Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of Islamic religious education in fostering tolerance and encouraging dialogue between religious communities in a multicultural society. Using a qualitative approach to literature, this study examines various literature, curricula, and learning practices that are oriented towards the values of religious moderation (wasathiyyah) and respect for diversity. The results of the study show that Islamic religious education not only functions as a means of transmitting teachings, but also as a medium for internalizing Islamic universal values that uphold justice, peace, and human brotherhood. Through the application of dialogical, collaborative, and contextual learning strategies, Islamic religious education can strengthen students' critical awareness, prevent the emergence of intolerance, and build interfaith communication skills. Thus, Islamic religious education plays a significant role in creating a generation that is religious and inclusive, able to maintain its religious identity without negating the existence of other religions.

Abstract

This study presents a literature review on the effectiveness of the implementation of restorative justice in the criminal justice system in Indonesia. Restorative justice has emerged as an alternative approach to resolving criminal cases by emphasizing reconciliation, victim-offender dialogue, and community involvement rather than solely focusing on retributive punishment. Through a systematic review of relevant national and international literature published between 2010 and 2024, this study explores the theoretical foundations, legal frameworks, practical applications, and challenges of restorative justice within the Indonesian context. The findings indicate that restorative justice contributes to reducing prison overcrowding, enhancing victims’ satisfaction, and fostering community harmony. However, its effectiveness is often constrained by limited legal awareness, inconsistent implementation, and institutional resistance within the conventional justice system. This review concludes that restorative justice in Indonesia holds significant potential to strengthen a more humane and participatory criminal justice system, provided that it is supported by stronger regulatory frameworks, adequate resources, and comprehensive training for law enforcement officers.

Abstract

This study analyzes the concept of restorative justice in contemporary criminal law by highlighting comparative perspectives and current trends that are developing in various jurisdictions. Using a qualitative approach based on literature studies, this study searches academic literature, laws and regulations, and international and national court decisions to identify patterns of policy implementation and innovation. The results of the analysis show that restorative justice is increasingly integrated as an alternative to punishment that emphasizes the recovery of victims' losses, perpetrator participation, and social reconciliation, while challenging the dominant retributive paradigm. A comparison of practices in Europe, North America, and Asia shows significant variations in legal frameworks, mediation mechanisms, and institutional support, influenced by cultural and political contexts. In addition, global trends such as the digitization of the mediation process and the involvement of local communities are expanding the scope of restorative justice implementation, but still face challenges related to procedural standards and the protection of the rights of the parties involved. This study recommends strengthening regulations, enhancing facilitator capacity, and cross-border empirical research to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of restorative justice implementation in the modern criminal justice system. These findings are expected to make a theoretical and practical contribution for policymakers, academics, and legal practitioners in designing criminal policies that are more humane and responsive to the needs of society.

Abstract

Many studies have examined the effect of project-based learning on students' scientific and critical thinking skills, but no research has examined the effect size of the Deep Learning-based PjBL model on students' scientific and critical thinking skills in Indonesia. The integration of deep learning principles into Project-Based Learning (PjBL) gave birth to the Deep Learning-based PjBL model that encourages students to construct knowledge through real projects, continuous reflection, and collaboration. This study aims to determine the learning model of project-based learning based on deep learning on students' scientific and critical thinking skills. This type of research is quantitative research with a meta-analysis method. The inclusion criteria in this study are research data derived from journals indexed by Sinta or Scopus, articles published in 2021-2025, research must be experimental or quasi-experimental methods, relevant research, data obtained through the Google Scholar, ERIC, ScienceDirect, and Taylor of Francis databases, and published journals have complete data to calculate the effect size value. Data analysis using the JASP application. This study analyzed 17 relevant articles. The results concluded that the summary effect size value was d = 0.88; t = 8.26; p < 0.005, a high effect size category. These findings explain the significant influence of the deep learning-based PjBL model on students' scientific and critical thinking skills in learning. aspects to tackle this issue, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.

Abstract

Restorative justice has developed into one of the alternative approaches in the modern criminal justice system that focuses on restoring social relationships rather than simply punishing criminals. This study aims to analyze the application of restorative justice as an alternative to criminal punishment by reviewing global perspectives and its adaptation in the local context. This study uses qualitative methods with a literature review approach and comparative analysis of various restorative justice practices in developed and developing countries. The results show that the global application of restorative justice emphasizes the principle of active participation between perpetrators, victims, and communities in the process of resolving legal conflicts, with the main objective of achieving a more humane, inclusive, and sustainable justice. At the local level, the adaptation of restorative justice requires attention to the prevailing social, cultural, and legal contexts. The integration of local values and cultural wisdom is an important factor in developing an effective conflict resolution model that is acceptable to the community. The application of mechanisms such as penal mediation, diversion, and peace forums has been proven to reduce the burden on the criminal justice system, accelerate the case resolution process, and reduce recidivism rates. This study also highlights the challenges in harmonizing the restorative justice approach with positive law, including regulatory aspects.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of digital technology-based integrated STEM learning models on improving students' digital literacy through a meta-analysis approach. Digital literacy is an essential competency in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, and STEM learning that integrates digital technology is believed to be able to facilitate the strengthening of these skills. This study examined 20 scientific articles published in the period 2015–2024 and met the inclusion and methodological quality criteria. The analysis was carried out using JASP. The results of the meta-analysis showed that the digital-based STEM learning model had a significant influence on improving students' digital literacy, with an average effect size value of 0.78 which was included in the large category. Subanalysis based on education level indicates that the strongest influence occurs at the secondary education level. These findings imply that the development of STEM-based learning curricula and strategies that are integrated with digital technology needs to be continuously encouraged to strengthen students' readiness to face the challenges of the digital world.
