Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) mengkaji peran penyuluh swasta dalam pemberdayaan berbasis biocyclo farming (BCF) dan perubahan perilaku masyarakat dalam praktik BCF, dan (2) menganalisis faktor-faktor penentu keberhasilan pemberdayaan BCF. Metode kuantitatif yang diperkuat dengan data kualitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Populasi penelitian adalah sekelompok petani yang menerapkan inovasi BCF di lokasi penelitian. Petani individu yang menerapkan BCF merupakan unit analisis dalam penelitian ini. Lokasi kajian dilakukan pada lima desa di Provinsi Jawa Barat, dengan 102 responden. Data dikumpulkan dari bulan Juli hingga Agustus 2022. Analisis deskriptif dan korelasional dilakukan dengan bantuan software SPSS. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa penyuluh swasta telah berperan dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat. Upaya pemberdayaan masyarakat tersebut menghasilkan perubahan perilaku, baik pada tingkat individu maupun komunitas. Perubahan pada tingkat individu meliputi perubahan pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan. Perubahan pada tingkat komunitas adalah penggunaan praktik pertanian baru BCF. Terjadinya perubahan perilaku petani dipengaruhi oleh kapasitas penyuluh swasta dan partisipasi masyarakat melalui proses dialog dan komunikasi konvergen yang dibangun oleh penyuluh swasta tersebut.

The low level of community participation in the maintenance of village irrigation structures is inseparable from the role of local leadership. Community participation is made by the condition of society and strong relationship of the leaders with the community in building a village. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the relationship of internal factors, external factors of society, local leadership with the prerequisite of participation and the relationship between the prerequisite of participation with the level of community participation in the maintenance of irrigation structures in Sukawangi Village. This research uses survey method using quantitative approach supported with relevant qualitative data. The results of this research indicate that is the internal factors of society did not appear to be related to the prerequisite of community participation. External factors of society have important role in fulfillment of the prerequisite of participation. Local leadership plays a significant role in fulfillment of the prerequisite of participation. The prerequisite of participation is significantly related to the level of community participation in the maintenance of irrigation structures.Keywords: Local Leadership, Maintenance of irrigation structures, ParticipationABSTRAKRendahnya tingkat partisipasi masyarakat dalam pemeliharaan jaringan irigasi desa tidak terlepas dari peran pemimpin lokal. Partisipasi masyarakat terbentuk oleh kondisi masyarakat dan kuatnya hubungan pemimpin dengan masyarakat dalam membangun suatu desa. Tujuan penulisan ini adalah untuk menganalisis hubungan faktor internal, faktor eksternal masyarakat, kepemimpinan lokal dengan prasyarat partisipasi dan hubungan antara prasyarat partisipasi dengan tingkat partisipasi masyarakat dalam pemeliharaan jaringan irigasi di Desa Sukawangi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif didukung dengan data kualitatif yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa antara faktor internal masyarakat tidak tampak berhubungan dengan prasyarat partisipasi masyarakat. Faktor eksternal masyarakat berperan penting dalam terpenuhinya prasyarat partisipasi. Kepemimpinan lokal berperan nyata terhadap terpenuhinya prasyarat partisipasi. Prasyarat partisipasi berhubungan nyata dengan tingkat partisipasi masyarakat dalam pemeliharaan jaringan irigasi.Kata kunci : Kepemimpinan lokal, Partisipasi, Pemeliharaan jaringan irigasi

Virtual communities refer to people who use and share information on social media through the Internet. A virtual community that cares about the Halal lifestyle creates and shares content widely using Instagram to raise people’s awareness of halal food. This article explores the use of Instagram in sharing information on halal food. This article is qualitative in nature and applies Virtual ethnography. The research subjects are the Halal Corner team and followers. The data is collected through observation, interview, and documentation. They are analyzed using the virtual ethnography method by Boellstorff. This article finds numerous reasons to share information on halal food through Halal Corner Instagram. The reasons are effective communication, social connectedness, content production, content characteristics and features, and reliable information source.

Abstract. Nowadays, the world is experiencing climate change and water pollution which can have bad impact on many aspects. Thus, the purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between media synchronicity and task performance and communication performance in rehabilitating rivers from domestic waste in the Citarum Harum program. This study uses survey and the withdrawal technique uses multi-clustering, by choosing an area that is very close to the river which is the target of the Citarum Harum Program. The population is taken from two villages in Bandung Regency with heavily polluted river water quality status and uses multiple correlation coefficients and structural equation modeling partial least squares 3 as the data analysis technique. It shows a weak relationship between communication process variables and task performance and a negative relationship between the effects of moderation on communication performance. So, it is necessary to develop further models to improve these sub-variables.

The aim of this research was to know the implementation of a partnership between sugar mill and sugar cane farmer folk and its relationship to the effectiveness of partnership and community empowerment. This research was conducted in PG Jatitujuh, Majalengka, Province of West Java. Research approach designed by survey, the research respondents were 46 farmer group chairmen. The research uses quantitative and qualitative statistical method with Rank Spearman Correlation to examine variables. Results showed that the partnership helps in empowering the community and increasing the effectiveness of the partnership.

