Abstract

This service activity aims to improve women's life skills in processing the potential of the village, namely watermelon into an agribusiness product that has a high economic selling value. The method of implementing this service uses training with target partners, namely housewives, and women of productive age in Gapura village, Central Lombok Regency, NTB. The results of this service show that this activity could improve the ability and skills of the people of Gapura Village to process watermelon into products with more selling value, namely watermelon peel and jelly candy. In addition, this activity could increase the knowledge of Gapura Village women to process agricultural products based on agribusiness. Based on the results of the evaluation, most of the partners responded that this training was very useful in improving life skills by obtaining a percentage of 55%.

Abstract

This study examines the politicization of aid in the 2024 Legislative Election in Banda Aceh through the lens of patron-client theory, exploring how candidates or political parties use material aid to secure electoral support. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through interviews with voters in Banda Aceh and a review of relevant literature. The findings reveal that material aid often functions as a transactional tool, with voters expected to reciprocate by voting for the candidates providing assistance. This reciprocal expectation significantly influences voter behavior, as many prioritize immediate material benefits over ideological or programmatic considerations. However, not all voters adhere to this transactional dynamic; some evaluate candidates based on their political qualities and programs, regardless of aid. Perceptions of candidates who abstain from providing aid vary—some voters see the absence of aid as a disadvantage, while others value the candidates' vision and integrity over material offerings. The study concludes that while aid politicization impacts electoral outcomes, maintaining voter trust and loyalty depends on candidates' fulfillment of political promises and long-term commitment. Balancing short-term aid strategies with genuine political accountability is essential for sustaining trust and upholding the integrity of the political system.

Abstract

Hydroponic farming has emerged as an effective alternative to overcome land limitations, especially in urban and compact residential areas. Focusing on two Madrasah Aliyah in East Lombok, the Community Service Program by the Biology Education Department of Universitas Hamzanwadi implemented hydroponic techniques as an innovative farming method. This initiative aimed to enhance environmental awareness and farming skills among students, while utilizing styrofoam waste as a planting medium. The process included socialization, seedling production, planting, maintenance, and harvesting, using plants such as water spinach, lettuce, and spinach. The implementation method incorporated Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), enabling active participation from students and teachers. The program was conducted from March to November 2023 at MA NWDI Juet and MA Ridlol Walidain NW Batu Bangka - Jenggik. The mentoring process involved various stages, from introducing hydroponic techniques to creating planting media and planting, including the use of AB Mix nutrients and rockwool as planting media. The results of the activity showed successful cultivation of hydroponic water spinach, while lettuce and spinach experienced crop failure. The primary causes of this failure were inadequate care, light, and temperature. Nevertheless, the activity successfully educated students on the importance of hydroponic agriculture and creative waste utilization, providing new insights into urban farming. In conclusion, the hydroponic approach can be an efficient solution for cultivating plants in limited spaces, offering educational and environmental benefits. This program also highlighted the potential of styrofoam waste as a hydroponic planting medium, underscoring the importance of waste utilization for environmental sustainability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of the Distance Learning System (DLS) for students at Vocational School in Banda Aceh during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods, with the population of all XII graders from the Software Engineering Department (SED), while the sample is the XII SED 1 class students, totaling 27 students. The instruments of this research are interview questionnaires conducted to 10 teachers of productive subjects and questionnaires distributed to 27 students of class XII SED 1 online using Google Forms. The results showed that many teachers said that the DLS System was not effectively applied in vocational schools, as well as the results of the student response questionnaire that there were many shortcomings in the implementation of DLS. Furthermore, the researchers suggested that the blended learning method be applied to Vocational School

Abstract

The Shī’ī eschatological doctrine encompasses the belief in the Imām Mahdī, or the Hidden Imām, who will reemerge at the end of time as a savior. This savior is anticipated to establish socio-political justice and equity, leading to a peaceful life grounded in Islamic teachings. In essence, the Imām Mahdī is believed to bring about an ideal religious society.

Abstract

This study critically examines the concept of the Islamic paradigm proposed by Kuntowijoyo, a prominent Indonesian scholar and cultural figure. Kuntowijoyo introduced the Islamic paradigm as an alternative approach to understanding and practicing Islam in the contemporary era, focusing on transformative thinking and social reconstruction. This study highlights the key elements of this paradigm, such as the concepts of historicism, prophetic ethics, and humanization, as well as their implications for Islamic thought and practice in Indonesia. Using textual analysis and a hermeneutic approach, this research evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of Kuntowijoyo's Islamic paradigm, including its relevance in addressing the challenges of modernity and globalization. The findings of this review are expected to contribute to the development of a more dynamic and contextual Islamic discourse in the future.

