Abstract

Operational planning within agricultural production systems plays a pivotal role in facilitating farmers' decision-making processes. This study introduces a novel mathematical model aimed at optimizing plant maintenance planning through the efficient allocation of labor, optimal utilization of machinery, and strategic scheduling. Utilizing mixed integer non-linear programming (MINLP), the model integrates lean principles to minimize waste and improve operational efficiency. The primary contributions of this study include the development of a comprehensive maintenance planning model, the application of advanced mathematical techniques in agriculture, and the enhancement of resource allocation strategies. The results demonstrate significant improvements in maintenance task scheduling, reduced downtime, and enhanced productivity, ultimately contributing to sustainable farming practices and food security. This model serves as a strategic decision-support tool for farmers, enabling data-driven planning and resource utilization to achieve both short-term efficiency and long-term agricultural viability.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of Beauveria bassiana in controlling Plutella xylostella pests. The first stage of the experiment was conducted in vitro at the Pest and Disease Laboratory of UMSIDA by testing the ability of B. bassiana at spore densities of 100, 103, 105, and 107 CFU.mL-1 in inactivating P. xylostella caterpillars. The field application test was carried out on land endemic to leaf caterpillar pests in Seloliman Village, Mojokerto, East Java Province, Indonesia. The experiment was arranged in a Randomized Block Design with four B. bassiana spore density treatments repeated four times. Observations were made on the intensity of attack as well as wet weight and dry weight of plants. Data analysis used ANOVA followed by Duncan's test at the 5% test level to determine differences between treatments. The results showed that B. bassiana effectively deactivated the activity up to 60.2% in the application with a spore density of 107. The application of B. bassiana reduced the intensity of P. xylostella pest attack to 63.41% and increased the wet weight and dry weight of kale leaves by 246.0%. and 305.8% compared without B. bassiana application. The application of this entomopathogenic fungus can be a solution for controlling pests on land that is endemic to leaf caterpillar attacks

Abstract

Planning models for sustainable crop care in the context of smart agriculture are complex issues as they involve many factors such as productivity, quality, growth sustainability, workforce use, and information technology use. In this study, we will create an optimized model using a convolution neural network (CNN) that can classify and monitor plant diseases. Part of the plant care system is to be aware of plant diseases and to be able to deal with them immediately. This study aims to acquire a new smart farming model for integrated crop care. The results of this research are findings in the form of a CNN model for classifying plant diseases detected from the leaves of the plants studied in oil palm. Testing using Google Colab obtains 100% accuracy and 99% accuracy using a teachable machine. The contributions of this paper create a new model in the field of informatics, especially in the field of intelligent agriculture based on information technology.

Abstract

Chicken meat is a highly sought-after food product among various segments of the general population, known for its high nutritional value and easy accessibility. Presently, meat identification is primarily conducted manually, relying on visual inspection or tactile assessment of the meat's color and texture. However, this approach presents several limitations, particularly when consumers lack the discernment to differentiate the quality of chicken meat freshness. This research aims to identify the freshness level of chicken meat using the Support Vector Machine method, employing the extraction of RGB color moment features to determine the freshness of the meat. The feature extraction process involves calculating the percentage of intensity values for R (Red), G (Green), and B (Blue) in each chicken meat image. Based on the image processing results, the percentage of intensity values, particularly in the R and B parameters, can be used as determining factors. The study involves software testing using fresh and non-fresh chicken meat. The developed system can identify the freshness level of fresh chicken meat with an accuracy rate of 71.6% using the linear kernel SVM and 60.5% using the RBF kernel SVM.  This research represents a significant step toward the automation of chicken meat freshness assessment, potentially reducing food waste and enhancing food safety in the food industry. Further research and development could improve the system's accuracy and expand its applications in various food quality control settings.Chicken meat is a highly sought-after food product among various segments of the general population, known for its high nutritional value and easy accessibility.
