Abstract

This article is descriptive literature review and critical analysis through a historical approach that seeks to uncover, explore, study and analyze the problems that are the subject of study from a historical perspective. The history referred to in this paper is the history of the Islamic world in the nineteenth century and the penetration of the Western world into the Islamic world and all the consequences that followed. Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji relevansi pemikiran etika Imam al-Ghazali dengan metode penyucian jiwa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pustaka, menelusuri referensi atau sumber-sumber baik berupa artikel maupun jurnal untuk memperoleh data tentang pemikiran etika dan metode penyucian jiwa Imam Al-Ghazali. Model penelitian ini bersifat historis faktual. Analisis metode yang digunakan ialah interpretasi, metode ini berusaha menguraikan isi buku dan sumber-sumber lainnya secara tepat. Metode kedua adalah induksi dan deduksi, dengan menganalisis seluruh bagian satu per satu dari referensi-referensi yang ditemukan dalam hubungannya dengan yang lain atau disebut induksi. Teknik pengumpulan dan analisis data dilakukan dengan mengacuh kepada metode yang digunakan. Setelah melakukan analisis, kemudian dilakukan perbandingan dalam hal persamaan dari berbagai sumber sehingga menghasilkan kesimpulan tentang pemikiran etika Imam Al-Ghazali bersifat religius dan sufistik serta metode penyucian jiwa yang ditawarkan oleh Imam Al-Ghazali berupa mujahadah, riyadhah, bergaul dengan orang-orang dan lingkungan yang baik, mempelajari kisah-kisah nabi, mengenali aib diri sendiri, serta dapat mengambil hikmah dari orang-orang yang membenci kita.   Kata kunci: pemikiran etika; metode penyucian jiwa Abstract This research is aimed to find the relevance of Imam al-Ghazali thought on Ethics to a method of purifying the soul of Imam Al-Ghazali. This is a library research and its model is historically factual. The analysis of the method used is interpretation, this method seeks to decipher the contents of books and other sources precisely. The second method is induction and deduction, by analyzing the entire section one by one of those references found in conjunction with the other or called induction. Data collection and analysis techniques are carried out by referring to the methods used. After conducting the analysis, a comparison was then made in terms of similarities from various sources so as to produce conclusions about the ethical thinking of Imam Al-Ghazali being religious and sufistic and the method of purifying the soul offered by Imam Al-Ghazali in the form of mujahadah, riyadhah,  get along with good people and environments, learn the stories of prophets, recognize one's own disgrace, and be able to take wisdom from those who hate us. Abstract

Abstract Ibn Miskawaih is known as the father of Islamic ethics. He has been able to formulate the basics of ethics in his book Tahdzib al Akhlaq wa Thathir al A'raq (Education Budi and Cleansing Morals). The source of Ibn Miskawaih's ethical philosophy comes from Greek philosophy, Persian civilization, Islamic teachings and personal experience. In His thoughts on ethics, he started by exploring the human soul. He views that psychology has its own virtues compared to other other psychology. Ibn Miskawaih's ethical teachings stem from the bitch theory middle. The point is to say that moral virtue is generally defined as as a middle position, extreme advantages and extreme disadvantages of each human soul. Thus, according to Ibn Miskawaih that morality is a a state of mind that invites someone to act without thinking and calculated beforehand. So that morality can be made into human nature by doing continuous exercises until it becomes a good self give birth to good morals. Dia mampu merumuskan dasar-dasar etika dalam bukunya Tahdzib al Akhlaq wa Thathir al A'raq (Pendidikan Budi dan pembersihan budi pekerti) . Sumber filsafat etika Ibnu Miskawaih berasal dari Filsafat Yunani, peradaban Persia, ajaran Islam dan pengalaman pribadi. Di Pemikirannya tentang etika, ia mulai dengan menjelajahi jiwa manusia. Dia bahwa psikologi memiliki keutamaan tersendiri dibandingkan dengan yang lain psikologi lainnya. Ajaran etika Ibn Miskawaih berasal dari teori anjing betina lingkungan. Ini untuk mengatakan bahwa kebajikan moral secara umum didefinisikan sebagai sebagai posisi tengah, keuntungan ekstrim dan kerugian ekstrim masing-masing jiwa manusia. Jadi, menurut Ibnu Miskawaih, akhlak adalah keadaan pikiran yang mengajak seseorang untuk bertindak tanpa berpikir dan dihitung sebelumnya. Sehingga moralitas dapat menjelma menjadi fitrah manusia dengan melakukan latihan terus menerus sampai ia menjadi diri yang baik melahirkan akhlak yang baik. Kata Kunci: Ibnu Miskawaih, Etika, akhlak.

Abstract

This article examines the implementation of the concept of ecotheology in the reforestation movement at the As'adiyah Mattirowalie Islamic Boarding School, Bone Regency as an effort to build environmental awareness based on Islamic spirituality. The environmental degradation that is happening today requires a holistic approach that focuses not only on the technical aspects, but also on the spiritual and moral aspects. Through a qualitative approach with the participatory action research method, this study involved 150 students and 25 ustadz in a reforestation program that integrates Islamic values with environmental conservation practices. The results of the study showed that the ecotheology approach was able to increase the environmental awareness of students by 78% and succeeded in greening an area of 5 hectares around the Islamic boarding school. This program has succeeded in changing the paradigm of students from an anthropocentric understanding to a more sustainable ecocentric view. The implementation of ecotheology in Islamic boarding schools has proven to be effective in creating a generation of Muslims who have a high awareness of environmental sustainability.

