Abstract

Medical equipment procurement constitutes a strategic element in improving service quality, yet its implementation at MABA District General Hospital in East Halmahera Regency still confronts substantial structural and technical challenges. This study analyzes medical equipment procurement strategy based on the ASPAK (Application of Facilities, Infrastructure, and Medical Equipment) system across five focal areas: input components, data availability and accessibility in planning, procurement process implementation, training processes related to equipment utilization, and output effectiveness. Employing descriptive qualitative methodology through in-depth interviews with 15 key informants, observations, focus group discussions, and document analysis, the study reveals critical deficiencies: at the input level, absence of comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures for needs assessment, limited Human Resources capacity, and inadequate supporting infrastructure including unstable internet connectivity and insufficient room readiness crucial for ASPAK operations; at the process level, planning not fully based on ASPAK-driven gap analysis resulting in inaccurate prioritization and mismatches between equipment specifications and clinical needs, with acceptance procedures encountering technical verification barriers; at the output level, suboptimal utilization of procured devices due to unprepared facilities, uneven operator competency, and absence of structured post-procurement monitoring and evaluation mechanisms. Synthesis of findings demonstrates that ASPAK effectiveness depends critically on strengthening internal regulations, enhancing human resource capacity, ensuring infrastructural readiness, and implementing systematic monitoring-evaluation frameworks to optimize medical equipment procurement in island region hospitals.

Abstract

Instagram has emerged as a crucial communication platform for hospitals to disseminate information and build community engagement. This study analyzes the influence of Instagram on patient visits, with brand awareness serving as a mediating variable at Aqidah Hospital in Tangerang City. The research employed a mixed methods approach with an explanatory sequential design. The quantitative phase involved 70 respondents, while the qualitative phase consisted of six informants engaged in social media management and hospital services. Results reveal that Instagram significantly influences brand awareness (p < 0.001) with R² = 0.750, indicating that 75% of brand awareness variance is explained by Instagram usage. Instagram also demonstrates a significant direct effect on patient visits (p < 0.001). Brand awareness significantly affects patient visits and mediates the relationship between Instagram and patient visits with an indirect effect of 0.319 (95% CI [0.177-0.493]). Qualitative findings reinforce quantitative results, indicating that Aqidah Hospital's Instagram content including health education, service information, facility visuals, and consistent branding enhances public recognition and encourages visiting intentions. This study underscores that Instagram functions not only as a promotional tool but also plays a pivotal role in shaping brand awareness, ultimately contributing to increased patient visits at Aqidah Hospital.

Abstract

Patient safety is a fundamental principle in healthcare services and a global challenge. This study analyzes the implementation of a patient safety culture at BIMC HospitalKuta. Using a mixed-methods approach with a sequential exploratory design, qualitative data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations of the nursing director, safety officer, head nurse, and implementing nurses. Qualitative analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, followed by quantitative research using the HSOPSC questionnaire which was analyzed descriptively. Qualitative findings indicate that the patient safety culture in this hospital has been integrated into the staff's work habits, despite challenges such as fear of sanctions when reporting incidents and technical issues with the electronic reporting system. On the other hand, the quantitative results show a positive perception, with a Mean of 4.602 and a Median of 5.000 for positive statements, as well as a Mean of 1.347 with a Median of 1.000 for negative statements, indicating that respondents do not perceive any obstacles in the implementation of the patient safety culture. The difference in results between qualitative and quantitative research is caused by differing individual and public perceptions. The implementation of a safety culture in this hospital is influenced by nursing leadership and management support, with an effective incident reporting system through the MedBlaze platform that prioritizes the principles of just culture.

Abstract

Profitability is an important indicator of the success and sustainability of businesses in the pharmaceutical sector, including Apotek K-24 Geliting Maumere, which operates in a competitive and dynamic business environment. Efforts to increase profitability are inseparable from the role of effective operational management and targeted marketing strategies. However, the extent to which these two factors influence profitability still requires empirical evidence. Given this background, this study uses a quantitative, survey-based approach. The sampling technique used is saturated sampling, so that all 30 employees are used as research samples. Data were obtained through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of statistical software. Hypothesis testing was carried out using a t-test to see the partial effect and an F-test to see the simultaneous effect. The results of the study indicate that operational management has a significant influence on profitability, with a calculated t-value of 1.932 and a significance value of 0.004 (p < 0.05). Marketing strategy was also proven to have a significant influence on profitability, with a calculated t-value of 2.868 and a significance value of 0.008 (p < 0.05). Furthermore, the results of the F test show a calculated F value of 9.038 with a significance of 0.001, so it can be concluded that operational management and marketing strategy simultaneously have a significant effect on the profitability of Apotek K-24 Geliting Maumere.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of marketing strategy, service quality, and consumer trust on the decision to use medical on-call services, with consumer perception positioned as a mediating variable. Employing an explanatory sequential mixed methods design, the quantitative phase involved 95 users surveyed through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression and mediation testing. The qualitative phase consisted of in-depth interviews with five informants to contextualize statistical findings and explore users’ evaluative mechanisms. The results show that marketing strategy and service quality have a positive and significant effect on service-use decisions, whereas trust does not exert a direct influence. Consumer perception emerged as the only variable with a strong direct effect on decision-making and mediates the effects of marketing strategy and service quality partially, while fully mediating the effect of trust. Qualitative themes reinforce these findings by revealing that users’ decisions are shaped by clarity of information, responsiveness, medical competence, perceived safety, and the relevance of services to personal needs. The study concludes that perception functions as the core cognitive–affective mechanism linking external stimuli to behavioral decisions in digital healthcare services. Managerial implications highlight the importance of perception-based service design, consistent communication, data security, and improved clinical interaction quality.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of service strategic management at Posbindu PTM As-Syifa I in Gerem Village, Banten Province, focusing on service quality, monitoring and evaluation systems, and the role of human resources and stakeholders. Using descriptive qualitative methods through in-depth interviews, observations, and document studies. Results show service quality is quite good with active cadre support and basic screening tools. However, limited infrastructure, absence of permanent facilities, and participant fluctuations remain obstacles. Monitoring and evaluation are conducted through primary health center supervision but lack structured internal evaluation mechanisms. Abstract

Employee productivity is a vital element for achieving optimal organizational performance, particularly in the healthcare sector, which demands excellent patient care. Muhammadiyah Tuban Hospital (RSMT) faces several productivity challenges, evident in ongoing complaints about the competence and behavior of healthcare workers, the ineffective implementation of incentive programs, and inadequate workloads. These internal challenges are reinforced by survey results indicating suboptimal employee job satisfaction and a Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) of 2024 that remains below operational standards. Performance evaluations also reveal that a number of staff, both medical and non-medical, have not met expectations in key aspects such as satisfaction, loyalty, and work behavior. Previous research consistently demonstrates that compensation, discipline, career progression, and the work environment are important factors influencing performance. Compensation enhances motivation and retention; discipline reflects organizational ethics; career progression encourages work continuity; and the work environment supports task effectiveness. However, the specific influence of these four factors on staff productivity at RSMT has never been comprehensively studied. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the influence of compensation, discipline, career path, and work environment on employee productivity at RSMT. The analysis results show that the influence of these variables varies. Only discipline and career path significantly influence productivity. Meanwhile, recovery and work environment variables do not have a significant impact. These findings are expected to provide key input for hospital HR management policies to improve service quality, strengthen institutional performance, and balance ongoing technological developments.
