Abstract

Mechanical waves conceptual survey (MWCS) is a measurement tool established by the physics education research (PER) community to evaluate conceptual physics understanding of mechanical waves. A validation study is still needed to figure out the factor structure of MWCS using two data reduction techniques, namely exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and principal component analysis (PCA). The MWCS dataset in this paper was gathered from physics students (n = 419) from nineteen Ugandan secondary schools. The findings of this research suggested the single factor of the MWCS construct that has emerged from the dataset explored in this study. Several issues involved in the calculation of inter-item correlation within the dataset are suspected as the leading cause of the missing component solution or stable loading in the data. Moreover, there might be other issues that leave open space for future exploration. The findings reported in this paper could be the subject of further discussion in evaluating the validity of the MWCS as a research-based assessment (RBA) to measure students' conceptual understanding of wave mechanics within PER studies.

Abstract

Creative thinking is one of the tallents required for the Industrial Revolution 4.0. The goal of this research is to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the bibliometric literature on physics students' creative thinking abilities. Scopus data base articles discovered using publish software or perish (pop). This research analyzes 70 of 102 publications discovered in the Scopus database between 1960 to 2020. Mendeley's Reference Manager software is then used to handle the selected reference. After maintaining the database, this study uses Vosviewer software to classify and visualize it. In general, this study serves as an excellent starting point for future research on "creative thinking in physics." The principal result of this article is that are seven clusters, the authors who contribute the most and wherever the location of this research is carried out from the keyword “Creative Thinking in Physics”.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar pasca Covid-19. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) meningkatkan hasil belajar fisika, 2) memulihkan pembelajaran, dan 3) mengetahui keterlaksanaan implementasi PjBL pasca Covid-19. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dan masing-masing siklus terdiri dari 4 pertemuan yang terdiri dari 4 tahap: perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Penelitian dilakukan di SMAN 1 Piyungan, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Subjek penelitian kelas XI MIPA-3 berjumlah 36 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan observasi. Jenis data kuantitatif berupa hasil belajar siswa. Data kualitatif berupa hasil observasi. Analisis data menggunakan Microsoft Excel dan uji statistik menggunakan JASP yaitu uji-t parametrik sampel berpasangan atau uji-t dependen untuk melihat perbedaan hasil belajar sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan treatment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa:1) implementasi PjBL dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan rerata hasil belajar pada siklus I sebesar 78,333 dan rerata hasil belajar pada siklus II sebesar 80,000, 2) pembelajaran dengan model PjBL dapat memulihkan pembelajaran fisika pada materi termodinamika dan pemanasan global, dan 3) implementasi PjBL pasca Covid-19 dapat terlaksana dengan baik dan lancar menggunakan 6 sintaks pembelajaran yaitu penentuan pertanyaan mendasar, mendesain perencanaan proyek, menyusun jadwal, memonitor siswa dan kemajuan proyek, menguji hasil, dan mengevaluasi pengalaman.

Abstract

The development of education in the 21st century requires educators and students to be able to improve critical thinking skills. The process of improving critical thinking skills requires a learning model, one of which is through a guided inquiry model. The application of the inquiry model is able to train students to have the ability to think about something new so that they can solve students' own concepts or ideas. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the guided inquiry model on students' critical thinking skills. Data collection techniques were carried out by browsing various articles related to the inquiry model and critical thinking skills through Google, Google Scholar, and Scopus. The search results obtained 35 articles or related journals. Data analysis technique was carried out in a quantitative descriptive manner using the help of Microsoft Excel and JASP applications. The results showed that the results of the analysis using the random effect had a significant positive effect or correlation between the guided inquiry model on students' critical thinking skills in science lessons. The results of the egger test and fail safe N analysis show that there is no publication bias in the meta-analytical studies discussed, so that the analyzed meta-analytical studies can be scientifically justified.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an assessment instrument (Attitude Toward Physics) with Peer and Self Assessment Techniques to Grow an Attitude of Responsibility and Student Cooperation towards learning physics. The research method used is development research. The research design is in the form of a 4-D model developed by Thiagarajan (1994) with stages that include define, design, develop, and dissemination. Test the validity of the instrument using content validation carried out by the validator. Analysis of the reliability of the instrument using the Alpha Crounbach formula. The validation results from the validator state that the affective assessment instrument (Attitude Toward Physics) with Peer and Self Assessment Techniques to Grow Students' Attitudes of Responsibility and Cooperation towards learning physics is feasible to use.

