Abstract

This study analyzes communication patterns in the dissemination of information on the organization of the Hajj pilgrimage by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Tabalong Regency to Hajj pilgrims in 2025. The study is motivated by the diverse backgrounds of pilgrims in terms of gender, domicile, age, educational level, and occupation. These differences pose significant challenges in information delivery, requiring an adaptive and responsive communication system to ensure the safe, orderly, smooth, and comfortable implementation of the Hajj pilgrimage. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 10 informants, field observations, and documentation studies. Data analysis is grounded in Communication Accommodation Theory to understand convergence and divergence strategies in conveying Hajj-related information to pilgrims with diverse backgrounds. The findings reveal five main communication patterns: (1) a combination of face-to-face communication and digital platforms, (2) a tiered hierarchical communication system mediated by local actors, (3) adaptive two-way communication, (4) multidimensional channel convergence, and (5) continuous negotiation between hierarchical organizational structures and the need to adapt to pilgrims’ diversity. The challenges identified include cognitive limitations among elderly pilgrims, gaps in digital literacy, limited time and resources, inter-agency fragmentation, and technological complexity that is not fully user-friendly for elderly pilgrims. In conclusion, the communication patterns used in disseminating Hajj organization information by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Tabalong Regency represent a comprehensive and adaptive communication convergence strategy. This strategy is designed to build trust and ensure shared understanding among highly diverse pilgrims, creating a dynamic, responsive, yet organizationally structured communication system. The study recommends enhancing the use of more elderly-friendly communication technologies, strengthening the role of local mediators, extending the duration of Hajj rituals training (manasik), integrating inter-agency information systems, and developing specialized assistance programs for elderly pilgrims with specific health conditions.

Abstract

Refugee children are a vulnerable group who often face obstacles in accessing education, even though this right is guaranteed in various national regulations. This study examines the fulfillment of the right to education for refugee children in the working area of the East Java Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration from a human rights law perspective. This study aims to determine the national legal regulations regarding the right to education for refugee children and the role of the Regional Immigration Office in ensuring it. The results show that although several regulations guarantee the right to education in general, there are no technical provisions that specifically regulate the rights of refugee children. The East Java Regional Immigration Office acts as a coordination facilitator, but still faces challenges such as limited documentation, lack of policy synchronization, and poor understanding of technical implementers. Affirmative policies and national technical guidelines are needed, as well as strengthened cross-sectoral coordination so that the right to education for refugee children can be fulfilled fairly and inclusively.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ reading and writing skills through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. The background of this research is based on the low level of students’ reading and writing skills, which are indicated by students’ lack of active participation in learning activities, difficulties in understanding reading texts, and limited ability to express ideas and thoughts in written form. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles. The research subjects consisted of 32 students. Each cycle included the stages of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observations of teacher and student activities, students’ worksheets (LKPD), and tests of reading and writing skills. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model led to a significant improvement in students’ reading and writing skills. In the first meeting, only 10 students (31.25%) showed improvement in reading and writing skills. In the second meeting, the number of students who showed improvement increased to 15 students (46.88%). Furthermore, in the third meeting (Cycle II), the improvement became more significant, with 24 students (75%) demonstrating improved reading and writing skills. In addition, students’ learning activities and the quality of teaching practices also improved in each cycle. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model is effective in improving students’ reading and writing skills. This learning model enhances students’ active participation, critical thinking skills, and accuracy in reading and writing activities.

Abstract

Academic stress is a common psychological issue experienced by students and santri due to high academic demands. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the Butterfly Hug and Positive Affirmation techniques in reducing academic stress levels. A quasi-experimental method using a Non-Randomized Pretest–Posttest Control Group Design was employed, involving an experimental group and a control group. The participants were santri who experienced academic stress, measured using a validated academic stress scale. The experimental group received an intervention consisting of education and practice of the Butterfly Hug and Positive Affirmation techniques, while the control group received no treatment. Data were analyzed using paired samples t-tests and independent samples t-tests. The results indicated a significant reduction in academic stress levels in the experimental group after the intervention (p < .001), whereas no significant change was observed in the control group. These findings suggest that the Butterfly Hug and Positive Affirmation techniques are effective psychological interventions for reducing academic stress among santri. This study highlights the practical value of implementing simple and low-cost mental health interventions in educational settings.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital financial technology in Indonesia has accelerated the adoption of electronic wallets, including Sharia-compliant platforms such as LinkAja Syariah. Despite increasing interest in Islamic fintech, limited empirical studies examine how technological acceptance factors interact with religiously grounded brand legitimacy in influencing Generation Z’s adoption behavior. This study aims to analyze the determinants of Generation Z’s intention to use LinkAja Syariah in Central Jakarta by employing an extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) that integrates service features, perceived ease of use, perceived security and privacy, perceived usefulness, and brand image. A quantitative survey was conducted among 100 Generation Z respondents, and the data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to test both simultaneous and partial effects. The findings reveal that collectively all independent variables significantly influence intention to use. Partially, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and brand image demonstrate significant positive effects, while service features and security show no significant direct effect. Perceived usefulness emerges as the most dominant predictor. The study contributes to the extension of TAM within the context of Sharia fintech by incorporating brand image and security dimensions and provides practical implications for Islamic digital wallet providers to prioritize functional benefits, user-friendly design, and strong Sharia-based brand positioning to enhance adoption among digital-native users.
