Abstract

This study explores the symbolic meanings of Toraja mortuary practices and their relationship to belief systems and social hierarchy. Drawing on ethnographic methods—participant observation of funeral ceremonies, semi-structured interviews, oral-tradition documentation, and archival research—the research examines burial forms at the Sillanan site in Tana Toraja, South Sulawesi. The findings reveal that Toraja burials, including Liang Sillik, Liang Erong, Liang Tokek, Liang Pak, and Patane, along with coffin types (erong) shaped as rectangles, buffalo, or boats, reflect a megalithic belief system that emphasizes the powerful influence of ancestral spirits on human welfare. These practices also encode social stratification: lower social groups were interred in simpler caves, while high-ranking nobles used elaborately carved boat- or buffalo-shaped coffins placed in elevated locations. The mortuary system illustrates a worldview in which life and death form a continuous cycle, where the spirit world (puya) mirrors earthly society. For archaeology, the ethnographic data provide an important analog for interpreting material remains, offering insights into the ideological and social frameworks that inform the creation, use, and deposition of artifacts. This research highlights how Toraja burial technology and rituals embody enduring connections between the living and the dead, as well as between belief, social order, and material culture.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of value-based learning in Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI). Value-based learning is expected to strengthen students' understanding of citizenship values including rights and obligations, democracy, and national and state life. The method used is a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving in-depth interviews with teachers and students, as well as observations of the learning process in the classroom. Data analysis was carried out using thematic analysis techniques to identify key themes related to the implementation and impact of value-based learning. The results of the study indicate that value-based learning has a positive impact on students' understanding of basic citizenship concepts, but its effectiveness is limited by factors such as uneven educational infrastructure, teacher skills in using learning technology, and students' difficulties in understanding abstract concepts. The implications of this study are the importance of improving the quality of teaching and educational infrastructure to support the optimal implementation of this method. This study recommends the need for teacher training and improving educational facilities to strengthen value-based learning in MI.

Abstract

Anemia menjadi salah satu masalah pada remaja di Indonesia. Kejadian anemia lebih sering terjadi pada remaja perempuan daripada remaja laki-laki. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan remaja mengenai anemia dan pengetahuan mengenai nutrisi adekuat dalam pencegahan anemia. Metode dalam kegiatan pengabdian meliputi pemberian pretest dan posttest, pendidikan kesehatan  mengenai anemia dan nutrisi adekuat dalam mencegah anemia. Kegiatan pengabdian menggunakan media berupa leaflet, powerpoint presentation dan vidio. Pengukuran pengetahuan dengan kuesioner. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Gombong pada kelas XI sebanyak 80 siswa. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan tren pengetahuan yang meningkat berdasarkan hasil postest yaitu sebanyak 81,25% siswa mempunyai pengetahuan baik tentang anemia dan sebanyak 77,75% siswa mempunyai pengetahuan baik mengenai nutrisi adekuat dalam pencegahan anemia. Kesimpulannya pendidikan kesehatan pada remaja melalui media leaflet, powerpoint presentation dan vidio dapat meningkatkan perubahan tingkat pengetahuan bagi remaja sekolah di SMA Muhammadiyah Gombong. Kegiatan ini perlu terus dilakukan upaya koordinasi dengan pihak sekolah agar dapat memantau serta berkoordinasi dengan Puskesmas setempat agar melakukan follow up kegiatan secara berkelanjutan. Sangat diperlukan pembentukan kelompok sebaya atau pojok informasi kesehatan disekolah dalam meningkatkan upaya pencegahan terjadinya anemia pada remaja.

Abstract

The jastip (personal shopper) business has become a popular trend in Indonesia in recent years. In the context of trade and consumption, jastip refers to a service where someone (jastip provider or personal shopper) offers to buy goods from a particular place or store at the request of another person (consumer). In return, the jastip provider will usually charge a service fee or commission on top of the price of the goods purchased. The research in this article aims to examine the factors that influence Purchase Intention on jastip, especially in generation Z, using the variables Brand Image, Service Quality, Social Media Quality, and Price Perception mediated by Trust. The study uses primary data that has been processed through the distribution of questionnaires in the form of Google Forms to the Batam City Community who have used jastip. A total of 311 respondent data that meet the criteria and are then processed using the SPSS program for respondent demographic data analysis and the SmartPLS program for hypothesis testing. The results of the study indicate that Brand Image, Service Quality, Social Media Quality, and Price Perception have a significant positive effect on Purchase Intention through Trust mediation. This study shows the importance of Trust as a mediator that connects all variables in influencing Purchase Intention towards Jastip among Generation Z in Batam City.

Abstract

Stunting merupakan masalah gizi kronis yang tidak hanya dipengaruhi oleh asupan makanan, tetapi juga oleh kondisi kesehatan gigi dan mulut, terutama pada ibu hamil dan balita. Karies dan infeksi mulut dapat mengganggu proses makan serta penyerapan nutrisi, sehingga berdampak pada pertumbuhan anak. Materi edukasi berfokus pada pemanfaatan pangan lokal yang tidak hanya berperan dalam meningkatkan asupan gizi dan mengurangi risiko stunting, tetapi juga membantu proses self cleansing serta mendukung kesehatan gigi dan mulut, seperti madu hutan, ikan lambak, nanas, buah senduduk dan bahan pangan lokal lainnya. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Desa Simpang Sungai Duren, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi, pada minggu pertama dan keempat bulan Agustus 2025. Metode kegiatan meliputi pre-test kuesioner pengetahuan dan observasi teknik menyikat gigi menggunakan pantom, penyuluhan tentang menjaga kesehatan gigi dengan pemanfaatan bahan lokal, demonstrasi menyikat gigi bersama, serta pembagian modul dan bahan pangan. Pertemuan kedua mencakup post-test, observasi ulang, dan diskusi penguatan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata skor pengetahuan dari 8,06 menjadi 8,11 (p=0,894) dan sikap dari 9,49 menjadi 9,57 (p=0,785), namun keduanya tidak signifikan. Sebaliknya, perilaku kader meningkat signifikan dari 13,77 menjadi 22,00 (p=0,000). Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa edukasi berbasis bahan lokal efektif dalam mengubah perilaku kader, memperkuat peran UKGMD, dan mendukung pencegahan stunting di tingkat desa.

