Abstract

Nowadays, researchers focus on developing catalytic converters based on activated carbon (AC) from organic waste to address environmental concerns. This study presents a preliminary investigation into the application of catalytic converters through the synthesis of AC from coconut shells, with optimization achieved through the implementation of fuzzy logic to ascertain the optimal properties of the AC, specifically the activation temperature. The fuzzy logic approach has determined that the optimal activation temperature is 950 °C. The effectiveness of this approach is substantiated by the successful synthesis of AC, as evidenced by XRD, FTIR, and SEM-EDX analysis. The findings indicate that fuzzy logic provides the most accurate activation temperature information, significantly impacting the AC structure. The resulting yield and bulk density values were 26.29% and 0.519 g/ml, respectively. Proximate analysis indicates that the ash content (4.332%), moisture (7.211%), and volatile matter (16.321%) achieve an FCC of 72.136%. The iodine number is a crucial parameter in evaluating the potential application of AC for the catalytic converter. The results demonstrated that the adsorption performance is achieved in 613 mg/g. In conclusion, the AC produced shows considerable potential for use as a catalytic converter. This assertion is substantiated by the successful evaluation of its efficacy in reducing CO and HC, respectively, by approximately 86.04% and 56.79%. To confirm the suitability of the catalytic converter for the vehicle. A series of dynamometer tests were conducted to verify the catalytic converter's performance. The ensuing test results exhibited a decline in torque and power values, yet these measurements remained within acceptable parameters for typical daily utilization.

Abstract

This investigation focuses on optimizing the sinker electrical discharge machining (sinker-EDM) process parameters for high tensile strength steel (HTSS), specifically SKD-11, utilizing Box-Behnken Response Surface Methodology (BB-RSM). Sinker-EDM is a commonly used technique in manufacturing moulds, dies, and components for sectors like automotive and aerospace. This process eliminates direct contact between the electrode and the workpiece. However, its low material removal rate (MRR) constrains productivity. This research endeavours to enhance MRR by employing rectangular graphite electrodes. The Box-Behnken Response Surface Methodology (BB-RSM) was utilized to evaluate the effects of pulse current, spark-on time, and gap voltage on MRR. The optimal MRR of 45.49 mm³/min was attained at a pulse current of 16 A, spark-on time of 400 µs, and gap voltage of 45 V. ANOVA revealed that pulse current and spark-on time significantly influenced MRR. In contrast, gap voltage had an insignificant impact. Interaction and surface plot analyses confirmed that high pulse current and extended spark-on time resulted in the maximum MRR. These findings provide valuable insights for optimizing the sinker-EDM process for SHTSS, contributing to enhanced productivity and efficiency in manufacturing.

Abstract

This study investigates the optimization of tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding parameters for joining dissimilar metals, specifically ST37 low-carbon steel and SUS 304 stainless steel, using the Taguchi L9 experimental design. The welding parameters evaluated include welding current (45-65 A), tungsten electrode diameter (1.6-2.4 mm), and shielding gas flow rate (12-18 LPM). The aim is to enhance joint integrity and mechanical properties by systematically analyzing the influence of these parameters on hardness and tensile load (TS loads). Hardness testing revealed that the weld zone exhibited the highest hardness, followed by the heat-affected zone and base metal. Tensile testing showed that the highest TS loads of 341 kgf were achieved at 45 A, 1.6 mm electrode diameter, and 12 LPM gas flow rate. Signal-to-noise ratio analysis and analysis of variance (ANOVA) indicated that welding current had the most significant influence on hardness and TS loads, with contributions of 39% and 41.27%, respectively, followed by electrode diameter (17% and 36.42%). In comparison, the gas flow rate had the least impact (45% and 22.31%). However, ANOVA results showed that none of the factors exhibited statistical significance (P > 0.05). The findings contribute to the field of welding engineering by providing optimized TIG welding parameters for ST37-SUS 304 joints, enhancing their reliability in various industrial applications such as automotive manufacturing, oil and gas, and power generation, where durable and corrosion-resistant welds are crucial.

