Abstract

Numeracy skills are the basis for understanding mathematics. Children who have a basic understanding of numbers, counting, and basic mathematical relationships will be better prepared to understand more complex mathematical concepts in the future. This research aims to analyze the numeracy abilities of children aged 4 - 5 years at Kindergarten Pertiwi 27 Gajahmungkur, Semarang City. The type of research used by researchers is descriptive quantitative. The population in the study were 10 children aged 4-5 years in Class A of Kindergarten Pertiwi 27 Gajahmungkur. The data collection technique used is observation. Based on the results of research conducted by researchers, it can be concluded that the final achievement was only 27.5% of the 10 children. Based on these values, it can be said that the numeracy abilities of children aged 4 - 5 years at Kindergarten Pertiwi 27 Gajahmungkur Semarang are in the beginning to develop category.

Abstract

Education in the present era is education in the 21st century. Learning must be able to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, creativity and innovation, communication, and collaboration. Therefore, teachers must be innovative and creative in creating lessons that foster high-level thinking in students. One way is through the selection of varied and digitally-based learning media in accordance with the development of education. The aim of this study is to describe innovative and creative digital-based learning media, specifically using the Canva application in teaching. Lessons using the Canva application are one of the appropriate solutions to support teachers in developing digital-based learning media. The method used in this research is literature review, based on journals, books, and related articles. The researcher collected seven articles related to learning through the Canva media with a publication period ranging from 2020 to 2023. The results of this study indicate that learning using the Canva application is one of the innovative, creative, engaging, and enjoyable learning media in line with the current digital-based education development. The goal of this research is to enhance innovative, creative learning through the Canva media so that students feel happy and engaged in the learning process.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the obstacles to early literacy in children aged 4-6 years in Early Childhood Education (PAUD) through a qualitative approach with research subjects who are children aged 4-6 years and 30 PAUD educators selected using purposive sampling. Data collection methods involve observation and interviews with PAUD educators as well as interactions with children aged 4-6 years. The data analyzed includes observations of children's literacy activities, interviews and educators' perceptions of the obstacles faced in supporting early literacy. The results of the research show that early literacy in PAUD has not been able to run optimally due to various obstacles, including many still narrow understanding of literacy, diverse human resources including psychological, social and environmental aspects. The discussion of findings links the results of the analysis to early literacy theory and provides insight into the factors that influence literacy development in early childhood in PAUD. The implications of this research contribute to the development of more effective early literacy education strategies in the PAUD environment.

Abstract

Mathematics is one of the subjects in the Independent Curriculum at elementary school level. One part of Mathematics is numeration. Currently, numeracy is one of the achievements measured in the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM). AKM at the elementary school level is implemented for fifth grade students, so there needs to be preparation in previous grades to deal with it. Numeracy is the ability to think using concepts, procedures, facts and mathematical tools to solve everyday problems in various types of relevant contexts. Numeracy skills can help students study other fields of science, help students think and digest information in written or quantitative form. However, based on research, many students experience difficulties in counting and teachers also encounter problems in teaching counting. So this research aims to determine: (1) the numeracy abilities of fourth grade elementary school students; (2) mathematics learning difficulties in terms of numeracy abilities in fourth grade elementary school students; and (3) teachers' efforts to overcome obstacles encountered when teaching numeracy. The research method used is qualitative descriptive research. The research was carried out in semester 2 of the 2023/2024 academic year. This research used subjects selected by purposive sampling using the technique of (1) interviewing 15 teachers and (2) giving numeracy assessment sheets to 30 students from 3 different elementary schools, namely SDN Sidomulyo, SDN Sendangmulyo, and SDN 1 Gunem. Based on the research results, 1 student got a score of ≤40, 22 students got a score of 41 – 70, and 7 students got a score of ≥71. Meanwhile, from interviews with teachers, all teachers stated that they had overcome obstacles when teaching numeracy.