In any civilization, peacefulness or non-violence culture could be the ultimate end of human life. It contains human right principles to be achieved by community, civics, and nation. Albeit, in reality, the situation achieved is diametrically in the opposite to what expected where competition, contravention and social conflict arises very sharply unless a constructive conflict management is applied. The potentiality of social conflict to occur may be reduced to a tolerable rate when constructive dialogues can be built. The dialogues should be able to facilitate the development of convergence communication and the actualization of equality principles. Higher education processes will be one the most important institutions that could bring the actualization of the principles of peacefulness into reality. This could be true when education could assure the effectiveness of value transformation processes throughout generations. The role of high education institutions to make non-violence culture to become apparent is essential. The dynamic life in a peaceful culture can only be realized when a situation of welfare, equality and well expression of communication behavior are well maintained in the community life.

Ketidakberdayaan petani disebabkan karena petani tidak cukup mampu untuk menggunakan peralatan produksi secara optimal. Ketidakberdayaan juga disebabkan oleh kurang kompetensinya petani dalam memasarkan produk pertaniannya. Melalui kelompok tani, pemerintah telah melakukan proses pengajaran yang potensial dan pemberdayaan untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup petani. Dalam proses pemberdayaan kelompok tani ini, membutuhkan peran pemimpin untuk mendorong aktivitas pemberdayaan. Pemimpin memiliki peran yang penting untuk mempengaruhi dan memotivasi petani untuk mencapai tujuannya secara bersama-sama melalui kelompok tani. Tujuan penelitian ini. yaitu untuk menganalisis hubungan antara kepemimpinan dengan proses pemberdayaan kelompok tani, menganalisis hubungan antara proses pemberdayaan dengan tingkat pemberdayaan, juga menganalisis hubungan antara faktor pribadi dan faktor lingkungan dengan proses pemberdayaan. Metode yang digunakan adalah survey yang didukung pendekatan kualitatif dengan wawancara mendalam kepada narasumber. Hasil penelitian ini diolah menggunakan Rank Spearman dan Chi-Square. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada Kelompok Tani Bina Sejahtera di Desa Situ Udik, Kecamatan Cibungbulang, Bogor dan Kelompok Tani Hurip di Desa Cikarawang, Kecamatan Dramaga, Kabupaten Bogor. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan hubungan positif nyata antara kepemimpinan dengan proses pemberdayaan, sementara proses pemberdayaan tidak berhubungan positif nyata dengan tingkat pemberdayaan. Beberapa faktor pribadi menunjukkan hubungan positif nyata dengan tingkat pemberdayaan. Kata kunci : kelompok tani, kepemimpinan, pemberdayaan petani

Marine climate change has resulted in a decline in the economic level of fishermen, especially small-scale fishermen who depend on marine resources to meet their daily needs. In addition, the poverty experienced by fishermen reflects economic vulnerability due to low and unstable incomes, which are caused by fluctuating market prices, a lack of alternative livelihoods, insufficient cooperation and support networks, and the prevalence of illegal fishing practices. By carrying out dialogue in the public sphere effectively, a supportive environment can be created for small-scale fishermen to optimize the potential of the public sphere in improving the family economy through increasing human resource skills. In this framework, coastal women play a vital role in the economic activities of small-scale fishermen's households through alternative economies. This research aims to investigate the role of dialogue in the public sphere to improve the economy of small-scale fishermen in coastal areas and explore the role of women in efforts to improve the family economy. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. The research results show that dialogue in the public sphere has been recognized as a means of building better understanding between various parties in society, as well as the importance of involving women in family economic decision-making. This research provides implications from the concept of dialogue theory in the public sphere, reflecting the concept of community participation and creating mutual agreement through open communication and the exchange of ideas in formulating solutions to improve the family economy.

This study aims to analyze the communication strategy of the agricultural insurance program in the South Kalimantan region to create superior and independent farmers. This communication strategy can contribute to existing development programs in the South Kalimantan region. This research used qualitative methods with SWOT and TOWS analysis techniques. Data collection techniques were open interviews, focus group discussions (FGD), and field observations (research locations and district level). The results of the study showed that agricultural insurance in the South Kalimantan region had obstacles that occurred in the field, many farmers needed help understanding and were not interested in participating in this rice farming insurance. First, the analysis of the agricultural insurance communication strategy in the SWOT analysis in the South Kalimantan region was to increase the quality capacity of government human resources in the field by providing socialization technical training and involving opinion leaders, groups, and village governments in disseminating information. Second, the communication strategy in the TOWS analysis was to optimize the existing social capital in the community, form an information centers at the village level, add variety and diversity in the methods of conveying information by extension workers and Jasindo officers and provide a variety of media sources of information, especially social media, and internet. The agricultural insurance communication strategis important to policymakers in implementing development programs.

This research was conducted referring to the theoretical elements of development communication, while the practical techniques used were not considered. The purpose of this study is to describe the conditions and problems faced by the community in Timor Tengah Selatan Regency (TTS), especially those who carry out people's weaving business and analyze the development communication that occurs in the TTS Regency community. Qualitative methods are used to interpret real-world social problems, including people's behavior, perceptions, and experiences. This study used secondary data. Researchers use dissertations, scientific journals, the internet, and data from related agencies to gather this data. Furthermore, the authors conducted direct interviews with a group of people's weaving craftsmen under the guidance of the Department of Trade, Industry, Cooperatives, and SMEs in the TTS Regency. This study found that development communication in an area has not yet led to empowerment. On the other hand, the dynamics of power between the elderly and the younger generation will continue to be a hallmark of society. Therefore, development communication must be carried out to facilitate the communication structure of different local cultures, and to encourage empowerment not only for parents but also for the younger generation.
