Abstract

The main problem in the cultivation of tomato plants in Indonesia are not available varieties of potentially high yield, good fruit quality and can adapt well to the low altitude. Therefore, the assembly of superior varieties of tomatoes low altitude are needed. Research objective is to determine the genetic diversity, heritability and determine the relationship between the characters for the assembly of tomato varieties are high yielding lowland. The experiments were performed using the Randomized Complete Block Design the single factor that genotype by 20 with three replications. The results showed there are six characters that have a broad genetic diversity and high heritability, namely plant height, leaf length and width, number of fruits per plant, fruit length and width. Correlation analysis between characters indicate the number of fruits per plant suitable for use as a character selection for yield potential. Number of fruits per plant of the highest owned by IPB T23. Fruit weight per plant of the highest owned by IPB T 1.

Abstract

Feed supplement is useful as a growth promoter, increasing efficiency and feed consumption, helping digestion and metabolism, and improving the quality of livestock products. The aim of this community service is to apply appropriate technology to utilize mangosteen peel and turmeric as feed supplement for poultry in Sukanagalih Village, Tasikmalaya Regency, as well as produce quality feed supplement and improve the skills of farmers in processing the supplement feed. This community service activity is one of the Kosabangsa programs between the Universitas Perjuangan Tasikmalaya as the implementation team and the IPB University as the accompanying team. This activity started from September to December 2023 in Sukanagalih Village, Rajapolah District, Tasikmalaya Regency. The method for implementing this activity consists of counseling, training, and assistance to livestock groups. The target partners for this activity were Kelompok Megar Bebek Cihateup and the Berdikari Village-Owned Enterprise (Bumdes Berdikari) with a total of 20 participants each, so the total participants are 40 people. The level of community empowerment increased to 80 – 85% in the knowledge, skills, accessibility, and income categories. The results of this activity are very beneficial for the community, where the application of appropriate technology for processing mangosteen peel and turmeric as feed supplements can increase the added value and selling value of agro-industrial waste products in Tasikmalaya Regency. The application of appropriate technology for the use of supplement feed is able to increase the knowledge and skills of the community in Sukanagalih Village, Tasikmalaya Regency in processing feed supplements.

Abstract

To identify novel advancements in plant diseases detection and classification systems employing Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), and Transfer Learning (TL), this research compiled 111 peer-reviewed papers published between 2019 and early 2023. The literature was sourced from databases such as Scopus and Web of Science using keywords related to deep learning and leaf disease. A structured analysis of various plant disease classification models is presented through tables and graphics. This paper systematically reviews the model approaches employed, datasets utilized, countries involved, and the validation and evaluation methods applied in plant disease identification. Each algorithm is annotated with suitable processing techniques, such as image segmentation and feature extraction, along with standard experimental metrics, including the total number of training/testing datasets utilized, the quantity of disease images considered, and the classifier type employed. The findings of this study serve as a valuable resource for researchers seeking to identify specific plant diseases through a literature-based approach. Additionally, the implementation of mobile-based applications using the DL approach is expected to enhance agricultural productivity.

Abstract

Cayenne pepper is one of the important horticultural commodities and has high economic value for Indonesian people. The demand for cayenne pepper in Indonesia was relatively high, especially for household consumption. Therefore, superior varieties were needed to meet the needs of cayenne pepper in Indonesia. One way to guarantee the superiority of varieties and the validity of variety descriptions was to conduct yield testing. Our research aims to evaluate the performance and yield of seven genotypes of cayenne pepper. This research was carried out from March 2023 to September 2023 at Leuwikopo Experimental Garden, IPB University. It consisted of one factor: ten genotypes (seven genotypes and three control varieties). Experimental design in our research using randomized complete block design with three replications. The results showed that there were differences in performance and yield between cayenne pepper genotypes. The flowering ages of all genotypes ranged from 41.33 - 45.67 DAP with the harvest ages ranging from 83.33 - 92.67 DAP. The percentage of plants observed at the end of harvest ranged from 37.50 - 70.83% with the Rawita F1 variety showing the lowest percentage (37.50%). F1.372340 genotype was the highest productivity genotype, reaching 4.80 t.ha-1. The productivity of F1.372340 was higher than control varieties, which ranged from 1.48 to 2.72 t.ha-1. Line’s genotype had a shelf life ranging from 9.30 - 15.00 DAH which was the same or better than the control varieties which ranged from 9.67-12.33 DAH.