Abstract

The development of digital technology in the world of education is currently growing very rapidly, one of which is digital books. Digital books become more interesting if they can present the real environment around students in a virtual form. One technology that can present the real world environment into digital objects and can interact is Mixed Reality. The purpose of this research is to produce a Mixed Reality-based Digital Book on algebra material that is valid and feasible to use in improving students' numeracy literacy skills so that it can support learning. This study uses the Borg and Gall research and development pattern method. Data is taken through expert validation and readability tests for product testing. In the media expert validation which includes general aspects, aspects of learning presentation, aspects of language feasibility, aspects of graphics meet the valid criteria with an average value of five validators 89.2%. In the material expert validation which includes general aspects, aspects of material substance, learning aspects, aspects of usefulness meet the valid criteria with an average score of five validators 92.6%. In the readability test, teachers and lecturers obtained an average of 86% and the readability test on students obtained an average of 80%. Based on the results of media and material validation along with the Mixed Reality-based Digital Book readability test on algebra material, it is concluded that it is valid and feasible to use. The implication of this research is that it makes it easier for students to learn by using digital books to support learning in the classroom so that they can improve their achievement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi tiga permasalahan utama: 1) pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru sehingga menghambat pengembangan kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik, 2) belum diterapkannya pembelajaran berdiferensiasi yang disesuaikan dengan gaya belajar siswa, dan 3) rendahnya hasil pre-test literasi sains pada mata pelajaran IPAS, khususnya aspek kompetensi siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji keefektifan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) berdiferensiasi terhadap literasi sains aspek kompetensi siswa. Subjek penelitian adalah 26 siswa kelas 5 SDN Rejosari 01 Semarang. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes pilihan ganda pretest-posttest pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah one group pretest-posttest design, dan data dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, uji N-gain, dan uji paired sample T-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa literasi sains aspek kompetensi siswa sebelum diberikan perlakuan (46,67) meningkat setelah perlakuan (79,16). Hasil uji-t menunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan (p < 0,05), dan skor N-gain sebesar 0,3 ≤ g ≤ 0,7 mengindikasikan efektivitas yang sedang. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran PjBL berdiferensiasi efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains aspek kompetensi siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh teknologi baru dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran terhadap penggunaan media flipbook untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi siswa pada mata pelajaran IPAS kelas IV SDN Sawah Besar 01 Semarang. Metode penelitian yang dipakai ialah metode eksperimen memakai Pre-experimental Design dengan jenis One Group Pretest Posttest Design dengan memakai metode sequential mixed methods atau bisa disebut metode campuran bertahap. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan memberikan tes kepada siswa berupa pretest dan posttest. Untuk memperoleh hasil dalam penelitian ini teknik analisis data kuantitatif yang dipakai ialah uji normalitas, uji paired sample t test, dan uji gain ternormalisasi. Sedangkan teknik analisis data kualitatif yang dipakai ialah triangulasi teknik dan sumber. Sample pada penelitian ini yakni sebanyak 28 siswa kelas IV A SDN Sawah Besar 01 Semarang. Hasil uji normalitas menyatakan bahwa data normal, sedangkan hasil uji paired sample t test menyatakan bahwa hipotesis diterima yakni terdapat peningkatan kemampuan literasi dalam kategori sedang. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa teknologi baru dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran memberikan pengaruh terhadap media flipbook untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi siswa pada mata pelajaran IPAS kelas IV SDN Sawah Besar 01 Semarang.

Abstract

Student-centered learning has not been successfully implemented, according to the findings of interviews conducted with fourth grade teachers. Students have a variety of learning demands. Efforts made by teachers by using TaRL techniques to increase students' interest in learning. Finding out what the value of fractions is through various methods is the goal of the PBL learning paradigm. This research uses mixed methodology, which combines two different approaches: qualitative and quantitative with a case study research design. By thoroughly describing a case that becomes the focal point of the research. The data collection method in this study is based on the assessment of learning outcomes, which includes knowledge, understanding, ability, attitude, and value. Students' learning outcomes were maximized in the first lesson using the TaRL approach. This method makes learning more focused and efficient. Although the TaRL approach can be used to improve student learning outcomes, it still requires hard work and creativity to advance students who have not achieved their learning outcome targets and retain students who have achieved their learning outcome targets.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Teaching at The Right Level (TaRL) method has an effect on the basic literacy skills of elementary school students in reading Indonesian language subjects, this study was conducted at SD Negeri Tambakrejo 01 Semarang City. The type of research used is a mixed method using a parallel convergent research design, namely by combining quantitative methods and qualitative methods which then draw conclusions from both. The subjects of this study were students of class IB SD Negeri Tambakrejo 01 Semarang City. The instrument used in the study was a reading questionnaire with 10 values ​​for the quantitative method, while the researcher used observation, interviews, and supporting documents as qualitative instruments. The analysis technique used was the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, and obtained normal data distribution results. Then, the hypothesis test used the Paired Sample T-test and produced a significance value (2-tailed) of the learning outcomes of class IB students at SD Negeri Tambakrejo 01 Semarang City of 0.000 <0.05. So, Ha is accepted. Thus, the conclusion of this study is that there is an influence of the implementation of the Teaching at The Right Level (TaRL) approach on the Indonesian language learning outcomes of class IB students at SD Negeri Tambakrejo 01, Semarang City.

Abstract

Permasalahan utama dalam penelitian ini adalah banyak siswa menganggap matematika itu adalah pelajaran yang sulit untuk dipelajari yang berdampak pada kurangnya motivasi belajar siswa sehingga pembelajaran matematika berjalan pasif atau kurang partisipatif antara guru dan siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penyelesaian masalah yang timbul dalam pembelajaran matematika melalui metode design thinking menurut David Kelley yang terdiri dari 5 tahapan yaitu empathize, define, ideate, prototype dan test. Dalam eksplorasi masalah ini menggunakan 3 tahap yaitu empathize, define dan ideate untuk menciptakan ide-ide solusi dari beberapa ide-ide solusi yang mungkin. Populasi penelitian yaitu siswa kelas X dan guru matematika di SMA N 3 Pemalang, SMA N 1 Petarukan dan SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Pemalang, dengan sampel penelitian terdiri dari responden siswa kelas X sebanyak 40 siswa dan guru sebanyak 7 guru. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuisioner berupa google form dan wawancara. Kemudian hasil data yang sudah didapatkan selanjutnya dianalisis dari tahap empathize sampai define. Hasil eksplorasi dari penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa kebutuhan siswa dan guru dalam pembelajaran matematika yaitu perlu adanya pembelajaran yang kooperatif dengan menggunakan media interaktif yang dapat diakses lewat internet. Dari hasil eksplorasi tersebut, peneliti merancang pengembangan media interaktif berupa google site dengan alur merdeka yang berbasis design thinking yang mampu memotivasi belajar siswa untuk berpartisipasi aktif didalam pembelajaran.