Abstract

This study aims to provide a conceptual and philosophical analysis of the distinctions between ethics, morals, values, and aesthetics, while also formulating the normative foundations of Islamic ethics as an integrative ethical system. Employing a qualitative approach with a library research method, the study critically examines both classical and contemporary literature in Western philosophy and Islamic thought. A conceptual-comparative analysis was applied to identify similarities, differences, and intersections among these terms. The findings reveal that ethics represents a normative reflection on human actions, morals relate to socially accepted norms, values serve as guiding principles of behavior, and aesthetics emphasizes the dimension of beauty in art and conduct. Within the Islamic perspective, these concepts are comprehensively integrated, with revelation (the Qur’an and Sunnah) serving as the ultimate foundation. Islamic ethics is characterized as theocentric, holistic, and oriented toward both worldly and eternal well-being. Its core principles include tawhid (monotheism), justice, enjoining good and forbidding evil, and tazkiyat al-nafs (self-purification). Thus, this study affirms that Islamic ethics is not only normative but also practical and highly relevant as a moral framework in addressing contemporary global challenges and the dynamics of modern civilization.

Abstract

Pakistan is one of the countries used by Muslims in the world as a reference, where the State of Pakistan which since its inception has been called an Islamic State, where Pakistan is basically part of India which is known to be the majority of the Hindu population. Therefore, this study aims to better understand the description of the ideas of Sir Muhammad Iqbal who is known that the idea thinking to form the State of Pakistan and separate from India is from him. This study uses a qualitative approach with a study of previous literatures such as History Books, Scientific Works related to the subject being studied, and the history of the History of the Modern Islamic World. Muhammad Iqbal Born with the full name Muhammad Iqbal bin Muhamamd Nur bin Muhammad Rafiq, born in 1873 in Sialkot, Punjab India, who was born from a simple family but is obedient and disciplined in living his life as a Sufi, and this was instilled in him from childhood by his parents. He died in 1938. So his idea of realizing an Islamic state was expressed in 1930 at which time he was elected president of the Muslim League and received strong support from Muhammad Ali Jinnah.Keywords:Muhammad Iqbal, Muslim Ummah, Pakistan State, Conflict

Abstract

This study explores the concept of Islamic mysticism (tasawwuf) as conceptualized and advocated by Prof. Dr. H. Nurcholish Madjid, a renowned Indonesian Muslim intellectual. The research aims to examine how Madjid understands mysticism not merely as a path of personal spirituality, but as a transformative force that integrates inner piety with social ethics. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach, this study analyzes Madjid’s key writings and public lectures, particularly his interpretation of central Sufi concepts such as tazkiyah al-nafs (self-purification), ma'rifah (gnosis), and tawḥīd (the oneness of God) within the context of contemporary Indonesian Islam. The findings reveal that Madjid’s approach to mysticism is inclusive, rational, and reformist—emphasizing inner transformation while reinforcing its relevance to social renewal, ethical consciousness, and democratic values. His mystical thought presents an integrative paradigm in which spiritual depth and intellectual engagement coexist, contributing to the development of a more tolerant, ethical, and pluralistic Islamic society. This study affirms the contemporary relevance of Islamic mysticism in shaping religious discourse, ethical leadership, and civic participation in Indonesia.

Abstract

Konflik sosial kekerasan bernuansa agama di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta terjadi karena adanya faktor struktural dimana oleh kurangnya pendidikan di masyarakat baik pendidikan formal dan pendidikan spiritual sehingga munculnya ketidakmampuan membedakan isu dan juga pemahaman pendidikan agama yang memunculkan stereotip dan perasaan terancam akan munculnya agama atau pemahaman lain dari apa yang diterima. Sistem deteksi dini dan tanggap dini oleh pemerintah daerah dalam pencegahan konflik bernuansa agama di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta yang dilakukan belum cukup maksimal dimana Pemerintah Daerah dalam upaya deteksi dini yang dilakukan bukan untuk mendeteksi potensi konflik sebelum terjadi melainkan hanya pada deteksi setelah terjadinya konflik; belum mampu untuk mencapai deteksi dini konflik sebagai upaya pencegahan terjadinya konflik di masyarakat yang mengakibatkan banyaknya kasus yang terjadi. Kerukunan Umat beragama di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta mengalami perubahan tetapi tidak signifikan dikarenakan terdapat hambatan hambatan yang di dapat oleh Pemerintah. Namun dalam kenyataanya berdasarka survey yang dilakukan oleh Pemerintah. Indeks Kerukunan Umat Beragama Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Data survei kerukunan umat beragama (KUB) di DIY yang dikeluarkan Puslitbang Bimas Agama dan Layanan Keagamaan Badan Litbang dan Diklat Kemenag RI ternyata di atas rata-rata nasional. Sikap toleransi di DIY angkanya 71,9 persen, sedangkan di tingkat nasional 70,91. Di tahun 2018 (75,84 persen), nasional 70,33 persen. Kemudian pada tahun 2019, sikap toleransi di DIY juga di atas rata-rata nasional yakni 73,48, sedangkan nasional 72,37 persen. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan Pemahaman Keberagamaan dan moderasi beragama, mahasiswa Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Islam Negeri (PTKIN). Secara spesifik, penelitian ini berupaya menguji apakah variabel Pemahaman Keberagamaan dan karakteristik sosial, yakni jenis kelamin dan organisasi kemahasiswaan berpengaruh terhadap variabel moderasi beragama di kalangan mahasiswa PTKIN. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan campuran tetapi yang utama adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei terhadap mahasiswa PTKIN (N=578) dengan teknik sampling sistematis berjenjang, yang dilengkapi dengan FGD terbatas. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang disebarkan melalui google form. Data yang terkumpul diolah dan dianalisis melalui analisis regresi. Berdasarkan analisis data ditemukan bahwa tingkat moderasi beragama pada Mahasiswa PTKIN cenderung sedang. Abstract
