Abstract

Hydroponics is based on nutrients in water. It must be regularly monitored to prevent plant defects. The Internet of Things has become a solution for remote hydroponic monitoring and is currently being tested on the Yuan Hidroponik Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT). This system will send data every minute, and each data has a possibility of loss in transmission. There is a chance that this system will be implemented in other hydroponic organizations. As more devices are involved, it will affect server resources. This research will compare Message Queue Telemetry Transport (MQTT) and Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) as popular protocols used in IoT. A test with increasing clients shows that at 50 clients HTTP needs 87% CPU, while MQTT needs 22.63% CPU. A test with increasing payload shows that at 10,000 payload HTTP needs 94% CPU while MQTT needs 28.35% CPU. A test with fixed clients and payloads shows that HTTP has a CPU limit based on the clients involved. A transfer time test shows that HTTP needs 177.344 seconds while MQTT needs 3.24 seconds. An acceptance rate is calculated by incrementing the count for every incoming payload. It shows that HTTP can receive 30,000 payloads, unlike MQTT which can only receive 1680 payloads before losses.

Abstract

This article aims to answer problems related to animal hunting in the Alas Purwo National Park conservation area. An indisputable fact about the richness of biodiversity and ecosystems, but with the rise of poaching can threaten the loss of life of endemic animal species. This research is descriptive qualitative, aiming to provide a systematic and clear picture of the problem of animal hunting. Data collection methods through observation, interviews, and documentation. The source of the data came from key informants, consisting of communities around buffer villages, forestry police, perpetrators of animal thieves, Law Number 5 of 1990 concerning Conservation of Natural and Biological Resources and Their Ecosystems. Data analysis using interactive models, including data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the Government's efforts to protect endemic animals are considered less than optimal, even though regulations have been made regarding the prohibition of hunting and trading protected animals. So, it takes the role of the forestry police to act as the spearhead through preemptive, preventive, and repressive security operations. Forest police are at the forefront of combating unlawful acts.

Abstract

Background: Hyperpigmentation is often exacerbated by ultraviolet-B (UVB) exposure through oxidative stress and activation of pathways like mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR). Current treatments carry risks and necessitate safer alternatives. This study investigated the therapeutic potential of hypoxia-induced mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) exosomes in reducing protein kinase-A (PKA) and VEGFR expression in UVB-induced hyperpigmentation.Materials and methods: A post-test-only control group design was used with 30 male C57BL/6 mice divided into five groups: Healthy group, 0,9% NaCl-treated group, retinol-treated group, and two treatment groups (200 µL Exosomes-treated group and 300 µL Exosomes-treated group. UVB-induced hyperpigmentation was established with 180 mJ/cm² exposures over two weeks. Treatment was administered via subcutaneous injections for seven days. PKA and VEGFR mRNA levels were analyzed using qRT-PCR.Results: PKA expression was significantly lower in the 200 µL Exosomes-treated group (0.34±0.05) and 300 µL Exosomes-treated group (0.21±0.04) groups compared with the 0,9% NaCl-treated group (1.12±0.08) (p<0.001). VEGFR expression similarly decreased in 200 µL Exosomes-treated group (0.32±0.05) and 300 µL Exosomes-treated group (0.18±0.04) versus the 0,9% NaCl-treated group (1.48±0.09) (p<0.001). Both exosome doses achieved reductions comparable to baseline levels observed in the Healthy group. Conclusion: Hypoxia-induced MSC exosomes reduced PKA and VEGFR expression in UVB-induced hyperpigmentation, with the 300 µL dose showing greater efficacy. These findings suggested exosome therapy as a promising alternative for hyperpigmentation treatment. Keywords: hyperpigmentation, MSC, PKA, VEGFR, melanin

Abstract

Assessing students’ ability to provide appropriate recommendations for self-medication requests is key in developing course materials for future pharmacists. Until recently, the number of published articles evaluating the appropriateness of recommendation provided by pharmacy students towards headache cases, as one of the most common symptoms urging people to seek advice from professional healthcare, is still limited. This observational study with cross-sectional design aims to identify the type and appropriateness of recommendation given by pharmacy professional degree students on two types of headache cases, i.e., tension type headache and migraine due to adverse drug reaction (ADR). The students characteristic data, type, and recommendation appropriateness were analyzed descriptively. In total, 86 students were involved in this research (response rate 82.7%) with different recommendation profiles for two different headache cases. The majority of the participants recommended a pharmaceutical product for tension type headache while referral to physicians was advised for migraine due to ADR. The appropriateness analysis findings revealed that students gave more appropriate recommendations for tension type headache (89.5%) compared to migraine due to ADR (77.9%) case. Therefore, students’ ability to provide relevant recommendations for headaches due to ADR requires further improvement by giving some cases accordingly during the learning process.

Abstract

Abstract

The humanitarian tragedy through a series of bombings carried out by one family, such as a willingness to be disguised for their actions as not to seek an attention, and the use of children in the acts of terrorism tosacrifice all family members, this has never happened in any part of the world which have swallowed recent casualties and property losses occurred in Surabaya, became a highlight for all Indonesian people and the world as well. The growth of radicalism eventually shows the face of violence in Indonesia, this terrorism movement is intended as a form of resistance, in carrying out its actions solely as a jihad to uphold the truth they believe in. The basis and purpose of their foundation is religion, but the religion which is narrowly understood and packaged in such a way becomes a radical ideology of resistance. It does not mean that terrorist activists of jihad are lack of education, some of them are smart people but they are frustrated by the socio-political hegemony of secularhedonic culture. Terror is still one of the ways to express radicalism, aterror which is motivated by religious ideology and dissatisfaction, is very dangerous due to an excessive individual fanaticism and willingness to sacrifice oneself in achieving the goals.
