Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of using Canva-based videos on student learning outcomes in Class VII SMP Negeri 5 Pontianak, especially on Social Interaction material. This research uses a quantitative approach with an experimental design involving two groups: a control group (using print media) and an experimental group (using Canva-based video media). The results showed that the Wilcoxon test produced a significant value of 0.445 (greater than 0.05), which indicated there was no significant effect. However, this research also shows that there is a significant impact on learning using Canva-based videos, which can be seen from the paired sample t-test with an asymp sig (2-tailed) significance value of 0.001, which means less than 0.05. This research also shows the importance of using Canva media in learning, with an effect size of 0.518, which shows a moderate influence.

Abstract

Economics learning in secondary schools is often dominated by lecture methods, causing students to become passive and less able to connect concepts with real-life contexts. This condition affects their understanding of basic economic concepts, particularly production and consumption. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of the discussion method in improving students’ comprehension of production and consumption concepts at SMA Negeri 1 Bengkayang. This research employed a descriptive approach with 30 purposively selected tenth-grade students as subjects. Data were collected through classroom observations, pre-test and post-test, as well as interviews, and analyzed through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ comprehension, as indicated by the increase in the average score from 65 in the pre-test to 82 in the post-test after implementing the discussion method. Moreover, observations and interviews showed that the discussion encouraged students to express their opinions confidently, enhanced collaboration skills, and fostered learning motivation. These results align with constructivist theory, which emphasizes the importance of social interaction and active learning experiences in building understanding. The study concludes that the discussion method contributes not only to the improvement of cognitive learning outcomes but also to the development of students’ affective and social aspects. The practical contribution of this research is to recommend that teachers integrate discussions more frequently in Economics learning, particularly in applied topics, and for schools to provide supporting facilities to ensure effective implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of mediating the relationship between the influence of self-confidence, creativity, and risk-taking on entrepreneurial intentions. This study uses PLS-SEM path analysis and quantitative survey. The population consisted of 572 12th-grade vocational students from ten vocational schools in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, chosen via non-probability purposive sampling based on their internship experiences. Participating vocational students are chosen based on their internships in industry, tourism, and other enterprises. The data was obtained using a Likert scale questionnaire and the analysis looked at internal consistency, construct validity, effect size, coefficient of determination, predictive relevance, and path coefficient. Entrepreneurial intentions (EI) are determined by the dominant factor, namely being able to make changes (CR9, λ = 95.40%), and entrepreneurial risks (EI2, λ = 7.30%) are the lowest factor. The ability of the structural model to explain EI is 50.70%, while the creativity variable explains 85.50% (Q² = 0.855) of the phenomena predicted in the field. Furthermore, the mediating role of risk-taking does not increase a significant positive effect on the effect of self-confidence on EI. This conclusion reveals the importance of developing entrepreneurial creativity and entrepreneurial intentions in shaping higher risk-taking behavior in vocational students. Implementing education and training programs that encourage creativity and entrepreneurial intentions can improve students' ability to deal with risks and take innovative steps in entrepreneurship.

This study was motivated by the limited interactive learning media that can help students understand abstract material and increase active participation in the learning process. Qualitative methods were used with a case study approach. Data were collected through observation and interviews with lecturers and students involved in the course. The results of the study showed that both lecturers and students needed innovative and contextual learning media. Lecturers said that Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning media can help explain complex curriculum concepts visually and interactively, so that they are easier for students to understand. Meanwhile, students stated that the use of Augmented Reality (AR) media can increase interest in learning, clarify understanding of the material, and provide a more enjoyable learning experience. This study concludes that there is a significant need for the development of Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning media in this course, in order to support the achievement of student competencies optimally. The recommendations from this study are the development of an Augmented Reality (AR) media prototype that suits learning needs, training on media use for lecturers, and integration of Augmented Reality (AR) into curriculum planning. These findings contribute to innovation in economic learning in higher education and encourage the use of digital technology in education.
