Abstract

Keterampilan menulis merupakan salah satu kompetensi yang harus dikuasai oleh mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia sebagai bekal dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran di sekolah. Namun, hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa sebagian mahasiswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam merancang dan mengimplementasikan pembelajaran menulis yang mampu mendorong kreativitas, partisipasi aktif, dan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan penerapan Student-Centered Learning dalam pembelajaran keterampilan menulis. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 20 Maret 2026 di Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Almuslim dengan melibatkan 30 mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia sebagai peserta. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi penyampaian materi, workshop penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran, pendampingan, simulasi pembelajaran (microteaching), serta refleksi dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa mampu memahami konsep Student-Centered Learning, menyusun perangkat pembelajaran keterampilan menulis yang lebih inovatif, serta mengimplementasikan strategi pembelajaran yang aktif dan kolaboratif melalui kegiatan microteaching. Selain itu, kegiatan ini meningkatkan kepercayaan diri, kreativitas, dan kesiapan mahasiswa dalam melaksanakan praktik mengajar. Dengan demikian, program pengabdian ini memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap penguatan kompetensi pedagogik mahasiswa sebagai calon guru Bahasa Indonesia yang profesional dan mampu menerapkan pembelajaran yang berpusat pada peserta didik.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the planning, implementation, and challenges of using the Spin the Wheel digital game to enhance elementary school students’ interest in reading Indonesian language textbooks. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed involving fourth-grade students, a classroom teacher, and a school principal at an elementary school in Bireuen Regency, Indonesia. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques with source and method triangulation to ensure trustworthiness. The findings reveal that the Spin the Wheel digital game was systematically integrated into Indonesian language instruction and  supported created an interactive, enjoyable, and participatory learning environment. The implementation of the game increased students’ reading interest, concentration, reading comprehension, and self-confidence while fostering positive attitudes toward reading activities. Several challenges were identified, including limited instructional time, inadequate supporting facilities, and differences in students’ reading abilities. However, these challenges were effectively addressed through adaptive teaching strategies and institutional support. The study concludes that the Spin the Wheel digital game is an effective gamification-based learning medium for promoting reading interest among elementary school students. This study contributes to the growing literature on gamification in elementary education by providing empirical evidence of how digital game-based learning can support literacy development and create more engaging reading experiences in primary school classrooms.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) analyze the effect of personality on the achievement motivation of early childhood education teachers in Aceh Tamiang Regency; (2) analyze the effect of pedagogical competence on the achievement motivation of PAUD teachers in Aceh Tamiang Regency; (3) analyze the effect of personality on the performance of PAUD teachers in Aceh Tamiang Regency; (4) analyze the effect of pedagogical competence on the performance of PAUD teachers in Aceh Tamiang Regency; (5) analyze the effect of achievement motivation on the performance of PAUD teachers in Aceh Tamiang Regency; and (6) analyze the simultaneous effect of personality, pedagogical competence, and achievement motivation on the performance of PAUD teachers in Aceh Tamiang Regency. This research uses a quantitative approach with an associative research design. The population consisted of 784 PAUD teachers, with a sample of 100 selected proportionally using Slovin’s formula and probability sampling techniques. The results indicate that: (1) there is a positive and significant effect between personality and teachers’ achievement motivation, (2) pedagogical competence and teachers’ achievement motivation, (3) personality and teacher performance, (4) pedagogical competence and teacher performance, (5) achievement motivation and teacher performance. All relationships are statistically significant with a significance level below 0.05. (6) Simultaneously, personality, pedagogical competence, and achievement motivation contribute significantly to teacher performance, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.934 or 93.4%.Based on the findings, it is recommended that schools and educational policymakers give serious attention to developing teachers’ personality and pedagogical competence as the main foundation for improving performance. Efforts in character building, instilling values of responsibility, discipline, and work ethic should be conducted continuously through internal development and constructive supervision.

