Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the difficulties of students in learning mathematics in statistical material, especially those related to the mean, median and mode. Researchers are also trying to find alternative solutions to overcome the difficulties faced by students. The subjects in this study were students of class 6 SD Negeri 03 Buran, Kecamatan Tasikmadu, Kabupaten Karanganyar as many as 22 students who were selected purposively. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Data were obtained from observations, interviews and documentation with two categories of difficulty, namely those related to understanding the concept and its application to the mean, median, and mode formulas. Based on the results and discussion, it was concluded that there were two difficulties experienced by students in statistical material. Students still have difficulty understanding the concept of mean, median, mode, and difficulty in applying the formulas for mean, median and mode to the data presented in tabular form. To overcome the difficulties of students in understanding the concept of mean, median and mode, the teacher should explain the definitions and uses of the three by involving students directly in constructing the formula. Meanwhile, to overcome students' difficulties in applying the mean, median and mode formulas in tabular form, teachers are expected to be able to explain additional tables, namely frequency multiplied by data (f.x) and cumulative frequency to make it easier to find the mean, median and mode.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on mathematics learning outcomes for class V elementary school mathematics. This research is quantitative research with experimental methods. The research design used is  control group pre-test post-test design. The subjects of this research were 25 fifth-grade students of SDN 01 Jati, Jaten, Karanganyar. The experimental class consisted of 13 people and the control class consisted of 12 people. Data collection was carried out using instruments in the form of description questions, data analysis using the paired sample t-test and prerequisite tests, namely the normality test and homogeneity test with the help of the SPSS version 16 program. Based on the results of the t test using the Paire Sample T-test, a sig value was obtained. 2-tailed) of 0.000< 0.05. So the hypothesis Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, meaning that the CTL learning model in mathematics learning material about flat figures has a significant effect on the learning outcomes of fifth grade elementary school students.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the demand for educational institutions to create quality human resources. Regulation of the Minister of National Education No. 63 of 2009 concerning the quality assurance system for education in Indonesia serves as a reference for regulating quality limits, quality assurance objectives, and quality level references. This study aims to improve the quality of education and identify its inhibiting factors at SD Muhammadiyah Alam Surya Mentari Surakarta. This research method is qualitative. Data collection was done by observation, interview, and documentation. The data validity technique uses source and method triangulation. The data analysis technique in this research has three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the strategies to improve the quality of education carried out by SD Muhammadiyah Alam Surya Mentari are: 1) Adopting four curricula, 2) Improving student achievement, both academic and non-academic, 3) Improving infrastructure facilities through a) minimum educator standards of S1, b) straightforward programs and division of tasks, c) adequate infrastructure, d) an environment that supports the learning process, e) foundation and community support. At the same time, the inhibiting factors are the large number of students and the lack of technology-based learning facilities in the classroom. Abstrak Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi adanya tuntutan bagi lembaga pendidikan untuk menciptakan sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas. Peraturan Menteri Pendidikan Nasional No 63 Tahun 2009 tentang sistem penjaminan mutu Pendidikan di Indonesia menjadi acuan dalam mengatur batasan mutu, tujuan penjaminan mutu dan acuan tingkatan mutu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi meningkatkan mutu pendidikan dan faktor penghambatnya di SD Muhammadiyah Alam Surya Mentari Surakarta. Metode penelitian ini ialah kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan metode. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini ada tiga tahapan, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi peningkatan mutu pendidikan yang dilakukan oleh SD Muhammadiyah Alam Surya Mentari yaitu: 1) Mengadopsi empat kurikulum, 2) Meningkatkan prestasi peserta didik baik akademik maupun non akademik, 3) Meningkatkan sarana prasarana melalui: a) standard pendidik minimal S1, b) program dan pembagian tugas yang jelas, c) sarana prasarana yang memadai, d) lingkungan yang mendukung proses pembelajaran, e) dukungan yayasan dan masyarakat. Sedangkan faktor penghambatnya yaitu jumlah peserta didik yang banyak dan minimnya fasilitas pembelajaran berbasis teknologi di kelas. Kata Kunci: Mutu pendidikan; sekolah dasar; strategi pendidikan

