Abstract

This research is a quasi-experiment which aims to investigate the effect of the Discovery Learning Model supported by Powtoon Media and Word-wall Game on the interest and learning outcomes of class XI MIPA SMAN 9 Makassar students in learning chemical bonds. The independent variable is the use of the Discovery Learning Model with Powtoon and Word-wall Game media, while the dependent variable is student interest and learning outcomes. The research population consisted of students from class XI MIPA SMAN 9 Makassar, with a sample consisting of class XI MIPA 1 as the experimental group and class XI MIPA 2 as the control group. Data analysis uses descriptive and inferential statistics. The results show that the average learning interest and learning outcomes of the experimental group are significantly higher than the control group. Hypothesis testing using the Mann Whitney test confirmed significant differences between the two groups in learning interest and learning outcomes. These findings show that the Discovery Learning Model supported by Powtoon Media and Word-wall Game has a positive influence on the interest and learning outcomes of class XI MIPA students at SMAN 9 Makassar in chemical bonding material.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the length distribution and sex ratio of bullet tuna (Auxis rochei) landed at Ternate Archipelago Fishing Port Ternate (PPN Ternate). Sampling was conducted in June and July 2024 with 100 fish per month. Observations included total length measurements and sex identification to determine size distribution patterns and sex composition. The results showed that male fish in June had the highest frequency at class interval of 190-201 mm, and in July it shifted to class interval 226-237 mm. Meanwhile, female fish in June were dominant in the class interval of 201-210 mm, and in July increased to the class interval of 231-230 mm. The sex ratio in June was 1:1.22 (male:female), while in July it was 1:0.82. The results of the chi-square test showed that the difference in sex ratio was not statistically significant (p > 0,05), so the population was considered to have a balanced sex composition. This finding is in line with several previous studies in the Indonesian region that showed variations in size structure and sex ratio of Auxis rochei influenced by seasonality, reproductive migration, and fishing activity. This study provides important basic information to support sustainable management of bullet tuna (Auxis rochei) resources in North Maluku waters.

Abstract

Limbah tahu cair merupakan salah satu sumber pencemaran lingkungan jika tidak dikelola dengan baik. Oleh karena itu, program Kuliah Kerja Nyata Pengabdian Masyarakat (KKN PMD) Universitas Mataram Desa Puyung mengadakan sosialisasi dan pelatihan pembuatan pupuk organik cair dari limbah tahu cair sebagai solusi inovatif dalam pengelolaan sampah. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya pengolahan sampah dan memberikan keterampilan dalam memanfaatkan limbah tahu menjadi produk yang memiliki utilitas bagi sektor pertanian. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini antara lain sosialisasi dan demonstrasi pembuatan pupuk organik cair. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat Desa Puyung sangat antusias mengikuti pelatihan dan memahami proses pembuatan pupuk organik cair. Program ini diharapkan dapat menjadi langkah awal dalam menciptakan sistem pertanian yang lebih ramah lingkungan dan berkelanjutan, serta mendukung konsep Zero Waste dalam pengelolaan limbah industri domestik dan kecil.

Abstract

Development of Village economic has been entering a new era through the involvement of Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes), which can be an important part of the development. All this year, the measurement of BUMDes performance has only been assessed by the financial aspect and tends to ignore the non-financial aspects. It is not enough for management to adopt dynamic changes in the business environment. The purpose of this research was to analyze the performance of the BUMDes of Panggung Lestari from financial and non-financial aspects. The method of this research was using performance measurement with a Balanced Scorecard (BSC) approach. The results showed that the total performance of BUMDes Panggung Lestari was 84.78 percent, considered to be in very healthy category (AA). Although the performance of BUMDes Panggung Lestari was very healthy, the improvements in its performance are needed, especially in the perspective of the internal business process that has not optimal performance.

