Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively analyze the concepts of teaching strategies and methods in Islamic Religious Education (PAI), including the underlying pedagogical principles and the implementation of contemporary methods relevant to students’ needs. The research employs a qualitative library research approach. Data were collected through document studies of books, journal articles, and academic publications, then analyzed using content analysis to examine effective concepts, principles, and methods in PAI. The findings indicate that PAI teaching strategies integrating cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains, while positioning students as active subjects, align with modern educational theories, particularly constructivism and humanism. The application of pedagogical principles such as exemplarity, habituation, participatory learning, and relevance strengthens the internalization of Islamic values and the effectiveness of learning. Furthermore, contemporary methods, including discussions, problem-based learning, project-based learning, and the use of digital technology, enhance motivation, engagement, and material relevance. Despite challenges related to teacher competence and facilities, the integration of classical Islamic pedagogical principles with modern teaching methods makes PAI not only a means of knowledge transfer but also a medium for character building and 21st-century competency development. The study concludes that strengthening teacher capacity, developing adaptive curricula, and providing adequate learning facilities are essential to achieving the holistic goals of Islamic education.

Abstract

The Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model is a learning strategy that aims to improve interaction and collaboration between students. This model consists of three main stages, namely Think (thinking independently), Pair (discussing with a partner), and Share (sharing discussion results with other groups or classes). This study is a literature study that analyzes the application of the TPS model in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning and its advantages and disadvantages. The results of the study indicate that the TPS model can increase student participation, develop critical thinking skills, strengthen cooperation in small groups, and increase student self-confidence. However, this model also faces challenges such as the need for good time management, effective coordination, and the difficulty of implementing it in classes with students who are less active or have limited resources. With proper implementation, the TPS model can be an effective method in improving student understanding of concepts and involvement in the learning process.

Abstract

This study presents a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) based on the PRISMA 2020 protocol to investigate the transformative role of female transformational leadership in improving educational quality within Islamic educational institutions, particularly pesantren (Islamic boarding schools). Unlike previous studies that predominantly examine general leadership models, this review uniquely integrates gender perspectives with the four dimensions of transformational leadership idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration—within the pesantren context. A total of five peer-reviewed articles published between 2018 and 2023 were systematically analyzed. The findings reveal that female leaders demonstrate distinctive transformational behaviors that enhance teacher motivation, professional engagement, and collaborative culture. Idealized influence and inspirational motivation emerge as strong predictors of teacher commitment, whereas intellectual stimulation and individualized consideration significantly contribute to sustained professional growth. The study offers a novel theoretical contribution by positioning female leadership as a catalyst for organizational change in pesantren and provides practical implications for developing leadership training programs that strengthen transformational competencies and institutional support for women leaders in Islamic education. These insights underscore the importance of empowering female leadership to cultivate an inclusive, trust-based, and progressive educational environment.

Abstract

Optimally enhancing student potential requires planned and systematic classroom management. At MTs Negeri 1 Bandar Lampung, there is a challenge to integrate superior class management to be able to boost student achievement comprehensively, both in terms of intellectual and character. This study aims to describe the superior class management strategy in improving academic and non-academic achievement of students at MTs Negeri 1 Bandar Lampung. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through interview techniques, observation, and documentation. Research informants included the principal, vice principal, teachers, and students to gain a comprehensive perspective. The research findings indicate that superior class management is implemented through four main stages: (1) planning a directed learning program, (2) organizing resources according to competencies, (3) implementing innovative learning, and (4) controlling through continuous evaluation and supervision. This implementation has been proven to have a positive impact on improving learning outcomes and competitive achievements (academic), as well as strengthening discipline, self-confidence, and developing student talents and interests (non-academic). This study provides a practical contribution to educational institution managers regarding the importance of systematic special class management as a model for improving graduate quality. In addition, this study strengthens the theory of educational management regarding the effectiveness of organizing resources in the school environment.
