Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of PKBM Mumtaz in improving access to and sustainability of the Package C Equivalency Education Program for the community of Labuhan Haji Village, Labuhan Haji District, East Lombok Regency. The research focuses on: (1) the role of PKBM Mumtaz in improving access to Package C equivalency education; (2) the strategies and mechanisms employed in implementing the Package C program. This research employed a qualitative approach using a single-case study design. The research participants consisted of PKBM administrators, tutors, learners, community members, and local government representatives involved in the implementation of the Package C program. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation, technique triangulation, and time triangulation. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The study concludes that PKBM Mumtaz plays a strategic role in expanding access to and ensuring the sustainability of Package C equivalency education through the provision of flexible, adaptive, and community-based educational services. The success of the program is supported by collaboration among administrators, tutors, learners, community members, and government institutions in promoting equitable educational opportunities for individuals who have limited access to formal education.

Abstract

Background. Competency-based pedagogy (CBP) has emerged as a transformative instructional approach aligned with 21st-century educational demands, emphasizing the mastery of specific skills and learner autonomy. Despite its increasing adoption, empirical evidence regarding its impact on student motivation and engagement remains limited, especially in higher education contexts. Purpose. This study aims to investigate the effect of CBP on students’ motivation and classroom engagement through an experimental design. Method. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with pretest-posttest control group design. Participants included 120 undergraduate students divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group received instruction using CBP principles, while the control group followed a traditional teacher-centered model. Data were collected using validated motivation and engagement scales and analyzed using ANCOVA. Results. Findings indicated that students in the CBP group demonstrated significantly higher levels of intrinsic motivation and behavioral engagement compared to those in the control group (p < 0.05). The structured autonomy and performance-based assessment in CBP played a key role in enhancing learner interest and participation. Conclusion.This study concludes that competency-based pedagogy positively influences students’ motivational and engagement levels, supporting its integration into curriculum design to foster meaningful and active learning experiences.

Abstract

Background. The implementation of School-Based Management (SBM) aims to enhance the quality of education by decentralizing decision-making and promoting school autonomy. However, its effectiveness is influenced by various internal and external factors. Purpose. This research examines the key factors affecting the success of SBM in schools. The primary objective is to identify and analyze these factors, which include leadership, teacher involvement, community participation, and resource management. Method. A mixed-methods approach was used, combining qualitative interviews with school principals, teachers, and education officials, and quantitative data gathered through surveys distributed to stakeholders. Results. The findings reveal that strong leadership, effective teacher collaboration, active community engagement, and adequate resources significantly contribute to the effectiveness of SBM. However, challenges such as insufficient training and limited access to resources hinder its full implementation. Conclusion. The study concludes that for SBM to be effective, schools must invest in professional development, enhance communication between stakeholders, and ensure better resource allocation. The research offers recommendations for policy makers and school administrators to improve the SBM framework and achieve more effective educational outcomes.

Abstract

Background. Speaking skill development is a crucial aspect of language learning. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of podcasts as an innovative strategy in the development of speaking skills, opening up opportunities for further research into more progressive language learning methods. Purpose. The study aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the role of podcasts in the development of speaking skills and explore the potential of innovative language learning methods. Method. A quantitative approach with survey method was used, involving 25 Arabic and English language students as the sample. Data was collected through a questionnaire distributed through Google Form, with analysis using the Miles Huberman approach and data visualization in the form of charts to understand the percentage of responses. Results. From the questionnaire results, it appears that podcasts play an important role in the development of speaking skills. The varying frequency of use reflects the high level of student interest and engagement with the audio material. While most respondents saw the benefits of podcasts in improving confidence and language acquisition, the neutral responses provided opportunities for adjustments to the learning approach. Conclusion. The conclusions of this study provide a basis for designing more targeted learning strategies, considering the diversity of student experiences and needs.

Abstract

Background. With the development of technology and students' preferences for digital interactions, gamification offers an attractive alternative in increasing the effectiveness of language learning. However, understanding the influence of gamification, especially on students in Indonesia, is something that has not been fully explored. Purpose. This research aims to evaluate the use of gamification in language learning for students in Indonesia. Research focus includes increasing motivation, engagement levels, and language learning outcomes. In addition, this research is intended to provide a solid foundation for the development of more innovative and effective learning strategies at the tertiary level in Indonesia. Method. This research adopts a quantitative approach with survey methods. A total of 40 Arabic student respondents from various universities in Indonesia were selected purposively. The sampling method involved distributing questionnaires via Arabic student WhatsApp groups. Data collection was carried out through a special questionnaire designed with Google Form. Data analysis refers to the Miles Huberman approach, including descriptive and inferential data processing. Results. The research results show variations in the level of student knowledge about gamification, with the majority giving positive responses. Although most students experience additional motivation, there are concerns regarding an overemphasis on the end result rather than the learning process. Conclusion. Gamification in language learning makes a positive contribution to student motivation, engagement, and enjoyment. However, the main challenge is the risk of overemphasis on the bottom line. The implementation of gamification needs to be adapted to the characteristics and needs of students, maintaining a balance between the game aspect and the essence of language learning. In conclusion, this research provides an in-depth understanding of the impact of gamification on Arabic language students in Indonesia, with the potential to provide guidance for the development of more effective language learning practices in higher education

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of Institutional Agility, Organizational Commitment and Digital Resource Capability on Educational Organizational Resilience of Higher Education Institutions in Indonesia. The quantitative approach was performed thru a questionnaire applied to professors and administrative staff of higher education institutions throughout the country. The sampling method was purposive sampling. The data were collected thru online survey via google forms and analyzed thru multiple linear regression. The results show that Institutional Agility, Organizational Commitment and Digital Resource Capability have a positive and significant effect on Educational Organizational Resilience. The most visible effect of the three factors is Institutional Agility. These findings mean that the ability of the higher education institution to adapt to change in a timely and flexible manner with the support of the commitment of organizational members and the required digital resource capabilities is an important aspect for strengthening institutional resilience. The study indicates that higher education institutions should improve Institutional Agility by enhancing organizational flexibility, speeding up decision-making, improving coordination across units, and enhancing the ability to identify and respond to environmental changes.

Abstract

In the digital era, the integration of technology in learning has become essential, particularly in entrepreneurship education, which must adapt to rapid technological developments. This study aims to develop a technopreneurship-based e-module to strengthen entrepreneurial learning in line with digital transformation. Using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), the analysis phase included literature review and field observations to identify learning challenges and competency needs. The design phase involved formulating learning objectives, selecting relevant content, and defining instructional strategies aligned with technopreneurship principles. During the development phase, information and communication technology features such as multimedia, interactive content, animations, and instructional videos were incorporated to enhance student engagement. Implementation was conducted through classroom trials in entrepreneurship courses, followed by evaluation using tests and student questionnaires. The results show that the e-module effectively improves students’ understanding of entrepreneurial concepts, problem-solving abilities, and technology-oriented entrepreneurial attitudes. Additionally, students reported higher motivation and engagement due to the interactive and modern learning format. This research demonstrates that integrating digital competencies into entrepreneurship education can provide more innovative and relevant learning experiences. The developed e-module offers a practical reference for educators and curriculum developers seeking to enrich instructional strategies, promote student-centered learning, and support the development of digital-based entrepreneurial skills. Overall, this study confirms that technopreneurship e-modules can effectively bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical skills, enhancing both learning outcomes and students’ readiness for technology-driven entrepreneurial ventures.
