Abstract

Factors Affecting Teachers' Morale in Doing Their Professional Tasks at the Elementary Schools. The study attempted to describe teachers' morale and factors affecting the teachers' morale to do their professional tasks. The sample consisted of 300 teachers of the public elementary schools in Yogyakarta taken by cluster proporsional random sampling. The data were gathered by questionnaires, interview and documentary, and then analyzed statistically by mean and standard deviation. The results showed that the mean of teachers' morale was 147.33 with standard deviation 9.62. It means that the teachers had a high morale to do their professional tasks. There were positive influences of school condition, principal leadership, education and salary of teachers, but there were no influences of work period and profession level to the teachers'morale to do their professional tasks.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate correlation between teacher meeting in teacher supervision organization (KKG) and teachers' teaching competence. It was conducted in public elementary schools in Singosari Malang. The sampel consisted of 48 teachers of 20 public elementary schools taken by cluster proporsional random sampling. The data was collected by questionnaires and observation. The result showed that there was correlation between teachers participation in the meeting and their competence. All activities in the teachers meeting have correlation with teaching competence of teachers.

Abstract

The latest ‘freedom to learn’ policy, issued by the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, must be implemented by educational institutions at various levels. The principals played significant roles such as community empowerment to utilize all resources in the schools to support the policy. The research aimed to describe the principals’ efforts in improving community participation in the school and to describe the social involvement in facilitating the freedom to learn at schools. This study employed a qualitative approach with a multi-case research design, and it was conducted in Indonesia, particularly in Tana Tidung Regency in North Kalimantan, Bondowoso Regency in East Java, and Malang City in East Java. The data collection techniques included in-depth interviews and document studies, and to validate the data used a credibility technique. The data validation through the credibility technique was carried out by conducting triangulation, checking members, and improving the persistence and adequacy of reference materials. The cross-case data analysis in this study applied a constant comparative method. The analysis was conducted in all three cases resulted in the provisional findings, continued by data comparison that would later be found by the three cases. The results of this research were the principals’ efforts in enhancing community participation through cooperation with several related parties. The principals were regarded as role models in supporting the ‘freedom to learn’ policy and building cooperation with related partners. The kind of community participation varied based on the uniqueness of each region.

Abstract

Tahap penting dalam penelitian dan pengembangan adalah analisis potensi dan masalah. Analisis potensi dan masalah dimaksudkan untuk mendapatkan jawaban alasan kebutuhan pengembangan dilakukan. Untuk mendapatkan jawaban atas kebutuhan pengembangan model supervisi pembelajaran di SD inklusi, maka dilakukan dengan: 1) menganalisis literatur yang mendukung pendidikan inklusif; 2) analisis kebijakan atau undang-undang yang mendukung pendidikan inklusif; 3) analisis pembelajaran yang mendukung pendidikan inklusif; dan 4) melakukan penelitian pendahuluan untuk memetakan kebutuhan pengembangan supervisi pembelajaran. Empat cara telah dilakukan dalam analisis potensi dan masalah pada tahap konseptualisasi pengembangan model supervisi pembelajaran di SD inklusi. Namun, dalam tulisan ini, penulis membatasi paparan pada analisis potensi dan masalah pada nomor satu sampai tiga di atas. Metode penelitian dengan menggunakan literatur, yaitu: untuk mengumpulkan berbagai referensi dan dianalisis lebih lanjut. Literatur yang membahas isu-isu inklusif adalah: psikologi pendidikan dan ilmu pendidikan. Produk hukum yang memperkuat pendidikan inklusif di Provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, lebih dari 15 produk undang-undang dan peraturan baik tingkat provinsi maupun tingkat dua. Pembelajaran yang mendukung pendidikan inklusif, seperti dalam standar proses, terutama dalam penyusunan prinsip RPP, harus memperhatikan perbedaan individu peserta didik.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the management process of disciplining the culture of high school students. This study used a descriptive qualitative design with a multi-site study design. Col-lecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Data were analyzed by stages of data condensation, data display, and conclusions, verification. The results of the study show that: (1) discipline of students emphasizes time discipline, dressing, appearance; (2) discipline is applied so that students can become quality and superior people; (3) discipline is built by disseminating rules and sanctions for violations, cooperation with parents; (4) the strategy of building a culture of discipline is to enforce order, punishment, morning ceremonies, spiritual activities; (5) constraints faced by per-sonal learners and parents, the solution taken is to provide guidance and punishment for violating stu-dents, as well as building good cooperation and communication with parents; (6) the results of the im-plementation of disciplinary culture have gone well.Key Words: discipline cultures, middle school students, Sumba cultureAbstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses manajemen budaya pendisiplinan peserta didik di Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA). Rancangan kualitatif deskriptif desain studi multi situs digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan tahapan kondensasi data, display data, dan kesimpulan, penarikan/verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) pendisiplinan peserta didik ditekankan pada disiplin waktu, berpakaian, berpenampilan; (2) disiplin diterapkan agar peserta didik dapat menjadi insan berkualitas dan unggul; (3) disiplin dibangun dengan mensosialisasikan tata tertib dan sanksi pelanggaran, kerjasama dengan orang tua; (4) strategi membangun budaya disiplin ialah memberlakukan tata tertib, hukuman, apel pagi, kegiatan kerohanian; (5) kendala yang dihadapi dari pribadi peserta didik dan orang tua, solusi yang dilakukan, yaitu memberikan pembinaan dan hukuman bagi peserta didik yang melanggar, serta membangun kerja sama dan komunikasi yang baik dengan orang tua; (6) hasil penerapan budaya pendisiplinan sudah berjalan baik.Kata kunci: budaya disiplin, siswa SMA, budaya Sumba