Abstract

Fiction texts are one type of reading material that plays an important role in literacy learning at the elementary school level. This study aims to analyze the use of fiction text teaching materials in literacy learning for fourth grade students at UPTD SDN 28 Peusangan. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The study was conducted at UPTD SDN 28 Peusangan, Peusangan District, Bireuen Regency, in the 2025/2026 academic year. The research subjects consisted of five fourth-grade teachers and sixteen fourth-grade students. The data sources included primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained through observations of the learning process and interviews with teachers and students. Secondary data were collected from supporting documents such as teaching modules, ATP, fiction text teaching materials, and learning documentation. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The results showed that students’ literacy skills prior to the use of fiction text teaching materials were still relatively low. The implementation of fiction text teaching materials was able to increase student engagement, reading comprehension, vocabulary mastery, and writing skills in a more coherent and structured manner. The conclusion of this study indicates that the use of fiction text teaching materials has a positive impact on improving reading and writing literacy skills of fourth-grade students.

Abstract

Reading proficiency is a crucial foundation for literacy among elementary school students. However, some students in lower grades still struggle to comprehend simple texts due to limited reading skills and low learning motivation. The "Complete the Sentence" instructional medium offers an alternative approach that actively engages students in reading comprehension. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental, non-equivalent control group design. The sample consisted of 30 students in the experimental group and 23 students in the control group at UPTD SDN 16 Bireuen. Reading proficiency data were collected via an 18-item multiple-choice test, while learning motivation was measured using a 15-statement, four-point Likert scale questionnaire. Data analysis involved the Paired Samples t-Test, Mann-Whitney U test, One-Sample t-Test, and Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA). The results indicate that the "Complete the Sentence" medium had a significant impact on students' reading proficiency, evidenced by an increase in the mean score from 57.83 to 83.50 and an N-Gain score of 0.60 (moderate-to-high category). Student learning motivation also improved, reaching an average of 79.9% (high category). MANOVA results showed a Wilks' Lambda value of 0.247 and an ?² of 0.753. The "Complete the Sentence" medium effectively enhanced both reading proficiency and learning motivation among third-grade students at UPTD SDN 16 Bireuen—both individually and simultaneously—making it a viable instructional alternative to support literacy and motivation in elementary education.

Abstract

Penyusunan skripsi merupakan salah satu syarat akademik bagi mahasiswa program sarjana. Namun, masih banyak mahasiswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami sistematika penulisan, penggunaan bahasa akademik, teknik sitasi, dan penyusunan daftar pustaka. Kondisi tersebut juga dialami oleh mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Universitas Al Muslim. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa dalam menyusun skripsi sesuai kaidah penulisan ilmiah. Kegiatan diikuti oleh 30 mahasiswa tingkat akhir dan dilaksanakan menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) melalui pelatihan, diskusi, praktik, dan pendampingan. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan pre-test dan post-test, observasi, serta angket kepuasan peserta. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan mahasiswa dalam menyusun skripsi, khususnya pada aspek sistematika penulisan, penyusunan paragraf akademik, teknik sitasi, dan pengelolaan referensi. Selain itu, kegiatan ini meningkatkan motivasi dan kepercayaan diri mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan skripsi. Dengan demikian, pelatihan dan pendampingan penulisan skripsi efektif meningkatkan kualitas penulisan akademik mahasiswa dan dapat dijadikan sebagai program pembinaan akademik secara berkelanjutan di Program Studi Pendidikan Universitas Almuslim.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the influence of emotional intelligence and learning motivation on student learning outcomes in social studies. The research method used is quantitative research. The design in this study is correlation research, by looking at the existing variables, namely the correlation of two independent variables, namely emotional intelligence and student learning motivation and one dependent variable, namely student learning outcomes. Furthermore, the description as an illustration of the research design is to find out the perspective or a frame of reference and view a theory proposed in the research of hypothesis testing and to find out whether or not there is an influence between variables. The data collection technique used in this study was a planned interview with student respondents in the research area. While data that cannot be collected by interview, this study also uses observation techniques. The results of the study showed that the magnitude of the influence of emotional intelligence and learning motivation simultaneously (at the same time) on social studies learning outcomes can be seen from the results of the determination coefficient, which is 0.726. Thus, the magnitude of emotional intelligence and learning motivation simultaneously on social studies learning outcomes in elementary schools in Cluster 2, Pegasing District is 72.6%. However, for further research, it is recommended to expand the research object.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe (1) the implementation of the school literacy movement program at the Kute Panang District Elementary School, and (2) the obstacles faced by the school in implementing the school literacy movement. The research method used in this study is qualitative research. Qualitative research in this case aims to understand social phenomena (students, teachers, principals, committees, and those involved in this study) or human behavior through in-depth interpretation and analysis of non-numerical data. Data collection was obtained from valid and accountable informants, the success of the study depends on the data collection technique itself. So the techniques that will be used in this study are 3 techniques, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings of this study indicate that the components in the implementation of the school literacy movement, namely planning and implementation. This study has the addition of two components in the implementation of the school literacy movement. The addition is in the form of organizing and controlling components. Then, the obstacles faced in the implementation of the school literacy movement can be overcome with comprehensive and sustainable efforts from all related parties. By overcoming these obstacles, it is hoped that the school literacy movement can run effectively and achieve its goals of increasing reading interest and literacy culture in schools.

