Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of the artistic supervision model on enhancing teaching creativity and innovation in primary schools within the Toho District, Mempawah Regency. The background of this research stems from the low level of teaching creativity observed in the region, which negatively affects student participation and motivation. Using a quasi-experimental design, this study involved 40 teachers divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group received artistic supervision, while the control group received traditional supervision. Data were collected using pre-test and post-test measures, assessing teaching creativity with the Torrance Test of Creative Thinking (TTCT). The results revealed a significant increase in creativity scores in the experimental group, with a t-statistic of -16.47 and a p-value of 7.95e-05, demonstrating that artistic supervision significantly enhances teaching creativity. In contrast, the control group showed only a modest improvement. This research provides empirical evidence supporting the effectiveness of artistic supervision in fostering creative and innovative teaching approaches, particularly in rural areas. The findings suggest the need for targeted teacher training and increased resources to support creative education methods.

Abstract

This study explores the role of collaborative academic supervision in optimizing teacher performance within the framework of the Independent Curriculum. The Independent Curriculum, implemented in Indonesia, emphasizes student-centered learning and encourages teachers to adopt innovative teaching strategies. However, effective implementation requires a supportive environment, where academic supervision plays a crucial role. This research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing interviews and focus group discussions with educators and school administrators from various educational institutions. The findings reveal that collaborative academic supervision fosters a culture of shared responsibility among teachers, enhancing their professional development and instructional practices. Participants reported that engaging in collaborative supervision activities, such as peer observations and joint lesson planning, significantly improved their teaching efficacy and motivation. Furthermore, the study highlights the importance of building strong relationships among educators, as trust and open communication are essential for effective collaboration. The research also identifies challenges, including time constraints and varying levels of commitment among teachers, which can hinder the effectiveness of collaborative supervision. Based on these findings, the study recommends that schools prioritize collaborative academic supervision by providing structured training and allocating time for teachers to engage in these activities. This approach not only improves teacher performance but also contributes to a more dynamic and responsive learning environment for students. Overall, this research underscores the significance of collaborative academic supervision as a strategy to optimize teacher performance and enhance the quality of education within the Independent Curriculum framework.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' multiple representation ability on hydrocarbon which includes macroscopic, submicroscopic, and symbolic representations. The research subjects were Chemistry Education Study Program students of FKIP Tanjungpura University class of 2022 and 2023 who had taken the Organic Chemistry of Monofunctional Compounds course, totaling 108 people. The research used a quantitative descriptive method with an instrument in the form of a description test of 9 questions, each of which represented three levels of representation. The results showed that students' macroscopic representation ability was classified as good with an average of 68.30% (batch 2023) and 64.86% (batch 2022). The submicroscopic representation ability is classified as good, with an average of 70.26% (batch 2023) and 69.59% (batch 2022). Meanwhile, the symbolic ability of the 2023 batch students was classified as sufficient with an average of 53.43%, and the 2022 batch was classified as good with an average of 67.10%.
