Abstract

Abstract: Learners hold a central position in the educational process and, from the perspective of Islamic educational philosophy, are viewed as active subjects who must be guided according to their innate nature (fitrah). Islamic education aims to develop the learner’s full potential—physically, intellectually, and spiritually—toward the ideal of the insan kamil (perfect human). This study aims to analyze the essence, characteristics, rights and responsibilities, and ethical code of learners within the framework of Islamic educational philosophy, along with its implications in educational practice. The research employs a literature review method by examining books, scholarly articles, and other relevant academic sources. The findings indicate that learners are not merely passive recipients of knowledge, but active participants who are expected to maintain proper conduct, sincere intention, and dedication in their pursuit of learning. A comprehensive understanding of learners’ characteristics and needs enables the implementation of Islamic education to be more effective and holistic, aligning with the core values of Islam. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran dzikir Thariqah Qadiriyah wa Naqsabandiyah dalam meningkatkan religiusitas santri di Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Huda Gading Malang, dengan menggunakan perspektif teori religiusitas Glock dan Stark. Dzikir dipandang sebagai salah satu praktik spiritual yang tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai ibadah, tetapi juga membentuk karakter religius secara menyeluruh melalui dima dimensi religiusitas: dimensi keyakinan, praktik, pengalaman, pengetahuan, dan konsekuensi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, melibatkan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi untuk menggali data secara mendalam.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dzikir dalam thariqoh Qodiriyah wa Naqsabandiyah memiliki kontribusi yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan religiusitas santri. Dzikir memperkuat keimanan (dimensi keyakinan), membiasakan praktik ibadah secara konsisten (dimensi praktik), memberikan pengalaman spiritual (dimensi pengalaman), memperkaya pengetahuan keagamaan (dimensi pengetahuan), dan mempengaruhi perilaku sehari-hari, seperti meningkatnya kesabaran, keikhlasan, dan soridaritas sosial (dimensi konsekuensi). Melalui praktik dzikir yang dilaksanakan secara rutin, santri memiliki kemampuan salam menginternalisasi nilai-nilai keimanan, memperkuat kedisiplinan spiritual, serta meningkatkan kualitas akhlak santri. Dengan demikian, Dzikir Thariqah Qadiriyah wa Naqsabandiyah bukan hanya sebuah ritual ibadah, tetapi juga sarana transformasi yang membentuk kepribadian santri menjadi individu yang religius, berakhlak mulia, dan bermanfaat bagi lingkungan sekitar. Abstract

Current education has not fully paid attention to the development of students' personalities as a whole, with there still being a dichotomy between science, institutions, and educational concepts. Therefore, a holistic character education model is needed that integrates religious education with the general curriculum and emphasizes mastery of science and technology to produce students with character and develop as a whole. This study aims to analyze the concept, implementation, and impact of character-based holistic education in SMP Ar-Rohmah Islamic Boarding School (IBS) Malang. With a qualitative approach based on case studies, data was obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using triangulation of data sources. The results of the study show that character-based holistic education at Ar-Rohmah IBS Junior High School includes: (1) Concepts formulated based on holistic education values as graduation standards; (2) Implementation consisting of three stages: planning (determining grades, teacher training, and providing facilities), implementation (integrating character values into lessons, methods, school programs, and communication between components), and evaluation through coordination meetings and integral report cards; (3) Positive impacts in the form of improving the quality of graduates who have strong faith, superior academic and non-academic achievements, and high independence, as well as increasing public trust in this institution. This educational model emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach to produce a generation with character and able to compete in the modern era.

Abstract

The education system at Islamic boarding schools is unique in that it emphasizes the close relationship between teachers and students. One of the characteristics of Islamic boarding schools is that they have strong religious values, have respected kyai, have mosques and dormitories in them. The teaching process uses lecture, discussion, memorization and demonstration methods. Currently, Islamic boarding schools also include the national school and madrasa curriculum and adopt e-learning to support the learning process. Islamic boarding school education has colored the education system under the Ministry of Religion. Several studies have been carried out regarding education such as Islamic boarding schools from a kyai's perspective, Salafi Islamic schools, the application of Islamic law in Islamic boarding schools. The role of Islamic boarding schools in managing good character, strategic management in Islamic boarding school education, the Salafi Islamic boarding school education system, the character of Islamic boarding school education.

