Abstract

This community service is focused on empowering the elderly. Elderly empowerment is an effort to make the elderly active and responsive. Activities in self-sufficient food storage with a priority on vegetable farming are suitable for empowering the elderly. Planting activities while enjoying a fresh and green environment are light ways that can help relax and are safe for the elderly. This community service is carried out by socializing pot farming techniques, hydroponics, aquaponics, and vertical gardens. The method used is participatory education and socialization with material related to the provision of planting media, nurseries, planting, and management of vegetable products. Participants in this activity are elderly who are members of farmer groups. The result of the dedication is the realization of a vegetable garden, and the product can be sold to the elderly group in the Rungkut Barata residential area, Rungkut Menanggal Village, Gunung Anyar District, Surabaya. A vegetable garden in this environmental facility illustrates an urban agricultural 'oasis', which is expected to be a reference for optimal utilization of public facilities. In addition, activities can be a reference in empowering the elderly as active and responsive people towards their environment.

Abstract

Suweg tubers (Amorphophallus companulatus) is a plant that grows wild and is widely used as fodder. The largest component in suweg tuber is carbohydrate that is 80%-85% with glukomanan. Glukomaman is a natural polysaccharide which cannot be hydrolyzed by digestive enzymes in the human body and is known as a no-calorie compounds. This study aims to determine the effect of cereal-based flour suweg tubers (Amorphophallus companulatus) against weight loss of male mice with high fat diet.  Process to made flour from suweg tuber, was cleaned and chopped. Chopped then soaked with salt water then dried and powdered. The yield in flour were obtained by 5.2%. Suweg tubers flour that has been processed into cereal. Cereals made with three variations of the formula that is with the addition of 75g:25g, 50g:g50 and 75g:25g in each recipe. The result cereal flake shaped, sweet flavor, color suweg flour browned and flavorful, and the formula 1 with the addition is a formula which gives the effect of the most in reducing weight.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi dan informasi membawa dampak pada lembaga peradilan yang mau tidak mau harus menyesuaikan peraturan Mahkamah Agung Nomor 1 Tahun 2019. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menggambarkan keefektifan penerapan E-Court masa pandemi dan pascapandemi Covid-19 di Pengadilan Negeri dan Pengadilan Agama Makassar. Pentingnya penelitian ini, sebagai bahan masukan untuk evaluasi kebijakan-kebijakan bidang peradilan yang lebih cepat, mudah dan efisien. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian hukum empiris dengan didukung data primer dan  sekunder. Pengambilan sampel secara purposive sampling dan selanjutnya data-data dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas  penerapan e-Court di masa pandemi dan pascapandemi Covid-19 di Pengadilan Negeri dan Pengadilan Agama Makassar, sejak diberlakukannya PERMA Nomor 1 Tahun 2019 sangat efektif dan sesuai dengan kondisi saat ini.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that poses a global health problem, including in DKI Jakarta, which has a high burden of Drug-Resistant TB (DR-TB). Sputum culture conversion is an important indicator in monitoring TB treatment. This study aims to evaluate the time to sputum culture conversion and identify its predictors among DR-TB patients in DKI Jakarta from 2020 to 2022 using a retrospective cohort design. The analyzed variables include resistance type, initial sputum, age, gender, previous treatment history, HIV comorbidity, Diabetes Mellitus comorbidity, type of healthcare facility, and DR-TB treatment regimen. Out of 936 analyzed patients, 82.05% experienced sputum culture conversion with a cumulative survival probability at the end of observation of 11.01% and an overall median survival of 3 months. Six variables were identified as predictors of sputum culture conversion time: resistance type, initial sputum, age, previous treatment history, type of healthcare facility, and treatment regimen used. This study is expected to provide valuable information for TB programs and serve as a reference for future research.

Abstract

Infeksi cacingan masih menjadi masalah kesehatan di masyarakat namun seringkali diabaikan. Anak-anak usia sekolah dasar merupakan kelompok yang rentan mengalami infeksi ini. Salah satu faktor risiko terjadinya infeksi cacingan adalah kebersihan tangan dan kuku yang buruk akibat rendahnya pengetahuan dan kesadaran dalam mencuci tangan dan memelihara kebersihan kuku. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi kesehatan tentang cacingan dan praktik mencuci tangan enam langkah menurut WHO. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah santri dan orangtua/wali santri Rumah Tahfidz Yatim Dhuafa Persaudaraan Muslimah Ilir Timur 2 (RTYD Salimah IT 2) yang berlokasi di Lorong Wiraguna, Kelurahan Kuto Batu, Kecamatan Ilir Timur 2, Kota Palembang. Edukasi dilakukan melalui beberapa metode yaitu pengisian kuesioner, pemeriksaan tinja, penyuluhan, dan praktik/peragaan cara mencuci tangan dan memotong kuku. Sebanyak 72 orang santri hadir dalam kegiatan dan mengisi kuesioner berisi pertanyaan mengenai cacingan, kebiasaan mencuci tangan, dan kebersihan kuku melalui observasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan psikomotor setelah diberikan edukasi terkait cacingan dan mencuci tangan. Pada pemeriksaan tinja ditemukan satu sampel yang positif cacing Ascaris lumbricoides. Peningkatan pemahaman mengenai bahaya cacingan diharapkan dapat menumbuhkan kesadaran dan kemandirian dalam pencegahan cacingan di keluarga dan masyarakat.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian menganalisis kewenangan hakim dalam menetapkan gugatan voluntair khususnya perihal yang menjadi pedoman hakim dalam menangani perkara permohonan yang belum diatur materi permohonannya dalam peraturan perundang-undangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian hukum empiris. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Pengadilan Negeri Majene tidak membatasi kewenangan yurisdiksinya hanya pada perkara permohonan yang secara eksplisit telah diatur dalam peraturan perundang-undangan. Hal ini tercermin dari data penetapan yang menunjukkan bahwa dari 51 perkara permohonan yang diajukan sejak tahun 2022 hingga 2025, terdapat 44 perkara yang dikabulkan meskipun materi permohonannya tidak diatur dalam regulasi formal. The research objective is to analyse the authority of judges in adjudicating voluntary claims, particularly concerning the legal guidelines used by judges when handling petition cases whose subject matter is not yet regulated by statutory law. This study employs an empirical legal research method. The findings reveal that the Majene District Court does not limit its jurisdiction solely to petitions explicitly stipulated in legislation. This is evidenced by the court’s decisions, which show that out of 51 petition cases submitted between 2022 and 2025, a total of 44 petitions were granted even though the subject matter was not regulated in any formal legislation.

