Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas tentang sosok Usep Romli HM sebagai pelaku sejarah dalam dakwah Islam. Usep melihat celah dakwah yang berbeda. Beliau mampu menghadirkan risalah kenabian dengan baik dalam kesusastraan Sunda yang kemudian menjadi celah untuknya berdakwah. Teori Orang Besar atau The Great Man Theory dari Thomas Carlyle digunakan dalam penelitian ini, di mana menempatkan Usep Romli HM sebagai pahlawan, individu yang berpengaruh, berkarisma, cerdas, hikmat, dan memiliki keterampilan berpolitik. Sebagai diskursus kesejarahan, penelitian ini ditempuh melalui metodologi penelitian sejarah: Heuristik, kritik, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Atas telaah tersebut, maka Usep Romli HM layak diapresiasi dan disematkan sebagai tokoh sejarah dakwah Islam dalam wacana budaya Sunda.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to explain about some forms of al-Qur'an recitation activities in the tradition of marriage among Sundanese-Muslim communities, with the diversity of moments, personal, ways, and religious meanings. The problem is related to several things, namely 1) the forms of recitating the Qur'an carried out by the Sundanese-Muslim community in the tradition of marriage; 2) religious meaning of the tradition of Qur’anic recitation in the Sundanese-Muslim community; 3) the change of Qur’anic recitation activities influenced by internal and external factors. The theory used is the theory of the rite of Radcliffe Brown and the commodification of Islam from Greg Fealy. The domain of this research is in the study of cultural anthropology with an ethnographic approach. The results of this study indicate that the diversity of the tradition of the reciting the Qur’an carried out adjusted to the moment, economic level, individual abilities, and the environment. Sustainability and change occur because of the internal and external influences in implementing this tradition. From the point of view of meaning, this tradition shows identity, social stratification, and the commodification of the Qur’an recitation in the public sphere. This research has implications for the importance of increasing the quality of ritual understanding, rather than merely formality formal rituals.

Abstract

This study entitled “The Views of Parents and Teachers on The Provision of English Learning for Children” which aims to reveal the views of parents and teachers about giving English language learning to children. The research method used by the researcher in this study is a qualitative research method by conducting observations and interviews with parents and teachers about giving English language learning to children. The results showed that the majority of parents and teachers strongly agreed with the provision of English learning to children because they experienced a period so that it was easier to understand English lessons compared to adults. Others feel ashamed because the children are still too early to learn the lesson. The provision of English language learning has a positive impact on children in addition to communicating; English can also make children able to compete in the world of work in the future.

Abstract

Diet is one of the determining factors in human health, but in fact the Muslim community in Indonesia still does not understand the concept of eating patterns in the Qur'an. Many people still eat excessively, it is proven that Indonesia is the 2nd largest producer of food waste in the world. There are also those who consume forbidden foods or drinks such as liquor and drugs and like to consume less nutritious foods. Al-Qur'an and Hadith as the main sources of Islamic teachings have taught a good diet for physical and spiritual health. This research is a qualitative research with library research method that examines how the concept of eating patterns in the Qur'an. The data collected were analyzed using an interpretive approach with the maudhui interpretation method. The results of the study indicate that a quality healthy life can be obtained, among others, by protecting a diet that is not excessive, eating nutritious food, according to what the body needs, and eating halal thoyyiban which has been prescribed by Islam.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to discuss the conception of history, used by Shaykh 'Abdu al-Rauf al-Singkili in interpreting verses that have historical content in the Tafsir of Turjuman al-Mustafid. This research uses a Qualitative approach through literature-based methods. The results of this study show that the Conceptual Historicality used by Shaykh Abdu al-Rauf al-Singkili is a concept of Historical Law, focusing on a series of events that explain the state of the past as an object of empirical study, and as a comparison (Ibrah) to the present, in it has a simple nature, unique elegance., and is fixed. This research recommends further research related to the conception of history in this Tafsir of Turjuman al-Mustafid in view of Historical Science with an approach to the Islamic science group.

Abstract

One of the most prevalent concerns on social media is hate speech. Because hate speech is mainly transmitted in text form on social media, linguistic analysis is required to determine the meaning of the hate speech. This study aims to look at the view of hate speech on social media using a literature study technique based on the Wittgenstein language game theory approach. According to Wittgenstein, language does not have a single logical structure but is complicated in its use in human life, which spans a wide range of activities. Previous research has looked at the meaning linked with language use in social media. As Wittgenstein proposes, the finding of the research is That ordinary language collected through social media data may be utilized to offer direct answers to social scientific questions. Online media that allows people to represent themselves and cooperate to share, connect with other users, and form virtual social relationships are referred to as social media. Starting with the presentation of quotes, there will be a "language game" with the concept of "from, by, and for." Finally, the author proposes using two markers to analyze hate speech on social media: typology and message content

