Abstract

This study examines a community empowerment initiative in Dirgantara Village in Yogyakarta that focuses on producing dry maggots to address challenges in waste management and economic development. The project targets the issue of organic waste by using maggots, specifically the larvae of the Black Soldier Fly, to efficiently decompose organic material. This method not only mitigates environmental pollution but also creates a valuable product that can be sold as animal feed, offering a sustainable income source for the community. The initiative uses a problem-based learning approach, engaging local residents through educational workshops and practical demonstrations to improve their understanding and skills in organic waste management. Results show a significant increase in community members' understanding and awareness of sustainable waste practices. The Dirgantara Village project demonstrates how integrating innovative and sustainable practices can effectively address ecological challenges and enhance economic prospects, serving as a model for other communities facing similar issues.

Abstract

Vocational education is crucial in bridging the gap between educational outcomes and labor market demands, significantly impacting employment rates and career prospects. The purpose of the study was to identify the acceptability of the entrepreneurship education model in Indonesian vocational schools. This paper explores the importance of vocational education in equipping individuals with job-ready skills, addressing challenges like long-term unemployment, and literacy skill disparities. It emphasizes the integration of entrepreneurship education to foster entrepreneurial intentions, competencies, and behaviors, crucial for sustainable economic growth, particularly in Indonesia. Utilizing a development model based on Borg and Gall, the study involves needs assessment, product development, and evaluation to craft an effective entrepreneurship education framework for vocational schools. Insights from vocational education experts, entrepreneurship practitioners or teachers, and entrepreneurs are integral to developing this model. The findings show that entrepreneurship education is acceptable to be implemented in Indonesian vocational schools. The proposed model focuses on characteristic Indonesian mindset formation, practical entrepreneurial skills, and active industry collaboration, aiming to prepare graduates for both employment and selfemployment. This research has implications for the transformation of vocational education in Indonesia by providing a strong framework that supports graduates’ transition to the world of work and encourages entrepreneurial efforts, thereby contributing to broader economic development and innovation.

Abstract

The students are urged to do something without expecting anything in return and only in the name of God. Every islamic student becomes something ideal if they can internalize and implement sincerity. Many people are willing to do something because of an ulterior motive. The importance of sincerity in humans is the background for developing a sincerity scale that measures personal sincerity. One of the figures who gave an example of sincere behavior was Kyai Haji (KH) Ahmad Dahlan, so the sincerity scale was adjusted to the character's sincere behavior. This scale consists of four indicators: having transcendental motives, the ability to control emotions, the absence of a sense of superiority, and being a servant of God. Two experts in Islamic psychometry tested KH Ahmad Dahlan's version of the sincerity scale. Besides that, construct validity involved 252 students. We employed Cohen's Kappa inter-rater reliability (IRR) coefficient and Rasch analysis as data analysis methods. The findings from Cohen's Kappa indicate that both experts concurred on the accuracy of the instrument's statement items. Additionally, the Rasch analysis reveals that the sincerity scale, based on KH Ahmad Dahlan’s version, is reliable, accurate, and fits well with the model.

Abstract

Students' mental health is disrupted during the COVID-19 pandemic due to an unstable economy and unprepared education in online learning facilities. Aggression appears in students because of the students' internal and external impacts, so school counsellors need to be equipped with counselling strategies. A peace counselling training program (PCT) is an effort to provide school counsellors with skills in helping students reduce aggression with a peaceful character. Peace counselling is a strategy to form a peaceful mindset without violence on students. The purpose of the PCT program for school counsellors is the skills of school counsellors to apply peace counselling to reduce student aggression. The PCT program is implemented through group discussion forums, information provision, training, mentoring. The target of the PCT program is school counsellors in Indonesia by involving guidance and counselling teacher consultation organizations. Evaluation of the process and results of the PCT program through mentoring impacts reducing aggression as measured by the aggressiveness scale. The implementation of the peace counselling program through FGDs, information provision, training, and mentoring is evaluated in each activity as a process evaluation. The results of the FGD are the emergence of the problem of student aggression which is very urgent to be reduced. The result of the counselling activity is the counsellor's understanding of peace counselling with urgency in the perspective of religion and self of peace. Counsellors can have skills in the implementation of peace counselling with six stages. Peace counselling can apply to a set of individual and group counselling. Implementing the program decreases student aggression with an average initial condition of 65.59, down to 58.64. The conclusion is the peace counselling program can reduce student aggression. A peace counselling program can be applied as a strategy to reduce student aggression by school counsellors.

Abstract

Abstract

This study seeks to identify the types of disciplinary violations committed by students, explore how the TPD App facilitates the documentation of such violations, and examine strategies that can be implemented to minimize these infractions. Employing a descriptive qualitative research design, the study was conducted at Unggulan Aisyiyah Junior High School, a private institution located in Yogyakarta. Data were collected through a combination of observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews involving guidance and counseling teachers, the school principal, and a review of relevant institutional documents. The findings reveal two key insights. First, this application significantly enhances the process of recording student disciplinary violations, with a total of 561 infractions documented across 33 categories. Second, some of these violations may be mitigated through the provision of more intensive student support services—specifically, through the implementation of effective and efficient classical guidance and counseling interventions. These findings underscore the importance of integrating digital tools with targeted counseling strategies to promote student discipline. It is anticipated that the results of this study will contribute to the body of knowledge on school discipline and serve as a foundation for future research in the field.
