Abstract

The Independent Curriculum calls for students to actively participate in science classes through simple practicum exercises, However, the problem is that not all schools carry out simple practicum exercises in science learning. The purpose of this research is to outline the preparation, execution, and challenges of basic hands-on scientific learning activities in three Banda Aceh elementary schools. The study employed a case study design and a qualitative methodology. Teacher interviews, observation, and document analysis were used to gather data, which was then descriptively evaluated. The subjects of this study took three teachers from three different schools, namely SD Negeri 35 Banda Aceh, SD Negeri 54 Banda Aceh and SD Negeri 46 Banda Aceh. The data analysis technique used was data triangulation. The findings demonstrated how well-organized and in line with learning objectives the practical preparation was. Students were allowed to actively participate in the actual implementation and acquire science process skills. Time management and the classroom were the main areas of difficulty. It has been demonstrated that straightforward practical exercises improve students' comprehension of scientific ideas in a more tangible and significant way. Abstract

Students are required to master the subject matter and also create teaching modules that follow differentiated learning guidelines. This aligns with the objectives of the Merdeka Curriculum, which prioritizes student-centered learning. The purpose of this study was to analyze students' abilities in developing differentiated teaching modules. The method used in this research is a quantitative descriptive method. The subjects were 16 student teachers in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The research instrument was a differentiated teaching module assessment instrument sheet. The teaching module documents were collected and then analyzed using descriptive statistics with percentage techniques, which were interpreted into scores. Based on the analysis results, students' abilities in designing differentiated teaching modules at PGMI are classified as good and lacking, with a score of 37% for differentiated learning mapping, 73% for general information, 72% for core competencies, and 33% for attachments. This demonstrates the need for the PGMI study program to develop specific training related to differentiated learning mapping and the development of teaching modules, as well as to strengthen lecturer support for students' teaching module design assignments. The results of this study can serve as a basis for curriculum evaluation and the development of learning tools to enhance the competency of PGMI students. Abstract

Misconceptions are seen as a learning barrier because they hinder students from learning and understanding new concepts. Misconceptions about mastering physics concepts occur in Newton’s Laws. The language that is difficult to understand and errors in writing are some of the causes. To overcome those problems, this study aims to use a comic-based e-module assisted by a flipbook maker to remediate misconceptions about Newton’s Laws. The research method is a pre-experimental design, with one group for prе-tеѕt and pоѕt-tеѕt. A total of 22 samples were selected based on the purposive sampling technique. The data were collected twice during the pretest and post-test using a three-tier multiple-choice diagnostic test consisting of 20 items. The analysis of misconception remediation indicates a decrease in misconceptions from 57.01% to 20.24%, with an N-Gain score of 0.71. This implies a significant reduction of misconceptions before and after treatment. This data is also supported by the results of the Wilcoxon test analysis, that is, 0.000<0.5, which means that the use of comic-based e-module significantly affects the remediation of students’ misconceptions of Newton’s Law material. This e-module is expected to be an alternative for teachers in remediating misconceptions in learning physics.

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze research trends on ethnoscience using bibliometric analysis from 2008-2023. The research sample consisted of 153 documents obtained from the Scopus database. The results of the study show that the distribution of publication frequency reaches its peak in 2021 with 32 articles identified. The distribution of research themes consists of 4 primary clusters and 35 secondary clusters. The ethnoscience research area is dominated by social science research (30.2%). The country with the best documents shows that Indonesia is ranked first as the most productive country in publishing on ethnoscience with 74 identified documents. The United States released second place with 28 documents, third Brazil with 10 documents, fourth Canada with 9 documents, and fifth France, Germany, Italy and the Russian Federation with 5 documents each. Institutions that contributed the most came from Indonesia, Universitas Negeri Semarang 22 papers 33.66%, University of Alberta 9 papers 13.77%, Universitas Negeri Surabaya 7 papers 10.71, Universitas Negeri Padang 7 papers 7.65%. The best author with the highest number of citations is Dahdouh. Meanwhile, if we look at the number of documents published by the author, Sudarmin has 10 documents with a contribution of 15.3%.

Abstract

Critical thinking includes higher processes, such as analysis, synthesis, evaluation, conclusion, and reflection. This research aims to determine the profile level of students' critical thinking abilities. The research sample consisted of 28 students taken by random sampling consisting of 2 classes. Data was obtained through test and non-test techniques which included a critical thinking ability test using 20 questions. Meanwhile, the non-test uses an observation sheet on students' critical thinking abilities. Analysis of data obtained from the results of students' critical thinking skills tests was then analyzed using analysis items with the Rasch model. The results of the profile analysis of students' critical thinking skills were classified as moderate. This is proven by test results and observations in basic biology courses. Based on the results of tests on students' critical thinking skills, it is known that there are 16 students who have high levels of critical thinking skills, 5 students with moderate critical thinking skills, and 6 students with weak critical thinking skills. Meanwhile, the results of observations of the critical thinking abilities of Bima Muhammadiyah University students in basic biology courses are in the moderate critical thinking ability category with a category score of around 68.06%.

Abstract

Science learning in the Merdeka Curriculum emphasizes the development of scientific attitudes as an essential component of the learning process. Scientific attitudes are needed to cultivate students' carefulness, honesty, critical thinking, and curiosity toward the phenomena they study. This study aims to describe the role of teachers in fostering scientific attitudes in fifth-grade science learning at State Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MIN) in Aceh Besar Regency, both at the planning and implementation stages of instruction. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method with a case study design. The research subjects consisted of three fifth-grade teachers from three State Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Aceh Besar. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that teachers have made efforts to foster scientific attitudes in science learning; However, their implementation varies across schools and has not been consistently integrated into every learning activity. Scientific attitudes were reflected in observing, questioning, and discussion activities, with varying levels of intensity and depth depending on classroom conditions and teachers' instructional practices. Therefore, continuous reinforcement and habituation are needed to optimize the cultivation of scientific attitudes in science learning.
