Abstract

According to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, health is one of the basic human rights. One of the aspects that support health is the aspect of pharmacy. Pharmacy workers consist of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technical Workers according to Law No. 36/2014 regarding Health Workers. In practice, pharmacy education in Indonesia is considered not sufficient to prepare the pharmacy workforce. There are currently contradictions in the applied pharmaceutical policy, where the number of pharmacy undergraduate programs is 279, while the number of pharmacist study programs is only 45. This results in an imbalance of graduates. There is a tendency that most pharmaceutical graduates will continue their professional education to become a pharmacist so that he can have full authority and is responsible for pharmaceutical work. Differences in curriculum background and type of education will lead to confusion regarding competency assessment. At the Pharmacist education level, there is no nationally applicable curriculum until this date. The difference in curriculum causes variations in the knowledge and abilities of graduates. The method used in this study is a review of articles from various legal rules related to pharmaceutical education in Indonesia. The results of this study indicate a need for synchronization of the pharmaceutical policy into one legal aspect so that there is no disharmony among the applied legal regulations. Eventually synergistic legal regulations will emerge, from education to legal certainty for Pharmacist as health professionals.

Abstract

The prevalence of smoking in Indonesia is so high in all walks of life that the government has made several policies to control it. One of them is the inclusion of health warnings and health information on tobacco product packaging which aims to prevent novice smokers from starting smoking, as well as guaranteeing the public's right to clear, correct and honest information, as well as choosing based on clearer (visual) information that they understand (informed decision). The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of active smokers' perceptions of pictorial warnings of the dangers of smoking on cigarette packs. Subjects and Methods: This study uses a qualitative approach and the Extended Parallel Process Model (EPPM) method. The research subjects consisted of active smokers who were found in Pondok Gede District, Bekasi City. Data collection techniques in this study were in-depth interviews. The research instrument used was the researcher himself who was directly involved in the research. Then the technique of checking the validity of the data uses source triangulation. Results: The results showed that the informants' perceptions of the pictorial warnings of the dangers of smoking on cigarette packs varied quite a lot. Not all informants feel afraid and horrified by the scary pictures on cigarette packs. These results affect their beliefs to be able to reduce or quit smoking. Those who feel afraid and spooky of the pictures on cigarette packs have more confidence to be able to stop smoking than those who don't feel scared or spooky. Conclusion: Based on the results of the analysis it can be concluded that the pictorial warnings on cigarette packs has not been able to reduce the desire to quit smoking among informants.

Abstract

One of the functions of hospital bylaws are a means to provide legal protection for all all parties that are related to the hospital. Legal protection is essential for prosecuted hospital staff members. One of the reasons for indictments is adverse events. The goal of this research is to discover how the hospital by-laws protects the hospital staff in the event of an indictment based on an adverse event and how the by-laws adhere to the guidelines in a comprehensive way. The research design used the qualitative method. The results of this research indicates that the hospital by-laws of RSKO Jakarta, although it has served as a protective method, it still needs further technical-operational policies as a supplement, and there are still discrepancies compared to the guidelines. We suggest that the by-laws of RSKO Jakarta are amended to adhere to the governmental guidelines and to establish supplementing technical-operational policies.

Abstract

Public Health Centers (PHCs) are responsible for organizing public health efforts and individual health efforts. PHCs also serve as FKTP, UPTD, sub-district supervisors, and implementers of policies and programs from the Ministry of Health. The workload of PHCs is increasing because people visit PHCs primarily for treatment, rather than seeking preventive measures to stay healthy. The PHCs have Sub-PHCs to lighten the workload of the PHCs, but there is no policy regulating Sub-PHCs to be used as FKTP. This research aims to analyze the policy of Balancing Community and Individual Health Efforts by utilizing Sub-PHCs such as FKTP. The research uses qualitative methods with a policy analysis process design, using primary data from in-depth interviews and FGDs with 14 informants and secondary data by reviewing documents. The research results indicate that PHCs have a heavy workload, and are more focused on medical services, and access to FKTP for communities in remote areas remains challenging. Sub-PHCs deserve to be used as FKTP on par with Pratama Clinics to increase community access to FKTP, particularly in areas with difficult geographical access, and to help lighten the workload of PHCs. It is recommended that the Ministry of Health conduct a policy analysis to support PHCs becoming FKTP, in line with the Minister of Health Regulation Number 43 of 2019, to change the role of the auxiliary health centers (Sub-PHCs) into FKTP.

