Abstract

Today's worsening climate change has a significant impact on the economic activities of the community in Jambu Baru Village, Kuripan Sub-district, Barito Kuala Regency. In general, the problems faced are also influenced by the management of economic resources that still depend on traditional methods. Almost all community economic activities have experienced a decline in income as a result of climate change. For example, from beje management, the community still relies heavily on income from the harvest, despite facing harvest uncertainty due to the uncertain season. Adaptation efforts have led to a new source of income, namely fishing tourism by utilizing beje, but is still positioned as additional income. In this case, creative economic opportunities have not been managed to support community adaptation in facing the impacts of climate change. This service program are highlighted problems: (1) The absence of creative and innovative ideas in the development of sustainable fishing tourism in Jambu Baru Village; (2) Women have not played a role in the management and development of fishing tourism in Jambu Baru Village. Problem solutions are designed using a sustainable development approach, which emphasizes the importance of climate change mitigation and adaptation in the context of peatland management. Concretely, the program implemented is strengthening the role of women in realizing sustainable and inclusive tourism. After carrying out village discussions and workshops, women's groups in Jambu Baru Village have creative and innovative ideas for the development of sustainable fishing tourism. The commitment of the women's groups to play an active role as a social base to implement these ideas was also strengthened.

Abstract

Lampung’s patriarchal customary law faces severe challenges from the millennial generation, who constitute more than 29% of the total population of Lampung. This challenge is based on the fundamental character of the millennial generation, who are open-minded and obtain the opportunity of having an interethnic marriage. This article maps the dialectic of the public sphere vs. private sphere in millennial families in the Lampung customary law community and how women’s strategies survive the confines of patriarchy. This article explored data from a millennial married couple who live in four districts/cities in Lampung using a qualitative, socio-legal study approach standing with ten principles of marriage on happy family (SMART)’s Khoiruddin Nasution. The findings: The boundaries between the public and the private were no longer tight because husband and wife could work collaboratively, even though there were some challenges due to the dominance of patriarchal mindset in extended families, which was sometimes affirmed, even enjoyed by the husband. However, the subconscious of the millennial family was still patriarchal even though it no longer applied strictly at the practical level. Meanwhile, women survived passively by taking advantage of the economic conditions of their families or changing environments. In addition, the active strategy is to improve formal education; live separately from the extended family; have a stable job (before marriage), and manage working time

Abstract

The spread of the Covid-19 outbreak that hit the world has resulted in many countries closing teaching and learning activities both in schools and other educational institutions. The management of the curriculum which was running during the Covid-19 emergency is very interesting to examine, especially there is still little research that discusses curriculum management during special conditions. This research is expected to provide information on how emergency curriculum management works against the global pandemic. This study aims to analyze distance learning activities through curriculum management for the Covid-19 emergency period. The research method used a descriptive qualitative approach and the research subjects were the principal, teachers, and several students who were taken based on the appointment. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The findings from the study show that the curriculum management system during the Covid-19 emergency has been running as it should, curriculum planning involving local officials and school authorities, organizing by disseminating curriculum programs to all teachers, implementing online learning is constrained due to school conditions and limited technology owned by students and this is a factor that makes online learning not effectively implemented, and curriculum evaluation is based on input from the school and does not involve students and parents of students.

Abstract

The way people search for partners has changed due to technological advancements, leading to the emergence of dating apps, one of which is Tinder. This study aims to identify the factors that motivate students to use Tinder and describe the shifts in partner-seeking behaviors among students. The research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques include non-participatory observation, semi-structured in-depth interviews, and documentation. This study reveals several reasons that drive students to use Tinder for finding partners. First, curiosity among students indicates that curiosity, the need for validation, and the desire to build relationships are key reasons why students are interested in Tinder. Second, the ease of use highlights features like swipe and chat that facilitate partner searches based on preferences. Third, the motivation to find a partner reflects a social trend in which students are driven to explore digital spaces to avoid feeling left out, with some users explicitly using Tinder to find sexual partners. Fourth, self-branding indicates that Tinder creates a space for students to explore self-expression and openness in relationships. Lastly, increased self-confidence shows that Tinder provides students with a relaxed environment to present themselves without the immediate pressure of face-to-face interactions. Additionally, Tinder is understood as a medium that revolutionizes how students search for partners. Through Manuel Castells' network society theory, Tinder is seen as part of a digitally connected society where social and romantic relationships extend into virtual spaces. Tinder not only changes interactions but also illustrates how technology reshapes partner-seeking dynamics in modern society. Abstract

Hanging out in cafes has become a significant social phenomenon among students, influencing social interactions, identities and lifestyles and encouraging them to emphasize their existence, both in the real world and on social media. The aim of this research is to examine whether students choose cafes over other places, such as facilities, atmosphere or location. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research type. Data collection techniques used participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The result of this research reveals that hanging out in cafes is a consumptive behavior for students because it is considered part of a modern lifestyle that supports social status and follows social media trends. By using the theory of consumerism by Jean Baudrillard, which suggests that buying goods by students is no longer a fulfillment of needs, but rather a fulfillment of desires involving signs or symbols in it. This research critically highlights that hanging out in cafes is not only the fulfillment of needs, but also symbolically shapes the lifestyle of students in modern society. In conclusion, the form of consumptive behavior carried out by students in cafes by consuming food and drinks, experiences, facilities in cafes such as sofas, mirrors, wi-fi, air conditioning, spatial concepts and social status associated with these activities makes it a symbolic consumption.

Abstract

Amid the accelerating integration of digital technologies into educational ecosystems, a critical gap remains in the systematic evaluation and strategic enhancement of teachers’ digital literacy across Indonesia’s diverse regions. This encourages the pressing need for validated assessment instruments and targeted interventions to support educators' competencies. This study disseminates a rigorously validated digital literacy measurement tool grounded in the Instant Digital Competence Assessment (IDCA) framework and investigates the digital literacy levels of elementary school teachers in several provinces of Indonesia, i.e., DKI Jakarta, West Java, and West Sumatra. Employing a quantitative-descriptive survey design, data were collected from 296 teachers through online questionnaires. The sample size was calculated using Slovin’s formula with a 10% margin of error, followed by simple random sampling for participant recruitment. The IDCA instrument measures digital literacy across three core dimensions: Technological, Cognitive, and Ethical. The findings reveal that teachers generally exhibit a "fairly good" level of digital literacy. Notably, respondents reported higher competence in the Ethical and Technological domains, particularly in areas such as online safety, respectful digital interaction, and the ability to navigate and utilize digital tools. However, significant deficiencies were identified within the Cognitive dimension, especially concerning critical evaluation of information credibility and analytical processing of digital content. These results highlight the urgent need for strategically designed professional development programs that prioritize the cultivation of higher-order cognitive digital skills. Furthermore, the study advocates for robust educational policies to bolster teacher readiness in delivering technology-enhanced instruction, thereby ensuring meaningful integration of digital tools in 21st-century classrooms.
