Abstract

Thalassemia is a genetic disease that is still a problem in Indonesia. Patients often face emotional problems and difficulties in social relationships. This condition can affect the management and treatment of thalassemia. Family gatherings play an important role in strengthening the support system for thalassemia patients and their families. The collective strength and determination gained from this family gathering helps thalassemia patients and their families face the challenges of this condition head-on, bringing a sense of hope and optimism for the future. Family gathering activities were carried out which were attended by more than 200 patients and their families. Overall, family gatherings focused on strengthening thalassemia families and patients provide an important platform for support, education, and empowerment. Family gatherings increase emotional support, belonging, remove stigma, and motivate to always be better.

Abstract

Berkembang dimasyarkat saat ini semakin memarginalkan nilai-nilai budi pekerti dalam kehidupan keseharian. Bangsa Indonesia yang dikenal sebagai bangsa timur yang menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai luhur semakin memudar. Hal ini tidak terlepas dari kuatnya arus globalisasi yang melanda dunia termasuk kita bangsa Indonesia. Arus globalisasi dengan pasar bebas, pesatnya IPTEK dan keterbukaan dalam segala aspek kehidupan membawa sisi positif, diantaranya efisiensi dan efektivitas serta semakin maju dan sejahteranya masyarakat. Di sisi lainnya, juga berdampak negatif, diantaranya faham kebebasan yang berlebihan, individualistik, konsumerisme, kekerasan yang semakin marak, gencarnya budaya barat memasuki kehidupan masyarakat kita yang kadang tidak sesuai dengan budaya kita. Fenomena diatas perlu diantisipasi dan difilter agar bangsa Indonesia tidak kehilangan jatidiri, dan identitas nasional serta perlu dipupuk rasa kebangaan sebagai bangsa Indonesia sebagai bangsa yang religius, mandiri, santun, dan sejahtera. Hasil penelitian menujukkan budi pekerti peserta didik pada kategori baik (tinggi) sebesar 37,5%, kategori peserta didik memiliki budi pekerti cukup baik (sedang) 43,8%, dan peserta didik yang memiliki budi pekerti kurang baik sebesar 18,8%.

Abstract

The demand for large-scale industrial applications of zeolite has driven the development of synthetic zeolite as an alternative to natural zeolite, which is limited by availability and production constraints. This study investigates the synthesis of LTA (Linde Type A) zeolite using a precipitation method, focusing on the effects of stirring time and aging time on zeolite yield and crystallinity. The synthesis process involved preparing sodium aluminate and sodium silicate solutions, followed by controlled crystallization at 80°C for 8h. The resulting zeolite was analyzed using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) to determine its phase purity, morphology, and Si/Al ratio. The results showed that optimal zeolite yield (24.75%) was obtained with 3h of stirring and 24h of aging. SEM analysis confirmed the cubic morphology characteristic of LTA zeolite, while EDS analysis determined an Si/Al ratio of 1.44, classifying the product as LTA zeolite. These findings highlight the significance of controlled stirring and aging conditions in optimizing zeolite synthesis for industrial applications.

Abstract

Numerical literacy is a fundamental skill that plays a crucial role in the learning process, particularly in the field of science, especially physics. However, the reality is that many freshmen struggle with numerical literacy. This significantly impacts their foundational mathematical skills, which can hinder the academic learning process. This community service activity aims to enhance the numerical literacy of freshmen in the Physics Department at the University of Lampung by utilizing interactive visual modules. The activity was conducted over two sessions in January 2025, involving 28 new students. The students were divided into heterogeneous groups to support collaborative learning. Pre-test and post-test assessments were conducted to measure the effectiveness of the modules. The results showed an average score improvement from 36.25% to 56.6%. Addionally, the satisfaction survey results showed positive responses regarding the module’s appearance, clarity and benefits. Based on this activity, it was concluded that collaborative learning supported by interactive visual media can enhance students numerical literacy skills.

Abstract

This study aims to optimize the hydrolysis process of gayam fruit peel waste using the acid method to produce glucose, which serves as a raw material for bioethanol production. Gayam peel waste contains a high amount of cellulose, which can be converted into glucose through acid hydrolysis. The process began with a delignification step using an 8% NaOH solution at 80°C for 60 minutes to reduce the lignin content. This was followed by hydrolysis using hydrochloric acid (HCl) with varying concentrations (1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 N) and durations (90, 120, 150, 180, and 210 minutes). Optimization was performed using the Response Surface Methodology (RSM) with Minitab 18 software. The RSM results indicated that the highest glucose yield was achieved at a 5 N HCl concentration and 156.67 minutes of hydrolysis time, with a predicted glucose content of 24.37%. Validation using UV-Vis spectrophotometry and the Nelson-Somogyi method showed an actual glucose content of 4.7217% or 47.217 ppm. These findings demonstrate that gayam fruit peel waste can be efficiently converted into reducing sugars and holds significant potential as an environmentally friendly raw material for bioethanol production.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk membuktikan pengaruh Kepemimpinan Transformasional, Kompetensi dan Komitmen Organisasi Terhadap Kinerja Karyawan PT. Pupuk Kujang Cikampek, Jawa Barat, menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, metode survei dan analisis jalur. Populasi adalah 49 orang karyawan, dengan teknik sampling jenuh. Data dianalisis menggunakan Excel dan SPSS versi 20.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa : Kepemimpinan Transformasional berpengaruh langsung positif dan signifikan terhadap komitmen organisasi sebesar 0.308; Kompetensi berpengaruh langsung positif dan signifikan terhadap komitmen organisasi sebesar 0.355; Kepemimpinan Transformasional berpengaruh langsung positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan 0.325; Kompetensi berpengaruh langsung positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan 0.248; Komitmen Organisasi berpengaruh langsung positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja PT. Pupuk Kujang Cikampek, Jawa Barat sebesar 0.398. Implikasi, untuk meningkatkan kinerja karyawan PT. Pupuk Kujang Cikampek, perlu untuk meningkatkan peran kepemimpinan transformasional, kualitas kompetensi dan tingkat keterlibatan dan dedikasi secara keseluruhan melalui komitmen organisasi. Abstract