Abstract

Abstract This study critically examines the representation of female desire in Surah Yusuf, verse 31, through the lens of Ibn Kathir’s classical tafsir. Despite growing scholarly attention to gender and sexuality in Islamic texts, focused analyses of female desire within Qur’anic exegesis remain limited. Addressing this gap, the present research offers a pioneering contribution by employing a qualitative descriptive method to analyze both linguistic and interpretative dimensions of the verse. The study pursues three main objectives: (1) to investigate the linguistic nuances and variations across major English translations of the verse; (2) to explore Ibn Kathir’s interpretive framing of the narrative involving the women of Egypt; and (3) to analyze how the concept of female desire is constructed within his tafsir. The findings reveal significant disparities in how translations convey the intensity and consequences of the women’s attraction to Prophet Yusuf. Ibn Kathir’s exegesis characterizes their behavior as influenced by both individual and collective longing, catalyzed by Yusuf’s extraordinary beauty. Notably, the tafsir identifies elements such as physical attraction, emotional overwhelm, and even metaphorical “drunkenness” as markers of female desire. This study contributes to the broader discourse on gender in Islamic thought by highlighting how classical interpretations engaged with complex emotional and psychological dimensions of female figures in the Qur’an. By revisiting these exegetical traditions, the research fosters a more nuanced and historically grounded understanding of female desire, offering critical insights for contemporary debates on gender, sexuality, and the interpretation of sacred texts. Keywords: Female Desire; Surah Yusuf; Ibn Kathir’s Interpretation.Abstrak Penelitian ini secara kritis mengkaji representasi hasrat perempuan dalam Surah Yusuf ayat 31 melalui tafsir klasik Ibn Kathir. Meskipun kajian akademik mengenai gender dan seksualitas dalam teks-teks Islam semakin berkembang, analisis yang secara khusus membahas hasrat perempuan dalam konteks tafsir Al-Qur’an masih sangat terbatas. Untuk menjembatani kekosongan ini, penelitian ini menawarkan kontribusi awal dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif guna menganalisis dimensi linguistik dan interpretatif dari ayat tersebut. Penelitian ini memiliki tiga tujuan utama: (1) menyelidiki nuansa kebahasaan dan variasi dalam sejumlah terjemahan bahasa Inggris utama terhadap ayat tersebut; (2) mengeksplorasi cara Ibn Kathir membingkai narasi tentang para perempuan Mesir; dan (3) menganalisis bagaimana konsep hasrat perempuan dikonstruksikan dalam tafsirnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan dalam cara terjemahan menggambarkan intensitas dan konsekuensi dari ketertarikan para perempuan terhadap Nabi Yusuf. Tafsir Ibn Kathir menggambarkan perilaku mereka sebagai hasil dari hasrat individu maupun kolektif, yang dipicu oleh pesona luar biasa Yusuf. Menariknya, tafsir ini mengidentifikasi unsur daya tarik fisik, gejolak emosi, hingga “mabuk” secara metaforis sebagai penanda dari hasrat perempuan. Studi ini memberikan kontribusi penting bagi diskursus gender dalam pemikiran Islam dengan menyoroti bagaimana tafsir klasik merespons dimensi emosional dan psikologis tokoh-tokoh perempuan dalam Al-Qur’an. Dengan meninjau kembali tradisi tafsir tersebut, penelitian ini menghadirkan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam dan historis tentang hasrat perempuan, sekaligus menawarkan wawasan kritis bagi perdebatan kontemporer mengenai gender, seksualitas, dan penafsiran teks suci. Abstract