Abstract

The development of character assessment instruments can be derived from the school culture which is arranged in the curriculum at the education unit level. The purpose of this study was to develop and simultaneously test the validity and reliability of a character assessment instrument in the form of a character survey to evaluate character education in the Cooperation Education Unit (SPK) based on school culture. The ADDIE development model was used in developing the character assessment instrument. The product was extensively tested on 200 students from one SPK school, and the data were processed using IBM SPSS 25 for Windows and LISREL 8.80. Using various validity tests on the 25 statement items, it was found that: (1) in the content validity test, 22 (88%) statement items had very good validity, and 3 (12%) statement items had good validity, (2 ) in the construct validity test, it was obtained that all statement items can measure the construct and meet the specified goodness of fit criteria, (3)  in the empirical validity test, the minimum value of rh is 0.201 and is greater than rt (0.138) so that the instrument can be declared as valid, and (4) under the reliability test using Cronbach’s Alpha as a metric, the instrument obtained a value of 0.943 or very high. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the character survey instrument developed is feasible to be used in evaluating school culture-based character education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of strengthening questioning skills with the guided inquiry learning model on student learning outcomes. This type of research is quasi-experimental. The population in the study were all students of class XI semester II with a sample of class XI IPA 3 and class XI IPA 4, each of which consisted of 36 students. Sampling in this study was carried out randomly. The research design was a two group pre-test post-test design. The instrument used in the study was a multiple choice test consisting of 20 questions and post-test result with an average score of 76.94 for the experimental class and 70.13 for the control class. The result of the t-test stated that there was a significant influence between the learning outcomes of students who used strengthening asking skills with the guided inquiry learning model and learning without being given reinforcement of asking skills in class XI semester II students at Madrasah Aliyah.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menghasilkan produk LKPD dengan pendekatan saintifik yang layak digunakan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik kelas X SMA N 1 Sokaraja pada materi usaha dan energi, (2) mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik (ranah kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor) pada materi usaha dan energi menggunakan LKPD dengan pendekatan saintifik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model 4-D yaitu define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas X IPA 5 SMA N 1 Sokaraja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) diperoleh LKPD dengan pendekatan saintifik yang layak digunakan untuk pembelajaran di kelas X SMA N 1 Sokaraja pada materi usaha dan energi, berdasarkan hasil penilaian validator 85,71% (reliabel) dan berdasarkan respon peserta didik mencapai 81% (sangat layak), (2) peningkatan hasil belajar aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor ditunjukkan dengan nilai standar gain g berturut-turut sebesar 0,73 (tinggi), 0,54 (sedang), dan 0,43 (sedang).Kata Kunci: LKPD, Pendekatan Saintifik, Hasil Belajar Peserta Didik, Usaha dan EnergiAbstract This research aims to: (1) produce students worksheet product based scientific approach which is proper to be used to improve learning outcomes of the student class X SMA 1 Sokaraja on work and energy, (2) to know improve learning outcomes of the student (cognitive, affective, and psychomotor) on work and energy using students worksheet based scientific approach. This research is a development research with 4-D model that is define, design, develop, and disseminate. The subjects of this research were students of class X IPA 5 SMA N 1 Sokaraja. The result of this research are: (1) students worksheet based scientific approach which is proper to be used to improve learning outcomes of the student class X SMA 1 Sokaraja on work and energy, based on result of students worksheet validator assessment 85.71% (reliable) and based on the response of student reaching 81% (very proper), (2) improvement of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspect learning outcomes is shown by the standard gain value g 0.73 (high), 0, 54 (medium), and 0.43 (medium)Keywords: Student Worksheet, Scientific Approach, Learning Outcomes, Work and Energy.

