Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the group work method in increasing students’ active participation in Cultural Arts learning, specifically on the metal plate material at SMAN 7 Wajo, as well as to identify the obstacles faced by students during the group work process. The background of this research is based on the phenomenon of students’ lack of active involvement in group work activities, where most students tend to be passive and rely on a few dominant members. This condition leads to unequal contributions within groups and has an impact on the low achievement of overall learning objectives. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results indicate that the group work method has the potential to enhance students’ active participation; however, its effectiveness is highly dependent on teachers’ mentoring strategies, the management of group dynamics, as well as individual motivation and responsibility within the group. The obstacles encountered include low learning motivation, a lack of awareness of the importance of cooperation, and unequal task distribution

Abstract

This article discusses the philosophical studies of feminists (Simone de Beauvoir) and Islamic feminist theology (Riffat Hassan) and their impact on gender-responsive Islamic education in Indonesia. This study integrates secular and religious frameworks in the context of inclusive and emancipatory educational reform. Hassan's rereading of Islamic texts and canons highlights the patriarchal bias of the dominant interpretation and calls for a theology of gender justice and equal values for all people. On the other hand, de Beauvoir's existentialism, particularly the idea of women as the "Other," serves as a critique of the educational philosophy of deconstruction and reconstruction of the education system that supports gender inequality. These thinkers problematize the nature and role of gender that is taken for granted, showing how these roles are constructed, maintained and, in many cases, legitimized through networks of cultural and religious practices. The use of comparative philosophical approaches and the integration of sociological and historical frameworks allows this study to illuminate the ways in which traditional education systems re-educate gender inequality in a hidden way, through formal and informal culture and institutional structures, to the curriculum. de Beauvoir's humanistic existentialism called for the liberation of the individual from social shackles, while Hassan's reformist theology articulated a radical position on equality and a moral agency grounded in faith. However, in the Indonesian context, the promotion of Gender Mainstreaming in Islamic educational institutions is still very reactive to culture and structural constraints. This article argues that education based on respect for human beings and gender-friendly is an absolute prerequisite for creating a safe learning space for women. Curriculum reform, reinterpretation of gender-biased religious teachings and strengthening critical awareness among educators are one of the many homework and strategic steps in realizing equitable and gender-friendly Islamic education.

Abstract

This study aims to explore cultural values and social practices preserved by the community of Kampung Pasir Jengkol, Talagasari Village, Banjarwangi District, as a source of character education in basic education. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach using an ethnographic method. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving a traditional leader, a local ritual practitioner, and a young farmer. The results indicate that the community strongly upholds the value of gotong royong (mutual cooperation), reflected in collective activities such as house construction, village road development, and assistance during social and religious events. A distinctive wedding tradition involving collective participation and symbolic gifts strengthens social solidarity. In addition, the memenyan ritual conducted before the rice harvest represents spiritual gratitude and harmony between humans, nature, and God. Regular religious gatherings also contribute to strengthening moral values and social cohesion. These findings demonstrate that local cultural practices in Kampung Pasir Jengkol have significant potential as contextual learning resources for character education in elementary education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of survival skill activities in Scout Scouts on strengthening the independent dimension in students of SDN Banjar Timur I. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with additional quantitative analysis. The research design used was a case study with a sample of 30 students who actively participated in Scout Fundraising activities. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using descriptive statistics for quantitative data and thematic analysis for qualitative data. The results showed that there was a significant improvement in all indicators of self-sufficiency dimension after participating in survival skill activities. Before the activity, most of the students showed a low level of confidence, but after the activity, their confidence increased by 20%. Students' initiative, responsibility, and decision-making abilities have also experienced a significant increase. In addition, survival skills activities provide hands-on experience in facing challenges that increase a sense of responsibility and better decision-making in urgent situations. These findings indicate that Scouting activities, especially those related to survival skills, are effective in strengthening the independent dimension of elementary school students, which is in line with the goals of the Pancasila Student Profile.