The lack of integration of tolerance and multiculturalism education has resulted in the continued prevalence of intolerant and radical attitudes among society and the younger generation.This study aims to describe the implementation and internalization process of tolerance values ​​through Akidah Akhlak learning at MAN 1 Pringsewu and MA Darul Ulum and to identify its impact on students' attitudes. The study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that MAN 1 Pringsewu emphasized cognitive and affective approaches in tolerance learning, such as through the delivery of material "Teenager Social Akhlak" and the screening of educational videos. Meanwhile, at MA Darul Ulum, the internalization process was carried out using a value classification approach, where students actively identified tolerant and intolerant attitudes through group discussions and the habituation of polite attitudes. The impact of the internalization of tolerance values ​​in both madrasas was seen in the increasing awareness of students to respect differences, maintain polite attitudes, and avoid deviant behavior both in and outside the school environment. This study emphasizes the importance of integrating tolerance values ​​in learning as a foundation for forming students' character amidst social diversity. Abstrak. Kurangnya integrasi pendidikan toleransi dan multikulturalisme menyebabkan masih maraknya sikap intoleran dan radikalisme di kalangan masyarakat dan generasi muda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi dan proses internalisasi nilai-nilai toleransi melalui pembelajaran Akidah Akhlak di MAN 1 Pringsewu dan MA Darul Ulum serta mengidentifikasi dampaknya terhadap sikap siswa. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa MAN 1 Pringsewu menekankan pendekatan kognitif dan afektif dalam pembelajaran toleransi, seperti melalui penyampaian materi “Akhlak Pergaulan Remaja” dan pemutaran video edukatif. Sementara itu, di MA Darul Ulum, proses internalisasi dilakukan dengan pendekatan klasifikasi nilai, di mana siswa aktif mengidentifikasi sikap toleran dan intoleran melalui diskusi kelompok dan pembiasaan sikap santun. Dampak dari internalisasi nilai toleransi di kedua madrasah tampak pada meningkatnya kesadaran siswa untuk menghargai perbedaan, menjaga sikap santun, serta menghindari perilaku menyimpang baik di lingkungan sekolah maupun di luar sekolah. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya integrasi nilai-nilai toleransi dalam pembelajaran sebagai fondasi membentuk karakter peserta didik di tengah keberagaman sosial. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the construction of Washatiyyah (moderation) in a religious context based on the perspective of the Quran, with a focus on of the study of Tahlili interpretations of the Qur'an. The method of qualitative analysis is used with a descriptive approach, involving the search of the literature, the collection of data from the relevant Tahlili interpretations, as well as the analysis and interpretation from the verses of the Koran related to religious moderation. The study is aimed at providing a deeper understanding of the constructions of religious Washatiyya in a Koran perspective, with practical implications in guiding Muslims in practicing religious moderation and building inclusive, tolerant, and harmonious societies. The study also aims to reveal the understanding and interpretation of scholarship related to religious moderation, such as the principles, values, and examples of the verses of the Qur'an that describe moderate attitudes in religion. Using the Qur'anic interpretation as a primary source, the study seeks to provide practical guidance for Muslims in applying religious moderation in everyday life. The findings of this research are expected to make an important contribution to developing thought and understanding of religious moderation from the perspective of the Qur'an, as well as promoting social peace and interreligious congregation. In the context of building inclusive and harmonious societies, a deeper understanding of religious Washatiyyah construction will be a strong foundation for overcoming conflict and enhancing tolerance in religious life.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konstruksi Washatiyyah (moderasi) dalam konteks keagamaan berdasarkan perspektif Alquran, dengan fokus kajian pada tafsir-tafsir Tahlili Alquran. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode analisis kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, yang melibatkan penelusuran literatur, pengumpulan data dari tafsir-tafsir tahlili yang relevan, serta analisis dan interpretasi dari ayat-ayat al-Qur'an yang berkaitan dengan moderasi beragama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang konstruksi keagamaan Washatiyyah dalam perspektif Alquran, yang berimplikasi praktis dalam memandu umat Islam dalam mempraktikkan moderasi beragama dan membangun masyarakat yang inklusif, toleran, dan harmonis. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengungkap pemahaman dan penafsiran para ulama terkait dengan moderasi beragama, seperti prinsip-prinsip, nilai-nilai, dan contoh-contoh ayat-ayat al-Qur'an yang menggambarkan sikap moderat dalam beragama. Dengan menggunakan tafsir Al-Qur'an sebagai sumber utama, penelitian ini berusaha memberikan panduan praktis bagi umat Islam dalam menerapkan moderasi beragama dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Temuan penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi penting dalam mengembangkan pemikiran dan pemahaman tentang moderasi beragama dalam perspektif Al-Qur'an, serta mempromosikan perdamaian sosial dan kerukunan antarumat beragama. Dalam konteks membangun masyarakat yang inklusif dan harmonis, pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang konstruksi keagamaan Washatiyyah akan menjadi fondasi yang kuat untuk mengatasi konflik dan meningkatkan toleransi dalam kehidupan beragama.