Abstract

AbstractClay soils are widely recognized for their poor engineering characteristics, particularly their low bearing capacity and high shrink-swell potential. These limitations make them unsuitable for use as foundation material in road construction and other geotechnical applications. This study aims to evaluate the potential of plastic waste chipping as an additive to improve the geotechnical properties of clay soil. The research was conducted using the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) method to assess bearing capacity. The experimental program involved mixing clay soil—sourced from Blang Pala Village, North Aceh—with varying contents of plastic waste chips (1%, 1.5%, and 2%) and different chip sizes (0.5×0.5 cm, 0.75×0.75 cm, and 1×1 cm). A series of laboratory tests were conducted, including specific gravity, Atterberg limits, standard proctor compaction, and CBR tests in both unsoaked and soaked conditions. The results revealed that the addition of plastic waste chips consistently improved the CBR values, with the most significant enhancement observed at 2% plastic content and 1×1 cm chip size. The unsoaked and soaked CBR values increased from 6.8% to 8.1% and from 3.8% to 5.9%, respectively. These findings suggest that plastic waste chips offers a promising, sustainable construction method for enhancing the performance of clay soils while contributing to plastic waste management.AbstrakTanah lempung dikenal secara luas karena memiliki sifat-sifat teknik yang kurang baik, terutama daya dukungnya yang rendah dan potensi kembang susut yang tinggi. Keterbatasan ini menjadikan tanah lempung tidak sesuai untuk digunakan sebagai bahan dasar pondasi dalam pembangunan jalan dan aplikasi geoteknik lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi potensi cacahan limbah plastik sebagai bahan tambahan guna meningkatkan sifat geoteknik tanah lempung. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode California Bearing Ratio (CBR) untuk menghitung daya dukung tanah. Penelitian ini dimulai dari pencampuran tanah lempung yang bersumber dari Desa Blang Pala, Aceh Utara dengan variasi jumlah cacahan limbah plastik (1%, 1,5%, dan 2%) dan ukuran cacahan yang berbeda (0,5×0,5 cm, 0,75×0,75 cm, dan 1×1 cm). Serangkaian uji laboratorium yang dilakukan meliputi berat jenis, batas Atterberg, uji proctor standar, dan uji CBR dalam kondisi tidak direndam dan direndam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan cacahan limbah plastik secara konsisten meningkatkan nilai CBR, dengan peningkatan paling signifikan pada kandungan plastik 2% dan ukuran cacahan 1×1 cm. Nilai CBR tidak direndam meningkat dari 6,8% menjadi 8,1% dan nilai CBR direndam meningkat dari 3,8% menjadi 5,9%. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa cacahan limbah plastik merupakan metode yang menjanjikan untuk konstruksi berkelanjutan untuk meningkatkan kinerja tanah lempung sekaligus turut berkontribusi dalam pengelolaan limbah plastik.

Abstract

Foreign language teaching is a medium to raise students’ inter-cultural understanding, awareness, and sensitivity important for establishing tolerant mindset in multi-ethnic community. However, the use of literary works in foreign language teaching, for example TESOL, which could elevate intercultural competence since they promote respect and appreciation, is almost unexplored. This paper examined to which extent the values of moderation are presented during the teaching of literature and explicated in the curriculum, as well as the course outline of literary courses in three participating Indonesian Islamic Universities. This case study research collected data through a semi-structured interview with three lecturers English Literature Department, Walian University (pseudonym) administered under Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs and were analysed through critical exploratory lens. The results demonstrate that lecturers face complex issues regarding the incorporation and promotion of moderation values during the teaching of literature. Yet, the curriculum, on the other hand, has not embedded those values but are manifested in the teaching and learning process from the selection of teaching materials or learning activities. The lecturers remain the main actors in uplifting the introduction of moderate attitude during the teaching of literature.

Abstract

Abstrak Material semen adalah yang paling umum digunakan sebagai stabilisator untuk meningkatkan sifat-sifat Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks (CSEB). Faktor yang mengatur yang mengendalikan sifat-sifat CSEB termasuk jumlah kandungan lanau dan lempung di dalam tanah. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada pengendalian kandungan lanau dan lempung dan perbaikan gradasi dengan penggunaan limbah konstruksi (beton yang dihancurkan) dan pasir sungai. Tanah yang dipilih dimodifikasi garadasinya dengan menambahkan limbah konstruksi dan pasir mengikuti teori konsep particle packing pada kurva gradasi Fuller dengan kandungan lanau + lempung kondisi asli dan sebanyak 20%. Semen digunakan dengan kadar 6%, 8%, dan 10%. Benda uji kubus 15 × 15 × 15 cm3 dicetak dan diuji kepadatan, penyerapan air, dan kuat tekan 28 hari. Hasil dari penelitian terlihat bahwa bata CSEB yang diperbaiki gradasi tanahnya ini masuk pada mutu Kelas C dan kelas B menurut WD-ARS 1333:2018(E) Bagian 7. Bata CSEB dengan campuran limbah konstruksi ini memberikan solusi mengurangi limbah konstruksi. Kata kunci: CSEB, limbah konstruksi, lanau dan lempung, particle packing, kuat tekan.  Abstract Cement is the most used material as a stabilizer to improve the properties of Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks (CSEB). The controlling factors that control the properties of CSEB include the amount of silt and clay content in the soil. This study focused on controlling silt and clay content and improving gradation by using construction waste (crushed concrete) and river sand. The selected soil was modified in its gradation by adding construction waste and sand following the particle packing concept theory on the Fuller gradation curve with the original silt + clay content and as much as 20%. Cement was used with levels of 6%, 8%, and 10%. Cube test specimens measuring 15 × 15 × 15 cm3 were moulded and tested for density, water absorption, and 28-day compressive strength. The results of the study showed that the CSEB bricks with improved soil gradation were in Class C and Class B quality according to WD-ARS 1333:2018(E) Part 7. CSEB bricks with a mixture of construction waste provide a solution to reduce construction waste. Keywords: CSEB, construction waste, silt and clay, particle packing, compressive strength