Abstract

Dwitami Hediati, Edi Istiyono (dwihediati@gmail.com) ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menghasilkan produk LKPD berbasis mindscaping yang layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kreatif peserta didik kelas X SMA pada materi impuls dan momentum linear, dan (2) mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan LKPD berbasis mindscaping dalam proses pembelajaran terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kreatif peserta didik kelas X SMA pada materi impuls dan momentum linear.Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan 4-D model yang dilaksanakan dalam 4 tahap, yaitu: Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate. Desain uji produk lapangan adalah randomized control group pretest-posttest design. Data yang diamati adalah respon peserta didik, penilaian LKPD hasil pekerjaan peserta didik, aktivitas peserta didik, dan penilaian mindscaping.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produk LKPD berbasis mindscaping yang diujicobakan pada peserta didik kelas X MIPA 1 (1) layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran berdasarkan penilaian dari dosen fisika dan guru fisika pada aspek penilaian didaktif, konstruksi, dan teknis yang memiliki kategori sangat baik, dengan proses pembelajaran sesuai dengan total waktu yang dibutuhkan, serta respon positif peserta didik terhadap LKPD berbasis mindscaping, dan (2) terdapat pengaruh dalam penggunaan LKPD berbasis mindscaping. Hasil posttest pada t-test menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kreatif masing-masing bernilai sama yaitu 0,000 0,05. Artinya terdapat pengaruh dari penggunaan LKPD berbasis mindscaping dengan LKPD konvensional, serta secara signifikan ketercapaian peserta didik dalam keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kreatif secara rata-rata dalam penggunaan LKPD berbasis mindscaping berdasarkan gain skor mengalami peningkatan sebesar 39,7% dan 41,7%, sedangkan pada LKPD konvensional mengalami peningkatan sebesar 32,1% dan 35,1%. Kata kunci: LKPD, mindscaping, keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kreatif  ABSTRACT           The objectives of this research are: (1) to produce LKPD based on mindscaping product which is feasible to be used in learning process to improve critical thinking and creative skills of grade X of senior high school on impulses and linear momentum, and (2) to know the effect of LKPD based on mindscaping in process learning on improving critical and creative thinking skills grade X of senior  high school students on impulse material and linear momentum. This type of research is a developmental study using 4-D model implemented in 4 stages: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. Product field test design is randomized control group pretest-posttest design. The observed data indicate that LKPD based on mindscaping product tested on the students of  X MIPA 1 class (1) is feasible to be used in the learning process based on the appraisal of physics and physics teacher lecturers on the aspects of active, construction, and technical assessments that have very good categories, with learning process in accordance with the total time required, and positive response of learners to LKPD based on mindscaping, and (2) there is influence in the use of  LKPD based on mindscaping. The posttest result on the t-test shows that critical and creative thinking skills are each valued at 0,000 0,05. This means that there is influence from the use of LKPD based on mindscaping with conventional LKPD, as well as significantly achievement of learners in critical thinking and creative thinking on average in the use of mindset based LKPD based on gain score increased by 39,7% and 41,7%, while in the conventional LKPD increased by 32,1% and 35,1%. Keywords: LKPD, Mindscaping, Critical and Creative Thinking Skills

Abstract

This research aims to determine 1) the feasibility assessment instrument based Quizstar for measuring cognitive abilities of high school students, 2) mastery of the kinetic theory of gases learners. This research was the development of the model 4-D (Four D Models) in the opinion of Thiagarajan consisting of stages define, design, develop, and disseminate.The results of this study are: (1) assessment instrument based Quizstar feasible for measuring cognitive ability of learners to have met the content validity by expert judgment and has gained empirical evidence fit the Rasch models. The itemsdifficulty indexes were between -1.65 and 1.78, which means the items were good. Assessment instruments based Quizstar have had reliability coefficient of 0.73 that included reliable category. Based on the information function, assessment instruments very appropriately used to measure cognitive abilities of learners capable of -2.3 to 1.1. Assessment instruments based Quizstar get CVI value of 1.00 which included a very good category with the reliability of 0.868 which includes a very reliable category. The result analysis of learners questionnaire responses showed in enough, good, and very good categories respectively – were 11%, 52%, and 36%. (2) The ability of learners get less, enough, good, and very good category respectively – were 21%, 44%, 25% 9%.