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to describes about the implementation of character education in learning and to know the supporting factors and restricting factor in the implementation of character education in learning in SDIT Insan Sejahtera Sumedang Regency. This research employed a qualitative approach with a single case study. Data were collected by using indepth interviews, observation, documentation, and finally data were analized by qualitative descriptive. The results showed that the implementation of character education in schools is carried out in an integrated manner in all subjects, in extracurricular activities, and the activities of habituation. The results of this study are expected to be useful for educators and education personnel to make innovations in order to improve the quality of learning associated with the formation of students character.Key Words: Islamic primary school, character education, learningAbstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran serta mengetahui faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam implementasi pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran di SDIT Insan Sejahtera Kabupaten Sumedang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi kasus tunggal. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan wawancara mendalam, observasi, dokumentasi, dan data dianalisis secara kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, implementasi pendidikan karakter di sekolah tersebut dilaksanakan secara terintegrasi dalam semua mata pelajaran, kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, dan kegiatan pembiasaan. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat bermanfaat bagi para pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan untuk melakukan inovasi dalam rangka meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran yang terkait dengan pembentukan karakter siswa.Kata kunci: sekolah dasar Islam, pendidikan karakter, pembelajaran

Abstract

Abstract: Supporting students can develop well supporting the selection of appropriate media specifically in developing listening and storytelling abilities. Researchers looking for the influence of the shadow play media show the ability to listen and tell stories in grade II elementary school. This study uses quantitative research with the design of Quasi-Experiment Pretest and posttest Control Group Design. Displaying performance shows using the Puppet Show media has been in accordance with the steps of the activities that are developed, and there is a development with the use of the Puppet Performance media to the ability to listen and tell the second grade students with sig. the experimental class of 0.144 which is smaller than 0.05 in the control class.Abstrak: Kemampuan berbahasa siswa dapat berkembang dengan baik apabila didukung pemilihan media yang tepat khususnya dalam pengembangan kemampuan menyimak dan bercerita. Peneliti mencari pengaruh media puppet show terhadap kemampuan menyimak dan bercerita kelas II SD. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan rancangan Quasi-Experiment Pretest and postest Control Group Design. Hasilnya menunjukkan pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media Puppet Show telah sesuai dengan langkah kegiatan yang dikembangkan, dan ada pengaruh dengan penggunaan media Puppet Show terhadap kemampuan menyimak dan bercerita siswa kelas II dengan nilai sig. kelas eksperimen yaitu 0,144 yang lebih kecil dari 0,05 pada kelas kontrol.

