Abstract

In this digital era, social media has become a very effective tool for candidates and political parties to communicate, influence voters, and promote their messages. The tight world of politics requires political parties to create personal branding that differentiates them from other political parties. This research aims to explore in-depth the strategies for building personal branding carried out by new Indonesian political parties on social media. The researcher focused on three new political parties active on social media, namely the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), the Indonesian Unity Party (Perindo), and the Indonesian People's Wave Party (Gelora). This research analyses the official Twitter accounts of the three parties from September 2020 to June 2023. The choice of this period is essential to maintaining data consistency and ensuring that the analysis can find strategies for building personal branding without interference from intense campaign activities. This research uses qualitative methods with a Qualitative Content Analysis (QCA) approach. NVivo12 plus software was used to help visualise the data. This research shows that PSI is building its personal branding using a millennial-style approach, Perindo is focusing on welfare issues, and Gelora Party is relying on experienced senior figures. Overall, this research emphasises that an effective personal branding strategy requires a deep understanding of the target audience, selecting relevant issues, and using credible figures.

Abstract

Twitter is the main platform for digital campaigns that influence public opinion. Through Twitter, political parties reach a wider audience to disseminate messages effectively. This research analyses narrative content on social media as a medium for political party campaigns delivered via social media. This research examines the campaign content strategy of nationalist party Twitter accounts in Indonesia. The method used is a qualitative method utilising Quality Data Analysis (QDA) with the help of Nvivo 12 Plus software. Three nationalist party Twitter accounts were taken based on their popularity, particularly @Gerindra, @Nasdem, and @PDI_Perjuangan. The @Gerindra account with 68.1 thousand followers highlights aspects of the party's identity and the figure of Prabowo Subianto. In contrast, the @NasDem account focuses more on party identity, national issues, and active participation in political society. The @PDI_Perjuangan account focuses on the spirit of struggle, the candidacy of Ganjar Pranowo, and the construction of the party's identity and history, with high activity, namely 1219 tweets in three months. The results of the analysis of the content of nationalist party Twitter accounts can provide insight into political party communication strategies in digital campaigns in Indonesia.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the rise of radicalism in the digital age has facilitated the spread of radical movements, particularly across social media networks. Radicalism has manifested in physical violence, often resulting in significant human casualties. This research investigates how internet media influences public literacy in countering terrorism in Indonesia. This study uses discourse analysis to examine secondary data from social media content on Twitter, Instagram, and online news sources concerning counter-radicalism and anti-terrorism efforts. These data sources are selected based on the premise that Internet media is a primary communication tool for disseminating public discourse. Additionally, the National Counter Terrorism Agency (NCTA), as a governmental body, plays a critical role in combating terrorism in Indonesia. The findings reveal that social media effectively enhances public literacy on radicalism and terrorism. Moreover, NCTA's initiatives have successfully mobilised community engagement against terrorism and radicalism in the public sphere. This research demonstrates that NCTA can significantly advance de-radicalisation efforts through the strategic use of internet media. NCTA's socialisation and de-radicalisation programs serve as crucial preventive measures against terrorism in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract

Before COVID-19 , almost all businesses were doing well with MSMEs. However, when COVID-19  emerged, the situation reversed. There were 14.1% of MSMEs that stated that their business conditions were good, while 56.8% stated that their business conditions were bad. This study focuses on the growth of MSMEs in Indonesia after the COVID-19  epidemic. It uses qualitative research methodology to investigate the role of MSMEs in responding to the COVID-19  epidemic. The analysis used data from media reports from 2020-2024 and previous research projects. This research uses the observation method, which is a data collection method used to observe and understand a phenomenon in the context of the research. The COVID-19  pandemic has significantly impacted the performance of MSMEs with an increase in e-commerce by 27%, an increase in human resources by 19%, a decrease in sales by 12%, and an increase in social media adoption by 17%. These results show that the development of MSMEs after the COVID-19  pandemic is influenced by a combination of MSME performance, digitalization, HR competencies, social media adoption, financial literacy, and effective marketing strategies.

Abstract

Recently, reducing hunger has become a top priority on Africa’s development agenda. Despite efforts by governments and international donors, hunger continues to worsen across the continent. While much of the existing research has focused on the political and socio-economic drivers of hunger in Africa, few studies have explored the challenges faced when implementing policies aimed at addressing this issue, such as the 2030 Africa Agenda on Zero Hunger. This study aims to fill this gap by examining the integration, adaptability, and goal achievement of the policy using Richard M. Steers’ Effectiveness Theory as a framework. Qualitative data were collected through in-depth interviews, policy reports (2016–2024), peer-reviewed articles, and other relevant documents, then analysed with NVivo 12 Plus. The findings reveal barriers to integration caused by poor communication and limited consensus-building among stakeholders, and challenges in adaptation related to insufficient local contextualisation and capacity building. Concerning goal attainment, hunger has increased from 270.6 million to 295 million in 2024, food insecurity stands at 57.9%, and agricultural investments have decreased by 2.69%. This research contributes to the existing literature by illustrating how weak implementation can hinder policy goals, emphasising the need for more inclusive, context-sensitive, and well-coordinated strategies across Africa.

Abstract

This study examines Covid-19 vaccination policies in the United States and China. The method used in this research is qualitative research with a literature study approach. This research sends research map information using export data to RIS Export file format, which is then processed using VOSviewers to determine the big data that will be analyzed to obtain comparative data results of this research with previous research. In the second discussion, the author processed the data using Nvivo 12 to explore and describe the COVID-19 vaccination Policy in the United States and China to explain the data efficiently. This study found that the United States and China showed a strong government response to control the spread of COVID-19. The findings suggest that countries with effective vaccination policies tend to be more successful in curbing the spread of COVID-19 than countries without vaccination programs. Governments in both countries have implemented various policies to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19, such as lockdowns, social distancing, quarantine, and vaccination policies. The vaccination policy in the United States and China is successful because the vaccination presence in the two countries is fairly high, with the United States reaching 73.65% while China reaching 87.24%.
