Abstract

Starting with the significant rapid development of economic growth in Madura moreover the existence of cigarette Madurese workers, the authors are interested to study deeper about it and also the Islamic education contribution to the changing of Madurese social relations. Because of this phenomenon, shifting of social relations did not only happen in household relations but also massively happens in Madura. This research uses phenomenological approach to understand the phenomenon faced by the subject of the research, here the cigarette women workers. By using functional relation theory by Talcot Parson and social feminist theory by Fatimah Mernissi, the authors analyze this shifting and find the following results; social relation shifting pattern of madurese cigarette workers happens because of the increased understanding about gender relation, while the process of shifting can be seen In the patterns of family’s leaderships which are more democratic and responsive to women, and Madurese women have already been believed as leaders in some sides of society. Meanwhile, the Islamic education is the endogenous factor which grows and becomes the Madurese women’s characteristic so that Madurese women tend to firmly hold the Islamic norms in their lives. Madurese women’s social relation is built on the strong religious foundation and this makes the family and social life in Madura become the place to preserve worship.

Abstract

Abstract

As consumers, the public plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and appropriate use of products. This study aimed to assess awareness of food and drug safety and quality among the Indonesian population. Using a cross-sectional survey, the authors measured public awareness across three key dimensions: knowledge, attitudes, and practices. Data were collected from 20,610 respondents aged 17–65 years from 34 provinces in Indonesia. The survey approach employed a three-stage stratified sampling design. Data were collected through structured face-to-face interviews, and the results were presented as an index ranging from 0 to 100 (low to high awareness). The respondents demonstrated good knowledge (92.85), attitudes (90.46), and practices (80.97). The average overall Awareness Index was 88.09. The authors observed significant variations by region, age, education, and occupation, but not by sex. The gap between knowledge and attitudes, and practices can be regarded as a public health concern. Awareness of food and drug safety and quality that does not manifest in behavioral practices does not protect consumers from harm.

Abstract

This study explores how museum-based cultural education serves as a vehicle for community empowerment and cultural literacy by analyzing the case of Museum Galeri Bahari Banuraja (Mugaba) in West Bandung, Indonesia. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through direct observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. Findings reveal that while Mugaba possesses rich maritime and Sundanese heritage collections, its educational program remains passive, with minimal interactive or participatory learning strategies. Limited use of local language, absence of storytelling practices, and weak digital outreach constrain its impact on youth engagement and cultural literacy development. However, the museum has stimulated local tourism and economic interest, suggesting latent potential for community revitalization. To address these challenges, the study recommends incorporating participatory storytelling, training guides in experiential pedagogy, curating intergenerational workshops, enhancing digital platforms, and establishing partnerships with local schools and artists. These strategies aim to reposition rural museums as inclusive, culturally grounded learning hubs. The study contributes to rethinking rural cultural institutions as dynamic platforms for education, identity formation, and sustainable development.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of entrepreneurial values in early childhood education through craft-making activities and role-playing as sellers and buyers in a market-like setting at an early childhood education center in Bandung. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research combines observation, interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that key entrepreneurial values fostered through these activities include creativity, independence, perseverance, social interaction, honesty, and curiosity. Additionally, significant behavioral changes were observed in the children, such as increased self-confidence, enthusiasm, and active engagement, highlighting the program’s success in cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset. The study also underscores the critical role of educators as facilitators and the importance of parental involvement in ensuring the program’s effectiveness. Challenges identified during the study involved managing children’s frustration during the craft-making process and sustaining parental engagement. Consistent with prior research on entrepreneurship education, this study emphasizes the value of experiential, hands-on learning in early childhood. The findings have important implications, suggesting that child-centered, practical activities can be pivotal in nurturing the next generation of innovative and resilient entrepreneurs. Future research should explore the long-term impacts of such programs and investigate their effectiveness across diverse educational settings to contribute to the broader discourse on entrepreneurship education in early childhood.

Abstract

Classification for academic performances among students in a multi-class scenario is a challenging task due to its dependencies on multiple factors and characteristics, particularly in the medium academic performance category. This scenario makes it a problem for some models with their conventional settings in terms of their ability to optimally distinguish categories of academic performances while being used in classification tasks, thus leading to the need for optimization techniques in enhancing their performances. This research paper will design an optimization strategy for improving the performances of the Random Forest algorithm in a multi-class academic performance classification among students. This will help in enhancing decision-making systems in education. The research method used is a machine learning approach with a Random Forest algorithm optimized through hyperparameter tuning using RandomizedSearchCV. This study utilizes secondary student data obtained from the Kaggle public repository, consisting of 6,607 data points with 20 determining factors covering academic, behavioral, social, environmental, and health aspects. The results showed that Random Forest hyperparameter optimization was able to improve model performance from a baseline accuracy of 79.56% to 81.08% on the validation data, and achieved an accuracy of 81.69% on the test data. In addition, there was an improvement in performance in the Medium category classification, as indicated by an increase in the F1-score value from 0.69 to 0.72. Therefore, the optimization of Random Forest proved to be good in enhancing the performance and stability of multiclass classification of student academic performance.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Plickers evaluation media and to analyze its role in increasing the activeness of fifth-grade students in Akidah Akhlak learning at MIN 1 Sumenep. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data collection techniques included classroom observations, interviews with teachers, and supporting documentation. The findings indicate that the use of Plickers as a formative evaluation medium is able to enhance students’ activeness evenly, as reflected in the participation of all students in answering questions, increased focus and attention during learning activities, and reduced student anxiety toward evaluation sessions. The implementation of Plickers allows students to participate through non-verbal responses, enabling previously passive students to remain actively involved. The discussion of the findings shows alignment with active learning theory and formative assessment theory, which emphasize student engagement and timely feedback in the learning process. Supporting factors for the implementation of Plickers include teacher readiness, the suitability of the media to school facilities, the characteristics of elementary school students, and curriculum support. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors are technical and temporary in nature, such as time constraints and students’ initial adaptation, which can be minimized through habituation. This study concludes that Plickers is effective as an alternative evaluation medium to increase student activeness in Akidah Akhlak learning at the elementary school level.
