Abstract

The independent learning curriculum issued by the Ministry of Education and Culture has brought changes to the national education system. At the beginning of the policy or termed the first period, there were four policies that started it, namely the elimination of the national exam and replacing it with a minimum competency assessment and a character survey with literacy and anumeration. The national school-based exam (USBN) was replaced with a school exam held by each school. Simplification of the Lesson Implementation Plan (RPP) with the aim of reducing the teacher's administrative burden. The RPP made by the teacher only includes 3 components, namely learning objectives, learning activities and evaluation. The zoning system is enforced, the zoning pathway PPDB can accept a minimum of 50 percent students, the affirmation pathway at least 15 percent, and the displacement pathway a maximum of 5 percent. The independent learning curriculum as a new paradigm in education is oriented towards the profile of Pancasila students who are the target in directing the implementation and assessment of policies. Although there are many criticisms of the Free Learning policy, there are also many educational practitioners who say the realization of the independent learning curriculum is be a breath of fresh air for teachers and students who want changes to the learning system that are emancipatory in nature and develop student competencies, especially in the context of the globalization era and the industrial revolution era 4.0 towards society 5.0

Abstract

The mentoring initiative for the Implementation of the Anti-Corruption Culture School at SMKN 1 Baso represents a strategic intervention aimed at strengthening the integrity zone within the educational environment. The program holds substantial urgency, functioning as an early preventive effort against potential corruption by embedding integrity values across all levels of the school community. The initiative was conducted in collaboration with the Association of Vocational School Principals (MKKS) of Agam Regency, with SMKN 1 Baso designated as the pilot institution. The mentoring activities encompassed enhancing anti-corruption literacy among teachers, education personnel, and students; facilitating the development of institutional policies and anti-corruption standard operating procedures (SOPs); and reinforcing an integrity-driven learning ecosystem. The program was carried out over an eight-month period using a Participatory Action Research framework, progressing through seven structured stages including socialization, capacity-building workshops, implementation assistance, and the establishment of supporting integrity infrastructures. The results indicate that the school successfully formulated and enacted anti-corruption SOPs, produced student-led integrity projects, established a ZI Corner and an Integrity Tree, and strengthened collective commitment toward transparency and accountability. These outcomes suggest a measurable increase in integrity awareness and the gradual institutionalization of integrity practices as part of the school’s cultural identity.

Abstract

This study explores the influence of principal leadership and the availability of facilities and infrastructure on teacher performance in MTS Negeri Padang Lawas Regency. Using a quantitative correlational approach, the research examines how principal leadership and resources contribute to enhancing teacher performance. Data were collected through a questionnaire administered to 56 teachers, with results analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, homogeneity tests, multicollinearity tests, and linearity tests. The findings reveal that principal leadership accounts for 18% of teacher performance variation, while the availability of facilities and infrastructure contributes 22.2%. Together, these two factors explain 37.8% of the variation in teacher performance. The study emphasizes the importance of improving both leadership skills and educational resources to enhance teaching effectiveness. These results suggest that investment in leadership development and school infrastructure should be prioritized to achieve better educational outcomes.

The approach employed was a quantitative descriptive design with an ex post facto approach and a correlational study. The study population was 254 civil servant teachers, and 102 teachers were sampled using stratified proportional random sampling. The research instrument was a closed-ended questionnaire using a Likert scale. The analysis revealed that academic supervision contributed 5.4%, school climate contributed 19.3%, and the combined effect of both factors contributed 21.5% to teacher commitment. This indicates that academic supervision and school climate have a substantial impact on teacher commitment. This study emphasizes the importance of optimizing the principal's role in implementing academic supervision and creating a conducive school climate to enhance the quality of basic education through teacher commitment.

Instrument development refers to two indicators, namely moral character and work character. The instrument was validated by experts and through validity and reliability testing. The results testing showed that validity and reliability with the respective rho count 0.927> rho table 0.648 and r results in 0.907> r table 0.514. Data analysis used simple statistics to determine the respondent's level of achievement level (RAL) from the readiness of male and female students' moral and work characteristics. The results showed that the achievement level of job readiness of vocational high school students in Padang city had reached 85.5%.