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan hal pokok dan mendasar di era global saat ini. Optimalisasi pendidikan dilakukan dengan berbagai cara. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran adalah mengimplementasikan model dan pendekatan pembelajaran. Problem Based Learning (PBL) merupakan salah satu model pembelajaran yang dinilai dapat memberikan banyak dampak positif terhadap peserta didik sebab model pembelajaran ini menuntut kemampuan berfikir siswa dalam menyelesaikan suatu permasalahan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis uji dua pihak dan analisis statistik deskriptif. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMPN 1 Purwodadi dan SMPN 3 Karangrayung. Penelitian memasukkan unsur Sekolah Ramah Anak (SRA) sebagai salah satu variabel kontrol. Data yang digunakan merupakan data primer yang diperoleh dari hasil observasi peneliti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai matematika pada siswa yang berada di SRA dengan perlakuan pembelajaran PBL lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan peserta didik yang tidak berada di lingkungan sekolah SRA dan tidak mendapatkan metode pembelajaran PBL. Penggunaan PBL juga diketahui dapat meningkatkan kemampuan peserta didik dalam komunikasi matematis.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in cognitive learning outcomes in science subjects of class VIIA students at SMP Batik Surakarta in the 2020/2021 academic year through the application of the online Discovery Learning model.This research is a Classroom Action Research with the research subjects of class VIIA students in the 2020/2021 academic year totaling 29 students. The data collection technique used a cognitive learning outcome test instrument. The research was conducted in 3 cycles. The analysis technique uses a comparison of learning outcomes. The results of classroom action research carried out through three cycles showed that the application of the discovery learning model could significantly improve students' cognitive learning outcomes by 93.5% of students could achieve completeness of science cognitive learning outcomes in energy material in life systems, this was also accompanied by an increase in average. -a grade learning outcomes. As much as 6.5% of the students were still incomplete due to network constraints and the inactivity of students in following learning in accordance with the provisions.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out how to use information and communication technology in character education in elementary schools. This research can help educators understand character education using the use of information and communication technology as an important thing in the development of children's character. This study uses the method of literature study. Information and communication technology is utilized by educators to provide more effective learning in the current new normal era, with ICT-based learning media. Character education is very appropriate if it starts from the elementary school level where elementary school education is the foundation for further education. In order to prepare future generations who do not lose their identity as the Indonesian nation. the use of information and communication technology in character education is an alternative that must be applied in character education in elementary schools.

Abstract

Feedback is crucial in the writing learning process, as it enables students to enhance the quality of their work after receiving input from their teacher. Nonetheless, lecturers do not completely grasp the essence of writing education. This study seeks to explore lecturer' beliefs about teaching writing through feedback, describe how these beliefs are applied in teaching practices, and identify any discrepancies between these beliefs and what occurs in the classroom. This research employs a qualitative methodology through a case study. Data were collected via interviews with teachers and students, along with learning observations, and were then analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative methods through descriptive statistics. The findings of the study suggest that feedback plays a vital role in teaching writing, particularly when complemented by Merdeka curriculum centered on outcome-based learning. The different types of feedback used in learning include written feedback, conferencing, and peer feedback. The roles that lecturers take on include facilitator, provider of feedback, and coordinator. The disparity that arises pertains solely to the lecturer's role in providing feedback, without taking any corrective measures. This research suggests that implementing corrective feedback can enhance students' writing skills.

