Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop and test the feasibility of materials and media, as well as to observe teachers' responses to e-learning modules on atomic structure based on the independent curriculum. This study uses the Research and Development method with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. However, the development process is limited to the development stage with the aim of producing e-learning modules that are theoretically feasible based on expert assessment and user response, without empirically testing the effectiveness of the product. The module that has been developed is tested for feasibility by each of the 2 media experts and material experts to determine whether the module is suitable for use. In addition to the feasibility assessment, a response test to the product was also carried out involving 2 teachers from driving schools in Pontianak city. The results of the analysis in the material test were 88%, the media test was 84%, and the teacher response questionnaire to the teaching module was 96%. So it can be concluded that the teaching e-module on atomic structure material based on the independent curriculum developed is feasible to use as a learning tool because it has passed the feasibility assessment by material and media experts and received a very good response from chemistry learning teachers because it has passed the response test. The uniqueness of this research lies in the development of an e-learning module that systematically maps Learning Outcomes (CP) into Learning Objectives (TP) and Learning Objective Sequences (ATP), and is designed in an interactive digital format to overcome teachers' difficulties in planning lessons under the Merdeka Curriculum. Researchers suggest continuing this research at the next stage, namely implementation and evaluation to see the effectiveness of the teaching modules produced because the teaching modules can also be used by teachers in learning chemistry so as to make it easier for teachers to have teaching module references that are more flexible and can be accessed at any time.

Abstract

The use of technology-based learning media is still rarely applied by chemistry teachers in schools, teachers tend to use conventional methods such as lectures and assignments, so that student learning outcomes are still low, one of the learning media that can be applied is Articulate Storyline 3. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of using Articulate Storyline 3-based learning media on the material of Nomenclature of Inorganic Compounds. The method used is Quasi Experimental Nonequivalent Control Group Design. With a sample of class XI-F5 as the experimental class and XI-F4 as the control class, each with 32 students. The results of the normality test showed that some of the data were not normally distributed, and the homogeneity test showed that the posttest variance was not homogeneous (Sig. = 0.040 <0.05), so the Mann-Whitney U test was used, the test results showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores in the experimental class with a value of (0.001 <0.05). Then the effect size value was obtained at 0.915 with a large category. Thus, the use of learning media based on Articulate Storyline 3 is more effective in improving students' learning outcomes in the material on nomenclature of inorganic compounds.

Abstract

Physics learning at the junior secondary school level on the topics of Uniform Linear Motion and Uniformly Accelerated Linear Motion often shows low conceptual understanding due to limited use of contextual and visual instructional media. This study aims to develop and examine the effectiveness of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) instructional videos in improving students’ conceptual understanding. The research employed a Research and Development approach using the ADDIE model and adopted a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest involving 36 students as trial subjects. The instruments included expert validation sheets, conceptual understanding tests, and student response questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, paired-sample t-tests, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that the instructional video product was categorized as highly feasible based on expert validation and student responses (89.7%). The students’ mean scores increased from 57.97 to 69.44, with a reduction in variance and standard deviation, indicating a more even distribution of conceptual understanding. The normality test confirmed that the data were normally distributed, and the paired-sample t-test revealed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p < 0.001). The N-Gain value of 0.27 was in the low–moderate category, indicating initial effectiveness. Therefore, the developed PBL instructional videos indicate initial effectiveness in enhancing students’ conceptual understanding and can be considered a feasible instructional innovation for junior secondary school physics learning.