Abstract

This study examined the thermohydraulic efficiency of a novel Solar Heat Exchanger (SHX) designed for cooling solar panels. The SHX was specifically created for 20 Wp solar panels measuring 450 × 350 mm. The cooling medium was a hybrid nanofluid (HNF) consisting of Al₂O₃ and SiO₂ nanoparticles (0.5–1%) suspended in a base fluid of ethylene glycol and water (EG/W) at a 10:90 ratio. Experiments were performed using flow rates ranging from 1 to 3 LPM. The HNF coolant demonstrated enhanced performance in the solar heat exchanger, with a maximum heat transfer rate increase of 56.07% compared with that of the base fluid. This improvement in the heat-transfer rate was associated with an increase in the heat-transfer coefficient, which was influenced by the flow rate and volume fraction of the HNF. The effectiveness of the HNF surpassed that of the base fluids by approximately 117%. The results indicated that higher flow rates and volume fractions improved cooling performance. The enhanced cooling efficiency and innovative SHX design make this study particularly relevant to the development of solar panel cooling systems, particularly those employing hybrid nanofluid coolants.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi pengembangan karir tenaga kependidikan di MA Amtsilati Bangsri sebagai upaya meningkatkan mutu pendidikan. Lokasi penelitian berada di MA Amtsilati, yang merupakan sekolah berbasis pesantren di bawah naungan Yayasan Pendidikan Islam Amtsilati, dengan jumlah tenaga pendidik sebanyak 44 orang. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara semi terstruktur, studi dokumen, dan kajian literatur. Analisis data dilakukan dengan langkah-langkah reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan karir tenaga kependidikan di MA Amtsilati dilaksanakan melalui beberapa program, seperti pelatihan, workshop tahunan, pemberian beasiswa pendidikan S2 bagi guru berprestasi, dan delegasi dalam kegiatan eksternal yang diselenggarakan oleh Kemenag atau lembaga lainnya. Kepala sekolah memfasilitasi tenaga pendidik untuk mengikuti pelatihan sesuai minat dan kebutuhan serta memberikan tanggung jawab dalam kegiatan besar guna mengembangkan potensi diri. Selain itu, yayasan memberikan dukungan penuh terhadap pengembangan tenaga pendidik untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa implementasi pengembangan karir di MA Amtsilati berdampak positif pada peningkatan kompetensi tenaga pendidik, motivasi kerja, dan mutu pendidikan. Hal ini mendukung terciptanya lembaga pendidikan yang unggul dan berbasis nilai-nilai pesantren.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki pengaruh pemberdayaan dan keterlibatan kerja terhadap kinerja pegawai Aparatur Sipil Negara (ASN) dan Non-ASN di SMA Negeri 1 Tahunan, Kota Jepara. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada pentingnya optimalisasi sumber daya manusia melalui strategi pemberdayaan dan peningkatan keterlibatan kerja guna mendukung kinerja organisasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 68 pegawai, yang terdiri atas 56 ASN dan 12 pegawai Non-ASN. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif untuk memperoleh pemahaman mendalam mengenai dinamika pemberdayaan dan keterlibatan kerja dalam lingkungan sekolah. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi langsung, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang kuat antara pemberdayaan dan keterlibatan kerja dengan peningkatan kinerja pegawai, baik ASN maupun Non-ASN. Upaya pemberdayaan yang dilakukan oleh pihak sekolah—seperti pelibatan dalam pengambilan keputusan, dorongan terhadap inisiatif individu, serta pelatihan peningkatan kapasitas—terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi dan tanggung jawab kerja pegawai. Selain itu, tingkat keterlibatan kerja yang tinggi mendorong rasa memiliki dan komitmen terhadap tugas maupun organisasi. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa strategi pemberdayaan dan peningkatan keterlibatan kerja merupakan faktor penting dalam meningkatkan kinerja pegawai di lingkungan pendidikan.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The community's trust in petung adeg griya is a belief that exists in the life of the people of Panditan Village, Lumbang District, Pasuruan Regency. The belief in petung adeg griya is carried out by the community when they want to build a house with the aim of getting a file, life safety, and smooth fortune, and being kept away from all the disasters that exist. In this study the researcher will discuss how the beginning of the formation of the village of Panditan and also the existence of a calculation in the midst of people's lives, then the procedures for the adeg griya petung, the function of the adeg griya petung, the impact when the adeg griya petung is not used, and finally how to preserve the adeg griya petung . The purpose of this research is to describe the beliefs of petug adeg griya using folklore theory. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The source of this research data is in the form of primary data and secondary data. In the data collection process, researchers conducted interviews and also collected documentation. In order to calculate Adeg Griya, there are 14 things that need to be considered, one of which is the Neptu Day and the market. The benefits in this study are 1) as a projection system, 2) as a means of education, 3) as a means of social control, 4) as a means of validating culture, and finally 5) benefits to bring blessings, 6) economic functions, 7) religious functions , 8) social function. The impact caused by the belief in petung adeg griya when building a house is not carried out is that it can cause hazards such as fire, damage, sickness, also lives can be at stake. To preserve the belief in petung adeg griya, the people of Panditan Village use various methods, such as telling their children and grandchildren or teaching Javanese calculations to young people who have an interest in learning math. ABSTRAK Kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap petung adeg griya merupakan sebuah kepercayaan yang ada dalam kehidupan masyarakat Desa Panditan, Kecamatan Lumbang, Kabupaten Pasuruan. Kepercayaan terhadap petung adeg griya dilaksanakan masyarakat pada saat hendak membangun sebuah rumah yang bertujuan untuk mendapatkan sebuah keberkasan, keselamatan hidup, dan kelancaran rejeki, serta dijauhkan dari segala musibah yang ada. Pada penelitian ini peneliti akan membahas mengenai bagaimana awal mula terbentuknya desa Panditan dan juga adanya sebuah perhitungan ditengah kehidupan masyarakat, kemudian tata cara petung adeg griya, fungsi petung adeg griya, dampak ketika tidak digunakannya petung adeg griya, dan yang terakhir cara melestarikan petung adeg griya. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini sebagai bentuk deskripsi dari kepercayaan petug adeg griya dengan menggunakan teori folklor. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian ini berupa data primer dan data sekunder. Dalam proses pengumpulan data, peneliti melakukan wawancara dan juga mengumpulkan dokumentasi . untuk melakukan perhitungan adeg griya ada bebarapa 14 hal yang perlu diperhatikan salah satunya terdapat neptu hari dan pasaran. Manfaat dalam penelitian ini yaiku 1) sebagai system proyeksi, 2) sebagai sarana Pendidikan, 3) sebagai sarana pengendali sosial, 4) sebagai sarana pengesahan budaya, dan yang terakhir 5) manfaat untuk mendatangkan keberkahan, 6) fungsi ekonomi, 7) fungsi religius, 8) fungsi sosial. Dampak yang disebabkan dari kepercayaan petung adeg griya ketika membangun rumah tidak dilakukan yaitu bisa menyebabkan bahaya seperti kebakaran, kerusakan, sakit-sakitan, juga nyawa bisa jadi taruhannya. Untuk melestarikan kepercayaan petung adeg griya ini masyarakat Desa Panditan menggunakan berbagai cara, seperti menceritakan kepada anak cucu atau mengajarkan ilmu perhitungan Jawa kepada para pemuda yang memiliki minat untuk belajar ilmu perhitungan. Abstract