Abstract

In this digital era, we can access information that we need easily. Including mathematics learning material. The are a lot if digital based learning materials that can be accessed anytime anywhere. However, the are still limited studies about developing mathematics e-modul as one of learning resources for vocational high school students. Therefore, this study investigates the need to develop An Integrated RME and PBL Mathematics E-Module for Vocational High School learning. This study is a descriptive survey involving 52 tenth grade students consist of 27 students from the Pharmaceutical Technology Expertise Field, 10 students from the Industrial Chemical Engineering Expertise Field, and 15 students from the Beauty and Spa Expertise Field, and also four mathematics teachers from four different vocational high schools with various expertise field in a city of Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia. The data collection was conducted using printed questionnaires (for students) and online questionnaires (for teachers). The data was summarized and analyzed descriptively. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that there are still limited realistic problems in Indonesian mathematics textbook for vocational high school based on each expertise fields. Therefore, developing an integrated RME and PBL mathematics e-module is necessary. The characteristic of the integrated RME and PBL mathematics e-module are: (1) the e-module’s content should be presented in Bahasa Indonesia, providing realistic contexts by the certain expertise field and can also be from various expertise fields; (2) the learning activities should be carried out in groups, held inside or outside the classroom and involve problems that are related to the expertise field; (3) the learning media can be in the form of electronic and non-electronic media; (4) The assessment activities can be carried out in writing or authentic assessment.

Abstract

Rendahnya prestasi matematika siswa Indonesia dalam kancah internasional ditunjukkan dengan rendahnya peringkat Indonesia menurut TIMSS. Disamping itu, Indonesia menetapkan buku teks berisi materi dan soal latihan yang digunakan siswa sebagai alat bantu dalam mengukur kemampuan siswa. Namun tidak dipungkiri jika buku teks tersebut belum sepenuhnya sesuai dengan standar TIMSS. Hal ini dikarenakan buku teks di Indonesia dirancang sesuai dengan kurikulum yang berlaku. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesesuaian materi dan soal matematika dalam buku Tematik Kurikulum 2013 siswa SD kelas V berdasarkan taksonomi TIMSS. Jenis penelitian ini adalah analisis isi dengan pendekatannya merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah dokumentasi dan wawancara. Dalam keabsahan data, peneliti menggunakan pemeriksaan teman sejawat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) materi matematika terhadap domain konten dan soal matematika terhadap domain kognitif dalam buku Tematik belum semuanya memenuhi proporsi TIMSS, 2) materi dalam buku Tematik lebih didominasi oleh aspek bilangan yaitu sebesar 55,88%, sedangkan bentuk dan ukuran geometri sebesar 33,82%, dan data sebesar 10,30%. 3) Hasil penelitian pada soal dalam buku Tematik didominasi aspek applying dengan presentase sebesar 45,93%, sedangkan aspek knowing sebesar 29,19%, dan reasoning 24,88%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam buku Tematik sudah berisi soal untuk mengasah kemampuan siswa dalam berpikir kritis.

Abstract

The national exam as an integrator of the nation as well as a reflection of the quality of education in Indonesia. But on the other hand the study of assessment of the Trends in Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) Indonesia often are currently down. This study aimed to analyze the national exam mathematics junior high school 2015/2016 in terms of cognitive aspects TIMSS. The research is a qualitative targets are national exam mathematics junior high school 2015/2016. Data were analyzed using content analysis to analyze any items to measure the achievement of the cognitive aspects of the matter of the Mathematics National Examination 2015-2016. The results of this study showed that the percentage of 25% was obtained for the cognitive aspects of knowing. This percentage is smaller than that has been targeted by the TIMSS 2015 by 35%. Percentage of 42.5% was obtained for the cognitive aspects of applying . It TIMSS 2015 exceeded expectations by 40% or 2.5% higher than expectations. Percentage of 32.5% was obtained for cognitive reasoning or 7.5% greater than the expected target at 25% . And it can be concluded that the national exams for junior high school 2015/2016 school year has not yet reached the desired target by TIMSS due the cognitive aspects of knowing the percentage is lower than expected TIMSS as well as cognitive aspects of cognitive reasoning applying and obtaining a greater percentage than expected TIMSS.