Abstract

This study aims to elucidate Persis's pivotal role in fostering the growth of Islamic boarding school institutions in Indonesia between 1923 and 1962. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, this research utilizes library research methods and content analysis. Primary sources include the Sipatahoenan Newspaper and Bendera Islam. The findings reveal that Persis's emphasis on primary and secondary education has culminated in the establishment of 230 Islamic Unity Islamic Boarding Schools nationwide. Moreover, Persis has notably founded the Islamic Education University as a tertiary-level institution. The organization also facilitates courses and discussion forums addressing religious matters and disseminates literature to advance the discourse on Islamic propagation and education renewal. Regarding the educational curriculum, Persis integrates Islamic studies, Quranic teachings, and Hadith studies with conventional education. However, challenges persist in the operational aspects of Islamic educational institutions, necessitating enhancements in management practices, augmenting educational facilities, and bolstering the quality of human resources.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the background of the establishment of the Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah Educational Institution and the education system at the Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah Educational Institution. The type of research used in this study is library research. The point is to answer the problem formulation, the author collects data from books, journals, scientific papers, and so on. The study also used an induction and deduction approach where the collected data was drawn to generalizations to conclusions. The results of this research are the background for the establishment of the Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah Educational Institute. The organization was founded in 1914 by Sheikh Ahmad Surkati Al-Anshori, a great cleric from Mecca who came from Sudan. Al-Irshad Al-Islamiyyah focuses on education, teaching, social, and da'wah at the national level. Al-Irshad Al-Islamiyyah is committed to purifying the teachings of Islam, expanding science, and developing a civilized and Islamic moral society. Al-Irshad Al-Islamiyyah aims to purify tawhid, worship and amaliyah Islam. Engaged in education and da'wah. To realize this goal, AI Irsyad has established hundreds of formal schools and non-formal educational institutions throughout Indonesia. And in its later development, Al-Irshad activities also penetrated the health sector, by establishing several hospitals. The largest are currently Al-Irsyad Hospital in Surabaya and RS. Siti Khadijah in Pekalongan.

Abstract

Islamic education in Indonesia has experienced rapid development alongside the growth of the Muslim population. This paper discusses the role of Integrated Islamic Schools (IIS) as a new trend in Islamic education in Indonesia. This article analyzes the historical development of Islamic education, the role of IIS in facing the challenges of modernization, and its impact on Indonesian Muslim society. In the context of the development of Islamic education, there has been significant transformation during the reform era, including changes in the national education system. Islamic education is no longer confined to traditional models, and the emergence of IIS in several major cities marks a step towards the modernization of Islamic educationThis article employs a qualitative descriptive research method focusing on data analysis from various sources, including books, journals, and relevant publications. The research findings indicate that IIS, as part of the Integrated Islamic Schools Network of Indonesia, has attracted public attention, especially in major cities. Despite the high cost of education, IIS is considered an alternative Islamic education that combines Islamic values with a modern approach.

Abstract

Improving the quality of education can be done using various methods and approaches. Education units experience shortcomings and weaknesses in implementing quality improvement methods based on the results of analysis and facts that occur in the field. Therefore, appropriate strategic planning is needed by educational units. In other words, strategic planning in primary and secondary education units needs to be improved to realize better quality education. The aim of this research is to discover and describe the importance of strategic planning to improve the quality of school education using SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats). This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Research object at SDN Duri Kosambi 01. Data collection methods through interviews, observation and document analysis. The research results show that (1) SWOT analysis of the internal environment has more advantages (Strengths) than disadvantages (Weaknesses); (2) Opportunities are greater than risks in the SWOT analysis of the external environment; (3) Using SWOT analysis in strategic planning can improve the quality of education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pemanfaatan kerang pesisir sebagai media pembelajaran di Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) melalui pendekatan Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Pembelajaran di PAUD menuntut pendekatan yang menyenangkan, kontekstual, dan berbasis lingkungan, namun inovasi media ajar berbahan lokal seperti kerang pesisir masih sangat terbatas. Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis 137 artikel dari database Publish or Perish, yang kemudian diseleksi secara ketat menggunakan pedoman PRISMA, hingga diperoleh 10 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kerang pesisir memiliki potensi besar dalam meningkatkan perkembangan motorik halus, kreativitas, pemahaman konsep sains dan matematika dasar, serta menanamkan nilai cinta lingkungan dan kearifan lokal pada anak. Kerang juga mudah diperoleh, ramah lingkungan, dan mampu mengintegrasikan berbagai aspek pembelajaran secara interdisipliner. Oleh karena itu, pemanfaatan kerang pesisir sebagai media ajar merupakan alternatif strategis yang edukatif, ekonomis, dan kontekstual, serta layak dikembangkan dalam kurikulum PAUD berbasis lingkungan dan budaya lokal.