Abstract

Ikan nila merupakan ikan yang hidup di air tawar, mudah dikembangbiakkan dan toleransinya tinggi terhadap perubahan lingkungan. Namun apabila lingkungan perairan mengalami penurunan kualitas akibat adanya pencemaran limbah baik organik maupun anorganik, maka organisme patogen seperti bakteri akan mudah berkembangbiak dan menyebabkan penyakit pada ikan. Phaleria macrocarpa adalah satu dari bahan antibiotik alami yang dapat digunakan untuk mengobati penyakit pada ikan. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada janurai 2016 di laboratorium hatchery dan teknologi akuakultur programstudi Budidaya Perairan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Malikussaleh. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui toksisitas P. Macrocarpa terhadap benih ikan Nila (Oreochromis niloticus). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LC50 96 jam P. macrocarpa adalah 186.64 mg/l dan konsentrasi aman untuk benih ikan Nila adalah 18.664 mg/l.Tilapia is fresh water fish that easy to culture and tolerant to environmental change. But if the water quality decreased because organic and anorganic waste, pathogen organism easy to growth like bacteria and make disease to the fish. Phaleria macrocarpa is one of herbal antibiotic that can use for treat fish disease. This research was conducted on January 2016 held at the Laboratory of Hatchery and Aquaculture Technology Aquaculture departement, Agriculture Faculty Malikussaleh University. The purpose of this study was to determine the P. macrocarpa toxcicity to tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). This research used experimental method namely a completely randomized design (CRD) non factorial with five treatments within three replications. The results showed that the P. macrocarpa gave different and changes in clinical symptoms on fish for 4 days. The concentration of P. macrocarpa showing LC50 186.64 mg/l for 96 hours and safe concentration of the P. macrocarpa for tilapia is 18.664 mg/l.

Abstract

Penyakit adalah salah satu penghambat dalam mengembangkan produksi ikan nila. Satu dari bakteri yang berbahaya dalam budidaya ikan nila adalah Edwardsiella tarda. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada januari 2016 di laboratorium hatchery dan teknologi akuakultur, Prodi Budidaya Perairan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Malikussaleh. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas serbuk Phaleria macrocarpa untuk mencegah infeksi bakteri Edwardsiella tarda. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimental Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) non faktorial dengan 5 perlakuan 3 ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa serbuk P. macrocarpa dapat menghambat pertumbuhan Edwardsiella tarda karena mengandung bahan antimikroba dengan diameter zona hambat 9,5 - 14,5 mm.Disease is one of the obstacles in achieving tilapia production targets. One of harmful bacteria types in tilapia fish farming is Edwardsiella tarda. This research was conducted on January 2016 held at the Laboratory of Hatchery and Aquaculture Technology, Aquaculture departement Agriculture Faculty Malikussaleh University. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectivenes Phaleria macrocarpa powder to prevent infection of bacteria Edwardsiella tarda. This research used experimental method, namely a completely randomized design (CRD) non factorial with five treatments within three replications. The results showed that the P. macrocarpa powder could inhibiting the growth of Edwardsiella tarda because it contained antimicrobial compounds with a clear zone formed 9.5-14, 5 mm.

Abstract

Implementation of Project Based Learning To Improve Creative Thinking Skills Throuh Lesson Study. Objective : This study aims to improve students' creative thinking skills by applying project-based learning through lesson study. Method: This research uses classroom action research through lesson study with three open classes with a total of 16 subjects of departement  biology education, Universitas Hamzanwadi  . The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Findings: Student activity scores during the learning process from the first, second and third open classes were 73.62%, 80.09% and 84.72% there was an average increase in activity of 5.56%. Data on students' creative thinking ability were obtained successively by 75%, 81.25% and 93.75%, there was an average increase of 9.38%. Abstract

ABSTRAKTelah dirancang sebuah alat ukur tinggi dan berat badan bayi. Rangkaian elektronik alat ukur terdiri dari catudaya, mikrokontroler dan LCD, penguat non-inverting dan fototransistor. Sebuah lempengpersegi panjang yang terbuat dari material triplek yang ringan panjangnya 90 cm digunakan untuk membaringkan bayi. Tinggi bayi diukur menggunakan sebuah sistem sensor yang terdiri dari sebuah LED dan sebuah fototransistor dengan cara menggeser LED untuk menyesuaikan tinggi  bayi. Berat bayi diukur dengan menggunakan sistem sensor lainnya yang terdiri dari sebuah pegas, sebuah LED, dan sebuah fototransistor. Ketika bayi berada di atas lempeng, pegas bergerak turun dan menyebabkan jarak antara LED dan fototransistor berkurang. Hasil yang diperoleh alat ini memiliki ketepatan 98,15% (untuk pengukuran tinggi badan) dan 95,59% (untuk pengukuran berat badan). Kata kunci : tinggi bayi, berat bayi, fototransistor, ATmega8535.AbstractA measuring instrument of height and weight for babies has been designed. The electronic circuits of this instrument consist of power supplyt, microcontroller and LCD, non inverting amplifier and phototransistor. A rectangular plate madea lightweight plywood with the length of 90 cm is used to lay down the baby. The heigtht of the baby is measured using a sensor system consist of a LED and a phototransistor by shifting the LED adjusted to the height of the baby. The weight of the baby is measured using another sensor system consist of a spring, a LED, and a phototransistor. When the baby is on the plate, the spring moving down and causes the distance between LED andphototransistor decrease. Result obtained this instrument has accuracy of 98.15% (for height measurentment) and of 95.59% (for weight measurentment). Keywords : babies height, babies weight, phototransistor, ATmega8535.
