Abstract

This study analyzes behavioral factors, namely overconfidence, representativeness, and availability in Generation Z in making investment decisions, with financial literacy as a mediating variable. The research used a quantitative approach with a purposive sampling method. The data used are primary data with cross-sectional data types. Respondent data collection used a questionnaire distributed online to 250 respondents. The data analysis method used path analysis and the Sobel test. The results showed that overconfidence and representativeness positively and significantly affected financial literacy. The variables overconfidence, availability, and financial literacy positively and significantly affected investment decisions. This result is inversely proportional to the availability test on financial literacy and representativeness on investment decisions, indicating no effect. Financial literacy as a connecting variable can mediate the three behavioral biases on investment decisions.

Abstract

Several students face financial distress that impacts their performance, mental health, academic progress, and difficulty achieving their financial obligations. Some factors, such as differential needs, cause females to have higher levels of personal financial distress than males. Financial Literacy affects the level of personal financial distress among undergraduate students. Lack of financial Literacy, uncertain income, and excessive anxiety can cause some mistakes in making financial decisions and end up with personal financial distress. This study aims to ascertain correlation between gender, income, anxiety, financial literacy and personal financial distress, and examines the moderating effect of financial self-efficacy. This study using quantitative research methodology, the data was tested using SPSS software. The findings of this study indicate that low income, anxiety, and financial literacy significantly affect personal financial distress. financial self-efficacy only moderates the relationship between financial literacy and personal financial distress. Undergraduate students with high financial literacy supported with high financial self-efficacy can reduce their risk of experiencing personal financial distress. Educational institutions can use these findings to design financial education programs to improve student welfare. This study is limited by the sample may not represent the wider population. For future researchers are recommended to using a larger scope of respondents and more predictors.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of implementing green finance, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and capital structure on profitability, with the board of directors as a moderating variable. The research focuses on energy sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2019 to 2023. The combination of green finance with corporate social responsibility (CSR) in this study is uncommon in previous studies. In this case, green finance is more concerned with the environment, whereas corporate social responsibility (CSR) is more focused on social issues. Conducted as a quantitative study, the sample selection employed purposive sampling. Secondary data was collected from annual reports and sustainability reports, accessed via www.idx.co.id and the respective companies' official websites The study’s findings reveal that green finance does not significantly impact profitability, while CSR has a positive and significant effect on profitability. Capital structure, on the other hand, has a significant negative impact on profitability. As a moderating variable, the board of directors does not moderate the relationship between green finance and profitability. However, it weakens the positive impact of CSR on profitability and strengthens the negative impact of capital structure on profitability. The implications of this study provide empirical insights into the influence of green finance, CSR, and capital structure on profitability levels. Additionally, the interaction effect analysis suggests that the board of directors plays a strategic role in decision-making related to resource allocation with a sustainability orientation.

Abstract

Financial literacy encompasses objective knowledge, personal skills, and individual expertise in managing and making personal financial decisions. With the increasing complexity of financial instruments, numerous studies indicate that individuals often lack adequate information and understanding of fundamental financial principles. This study aims to examine the influence of financial literacy, financial technology, risk perception, and locus of control on investment decisions, with education level as a moderating variable. Using a quantitative methodology and purposive sampling method, this study finds that a better understanding of financial literacy, effective use of fintech, appropriate risk perception, and a strong internal locus of control can lead to improved investment decisions. The findings highlight that enhanced financial education and the integration of financial technology are crucial for supporting more effective investment choices, thereby expanding the community’s investment knowledge and skills.

Abstract

The North Sulawesi Regional Government implemented a policy breakthrough to enhance the competitiveness of tuna fisheries by facilitating the direct export of fresh tuna from Manado to Japan. However, export operations have not run optimally, as the cargo quota of 20 tons per trip per week has not been achieved which threatens the continuation of the operation. This study aims to describe the current state of direct export of tuna to Japan and to identify the causes of the failure to meet the cargo quota target for direct export of fresh tuna to Japan. The data used in this study were obtained through in-depth interviews with respondents selected using purposive and accidental sampling, as well as direct observation at the research location. The data were processed qualitatively and quantitatively, and then analyzed descriptively. The results of the study revealed a reduction in the export quota from 20 tons per trip per week to 3 tons per trip per week. In 2023, the export reached the average delivery target was only met in three months: March, April, and December, with 3.35 tons, 3.04 tons, and 7.34 tons, respectively. The cause of the issue is the shortage of high-quality tuna raw materials (grade A), which results from fishermen failing to implement proper fish handling methods during fishing operations. Furthermore, the dependence on tuna supplies from PPS Bitung. The solution is to enhance the ability of fishermen according to good fish-handling standards and to diversify the supply chain of fresh tuna by sourcing from both within and outside the North Sulawesi region. Abstract

Purse seine fishermen in Kutaraja Oceanic Fishing Port, Banda Aceh, face various socio-economic and environmental challenges that affect the sustainability of their fishing activities. This study aims to identify and analyze the factors influencing the resilience of these fishermen in facing such challenges. A quantitative approach was employed through a survey method, and data were collected from 100 purse seine fishermen using structured questionnaires. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with multiple linear regression models. The findings show that income and social support significantly affect fishermens resilience, with p-values of 0.002 and 0.015 (p 0.05), respectively. Meanwhile, education and environmental conditions have less influence, indicated by p-values of 0.089 and 0.122 (p 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R) is 0.68, suggesting that 68% of the variance in fishermens resilience can be explained by these four variables. The practical implications of this research highlight the importance of empowering fishermen through enhanced access to education, skills training, and social infrastructure development to strengthen their resilience in dealing with environmental and economic changes in the fisheries sector. The study concludes that economic and social support systems are key drivers in improving fishermens adaptive capacity. Keywords:ResiliencePurse seineFishermenEnvironmentalBanda Aceh
