Abstract

Industrial activities that are around the waters will donate dangerous heavy metals and enter the waters through rivers. Heavy metal pollution is very dangerous for animals, plants, and humans. Exposure to heavy metals in humans occurs through the food chain. Pollution observation methods using living organisms such as plankton as bioindicators are more effective. As an indicator of biological, composition, and abundance of plankton can provide a guide for monitoring the occurrence of pollution by using the saprobic index. This research aims to determine the level of pollution in the waters of Obi Island. The results of identification of plankton samples found 17 genera phytoplankton in 2 different classes, Diatom and Dinoflagellate, and 3 genera of zooplankton class. The average abundance of phytoplankton from the results of the study was 5.253 individual/L which means that the water conditions were mesotrophic. Meanwhile, the average abundance of zooplankton is 57 individuals/m3. The saprobic index and trophic saprobic index analysis tend to show that the waters are in the mild to moderate polluted category, where the waters are at the β-Mesosaprobic level.

Ariyani GP, Hower H, Tamrin T, Pratama F. 2022. DSSC’s electrical performance from dye of bungur leaf (lagerstroemis speciosa) with varied dye concentration. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 105-112. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC) can convert solar energy into electrical energy using organic matter (dye) as a sensitizer, but it necessary to innovate on dye so that resulting efficiency is optimal. The purpose of this research was to determine the electrical performance of Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC) with varied dye concentrations of Bungur Leaf Extract (Lagerstroemis speciosa). The research methods included the preparation of the DSSC structure, the preparation and assembly of the DSSC, and DSSC analysis. The chlorophyll content in the leaves of Bungur was calculated based on the absorbance characteristics at wavelengths of 649 nm and 665 nm. The results of the measurement of chlorophyll levels in Bungur leaves were directly proportional to the addition of concentration. The higher the solvent concentration, the more chlorophyll would bind dye. At concentrations of 2% to 8%, the efficiency increased with the values respectively 0.0018%, 0.0047%, 0.0054%, and 0.0114%. Afterwards, at the highest concentration of 10%, the efficiency decreased by 0.0050%. The chlorophyll content in the leaf dye affected the performance of DSSC at a certain concentration limit which was due to the accumulation of dye molecules in the TiO2 pores.

Abstract

This study investigated and evaluated the implementation of governance practices concerning the control environment in government-operated water supply firms in South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. The objective of this study was to ascertain the most effective methods for implementing governance within government-owned firms. It also examined the maturity level of the control environment. This study utilized the multiple case study method and focused on three observed organizations. The qualitative data was analyzed using implementation-level assessment and comparison analysis across the cases. Multiple discoveries were unveiled in this investigation. Initially, the implementation of a control environment in observed organizations was rudimentary. Furthermore, effective communication and coordination across pertinent departments enhanced control consciousness inside the organization. Furthermore, this study recognized the significance of employing a procedural selection process for audit firms. Nevertheless, multiple domains necessitate enhancement to augment the quality of governance, specifically recognizing the significance of risk management and compliance programs. Additional aspects that may arise in control environment practices, such as corporate culture and political difficulties, should be further investigated.

Abstract

Chinese Cabbage is a perishable commodity perishable because it has the characteristics of a living being and does not have the ability to sustain its life. In general, mustard greens are only stored in sacks. This method can cause damage to the mustard leaves and damage to other parts. Therefore the aim of this research is to analyze the freshness of the vegetables after they are harvested and given supply plant nutrients to extend the shelf life of vegetables. This study used a completely randomized design with 6 different treatments. In the first treatment (A) it was carried out with a box filled with clean water without nutrients. The second treatment (B) to the 5th treatment were sequentially added AB mix nutrition of 2 ml, 5 ml, 10 ml and 50 ml. Treatment 6 (F) was stored without water. Observations were made every 2 days for 6 days so that the total observation was 12 days and stored at room temperature. All treatments were repeated 3 times to obtain 18 experimental units. The results showed that the provision of 5 ml of nutrition had an effect on freshness as indicated by a low weight loss and root growth. Provision of more than 5 ml of nutrients in maintaining the freshness of the chinese cabbage has a bad impact because it causes rotting of the chinese cabbage. Keywords:  Chinese Cabbage, Effect, Freshness, Nutrition, Storage.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries where the majority of the population are farmers, and rice is the main commodity. While rice drying is an important factor, the current climate and weather changes are an obstacle for farmers in the drying process. Rice with high moisture content is not safe for storage as it is susceptible to mold attack and deterioration. The purpose of this research was to study the effect of the level of inclination of the plastic position on the decrease in rice moisture content and the level of loss. The results of observations of the weather index for 4 days show that the intensity of the sun reaching the earth varies every hour. The parameters measured rice weights of 250 grams, 500 grams, and 750 grams showed that at a slope of 30 ° had the lowest moisture content and the highest rate of rice loss was in rice weights of 250 grams with a slope of 0 ° at 62% while the lowest rate of rice loss was in rice weights of 750 grams with a slope of 0 ° at 19%.   Keywords: Rice, Drying, Moisture Content Rice Weight, Slope.

Abstract

The research carried out aims to utilize bagasse waste and determine the characteristics of bio-coal briquettes made from bagasse waste with the addition of coal. This research was conducted with reference to a completely randomized design (CRD) with two factors and three replications. The first factor is the comparison of the composition of the main raw materials in the form of bagasse and coal (P) which includes four treatment levels, namely 100%: 0% (P0), 40%: 60% (P1), 60%: 40% (P2) and 80 %: 20% (P3).The second factor is the concentration ratio of tapioca adhesive which includes three treatment levels, namely 10% (K1), 15% (K2) and 20% (K3). There are seven parameters tested in this study, namely density, moisture content, compressive strength, shatter resistance index, calorific value, combustion rate and basic temperature of the cooking pancie when burning briquettes. The results showed that the higher the percentage of coal in the composition of the main raw material tends to increase the compressive strength and decrease the burning rate of the briquettes. Meanwhile, the lower the tapioca adhesive concentration used tends to increase the density, compressive strength, and shatter resistance index and reduce the burning rate of briquettes. The briquettes produced in this study resulted in the following characteristics: briquette density ranged from 0.36 to 0.44 g / cm3, the moisture content ranges from 4.04% - 6.42%, compressive strength ranges from 26.87 - 46.15 N / cm2, the shatter resistance index ranges from 96.02% - 96.78%, the actual heating value ranges from 3266.1 - 4588.5 cal / g, the theoretical calorific value ranged from 1988.1 to 4483.6 cal / g, the briquette combustion rate ranged from 1.818 to 3.125 g / min, and the highest basic cooking pancie temperature was obtained in the P1K1 treatment combination of 229ºC. Keywords:  Briquettes, Coal, Tapioca Glue, Waste Bagasse.