Abstract

The Tuberculosis (TB) remains a significant threat, especially to healthcare workers exposed by the infected patients in hospitals. Hospital staff with latent TB are at risk of developing active TB. To mitigate this risk, enhancing hospitals through infection prevention and control (IPC) measures is essential. This study aimed to identify policies and practices related to TB prevention, particularly in a teaching hospital where healthcare workers, including medical students, need protection. The research was conducted at a teaching hospital in Depok, West Java, from January to February 2024. The research took place at a teaching hospital in Depok, West Java, from January to February 2024. A qualitative method was used, including in-depth interviews with hospital committee members, nurses, and administrative staff to gather insights, along with policy analysis regarding TB. In the Indonesian hospital TB health services, the regulation of occupational health regarding TB protection for hospital workers state from constitution law, presidential regulation, ministry of health and ministry of Manpower. However, the findings revealed that there are no policies specifically addressing TB to protect the workers in the hospital. Challenges such as financing TB screenings and raising healthcare workers' awareness of TB were highlighted as crucial factors. The study emphasizes the importance of improving risk management strategies and IPC to safeguard healthcare workers, recommending specific regulations for hospitals with national policy. These results highlight the urgent need for specific TB prevention policies, particularly from the government, to ensure implementation across all hospitals.

Abstract

This study analyzes the formulation and implementation process of Depok Mayor Regulation No. 61 of 2023 on Tuberculosis (TB) Control using Friedman's legal system theory (1975) and the eight General Principles of Good Governance (AUPB). The regulation provides a comprehensive framework, encompassing promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative aspects to support TB control. The legal structure includes the establishment of a cross-sectoral Tuberculosis Control Acceleration Team, involving government agencies and community organizations. Findings reveal that while the regulation has fulfilled several AUPB principles, such as legal certainty, utility, and public interest, there are areas requiring improvement. These include strengthening collaboration culture, clearly defining responsibilities among stakeholders, and enhancing transparency. Furthermore, the analysis highlights the need for ongoing evaluation and adjustments to address challenges in implementing the policy effectively. This study concludes that while Depok Mayor Regulation No. 61 of 2023 provides a robust foundation for TB control, its implementation demands further refinements to ensure alignment with good governance principles and the sustainable achievement of tuberculosis elimination goals.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the management of Karisma Cimareme Hospital in addressing its low Google Customer Review ratings. Initial data shows that KCH received an average rating of 2.9 stars, lower than two other private hospitals in West Bandung Regency, IMC Hospital with 3.1 stars and Cahya Kawaluyan Hospital with 4.1 stars. Using the SERVQUAL framework, which includes the dimensions of tangibles, empathy, responsiveness, reliability, and assurance, along with Donabedian's theory, this study focuses on improving service quality through the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The research method involved direct observation of hospital services, in-depth interviews with hospital staff, and analysis of Google Customer Reviews. Data were analyzed using a thematic approach to identify key factors influencing patient reviews and ratings. The results showed that every dimension in the SERVQUAL model significantly affected customer evaluations. The implementation of SOP, involving various parties such as service managers, heads of medical support, head nurses, public relations and marketing teams, and the PIPP team, successfully increased the Google Customer Review rating by 0.7 points, from 2.9 to 3.6. This improvement highlights the importance of a structured approach to enhancing service quality and customer perception. This study provides insights into the challenges faced by hospitals in managing online reviews and offers strategic guidelines for improving patient satisfaction, hospital reputation, and online review management.