Abstract

Abstract: The application of Montessori learning model is able to form the character of early childhood discipline optimally. The focus of this research is planning, implementing and evaluating the Montessori learning model in shaping the character of discipline in children at Tk Aba 36 Malang. This research uses qualitative methods, the type of research is a case study. Data collection are techniques of observation, interview and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the formation of disciplinary character through habituation, role model and consistency so as to make children able to be self-disciplined, independent and responsible. So that, children develop very well in arranging their own shoes, lining up for washing hands, returning toys, keeping classrooms clean and disposing of trash in its place.Abstrak: Penerapan model pembelajaran Montessori mampu membentuk karakter disiplin anak usia dini secara optimal. Focus penelitian ini adalah perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi model pembelajaran Montessori dalam membentuk karakter disiplin pada anak di Tk Aba 36 Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, jenis penelitian yaitu studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui obervasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pembentukan karakter disiplin melalui pembiasaan, tauladan serta konsisten sehingga menjadikan anak mampu berdisplin diri, mandiri serta bertanggung jawab. Terlihat dari, anak berkembang sangat baik dalam menata sepatu sendiri, antri mencuci tangan, mengembalikan mainan, menjaga kebersihan ruang kelas serta membuang sampah pada tempatnya.

Abstract

One of the phenomenon in the 20th century that is currently being discussed is about emerging and the development of many social networking media. The media is now a trend all over among the people regardless of age, it is because social networking media provides convenience services in communicating, in particular interact and share information between human. If associated in the context of education, then social networking media to be one of the means of communication that can be utilized in the process of education management and learning for teachers.Salah satu fenomena pada abad ke-20 yang saat ini sedang ramai diperbincangkan adalah tentang berkembangnya media jejaring sosial. Media tersebut kini menjadi trend di seluruh kalangan masyarakat tanpa memandang usia, hal itu dikarenakan media jejaring sosial memberikan kemudahan layanan dalam berkomunikasi, khususnya berinteraksi dan berbagi informasi antar manusia. Jika dikaitkan dalam konteks pendidikan, maka media jejaring sosial menjadi salah satu sarana komunikasi yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam proses manajemen pendidikan dan pembelajaran bagi guru. Pemanfaatan media tersebut tentu memiliki dampak positif dan negatif yang dapat memengaruhi keberhasilan lembaga pendidikan dalam mencapai tujuan.

Abstract

Abstract: This research was aimed to describe a full day school system in strengthening the character of students at Kauman 1 Elementary School and SD Muhammadiyah 4. The study used qualitative descriptive. Techniques for introducing data, interviews and documents. The results of the study (1) the idea of developing a full day school system emerged because the parents of participants were working, the curriculum was in accordance with government programs; (2) planning with academic preparation, conditioning the school, developing syllabus and RPP, and integrating character; (3) implementation consisting of collaboration educational staff, establish communication and cooperation with parents, harmonious relationships between teachers and students, integrate values in learning, self-development, and school culture; (4) student success; (5) the meaning of the school consists of results, implications, supporting factors, inhibitors and efforts. The impact on parents who are helped and the results of the character of the students, namely religious, disciplined, responsible, independent, caring for the environment and caring for socially achieve positive results. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan sistem full day school dalam menguatkan karakter peserta didik di SDN Kauman 1 dan SD Muhammadiyah 4. Penelitian menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumen. Hasil penelitian (1) ide pengembangan sistem full day school muncul karena orangtua peserta didik bekerja, kurikulum sesuai dengan program pemerintah (2) perencanaan dengan menyusun kalender akademik, mengondisikan sekolah, mengembangkan silabus dan RPP, dan pengintegrasian karakter (3) pelaksanaan terdiri atas kerjasama tenaga kependidikan, hubungan pendidik dengan orangtua peserta didik, mengintegrasi karakter dalam proses pembelajaran, hubungan baik antara guru dengan peserta didik, program pengembangan diri, serta budaya sekolah, (4) evaluasi terdiri dari penilaian tenaga pendidik, kerjasama dengan orangtua, dan penilaian keberhasilan peserta didik, dan (5) dampak bagi sekolah terdiri dari hasil, implikasi, faktor pendukung, penghambat dan upaya. Dampak bagi orangtua merasa terbantu dan hasil karakter peserta didik yaitu religius, disiplin, tanggung jawab, mandiri, peduli lingkungan, dan peduli sosial mencapai hasil yang positif.