Abstract The tradition of Slametan Rong Taunan Bayi (TSRTB) is a series of baby birth ceremonies that are still carried out by the residents of Kalibatur Village. The resistance of TSRTB by the residents of Kalibatur Village attracts to be researched. The formulation of the problem is about the series of TSRTB events, TSRTB ubarampe, changes in TSRTB, the influence of global hegemony on TSRTB, and TSRTB resistance by Kalibatur villagers. This research is a means of inventorying and documenting TSRTB data and determine the level of resistance. This research with critical cultural studies uses mixed methods. Data were obtained through interviews, observation, questionnaires, documentation, and notes. The series of TSRTB events are preparation, implementation, and closing. Ubarampe that must be prepared for slametan are ubarampe slametan, ubarampe kething, and ubarampe gebragan. TSRTB changes are found in the series of events and the ubarampe. This is influenced by global hegemony. The forms of global hegemony are geography, educational level, occupation, and religion. TSRTB resistance by Kalibatur villagers has two strategies, namely citation and performance. The TSRTB resistance level shows a figure of 73.57%. It falls into the middle category, which is in the range of 50%-75%. Keywords: Resistance, Tradition, Slametan Rong Taunan Bayi Abstrak Tradisi Slametan Rong Taunan Bayi (TSRTB) merupakan rangkaian tradisi slametan kelahiran bayi yang masih dilaksanakan oleh warga Desa Kalibatur. Resistansi TSRTB oleh warga Desa Kalibatur menarik untuk diteliti. Rumusan masalahnya mengenai rangkaian acara TSRTB, ubarampe TSRTB, perubahan TSRTB, pengaruh hegemoni global terhadap TSRTB, dan resistansi TSRTB oleh warga Desa Kalibatur. Penelitian ini merupakan sarana inventarisasi, dokumentasi data TSRTB, dan mengetahui resistansinya. Penelitian cutural studies ini menggunakan mix methods. Data didapatkan melalui wawancara, observasi, angket, dokumentasi, dan rekam catat. Rangkaian acara TSRTB yaitu persiapan (menentukan hari, menyiapkan tempat, mencukupi kebutuhan dapur, menyiapkan ubarampe, dan mengundang), pelaksanaan (pembukaan, kenduri, membagi berkat, menitipkan, memandikan bayi, gebragan, dan mengantarkan kething), dan penutupan (membersihkan tempat, mengembalikan alat, dan berbagi makanan). Ubarampe yang harus disiapkan untuk slametan adalah ubarampe slametan, ubarampe kething, dan ubarampe gebragan. Perubahan TSRTB terdapat pada rangkaian acara dan ubarampe. Hal ini dipengaruhi oleh hegemoni global. Wujud hegemoni global tersebut adalah keadaan geografis, tingkat pendidikan, pekerjaan, dan kepercayaan. Resistansi TSRTB oleh warga Desa Kalibatur dilaksanakan melalui dua strategi: citasi dan performansi. Tingkatan resistansi TSRTB menunjukkan angka 73,57%. Masuk kategori menengah, yaitu pada rentang 50%-75%. Maka, resistansi TSRTB perlu ditingkatkan lagi agar tidak hilang. Kata Kunci: Resistansi, Tradisi, Slametan Rong Taunan Bayi

