development. By strengthening collaboration between schools and industries, this model enhances graduate employability, promotes local economic growth, and cultivates a skilled workforce aligned with national industrial transformation objectives. Overall, the program has a positive impact; nevertheless, curriculum updates are essential to remain responsive to ongoing industrial changes.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the resilience of vocational high school students from divorced families as they encounter life challenges and make career decisions. Employing a qualitative intrinsic case study approach, the research involved students from divorced families as the main participants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with participants and their significant others, supported by document analysis, and analyzed using a thematic analysis approach. The results reveal five key themes: parental divorce, coping dynamics, sources of resilience, career choices, and factors influencing career decisions. The findings indicate that resilience is influenced by emotional regulation, stress-coping strategies, attachment figures, self-control, gratitude, and optimism dimensions that correspond to the concepts of "I am," "I have," and "I can." Career choices, meanwhile, are influenced by family heritage, childhood experiences, parenting patterns, and personal needs. This study provides a novel contribution by integrating resilience theory with career development perspectives in vocational education contexts, particularly among students affected by parental divorce. The results highlight the importance of resilience as a predictor of adaptive capacity in career decision-making. The implications suggest that educators, counselors, and schools should design targeted intervention programs to strengthen resilience and facilitate career readiness among students from divorced families.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Daihatsu Program in the Light Vehicle Engineering subject at partner vocational schools, namely SMK Islam 1 Blitar and SMK PGRI 3 Malang, using Kirkpatrick's four-level evaluation model. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach through interviews, observation, and documentation, the data were analyzed inductively. The findings reveal positive outcomes at each evaluation level. At the reaction level, both teachers and students responded with great enthusiasm to the industry-based learning. At the learning level, there was a marked improvement in students' conceptual understanding and technical competencies. At the behavior level, students demonstrated significant development in their work attitudes and discipline. Most importantly, at the results level, the program not only enhanced the quality of graduates, making them more job-ready, but also strengthened the strategic partnership between the educational institutions and the industry. Therefore, the Daihatsu Program proves to be an effective and tangible implementation of the link-and-match concept, successfully bridging the gap between the school curriculum and real-world industry demands. It stands as a successful model for developing relevant and sustainable vocational education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This qualitative study analyzes the development of practical tour guide skills among vocational high school students based on Kolb's Experiential Learning Theory (Pondok & Nurul, 2021) . Through interviews, observations, and document studies, a significant gap was found between the curriculum, which focuses on guiding techniques, and the industry's need for soft skills such as interpersonal communication, problem solving, and adaptability (Firdausia, 2025) . The implementation of the Kolb cycle, particularly the reflection and active experimentation stages post-work practice, was identified as suboptimal, resulting in graduates' competencies not fully aligning with the rapidly evolving dynamics of the tourism industry.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relevance of digital skills among graduates of the Office Automation and Governance (OTKP) vocational program at SMK Negeri 1 Bandung with the needs of the labor market in the digital era. The research employed a qualitative case study approach involving productive teachers, graduates, and industry representatives as key informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The results indicate that graduates possess strong basic digital skills such as office software operation and online communication, but exhibit limited competence in virtual collaboration, cloud-based data management, and digital security. The skill gap is influenced by curriculum limitations, insufficient teacher training, and inadequate digital facilities. The study highlights the importance of strengthening the link and match between vocational schools and industries, as well as integrating adaptive digital skills into vocational curricula. The implication of this study emphasizes the need for developing a digital project-based learning model to enhance graduates’ employability and adaptability in the digital transformation era.