Abstract

Ganoderma boninense attack and its rapid spread in oil palm plantations have caused significant economic losses. The use of Ganoderma resistant plant materials can be a solution, but the allelic segregation that occurs causes not all DxP progeny obtained have the nature of resistance to Ganoderma. The role of molecular markers is needed to assist initial selection of Ganoderma resistant DxP progenies in nurseries. This study aims to identify targeted SNP markers from the Laccase-24 gene (EgLCC24), which is thought to play a role in oil palm resistance to Ganoderma. Three oil palm DxP populations were used in this study, namely populations A, B, and C. Ganoderma screening in nurseries was carried out on these three populations to obtain progeny samples with resistant and susceptible phenotypes, which were then further analyzed. The methods used include SNP analysis and the use of SNAP primers for marker development. The SNP differences obtained from this study led to amino acid changes, but did not cause stop codons. The validation results using SNAP primers on the Laccase-24 gene showed that DxP progeny from populations A, B, and C relatively have moderate allele characteristics of Ganoderma resistance.

Abstract

Kecipir merupakan tanaman pangan sumber protein dan berpotensi sebagai alternatif kedelai. Peningkatan produksi tanaman kecipir dapat dilakukan melalui perluasan areal tanam, pemuliaan, dan peningkatan produktivitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan karakter pertumbuhan tanaman, produksi polong muda dan biji kecipir dengan berbagai teknik penggunaan ajir dan mulsa. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan IPB Cikarawang, Bogor, Jawa Barat sejak bulan Maret sampai September 2021. Percobaan menggunakan kecipir varietas Melody IPB dan terdiri atas dua percobaan yaitu produksi polong muda dan produksi biji kering. Setiap percobaan menggunakan Rancangan Kelompok Lengkap Teracak (RKLT) dengan satu faktor dengan tiga ulangan. Faktor yang digunakan adalah pengaturan ajir dan mulsa terdiri atas (1) menggunakan ajir + mulsa, (2) menggunakan mulsa, (3) menggunakan ajir, (4) tanpa ajir dan mulsa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan ajir dan mulsa menghasilkan produktivitas yang lebih tinggi untuk produksi polong muda (5.01 ton ha-1) dan biji kecipir (2.04 ton ha-1) dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya. Produktivitas polong muda yang dibudidayakan dengan menggunakan ajir nyata lebih tinggi daripada dengan mulsa saja, sedangkan untuk produktivitas biji kering tidak berbeda nyata antara yang dengan ajir maupun dengan mulsa saja. Abstract

Penelitian tentang pengelolaan ekstrakurikuler paskibra di Madrasah Aliyah Pembangunan UIN Jakarta penting dilakukan mengingat peran penting pendidikan karakter, khususnya kedisiplinan, dalam pembentukan pribadi siswa yang unggul. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan bagaimana pengelolaan ekstrakurikuler paskibra dapat membantu siswa Madrasah Aliyah Pembangunan UIN Jakarta menjadi lebih disipliner. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi kualitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan tinjauan dokumen. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik pengurangan data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan, serta memastikan keabsahan data melalui triangulasi metode dan sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan ekstrakurikuler paskibra telah dilakukan dengan baik melalui tahap perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, pengawasan, dan evaluasi. Dengan demikian, pengelolaan ekstrakurikuler paskibra di Madrasah Aliyah Pembangunan UIN Jakarta terbukti efektif dalam membina kedisiplinan siswa, khususnya dalam hal disiplin waktu dan disiplin belajar, yang merupakan komponen penting dalam pengembangan karakter siswa di era pendidikan saat ini.

Abstract

Pepper yellow leaf curl disease (PYLCD) is the primary disease that affects chili plants, resulting in a loss of quality and quantity. The identification of chili plants resistant to PYLCD is a solution to support optimal chili cultivation. The purpose of this study was to estimate genetic parameters to obtain information on the genetic control of chili resistance to PYLCD. The genotypes used in this study consisted of four parental, four hybrid genotypes, and 180 individuals of the F2 population. The results showed that the genotypes "F6074" and "IPBC12" were categorized as resistant, while the genotypes “IPBC5” and “YUNI” were categorized as susceptible. The distribution of resistance level in chili peppers to yellow curly leaf disease tends to follow a ratio of 13:3, with a dominance of susceptible traits. The assumption for this phenomenon is that resistance to PYLCD is controlled by at least two genes. Both genes have dominant and recessive epistatic interactions. Abstract

