This counseling model uses the basic theory of peace education that is specifically implemented in counseling. This study adapted the research and development model formulated by Borg & Gall. The research used quantitative descriptive analysis. There was a strong agreement between experts and practitioners on the feasibility of the product being developed to be implemented by school counselor. The results of this study should be a reference to further research to test the effectiveness of PCM to reduce students’ aggressive behavior.

Abstract

Emotion regulation is an important variable to support students’ optimal development. Students with high emotion regulation tend to minimize their aggressive behavior. However, some students have difficulty in regulating their emotions. Previous studies show that attachment and self-esteem influence emotion regulation. This study aims to examine the effect of the two variables on emotion regulation of students. 150 randomly selected students were involved in the study. Multiple linear regression was applied to analyze the research data. The results showed that there was a significant effect of attachments and self-esteem on emotion regulation. Attachment and self-esteem influence emotion regulation by 76.3% while other variables influence it by the remaining 23.7%. The result can be used as a basis for constructing guidance and counseling services that involve attachment and self-esteem to improve the emotion regulation of students.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a peace guidebook as a medium for school counselors in reducing student aggressiveness. The research employed research and development design proposed by Borg and Gall model, which includes identifying aggressive needs and problems, drafting a hypothetical product, and expert and user assessment of the product. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis to describe the level of aggressiveness. In addition, this study uses Cohens Kappa’s inter-rater reliability (IRR) coefficient to identify expert and user agreement on product feasibility. The results of the descriptive analysis show that aggressiveness needs more attention from school counselors, one of which is by implementing peace guidance. The developed guidebook received an assessment from two guidance and counseling experts who have a track record in developing guidance and counseling media. User ratings were obtained from two school counselors who already have educator certificates. Based on expert and user assessments, the peace guidance manual is categorized as suitable for use by school counselors to reduce student aggressiveness. The results of this study should be used as material and consideration for further research to empirically test the peace guidance guidebook’s effectiveness in reducing student aggressiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of cinema-based education inspired by KH Ahmad Dahlan's teachings in fostering peace among students. The research was conducted at Muhammadiyah Vocational High School 2 Yogyakarta, Indonesia using a quasi-experimental design, specifically a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The study involved 14 students divided into two groups: an experimental group (7 students) that received the cinema-based education intervention and a control group (7 students) that did not receive any intervention. The peace scale that has a good level of reliability is used to measure the level of peace. The peace scale consists of 26 statement items that have been tested for validity. Hypothesis testing was conducted using the Mann-Whitney test to determine the significance of differences between the two groups. The results indicated a significant difference between the experimental and control groups, with the experimental group showing a greater improvement in peace scores following the intervention. These findings demonstrate that cinema-based education grounded in KH Ahmad Dahlan's teachings is effective in enhancing student peace.

Abstract

Personal responsibility is an individual's ability to identify and regulate one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and the willingness to take responsibility for the choices and resulting social and personal outcomes. Through a quantitative correlational study, this study explores the role of personal responsibility and career planning in high school students/adolescents. A total of 465 adolescent subjects from Indonesia were sampled in this study. The data collection method used instruments tested for validity and reliability in measuring personal responsibility and career planning. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics to describe the level of personal responsibility and career planning and inferential statistics, namely product moment and simple linear regression, to test the relationship between the two variables. The results showed that 50.9% of students showed that the level of personal responsibility was high, while 60.8% indicated that career planning was medium. Statistical analysis also shows a positive and significant relationship between personal responsibility and career planning, with a practical contribution of 88.1%, while other factors influence the rest. The implications of this study can be the basis for school counselors to help develop students' career planning skills. This study also encourages further researchers to use the study results as a basis for providing guidance and counseling service interventions, especially related to personal responsibility and career planning.

Abstract

This study aims to map global trends in peace counseling research using a bibliometric approach. Data were taken only from the Scopus database, focusing on publications containing keywords related to peace counseling, such as peace counseling, peace psychotherapy, and peacebuilding therapy. The analysis was conducted on 769 selected documents published between 1937 and 2025. The results showed a significant increase in publications since 2020, reflecting the growing need for counseling approaches that support peace and psychological well-being. Authors from various countries made different contributions, with the United States dominating the number of publications and citations, while developing countries such as Indonesia began to show significant participation. However, the findings also showed that collaboration between researchers and institutions is still limited, indicating the need to strengthen global scientific networks. Popular topics that emerged in this study included psychotherapy, psychological well-being, peace education, and the role of counselors in building peace. The results of this study provide an important contribution to understanding the development and direction of peace counseling research at the international level, as well as providing a basis for developing counseling policies and practices that are more relevant to contemporary social needs. This study also encourages further research incorporating qualitative approaches to explore the local context and practical implementation of peace counseling in more depth.