Abstract

Efforts to combine the substance of the Qur'an with composing books are also interesting to observe. Apparently, so far there are many books that have been compiled as works to mingle the Qur'an with Muslims, be it as a book of understanding, investigation. Mahmud Yunus' work in Tafsir Qur'an al-Karim is a new example or model for writing Indonesian Tafsir. And the work was studied by one of the Western figures, Howard M. Federspiel with the title Popular Indonesian Literature Of The Qur'an. The method used is descriptive-analytical method, which is trying to describe how Howard Federspiel's thoughts on Tafsir Qur'an al-Karim. The purpose of this research study is to describe or explain Howard M. Federspiel's argument in Mahmud Yunus' Study entitled Tafsir Qur'an al-Karim. The theory that will be used as an analytical tool in this paper begins with the application of the structural interpretation theory initiated by Daniel Patte. This theory underlines that there is a mutually influencing relationship between the results of one's interpretation of a text and the cultural background of the mufassir. According to Howard Periodization of the history of the interpretation of the Qur'an in Indonesia, there are three periods, one of which is in the second generation, an Indonesian figure, Mahmud Yunus, was found. He is a reformer who is quite representative in his interpretation of the Arabic text and Latin writings as well as adding clear footnotes and sources. Abstract

Penelitian dengan judul “Tafsir Tanda dalam Tradisi Nujuh Bulanan Masyarakat Sunda” bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan memahami tafsir tanda yang terkandung dalam tradisi nujuh bulanan masyarakat sunda. Adapun rumusan masalah penelitiannya terdiri dari: (1) tanda yang terkandung dalam nujuh bulanan masyarakat muslim sunda, (2) tafsir tanda dalam tradisi nujuh bulanan masyarakat sunda. Untuk menganalisis permasalahan tersebut, teori yang digunakan adalah semiotika Triadic yang meliputi sign, object dan interpretant dari Charles Sanders Pierce dengan teori Fungsionalisme dari Bronislaw K. Malinowski yang menjelaskan tentang kegunaan unsur suatu budaya dalam masyarakat. Sedangkan metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan kajian pustaka berupa jurnal, makalah, artikel dan media skripsi sebagai sumber data. Penelitian ini menghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa setiap tanda yang terkandung dalam tradisi nujuh bulanan ini merupakan pengharapan yang ditujukan pada proses persalinan dan bayi yang masih berada dalam kandungan. Terkait persalinan, tanda dalam tradisi nujuh bulanan melambangkan harapan akan keselamatan, kesehatan dan kelancaran. Sedangkan terkait bayi yang masih berada dalam kandungan, tanda dalam tradisi nujuh bulanan melambangkan harapan agar kelak sang anak memiliki budi pekerti luhur, sifat gagah berani membela kebenaran, rendah hati dan setia, paras yang tampan dan cantik, rezeki yang berlimpah, kebebasan dalam menentukan hidupnya dan dapat mengangkat derajat keluarganya. Adapun menurut prinsip dasar fungsionalisme, tradisi nujuh bulanan yang ditemukan dalam ranah masyarakat sunda merupakan sebuah sistem yang terdiri dari unsur-unsur yang terjalin erat (dalam hal ini telah dibahas tanda yang terkandung dalam tradisi nujuh bulanan, agama dan sosial).

Abstract

This research aims to explain the signs contained in the tradition of ma'baca-baca among the Muslim society of Bugis Bone and the meaning of the signs. The research problems consist of: 1) What are the signs found in the tradition of ma'baca-baca among the Muslim society of Bugis Bone; 2) What is the meaning of the signs that exist in the tradition of ma'baca-baca among the Muslim society of Bugis Bone. To analyze these problems, the theory used is the semiotic theory of Charless Sanders Peirce, which proposes a triangle theory of meaning, linking three aspects which are the main elements, namely representamen (sign), object, and interpretant. And assisted by Bronislaw Malinowski's theory of cultural functionalism. While the research method used is a qualitative descriptive method, namely the techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation. This study resulted in the following conclusions; 1) There are 5 verbal signs and there are 18 nonverbal signs in the tradition of ma’baca-baca among Muslim society of Bugis Bone, 2) All signs contained in the tradition of ma'baca-baca have their own meanings that are interpreted and believed by the local society.

Abstract

Everyone must have got the measure of sustenance from Allah swt.. However, sometimes some of them subconsciously invest in unnecessary material possessions. The study would be exploring the concept of superfluous in the qur'an. Research methods used are a qualitative kind through library studies with content analysis. The final outcome about the discussions of this research will mentions a general view of waste, a verse about superfluous in the qur'an, and useless analysis of the verse. The final conclusion of this study represent that it is costly to waste, and these waste forms could include possessions, food, drink, and excessive use of other necessities. There are several ways to avoid the wasteful behavior given by clerics. The study recommends the importance of avoiding wasteful behavior so that avoid the harmful effects of being a brother to devil.