Peningkatan ukuran umbi bawang merah lokal dengan kolkisin dapat meningkatkan produktivitas dan preferensi konsumen terhadap bawang merah lokal Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh nilai LC50 benih bawang merah terhadap kolkisin serta menduga beberapa parameter genetik karakter agronomi populasi putatif mutan bawang merah generasi M1V2 hasil induksi poliploid dengan kolkisin. Penelitian ini terdiri atas dua percobaan terpisah. Percobaan pertama yaitu induksi poliploid TSS bawang merah dengan 5 konsentrasi kolkisin (0%, 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75% dan 1%) bertujuan untuk memperoleh nilai LC50 dan mutan putatif bawang merah. Percobaan kedua yaitu pendugaan parameter genetik beberapa karakter agronomi populasi (28 galur) mutan putatif bawang merah Trisulagenerasi M1V2 hasil induksi poliploid dengan kolkisin untuk menduga berbagai parameter genetik. Rancangan augmented digunakan baik pada penanaman percobaan pertama maupun percobaan kedua. Nilai LC50 TSS bawang merah varietas Trisula terhadap kolkisin sebesar 0.65%. Nilai heritabilitas berbagai karakter agronomi pada mutan putatif generasi M1V2 berkisar antara rendah sampai tinggi (11.13 – 83.39%). Tingkat ploidi seluruh populasi M1V1 bersifat mixoploid dan pengelompokkan pada mutan putatif generasi M1V2 dengan analisis kluster bersifat acak. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa induksi poliploid dengan kolkisin pada TSS bawang merah bersifat acak. Kata kunci: heritabilitas, kolkisin, LC50, mixoploid, poliploid

Abstract

ABSTRACTCultivation of chili plants in the tropical greenhouse requires cooling as a solution of high temperature inside the greenhouse. One of the cooling system can be applied is root zone cooling. The aim of this research is to apply root zone cooling system to cultivation of chili plant in tropical greenhouse with substrate system, and to know the influence root zone cooling system on growth and productivity of chili plant. Plants are cultivated with a hydroponics substrate system using a drip irrigation system where the cooling pipe is buried inside the substrate medium. First treatment is cooling the root zone with cooled water and the substrate temperature of root zone cooling was 14.1-26.9 0C (CH treatment). Second treatment is cooling the root zone with no cooled water (ambient temperature), and the substrate temperature was 24.8-34.2 0C (NC treatment). The air temperature inside greenhouse was 29.4 0C and 24.7 0C, day and night. Due to lack of intensity of sunlight into the greenhouse, the plants sustain etiolating. However CH treatment produced higher fruit weight per plant compared with NC treatment. The weight of fruit per plant is 873.60 g and 546.00 g, for CH and NC respectively. The fruit size in the CH treatment also produced longer and heavier fruits than the NC treatment.Keywords: hydroponics of pepper, productivity, root temperatureABSTRAKBudidaya tanaman cabai di dalam rumah tanaman daerah beriklim tropis membutuhkan pendinginan sebagai solusi tingginya suhu udara di dalam rumah tanaman. Pendinginan yang dapat diterapkan salah satunya yaitu dengan pendinginan terbatas di daerah perakaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan teknik pendinginan daerah perakaran pada budidaya tanaman cabai di dalam rumah tanaman iklim tropika basah dengan sistem substrat, serta untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendinginan daerah perakaran pada pertumbuhan dan produktivitas tanaman cabai. Tanaman dibudidayakan dengan sistem hidroponik substrat dan sistem irigasi tetes yang di dalam media tanam dibenamkan pipa pendingin. Perlakuan pertama adalah pendinginan daerah perakaran dengan air yang didinginkan dan suhu media tanam yang didinginkan berkisar antara 14.1-26.9 0C (perlakuan CH). Perlakuan kedua adalah pendinginan daerah perakaran dengan air yang tidak didinginkan (suhu lingkungan) dengan kisaran suhu media tanam sebesar 24.8-34.2 0C (perlakuan NC), dengan suhu udara rata-rata 29.4 0C pada siang hari dan 24.7 0C pada malam hari. Tanaman mengalami etiolasi akibat kurangnya intensitas cahaya matahari yang masuk ke dalam rumah tanaman. Perlakuan CH menghasilkan bobot buah per tanaman yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan perlakuan NC. Bobot buah per tanaman sebesar 873.60 g dan 546.00 g, untuk CH dan NC berturut-turut. Ukuran buah pun pada perlakuan CH menghasilkan buah yang lebih panjang dan lebih berat dari pada perlakuan NC.Kata kunci: hidroponik cabai, produktivitas, suhu zona perakaran