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan menulis kreatif siswa di MIN 24 Bireuen menjadi salah satu permasalahan yang perlu mendapatkan perhatian karena siswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam mengembangkan ide cerita, menciptakan karakter, serta menyusun alur cerita yang logis dan menarik. Kondisi tersebut dipengaruhi oleh terbatasnya penggunaan media pembelajaran yang mampu merangsang imajinasi dan kreativitas siswa. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan menulis kreatif siswa melalui pemanfaatan media gambar dalam pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan meliputi sosialisasi, pendampingan, demonstrasi, praktik menulis kreatif, serta evaluasi hasil kegiatan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan diawali dengan pengenalan tema cerita, kegiatan brainstorming, pemanfaatan media gambar sebagai stimulus, pendampingan penyusunan karakter dan alur cerita, praktik menulis, serta presentasi hasil karya siswa. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media gambar mampu meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam mengembangkan ide cerita, menciptakan karakter yang lebih menarik, serta menyusun alur cerita secara lebih runtut dan kreatif. Selain itu, media gambar juga meningkatkan motivasi, keaktifan, dan kepercayaan diri siswa selama proses pembelajaran. Kolaborasi antara guru, siswa, dan orang tua turut mendukung keberhasilan program sehingga tercipta suasana belajar yang lebih interaktif, kreatif, dan menyenangkan. Dengan demikian, pemanfaatan media gambar dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif pembelajaran yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis kreatif siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This study aims to improve reading comprehension skills while simultaneously sharpening the critical thinking abilities of fifth-grade students at UPTD SD Negeri 3 Jangka through the implementation of the Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) strategy. The main problem underlying this research is the low level of basic literacy and the passive involvement of students resulting from monotonous instructional methods. The approach applied in this study is qualitative-descriptive, using a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted over two cycles, with each cycle encompassing planning, acting, observing, and reflecting phases. The results of the data analysis show a highly significant increase in learning outcomes from the first cycle to the second cycle. Students' classical mastery in Cycle I, which initially reached only 42.85%, experienced a drastic surge to 85.71% at the end of Cycle II, exceeding the predetermined success indicators. This increase in cognitive performance aligns with the optimization of the teacher's instructional execution, which increased from 78.8% to 95.5%, as well as the intensity of active student participation in the classroom, which soared from 68.8% to 94.45%. Based on the evaluation questionnaire, students gave a highly positive response to the DRTA tactic, with 55.71% expressing enthusiasm and 43.33% stating agreement. It can be concluded that the DRTA strategy is empirically proven to be highly effective in boosting the quality of reading comprehension, stimulating critical reasoning, and constructing an interactive, student-centered learning atmosphere in elementary schools.