Abstract

In relation to the importance of health for every human being, the Ministry of Health provides a large enough budget for improving the quality of health workers through training. However, the evaluations commonly used to measure training effectiveness are generally limited to pre-test and post-test to assess participants' knowledge before and after training (Kirkpatrick level 2 evaluation model). The Kirkpatrick evaluation model is a training evaluation model that is often used to measure the effectiveness of training, namely by measuring the achievement of results based on four levels (level 1 – level 4). Therefore, the authors intend to investigate various literature related to the evaluation model from various levels, which can be developed to evaluate the training of health workers by the Ministry of Health. This literature review follows PRISMA guidelines. Database searches were carried out through PubMed, Scopus and ProQuest search channels in the last 5 years (2017-2022). The results show that level 2 evaluation is most often used to assess the effectiveness of health training outcomes, namely by assessing the improvement of participants' knowledge and skills after training. Fewer level 3 and level 4 evaluations are conducted due to limited time, funds, experience, and tools. However, since each level in Kirkpatrick's evaluation model is interrelated, it is important to be able to evaluate each level sequentially so that information related to training effectiveness can be clearly depicted. Therefore, the Ministry of Health needs to prepare all the necessary resources to be able to assess the effectiveness of training at each level.

Abstract

Macrovascular complications, including stroke, cardiovascular disease (CVD), and peripheral vascular disease (PVD), significantly contribute to morbidity and mortality in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance of artificial intelligence (AI) models in predicting these complications, emphasizing applicability in diverse healthcare settings. Following PRISMA guidelines, a systematic search of six databases was conducted, yielding 46 eligible studies with 184 AI models. Predictive performance was assessed using the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC). Subgroup analyses examined model performance by outcome type, predictor data (lab-only, non-lab, mixed), and algorithm type. Heterogeneity was evaluated using I2 statistics, and sensitivity analyses addressed outliers and study biases. The pooled AUROC for all AI models was 0.753 (95%CI: 0.740–0.766; I2=99.99%). Models predicting PVD achieved the highest AUROC (0.794), followed by cerebrovascular diseases (0.770) and CVD (0.741). Gradient-boosting algorithms outperformed others (AUROC: 0.789). Models with lab-only predictors had superior performance (AUROC: 0.837) compared to mixed (0.759) and non-lab predictors (0.714). External validations reported reduced AUROC (0.725), underscoring limitations in generalizability. AI models show moderate predictive accuracy for T2DM macrovascular complications, with laboratory-based predictors being key to performance. However, the limited external validation and reliance on high-resource data restrict implementation in low-resource settings. Future efforts should focus on non-lab predictors, external validation, and context-appropriate AI solutions to enhance global applicability.

Abstract

The spread of LGBT groups is currently increasingly unstoppable and increasingly growing attacking Adolescent, where Adolescent are the nation's successor assets. If left unchecked, this crucial problem will trigger social change and trigger the emergence of a hedonic society that is immoral, permissive, and physically and psychologically ill. To fight sexual orientation deviation, a system thinking approach is needed as an effective control strategy, because the influence of system damage caused has an impact on various fields such as health, society, education, and religion. Through system thinking, a strategy is designed that is seen from the input, process, output, and feedback from the sexual orientation prevention system in the form of a sexual orientation prediction model to stem the flow of the massive LGBT movement and spread in Indonesia. The search for the root of the problem in screening adolescent sexual orientation deviations will use iceberg tools and mapped in Causal Loop diagrams. Knowing the root of the problem is an important key in screening, providing education, and therapy so that it suits the needs of each individual. This sexual orientation deviation prevention strategy is expected to be one of the KRR programs and to run effectively, it certainly requires the involvement of various parties, both families, community leaders, religious leaders, educators, health workers, and of course also control from the government as policyholders.