Abstract

Digital transformation in the world of education demands fundamental changes in the teacher selection process, including in Islamic education environments. Teachers are not only required to have professional competence and mastery of technology, but also spiritual integrity that reflects Islamic values. This study aims to examine the challenges of teacher selection in the digital era, and to offer an integrative selection approach between professionalism and spirituality. Using a literature study method with a qualitative descriptive approach, data was obtained from national and international scientific literature. The results of the study indicate an imbalance in digital literacy, the dominance of technical professionalism aspects, and weak instruments for measuring spirituality in the teacher selection process. Therefore, a multidimensional and collaborative selection model is needed, including integration between madrasahs and Islamic boarding schools, in order to produce teachers who are balanced between technological skills and moral-spiritual strength in educating the Islamic generation. This study aims to formulate a teacher selection strategy that is not only oriented towards technological and pedagogical skills, but also considers spiritual qualities and personality integrity that are in line with the mission of Islamic education. In addition, this paper also examines how an integrative approach between professionalism and spirituality can be implemented in real terms in digital-based teacher selection.

Abstract

Students are an important element in education. Successful educational institutions are those who are successful in student recruitment. Educational institutions that are successful in student recruitment are institutions that have succeeded in gaining trust from the community. Madrasah Aliyah Matholiul Huda Jepara as one of the Islamic-style educational institutions has its own challenges in recruiting students. This madrasa is a madrasa that successfully competes with schools and other madrassas in gaining trust from the community which is marked by the success of the student recruitment program. This research attempts to reveal the strategies adopted by Madrasah Aliyah Matholiul Huda Jepara in promoting their institutions. This research is a case study research that uses a qualitative descriptive approach. This study uses interviews, observation, and documentation in collecting data. data reduction, data display, data verification and triangulation are used for data validity analysis. The findings of this study are divided into two aspects namely the method and media of promotion used. First, Madrasah Aliyah Matholiul Huda applies direct and indirect promotion methods. Second, Madrasah Aliyah Matholiul Huda uses conventional and digital (online) promotional media. This paper provides an alternative solution for madrassas who have backgrounds or problems in the recruitment of students, especially promotion strategies. The conclusion of this paper is that to be successful in recruiting students, madrassas must choose the appropriate method and media in promoting madrassas by paying attention to the SWOT analysis.