Abstract

The phenomenon of the birth of civil case decisions that do not reflect the fairness and balance of litigants will injure justice and legal certainty. The legal principle of hearing parties is a manifestation of the principle of balance in the litigation process in court, but in practice this is often violated because there has been no strict sanction for violations of legal principles in judges' decisions, and is only subject to violations of the code of ethics. This has legal implications for the final decision, whether it provides justice and balance for the litigants. Similarly, the real truth of a formal nature will be sought in the trial of civil cases in a fair and balanced manner. Using qualitative approach methods with primary and secondary data sources which will then be analyzed in an analytical descriptive way to answer legal issues and research objectives. The results showed that the application of the principle of balance of parties in the trial of civil cases that are fair and balanced, does not cause problems if applied by judges in accordance with the process in the HIR / RBG legislation. But if it is the other way around, it will have implications for a final verdict that does not reflect the fairness, balance of the parties and the sense of justice of the community.

Abstract

Extensive and continuous use of pyrethroid insecticides to prevent the transmission of malaria can lead to mutations in the voltage gate sodium channel gene (VGSC) in mosquito vectors. This gene mutation associated with insensitivity pyrethroid is known as knockdown resistance (kdr). The emergence of resistance to pyrethroid insecticides in vector mosquitoes can be a barrier to the successful termination of malaria transmission. Therefore, detection of mutation is necessary to prevent the resistency from build up. The aim of the study was to determine the resistance status of pyrethroid insecticides and identify mutations in the VGSC gene codon 1014 marker for resistance to Anopheles sp. which is a malaria vector in South Sumatra Province. Samples were taken from three districts in South Sumatra: Muara Enim, OKU, and Lahat. The susceptibility enzymatic test of pyrethroid insecticide (permethrin 0.75%) was preliminarily carried out according to WHO 2016 standard on Anopheles vagus Dí¶nitz species. Identification of VGSC gene mutation was performed on all An. vagus that were previously tested for susceptibility and on An. barbirostris van der Wulp species using seminested-PCR and followed by sequencing. The result showed that samples from Muara Enim regency had resistance, whereas in Lahat and OKU regencies were still susceptible to permethrin. From the sequence analysis it is shown that there are no change in DNA kdr bases in VGSC gene insecticide target sites from all regencies. In conclusion, based on molecular studies, there were no pyrethroid insecticide resistance in South Sumatra Province.

Abstract

 The aim of the study was to analyse the direct and indirect effects of knowledge, attitudes, and eating behavior on anthropometry status and anemia incidence in female adolescents. This observational study employed case-control design and involved a total with total of female adolescents 117, classified into case groups (n=39) and control groups (n=78). The data were collected using questionnaires on knowledge and attitude about nutrition of anemia and eating behaviors, 2x24 hour food recall, Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ), anthropometry, and also Hb level measurement by Cyanmethemoglobin method. The data were analysed using path analysis. The results showed that there was a significant relationship (p<0.05) and direct effects between eating behavior on anthropometry status and incidence of anemia, which accounted for 66% and 22% respectively. There was no relationship (p>0.05) and indirect effects between attitude and incidence of anemia with value 4.1%. Eating behavior had a strong effect on anemia incidence through anthopometry in female adolescents.

Abstract

Menanam dengan sistem hidroponik menggunakan limbah botol plastik akan bermanfaat bagi lingkungan sekolah dan peserta didik. Dengan memanfaatkan limbah botol plastik dapat mengurangi sampah yang ada di sekolah dan peserta didik turut menjaga kelestarian lingkungan di sekolah. Tim KKN-T UNM desa Baturappe Kecamatan Biringbulu, Kabupaten Gowa melalui salah satu program kerjanya yaitu pelatihan budidaya tanaman hidroponik menjadi salah satu upaya  menggerakkan peserta didik SMPN 4 Biringbulu dan memberikan motivasi kepada peserta didi SMPN 4 Biringbulu.  Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan mulai pada tanggal 15 Oktober 2022 sampai tanggal 2 November 2022. Peserta didik melalui pelatihan budidaya tanaman hidroponik dapat berkreasi memanfaatkan  limbah botol plastik untuk bertanam secara hidroponik sebagai bentuk partisipasi dalam mengembangan pertanian modern. Selain itu peserta didik mendapatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam desain produk, serta pemasaran yang dapat memberikan peluang wirausaha.