Abstrak Matematika merupakan fondasi utama dalam penyelesaian berbagai masalah dalam bidang ilmu fisika. Namun, banyak mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan dalam mengusasai konsep-konsep dasar matematika sehingga menganggu prestasi akademik mahasiswa. Pengabdian ini bertujuan mengimplementasi metode inverted class untuk melihat bagaimana keberhasilannya dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan ini. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan pada minggu ke 3 dan 4 bulan Januari 2025. Kegiatan ini  dibagi menjadi menjadi tiga kegiatan yaitu persiapan kegiatan, pelaksanan kegiatan di kelas serta evaluasi keberhasilan dengan sasaran 55 mahasiswa baru Fisika Unila. Dalam masa persiapakan disusun modul interaktif, menarik dan modern. Lalu dilakukan test pemahaman awal konsep matematika dengan hasil 42,9%. Selanjutnya dilakukan 2 kali pembelajaran dengan inverted class. Pada tahap evaluasi diperoleh peningkatan pemahaman mahasiswa menjadi 60.5%. Dengan tambahan kesan positif terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan dan modul yang diberikan. Pengabdian ini berhasil menunjukkan bahwa inverted class dapat menjadi solusi untuk mencarik pendekatan yang efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep sekaligus melatih kemandirian belajar mahasiswa.  Kata kunci: fisika; inverted class ; mahasiswa baru; pemahaman matematika AbstractHowever, many students struggle to grasp basic mathematical concepts, which negatively impacts their academic performance. This community service program aims to implement the Inverted Class method to evaluate its effectiveness in addressing this issue. The program activities were carried out in 3th dan 4th weeks of January 2025. This program was divided into three stages: preparation, classroom implementation, and evaluation of its success, involving 55 first-year physics students at Universitas Lampung. During the preparation phase, an interactive, engaging, and modern module was developed. An initial test was conducted to assess students' understanding of basic mathematical concepts, yielding an average score of 42.9%. The implementation phase involved two Inverted Class learning sessions. In the evaluation phase, the students' understanding improved significantly, with an average score increase to 60.5%. Additionally, students provided positive feedback on the learning process and the module used. This program successfully demonstrated that the Inverted Class method can serve as an effective approach to improving conceptual understanding while fostering students' independent learning skills. Keywords: inverted class; first-year students; physics; mathematical understanding; independence

Abstract

In the framework of National Waste Care Day (HPSN), which is celebrated every February 21. Jambi people take part in protecting the surrounding environment. The problem of waste in Indonesia must be a major concern involving synergy and concern from all components of society in its management. Participate actively in helping waste management in the form of waste segregation activities. The results of sorting are then submitted to the waste bank or waste collection site. Being able to sort out organic waste and inorganic waste wisely, we can get lots of benefits. Providing knowledge, insight and inspiration in managing household waste so that Indonesian women realize their important role as environmental managers from the smallest unit, namely their household and the immediate environment. This can have a real positive impact on the earth and is a step in making the earth healthy

Abstract

Islamic guidance and counseling is a very important thing to do in the hospital, this is a form of attention that is really needed by inpatients. As for the response of the patient, the patient's family and the hospital staff to the implementation of Islamic guidance and counseling was very well received. Abstract

The principal plays a crucial role in improving teachers' professional qualifications, making it essential for an educational institution to have a competent school principal to achieve predetermined goals. This study examines the role of school principals as supervisors in enhancing teacher professionalism in Islamic senior high schools. The research aims to analyze the principal’s role, identify supporting and inhibiting factors in the supervisory process, and assess their impact on teacher professionalism. This study employs a qualitative research method, emphasizing in-depth observation to explore existing phenomena. The research subjects include the school principal and teacher informants. This qualitative study collects data through observation, interviews, and document analysis, with data validity ensured through triangulation. The findings reveal that school principals supervise through planning, implementation, and evaluation while fostering a sense of collegiality. Adequate supervision includes classroom visits, meetings, and individual discussions. The principal employs direct, indirect, and collaborative supervisory approaches. However, time constraints, external principal duties, and hesitancy towards senior teachers hinder the supervisory process. Supporting factors include strong relationships between teachers and principals, the formation of a quality assurance team, and adequate facilities.
