Abstract

This study investigates the narrative transformation of KKN di Desa Penari as it migrated across multiple media platforms, illustrating how local stories are reinterpreted within Indonesia’s hybrid digital ecosystem. Originating as a Twitter thread, the narrative evolved into novels, films, and user-generated content, reflecting the dynamic interplay between intertextuality, adaptation, remediation, and participatory culture. While previous studies have addressed digital folklore or single-medium adaptations, few have explored how a single narrative transforms holistically across platforms through both formal production and audience engagement. The purpose of this study was to analyze how KKN di Desa Penari was reshaped through cross-platform adaptation, cultural negotiation, and participatory practices. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach with intertextual analysis, the research drew data from primary sources (Twitter thread, novel, film, memes, fan art, TikTok videos, YouTube commentary) and secondary literature. The findings reveal that each medium reconfigured the narrative in distinct ways: Twitter fostered fragmented, speculative storytelling; the novel embedded local moral codes; the film remediated the story into visual spectacle; and user-generated content extended the narrative through reinterpretation and cultural commentary. This study contributes to understanding how local narratives achieve longevity and cultural relevance through digital convergence and audience co-creation.

Abstract

This study explores the creative process of the collaborative artwork Painting in Dance, which merges dance and painting through an innovative, real-time interaction between a dancer and a painter. Employing an art-based autoethnographic approach, the research documents personal experiences and reflections to reveal how spontaneous movement and Action Painting techniques inform each other. Data were collected through visual documentation, self-interviews, and personal journals, and analyzed thematically and narratively. The findings identify four key stages of collaborative creativity: exploratory contemplation, improvisation, expressive collaboration, and final touches. These stages transform the dancer’s body into an active medium for painting. This study contributes a novel model of interdisciplinary artistic creation, demonstrating how integrating dance and visual art can produce dynamic, multisensory performances and inspire new pedagogical approaches in contemporary art education.

Abstract

This paper explores the aestheticization of the Saung, a traditional Sundanese hut, as a vernacular cultural object that has undergone transformation in the contemporary urban context of Bandung, Indonesia. Originally a functional agrarian dwelling, the Saung has been recontextualized in restaurants and public cultural events, where its meaning oscillates between tradition and modernity, symbolism and function. Drawing on phenomenology and Bourdieu’s practice theory, particularly cultural capital and symbolic negotiation, this study employs field observations and in-depth interviews to reveal lived experiences of waas (nostalgic memory), nineung (longing), and nyawang (contemplative gaze), which collectively shape the aesthetics of rarasaan. These affective and sensory dimensions position the Saung not only as architecture but also as an inter-collective space that mediates cultural identity, memory, and imagination. By situating the Saung within the Traditional–Modern and Symbolic–Functional quadrants, this paper demonstrates how processes of restructuring, reconstruction, deconstruction, and replication function as adaptive design strategies. The findings highlight the Saung as a site of cultural oscillation and a resilient vernacular form, offering insights into how vernacular settlements can endure and transform under conditions of globalization.

Abstract

The pendok of the keris is one of the essential components of keris material culture, especially during the reign of Paku Buwono X in Surakarta. As an integral part of the keris, the pendok not only serves as a protective cover for the gandar, but also carries a symbolic role representing the aesthetics, social status, and spiritual values of the Javanese nobility. The presence of the pendok reflects refined artistic taste and serves as part of the identity marker system within the social structure of the royal court society. This article employs a qualitative approach using literature study methods to analyze the role, function, and meaning of the pendok keris within the cultural context of the Surakarta royal court, particularly during the golden era of art and metal craftsmanship under the reign of Paku Buwono X. This study shows that the pendok keris is not merely understood as a visual ornament, but also as a medium of cultural communication rich in symbols, life philosophy, and the social identity of its owner within traditional Javanese society.

Abstract

The increase in diversity and complexity of crimes, including the practice of buying and selling bank accounts, is becoming more rampant through direct transactions and e-commerce platforms such as Tokopedia, Lazada, Shopee, and OLX. This illegal practice not only harms legitimate account holders but also negatively impacts society and the state. Bank accounts that are bought and sold are often used to hold funds from crimes such as fraud, drug trafficking, terrorism, online gambling, and other offenses. This study aims to examine the correlation between the practice of buying and selling bank accounts and money laundering crimes, assess the effectiveness of criminal law enforcement through various court decisions, and explore ways to optimize criminal law enforcement against this modus operandi. The research method employs a normative juridical approach supported by empirical data, as well as analysis of primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials through library and field research. The results show a strong correlation between the practice of buying and selling bank accounts and money laundering crimes as regulated in Law No. 8 of 2010. Law enforcement is still not optimal, as seen from the disparity in the decisions of the North Jakarta District Court Numbers 1080/Pid.Sus/2019/PN. JKT.UTR and 1131/Pid.Sus/2019/PN. JKT.UTR. Optimizing law enforcement can be achieved by enhancing the roles of investigators, public prosecutors, and judges, as well as strengthening regulations and sanctions against negligent banks. This study emphasizes the importance of a good legal system, cooperation between PPATK and law enforcement agencies, and the application of strict sanctions to prevent the misuse of bank accounts and protect the integrity of the financial system.

Abstract

A personal guarantor has special rights granted by law to protect themselves while fulfilling their obligations. However, in practice, these special rights are often waived, which has significant legal implications, especially in the context of debtor bankruptcy. This research aims to understand the position of a personal guarantor in situations where the debtor is bankrupt, analyze the legal protection for guarantors who waive their special rights in bankruptcy cases, and elaborate on the legal considerations of the Judicial Panel regarding guarantor protection in decision No. 24/Pdt.Sus-Gugatan Lain Lain/2021/PN. Niaga.Jkt.Pst. The method used is normative juridical with a descriptive nature, using a statutory and case approach. Data is obtained from secondary sources, including primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials, through literature studies and field studies. The analysis is conducted qualitatively with deductive conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that personal guarantors are also considered debtors in the event of debtor bankruptcy, benefiting creditors in fulfilling their claims. Preventive legal protection is provided through comprehensive information, maximum guarantee limits, bankruptcy provisions, and the right of subrogation. Repressive legal protection is carried out through the filing of other lawsuits in commercial courts, as seen in Decision No. 24/Pdt.Sus-Gugatan Lain Lain/2021/PN.Niaga.Jkt.Pst. which granted the lawsuit of the personal guarantor.

Abstract

Abstract

The military apparatus in each region is established to maintain its sovereignty. The Prajurti women of the Mangkunegara Palace were an elite group of soldiers who participated in Raden Mas Said's struggle. As an extraordinary group of warriors in Mangkunegaran history, they have unique clothing that needs further research. The palace attire is one of the important cultural heritages that must be preserved. In Javanese culture, it is taught that dressing appropriately is in accordance with guidelines, situations, and conditions. This article discusses the attire of the Prajurti women of the Mangkunegara Palace, which was reintroduced during the Keraton Festival in 1991 by Trenggono. The research used descriptive analysis techniques, describing the research subject through collected data without analysis or drawing conclusions. The approach used was the aesthetic morphology approach of Thomas Munro. Based on this, this research explains the women's clothing of the Mangkunegara Palace Soldiers by Trenggono, which was displayed at the 1991 Palace Festival. The result shows that there is a discrepancy between the description of the attire of the Prajurti women of the Mangkunegara Palace in Serat Babad Nitik Mangkunegara I and II and the attire created by Trenggono.