Abstract

Abstract Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren) are not only traditional Islamic educational institutions but also dynamic social agents capable of adapting to the evolving landscape of modern society, including in strategic tourism areas. This article aims to examine the socio-religious role of Pondok Pesantren Al-Aziziyah in localizing Qur’anic values within the conte xt of Lombok Barat, a region undergoing social transformation driven by rapid growth in the tourism sector. Employing a qualitative approach based on library research and content analysis of documents, scholarly articles, and institutional publications related to the pesantren’s activities, this study reveals three key findings: (1) Al-Aziziyah implements an integrative educational system that combines tahfizh (Qur’an memorization), classical Islamic texts (kitab kuning), and character development; (2) the pesantren actively engages public spaces through cultural da‘wah initiatives, such as “Kafe Taman Langit,” serving as contextual expressions of Qur’anic values; and (3) its alumni emerge as transformative agents across strategic sectors, including religion, education, and sociopolitical domains. The primary contribution of this article lies in its integration of three academic domains—Qur’anic values, pesantren education, and tourism society dynamics—into a cohesive analytical framework that remains underexplored in contemporary scholarship. Intisari Pondok pesantren tidak hanya berperan sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam tradisional, tetapi juga sebagai agen sosial yang adaptif terhadap dinamika masyarakat modern, termasuk di kawasan strategis pariwisata. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran sosial-keagamaan Pondok Pesantren Al-Aziziyah dalam membumikan nilai-nilai Qur’ani di Lombok Barat, daerah yang mengalami transformasi sosial akibat pesatnya pertumbuhan sektor wisata. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif berbasis studi pustaka dan analisis isi terhadap dokumen, artikel ilmiah, dan publikasi institusional terkait aktivitas pesantren. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) sistem pendidikan Al-Aziziyah dirancang secara integratif antara tahfizh, kitab kuning, dan penguatan karakter; (2) pesantren ini aktif mengintervensi ruang publik melalui dakwah kultural, seperti Kafe Taman Langit, sebagai bentuk ekspresi nilai Qur’ani yang kontekstual; dan (3) alumni pesantren tampil sebagai agen transformasi di berbagai sektor strategis, baik keagamaan, pendidikan, maupun sosial-politik. Kontribusi artikel ini terletak pada penyatuan tiga ranah kajian—nilai Qur’ani, pendidikan pesantren, dan dinamika masyarakat wisata—dalam satu kerangka analitis yang relevan dan masih jarang disentuh dalam kajian akademik kontemporer.Kata Kunci : Pesantren Tahfizh; Nilai Qur’ani; Kawasan Pariwisata; Peran Sosial Keagamaan