Abstract

Vocational education management in delivering Indonesian human resources, especially the younger generation, to be able to appear as actors of development, and take part in the international arena. Vocational education has a crucial role in producing human resources (HR) who are ready to face the challenges and opportunities of Industry 4.0. However, there is still a significant gap between the output of vocational education and the real needs of the industrial world, often referred to as the "link and match" problem. This study aims to analyze how vocational education management needs to be transformed to strengthen the link and match with the needs of Industry 4.0. This study uses a qualitative approach. This qualitative approach, to conduct research related to the transformation of vocational education management and its research method using literature review. Data were collected from various relevant scientific literature sources, including national journals, seminar proceedings, books, and research reports that focus on vocational education, education management, Industry 4.0, and the concept of link and match. The results can be concluded that the link and match program is proven by the development of existing programs in schools that can be realized to improve the school's ideals for competition in the industrial world by implementing link and match in several programs, namely (1) Coordination with industry; (2) MoU with industry; (3) Synchronization of curriculum with industry; (4) Industrial work practice; (5) Skills competency test (UKK); (6) Teacher internship; (7) Special Job Fair Program; (8) Teaching factory program, then Link and match will run effectively with neat and proper organization, besides that, it is also inseparable from the supporting factors such as institutional parties, large number of students because it is considered one of the private schools with high trust and productive teaching staff.

Abstract

KH. Sahal Mahfudz represents Indonesia’s traditional ulama (salaf) with an open mind to change. His existence is crucial because he has held various highest positions in several leading Indonesian religious institutions, such as Chairman (Rais Aam) of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) for three periods and as Chairman of the Indonesian Ulama Council (MUI) for 15 years. This article highlights his thoughts on integrating Islamic education with socio-cultural and scientific contexts. By examining his works, this article concludes that Islamic education, according to KH. Sahal Mahfudz has an integrative function with four main criteria. First, it has an integrated fundamental role. Second, it is not closed, not isolated from the socio-cultural context and has an accommodative attitude, and is open to revitalization. Third, it supports an interdisciplinary-multidisciplinary way of thinking. Fourth, it has an innovative character by bringing together tradition and modernity. From these findings, this article mentions these ideas as open Islamic education of KH. Sahal Mahfudz.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengatahui bagaimana perbedaan motivasi guru yang tersertifkiasi dan guru yang belum tersertifikasi. Penelitian ini mengunakan metodelogi penelitian komparatif, menurut Soentoro (2015:14) metodologi penelitian komparatif merupakan metodologi penelitian yang digunakan untuk membandingkan dua kejadian/dua kelompok data atau lebih (sampel maupun populasi) apakah kedua kelompok data tersebut sama atau berbeda secara signifikan. Penelitian ini melihat perbedaan/membandingkan antara dua variabel atau lebih variabel bebas dengan variabel terikat untuk mencari perbedaan antara motivasi kerja guru sertifikasi dan nonsertifikasi di Madrasah Aliyah Negeri di Kota Jambi. Berdasarkan output di atas, pada “Equal Variances” diketahui bahwa nilai sig.(2-tailed) sebesar 0,023 < 0,05, maka dasar pengambilan keputusan/kriteria penerimaan hipotesis dalam uji Independent Sample T-Test dapat disimpulkan bahwa H0 di tolak dan Ha diterima. Maka dapat disimpulkan adanya terdapat perbedaan motivasi kerja antara guru sertifikasi dengan nonsertifikasi.
