Abstract

Academic Engagement is an important concern considering that nursing students will be directly involved with patients and provide nursing care to patients directly. Ideally, undergraduate nursing students in the emerging adulthood phase have a high level of academic engagement. However, reality shows that there are still many students with relatively low levels of academic engagement. This will later have an impact on low academic achievement, low student competence, increased disengagement and increased drop out rates among students. Previous research results show that academic engagement is related to academic resilience and academic self-efficacy. Therefore, the aim of this research is to determine the influence of academic resilience and academic self-efficacy on the academic engagement of undergraduate nursing students. This type of research is correlational with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample was 312 undergraduate nursing students from STIKes Dian Husada Mojokerto with a sampling technique using stratified random sampling. Statistical analysis uses multiple linear regression. The research results show that academic resilience and academic self-efficacy influence the academic engagement of nursing students.

Abstract

The background of this study is the comprehensive changes in social life due to the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, which is assumed to affect many aspects of the education sector. This study analyses the relationship between two selected variables: organizational climate and teacher performance in public primary schools after the COVID-19 pandemic. This research is a quantitative study with a correlational research design. Data was collected using a closed questionnaire distributed to 128 primary school teacher respondents. The instrument used was a questionnaire sheet. The number of respondents obtained by researchers is determined through cluster sampling techniques, also known as cluster sampling techniques. The results showed a significant and simultaneous relationship between organizational climate and teacher performance in public elementary schools with an extreme category relationship level. Thus, the post-pandemic organizational climate significantly correlates with teacher performance in public primary schools after the COVID-19 pandemic. The results of this study can also be used as a basis for further research to analyze differences in two periods with the same variables.

Abstract

The quality of school life reflects students’ perceptions of satisfaction and well-being based on their positive and negative experiences in school settings. This study presents a psychometric adaptation of the Quality of School Life (QSL) scale into the Indonesian context—a crucial step, as no culturally validated version of this instrument previously existed in Indonesia. The study involved 203 high school students and utilized the adapted QSL scale for data collection via Google Forms. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was used to evaluate the construct validity. The initial version included 29 items, but two items were excluded due to factor loadings below 0.40. The remaining 27 items showed factor loadings between 0.508 and 0.890. The model fit indices demonstrated satisfactory results (RMSEA = 0.048, CFI = 0.930, TLI = 0.923, SRMR = 0.077). The scale exhibited strong reliability, with Composite Reliability (CR) = 0.98 and Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.921. Content validity assessed by 12 expert judges yielded an Aiken’s V index of 0.79. Convergent validity was supported by AVE values above 0.50 in all dimensions, while discriminant validity was indicated by the square root of AVE exceeding inter-construct correlations—except for one dimension. These findings confirm the strong psychometric properties of the adapted instrument. The study contributes a culturally relevant and statistically validated tool for assessing students' school life quality in Indonesia, which can serve as a foundation for broader educational evaluation and policy improvement.

Abstract

This study explores the actualization of Tahfidz Al-Qur'an learning management in the Tarbiyatul Qur'an Lawang Islamic Boarding School, focusing on internal and external factors influencing its effectiveness. Utilizing a qualitative case study approach, data collection was conducted through interviews, observations, and documentation. The research findings reveal that the planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluation processes are systematically and structurally applied, emphasizing methods like talaqqi and muraja’ah. These approaches enhance the quality and quantity of memorization while maintaining student motivation and discipline. Notably, teacher responsibilities are carefully divided based on experience and expertise, with students grouped according to their memorization level, ensuring personalized and efficient learning. This research highlights critical supporting factors, such as parental involvement and strong self-motivation among students, while also addressing challenges like psychological pressure and inconsistent external support. Unlike previous studies, which primarily examined general educational management, this study delves deeply into the unique contextual factors shaping Tahfidz learning in Islamic Boarding School. The findings contribute a novel perspective on optimizing Islamic boarding school education, particularly by proposing structured and adaptive strategies that balance traditional memorization techniques with modern pedagogical practices. The implications of this research extend beyond the specific context of Islamic Boarding School Tahfidz Qur’an Tarbiyatul Qur'an, offering valuable insights for Islamic boarding schools worldwide facing similar challenges. Future research is recommended to explore the integration of technological tools in Tahfidz learning and the role of psychological support in sustaining student engagement.

Abstract

This study examines the differences in career readiness between male and female students at the high school level, with a focus on cognitive strategies, knowledge of career content, and contextual skills and awareness.  This study uses a quantitative method with a survey design and involves 300 high school students in D.I. Yogyakarta who are selected through convenience sampling techniques. Data were collected using the Conley theory-based Career Readiness Scale, which has been tested with the RASCH model, and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results of the analysis show that female students have higher career readiness than male students. Significant differences were found in cognitive strategy, knowledge of career content, and contextual skills and awareness, while there were no meaningful differences in academic behavior. These findings underscore the importance of a gender-tailored approach to career guidance and counseling services in schools.