Abstract

This study investigates the profound impact of cyberbullying on the mental health, specifically anxiety and depression levels, and academic performance of adolescents in Indonesian secondary schools. The rapid adoption of digital platforms has unfortunately turned cyberspace into a new arena for aggressive behavior, where the unique characteristics of anonymity, permanence, and broad reach intensify the psychological distress experienced by victims. Findings consistently reveal a significant correlation: victims of cyberbullying report substantially higher levels of anxiety and depression compared to their non-victimized peers. This emotional toll is mediated by factors such as chronic stress, fear of public humiliation, and feelings of helplessness, directly eroding self-esteem and overall psychological well-being. Furthermore, the internalizing disorders resulting from cyberbullying—anxiety and depression—act as crucial mediators, subsequently leading to a decline in academic outcomes, including reduced motivation, impaired concentration, and increased school absenteeism. The study underscores the urgency for holistic and integrated interventions that combine robust digital literacy programs, accessible mental health support within schools, and strengthened parental involvement to effectively mitigate the damaging effects of cyberbullying and safeguard the comprehensive well-being of adolescents.

Abstract

The cultivation of Pancasila values in the era of globalization faces significant challenges, including moral shifts and the fading of national identity among the younger generation. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of integrating local wisdom into Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKN) as a means of internalizing the nation's ideological values. Using a literature review method analyzing academic sources published between 2021 and 2025, this research examines various contextual approaches that bridge regional traditions with the principles of Pancasila. The findings indicate that local wisdom—encompassing customary laws, oral traditions, and local philosophies—functions as a living laboratory that renders civic education materials more relevant and accessible to students. This integration is proven to enhance the affective domain of learners, particularly in strengthening attitudes of tolerance, mutual cooperation (gotong royong), and patriotism. Furthermore, the use of culture-based learning media and digital technology to document regional values provides an innovative dimension to character education. The study concludes that the synergy between national curriculum standards and regional socio-cultural richness is crucial for developing citizens who are deeply rooted in their cultural identity yet remain open-minded.

Abstract

Gross motor skills involve the coordination of large muscle movements that emphasize physical strength, balance, and body control in early childhood. Body movement activities serve as effective stimulation to optimize children’s physical development. This study aims to determine the relationship between ablution (wudhu) movements and prayer (shalat) movements on the gross motor development of children aged 5–6 years at Khairunnisa Islamic Kindergarten, Jambi City. The research employed a quantitative correlational approach using the product-moment formula. The sampling technique applied was random sampling, involving 30 children for pilot testing and 52 children as the main research sample. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation, and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 25. The findings reveal a positive and significant relationship between ablution movements and prayer movements simultaneously on children’s gross motor development. The significance value for ablution movements was 0.023 and for prayer movements was 0.009, both indicating statistical significance. These results suggest that structured religious movement activities such as wudhu and shalat can contribute effectively to the improvement of gross motor skills in early childhood education. Therefore, integrating religious physical practices into daily learning activities may support both motor development and spiritual formation of young children.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between peer assessment and science learning outcomes in elementary education. The research method used a correlational quantitative approach, involving 90 sixth-grade students. Data were collected through a validated questionnaire containing 38 items measuring four dimensions: understanding, participation, perceived benefits, and socio-emotional impacts. Data analysis was conducted using prerequisite tests (Shapiro-Wilk normality test and linearity test through ANOVA) and hypothesis testing using Pearson correlation. The results of the normality test indicate that the peer assessment data and science learning outcomes are both normally distributed. The linearity test confirmed a significant linear relationship between the two variables without significant deviations from linearity. The Pearson correlation test revealed a significant and strong positive relationship between peer assessment and science learning outcomes, indicating that the higher the peer assessment, the higher the science learning outcomes achieved. It can be concluded that peer assessment is effectively implemented at the elementary education level and can be integrated as a formative assessment strategy to improve science learning outcomes.
