Abstract

Background: Passing and crossing efficiency are recognized as key factors in football performance, yet their contextual influence in Southeast Asian competitions has been underexplored. The 2024 Mitsubishi Electric Cup offers a vital setting to examine how these technical indicators affect team tactics and rankings within the region's evolving football landscape.Aims: This study aims to analyze team distribution performance through accurate passes, pass success rates, and crossing accuracy, and to determine how these variables relate to team rankings and tactical strategies in both offensive and defensive phases. Methods: A quantitative approach was employed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and regression analysis. Data were collected from official tournament databases. The independent variables were accurate passes, pass success rate, and crossing accuracy, while team ranking served as the dependent variable. Results: Data from ten teams were analyzed. Thailand recorded the highest pass success rate (85%) and passing volume (3,373 passes), showing strong possession control. Vietnam achieved the highest crossing accuracy (60%), indicating effective wide-play. Correlation analysis revealed a moderate relationship between pass success rate and crossing accuracy (r = 0.65, p < 0.05). Regression results confirmed that pass success rate significantly predicted passing volume (R² = 0.45, p < 0.05).Conclusion: Teams with higher pass accuracy demonstrated superior control and competitive performance, while crossing efficiency was more context-dependent. Coaches and federations should emphasize structured passing drills and possession-based play, integrating crossing strategies selectively. Future studies should apply AI-assisted tactical modeling to enhance distribution and performance analysis in regional and global football

Abstract

This systematic literature review examines how differentiated instruction, physical fitness, and learning motivation independently and interactively influence learning outcomes in physical education (PE). Drawing on peer-reviewed national and international studies published between 2018 and 2025, the review synthesizes evidence related to pedagogical practices, students’ physical readiness, and motivational processes in school-based PE. The findings indicate that differentiated instruction consistently enhances engagement and learning readiness, although its direct effects on psychomotor outcomes, particularly at the secondary level, remain limited. Physical fitness shows a stable association with motor performance and participation, while autonomous motivation supports sustained effort and persistence. However, most studies examine these factors in isolation, offering limited insight into their combined effects. This review highlights a clear gap in integrative research and underscores the need for comprehensive instructional models that align pedagogical, physiological, and motivational dimensions to improve PE learning outcomes.

Abstract

Technical mastery of the Dollyo Chagi kick in martial arts learning is not solely determined by isolated physical abilities but emerges from the interaction of physical and psychological factors. Previous studies have predominantly examined flexibility, explosive power, and motivation separately, resulting in fragmented understanding of their combined role in technical skill development. This narrative review aims to synthesize and conceptualize the interrelated contributions of flexibility, lower-limb explosive power, and motivation in learning and executing the Dollyo Chagi kick. A qualitative narrative synthesis was conducted on peer-reviewed national and international literature published between 2018 and 2025, selected through purposive sampling. The findings indicate that flexibility functions as a biomechanical prerequisite enabling effective movement range and technical control, while explosive power acts as a performance amplifier that enhances kick speed and force when technical foundations are established. Motivation emerges as a psychological mediator that sustains training engagement and supports consistent skill acquisition. This review highlights the need for an integrated training and pedagogical approach, providing a conceptual framework to inform future empirical research and evidence-based coaching in martial arts education.

Abstract

This study investigates the direct and indirect effects of arm muscle strength, wrist flexibility, and problem-solving ability on shooting accuracy among female Petanque athletes in West Sumatra. Forty athletes were purposively sampled based on active participation in training and competition. Arm muscle strength was measured using a medicine ball throw, wrist flexibility with a goniometer, problem-solving ability via a Likert-scale questionnaire, and shooting accuracy using the standardized FIPJP test. Path analysis revealed that wrist flexibility (β = 0.324, p = 0.046) and problem-solving ability (β = 0.329, p = 0.026) significantly contribute to shooting accuracy, while arm muscle strength showed a positive but non-significant effect (β = 0.269, p = 0.071). Wrist flexibility also significantly influenced problem-solving ability (β = 0.519, p = 0.003), indicating an indirect pathway. These findings suggest that precision-based performance in Petanque relies more on fine motor control and cognitive decision-making than brute strength, and that training programs should emphasize wrist mobility and cognitive drills. Future research should expand participant diversity, include additional physical and psychological factors, and adopt longitudinal or experimental designs to clarify causal relationships.

Abstract

Exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (EIB) significantly impacts athletes by impairing their performance and overall health. Characterized by airway narrowing during or after physical activity, EIB affects the quality of training and competition. This study employs a qualitative descriptive research model based on a comprehensive literature review to evaluate EIB management strategies in athletes. We systematically collected data from trusted scientific databases—Scopus, Science Direct, and Google Scholar—using keywords such as "Exercise-Induced Asthma," "Athlete," and "Sport." Relevant articles were identified, and key terms related to EIB management were reviewed. The data, including study designs, research objectives, sample sizes, and findings, were compiled and analyzed to determine effective management approaches. Key findings indicate that accurate diagnosis using spirometry and bronchial provocation tests is essential. Pharmacological management primarily involves inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) to reduce inflammation and control EIB, while short-acting beta agonists (SABAs) offer only temporary relief. Non-pharmacological strategies include avoiding triggers, implementing proper warm-up routines, and using breathing techniques. Supervised aerobic exercise programs were shown to improve cardiovascular fitness without worsening EIB symptoms. The study also reviewed the impact of environmental factors, such as air pollution and post-COVID-19 conditions, on EIB. Recommendations include personalized asthma action plans, training for coaches on environmental triggers, and exercising in controlled conditions. This study highlights the need for a holistic approach combining pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods to manage EIB effectively and maintain athletic performance. Further research is warranted to develop tailored strategies for athletes with EIB.