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the leadership thought of Istibsyaroh, a female Islamic boarding school figure from Jombang, East Java, and its relevance in addressing leadership challenges in the Society 5.0 era. The issue of female leadership in this context remains a subject of debate, particularly concerning gender equality, the interpretation of Sharia law, and adaptation to modern technological advancements. Using a qualitative approach and a descriptive-analytical method, this study examines literature encompassing Istibsyaroh’s works, insights, and contributions, as well as the concept of female leadership in Sharia law and Society 5.0. The analysis reveals the interconnection between the qualifications of an ideal leader in the Society 5.0 era, Islamic perspectives on female leadership, and Istibsyaroh’s thoughts. The findings indicate that Istibsyaroh asserts women's right to hold political positions as long as they adhere to Islamic law, as there is no explicit evidence prohibiting female leadership in politics and governance. Through a critical review of thematic Quranic exegesis (tafsīr mawḍū‘ī) regarding scholars’ differing views on women’s political rights and leadership, it can be concluded that Islam provides space for women to engage in political leadership. Istibsyaroh’s leadership thought offers a model that emphasizes the synergy between Islamic values, gender justice, and adaptive skills in technology and global dynamics, making it relevant to addressing the complex leadership challenges of the Society 5.0 era.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemikiran kepemimpinan Istibsyaroh, seorang tokoh perempuan pesantren dari Jombang, Jawa Timur. serta relevansinya dalam menjawab tantangan kepemimpinan di era Society 5.0. Isu kepemimpinan perempuan dalam konteks ini masih menjadi perdebatan, terutama terkait keadilan gender, interpretasi hukum syariah, dan adaptasi terhadap perkembangan teknologi modern. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode deskriptif-analitis, penelitian ini mengkaji literatur yang mencakup karya, wawasan, dan kontribusi Istibsyaroh, serta konsep kepemimpinan perempuan dalam hukum syariah dan Society 5.0. Analisis ini mengungkap keterkaitan antara kualifikasi pemimpin ideal di era Society 5.0, perspektif Islam tentang kepemimpinan perempuan, dan pemikiran Istibsyaroh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Istibsyaroh menegaskan hak perempuan untuk menduduki jabatan politik selama berpegang teguh pada syariat Islam, karena tidak ada dalil eksplisit yang melarang kepemimpinan perempuan di bidang politik dan pemerintahan. Dari tinjauan kritis terhadap kajian tafsīr mawḍū‘ī (tematik) mengenai perbedaan pandangan ulama tentang hak-hak politik perempuan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Islam memberikan ruang bagi perempuan untuk berperan dalam kepemimpinan politik. Pemikiran kepemimpinan Istibsyaroh menawarkan model yang menekankan sinergi antara nilai-nilai keislaman, keadilan gender, serta keterampilan adaptif terhadap teknologi dan dinamika global, menjadikannya relevan untuk menghadapi tantangan kepemimpinan di era Society 5.0.

Abstract

Tradisi Selametan Sumber Air di perbukitan Watu Lumbung, Pasuruan, Jawa Timur, merupakan bentuk kearifan lokal Muslim dalam pengelolaan sumber daya air yang terus berkembang di tengah modernisasi dan perubahan gaya hidup masyarakat. Secara ideal (das sollen), pengelolaan sumber daya air seharusnya mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai spiritual, ekologis, dan sosial secara harmonis. Namun, dalam kenyataannya (das sein), banyak praktik tradisional yang semakin terkikis oleh kepentingan ekonomi jangka pendek dan menurunnya partisipasi generasi muda, yang dapat mengancam keberlanjutan tradisi tersebut. Penelitian ini penting karena mengkaji praktik budaya yang menyelaraskan dimensi agama dan ekologi, serta menawarkan pendekatan alternatif dalam menghadapi krisis lingkungan dan erosi identitas budaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Informan terdiri dari tokoh agama, tokoh masyarakat, pengurus (juru kunci), dan pemuda setempat, yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif selama ritual, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi data, penyajian naratif, dan penarikan kesimpulan, dengan berpanduan pada teori konstruksi sosial oleh Peter L. Berger dan Thomas Luckmann. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi Selametan Sumber Air merupakan suatu sinkretisme antara kepercayaan pra-Islam dan ajaran Islam, yang terintegrasi melalui sosok Mbah Sumpil, seorang tokoh karismatik lokal. Tradisi ini bukan hanya sebagai bentuk penghormatan terhadap alam dan sumber air, tetapi juga memiliki makna spiritual, sosial, dan ekonomi yang mendalam bagi masyarakat. Generasi muda memainkan peran strategis dalam transmisi budaya tradisi ini, baik melalui partisipasi langsung dalam ritual maupun melalui pemanfaatan inovasi media digital.
